Ejb, bc4j, deployment wizard

JDeveloper 3.1.1.2
Oracle 8.1.6.1
I have a business components project with several application modules. The application modules are not nested.
I made all the application modules remotable ( I choose the EJB option for oracle8i).
When I tried to create a deployment profile by choosing Project/Deploy/New Profile... I cannot find the filename.ejb anywhere.
Because I don't have any filename there, I can't create a deployment profile this way.
Any suggestions?
N.B. I tried to deploy using the create new deployment profile by right clicking on the project. I got a lot of profiles but when I try to deploy I get a lot of errors. (ora-29534, loadjava: 34 errors etc)
What is the difference between the two profile methods?
TIA

Have you tried the latest service pack for version 5.1? There are a lot of
bug fixes for the console in the service packs.
Thanks,
Michael

Hi, Chris.
My company is evaluating the weblogic application server for our nextproject.
I am facing a similar problem now with weblogic 5.1.0 eval version
(WIN NT 4.0, sp5)
The ejbdeployer Tool used to be running very well. and all of sudden, it's
dead.
Have you solved your problem with 4.0.3?
Or, is there anyone else who had similar experience and wants to share the
solution?
It'd be higly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

When we start the Wizard on our machines, it just shows the splash

and eats memory. I believe it started when I click ejbdeployer.exeinstead
of ejbdeployerw.exe. I have uninstalled everything (weblogic, jdk) and
reinstalled everything. Nothing stops it from hanging. It had been
working fine for months!! Now it's dead. Any suggestions?

  • EJB/8i deployment and SSL

    Hello JDev Team,
I want to use SSL encryption and authentication in my InfoSwing BC4J Oracle8i application.
For Local Deployment it's quite transparent you just define appropriate LocalConnection class and SSL works fine.
But for EJB/8i Deployment it's not that clear. As I understand EjbConnection class can accept user/password authentication only.
Do I have to extend oracle.dacf.dataset.connections.Connection class and create my own SSL-oriented Connection with my own setConnectionSpecificEnvs method? Is that a possibility?
Could you please give me some directions on this case?
    Thanks,
    Victor

  • When deploy: Wizard error a connection to the deployment share could not be made "check physical connection"

    Hello everybody,
yet another issue with deploying a masterdisk. I will give you a short explanation of the situation.
I need to deploy Windows 8.1 PRO x86.
Using: Microsoft Deployment Workbench Microsoft Version: 6.2.5019.0
    1. Reference PC: Windows 8.1 PRO x86 is installed on ORACLE Virtual Box.
    2.  I installed  MDT on my workstation Windows 7 x64, where "C:\DeploymentShare\Windows8" is located.
    3. To change the Unattended.xml file, I have second ORACLE Virtual Box with
Windows 8.1 PRO x86 with MDT, which connected to the DeploymentShare of Windows 7 x64.
     - The reason is because the Reference PC is x86 and the Unattended.xml file can be changed only if MDT is installed on x86 Windows, otherwise it is not possible.
    The image capture is successful.
Then I create bootable USB device using rufus-1.4.12.exe. I use: C:\DeploymentShare\Windows8\Boot\LiteTouchPE_x86.iso
I use a real PC (not virtual machine) and when the deployment starts
    I see:
1 Welcome screen, where I select: Run the deployment wizard to  install a new operating system.
    2. The next screen is an error screen where I see the error:
    "Wizard error
A connection to the deployment share (\\ComputerName\C\DeployemntShare )could not be made
DHCP Lease was not obtained for any Networking devices!
    Possible cause: Check physical connection
I am relatively new with MDT.
Any suggestions are more than welcome.

    Nick,
    Thank you for the answer!
Yesterday, I figured out that I need to create an offline bootable disk.
The issue is caused, because creating a bootable disk with rufus.exe include only the ISO file and not the WIM file. That is the reason why during OS installation process it asks me for the shared folder...

  • Issue when trying to deploy Monitoring Server Reports on Deployment Wizard

    Hi all.
I have to install the Monitoring Server Role on a server that already has the Lync Server 2010 up and running.
I'm new to Lync Server so my experience with the product is limited, so I need some help with an issue.
I followed the Deployment Guide and for now I managed to do the following:
    - Installed an SQL Server 2008 Standard with SP1 with SSRS also;
    - Updated the Topology to include a Monitoring Server, and also published the new topology;
    - Installed the new components of the monitoring server.
I can also refer that the SQL Server Instances and Lync Server Front-End are in the same server h where I'm installing the monitoring server, and there is only one Front End Pool.
As far as I can tell everything was successfully done, and I couldn't find any errors until now.
And finally the issue appeared when I wanted to deploy the Monitoring Server Reports to the Reporting Services Server.
In the deployment Wizard of the Lync Server 2010 the link for that option is disabled, no further information is given.
I tried to find on the ISO and .exe or .msi files that could deploy the reports, but could not find any.
I believe it isn't a problem of permissions of the user because i followed the documentation.
I hope someone can help me find the problem, and if possible a solution for it.
    Best regards.

    Hi,
From your description above, it is a Lync Server 2010 Enterprise Edition and you deploy Monitoring Server in the same Server with FE Server.
If it is the case, you may meet unknown issues as you must deploy Monitoring Server on a separate Server. You can only collocate Monitoring Server with Archiving Server.
Please try to delete the Monitoring Server configuration in Lync Topology and then republish topology, and rerun Step 2. After these, please deploy Monitoring Server with a Separate Server and test if the issue happen again.

  • Dynamic update of EJB/Web deployment descriptors

In 8.1SP3, is there any provision to allow for dynamic update of EJB/Web deployment descriptors? I'm specifically looking at env var changes.
I noticed that there are some mentions of the ability to dynamically update deployment descriptors, but it appears that the general facility has been deprecated, and they've incorporated all of the WebLogic-specific descriptor information directly into the console.
When I dig through the JMX namespace and some of the MBean classes, I also see mentions of "deployment descriptor editors", but it's not clear how to utilize that.
I'm aware of the fact that my application would have to be aware of possible dynamic updates to the descriptors, so I'd have to be able to implement some sort of listener for that.

I have the same question but for a different purpose. I am part of a hosting group and we have app teams that have defined init-params in the web.xml that have to be changed as the app is promoted up through test environments and ultimately to production - only we need to be able to do this WITHOUT "cracking open" the archive.
I was hoping to be able to script something to do the update after deployment.
So any help at all would be appreciated. In the meantime will continue to poke around in the WLST and MBean docs.
    Thanks,
    Ed

  • SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services Deployment Wizard broken after SP1

I have installed SQL Server 2012 SP1, now I cannot edit Data Source Connection Strings anymore in the Deployment Wizard.

    Please help!

I managed to fix it by modifying the Workaround from Microsoft a bit.
    Microsoft Fix: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2809127/
    Summary of fix:
Open the following configuration file in a text editor, such as Notepad, as an administrator:

    2. Insert the runtime XML tags after the </startup> tag in the configuration section:<configuration>

    </startup>
    <runtime>

Instead of redirecting from version 8 and 9 to 10, i reverted it and made sure it uses version 8.

JDeveloper 3.2 and 3.1 Deployment Wizard ( step #3) does not show any public static methods being deployed as Java stored procedures. The "settings" button is disabled.
Is this a demo version of the tool ?

It's probably easier to add them all and remove the ones you don't want. Admittedly this is a bit cumbersome, because the 3.2 navigator doesn't allow multiple selection..

It seems that from the exception message that there is an issue loading or locating the EJB local home interface, however I am not exactly sure what is going as I can't find any additional information on this issue in the NW logs.  I have a previous ear that will deploy.  This earlier ear file only contains EJB remote interfaces.  In the newer ear I have implemented and added the EJB local interface and believe that I have the correct configurations, since the NW IDE doesn't show any errors and is able to generate the EJB archieves and the deployment EAR.
Any assistance or help would be greatly appreciated as I have hit a wall on this.
    Thanks
