why is my eject button sooo slow to respond when ejecting a DVD or CD?? Its instant on my old G4 (i know that is USB) but still its instant with everything else.
I believe i read there was a glinch with mac mini's is this true??

The most likely explanation as to why the eject button is faster on the old G4 than on the mini is that you are running different versions of MacOS. As odd as it may sound, the later (in fact latest 2 or 3 updates) to Tiger resulted in widespread reports of notably sluggish response to the eject key - not just on Mac minis, but a range of Mac hardware.

Setting up my Line6 UX1 with Audtion 3.0 on Win7 - settings dialog takes ages to respond

I downloaded the trial of Adobe Audition 3.0 (I've been using 1.5 on WinXP for a few years now and it's always been fine to use!)
I am trying to set up my Line6 POD Studio UX1 with Audtion 3.0 on Windows 7 Pro (64 Bit - 32GB RAM Quad Core Intel i7 3770 Processor)
I am noticing that the Settings dialog takes ages to respond and update with the changes I make - when I eventually managed to get playback - the playback only came out on the left monitor.
I should mention that I am doing this on a previous Audition 1.5 session - Audition 3.0 saved the session as a new session so I think that should be fine.
What I'm looking for here is the correct settings I need to use in Audition 3.0 to use my UX1.
I don't want to pay for Audition 3.0 if it's not going to work for me!

You won't be able to pay for Audition 3 since it was discontinued several years ago. However you may be able to upgrade to AA3 for free as a previous Audition user.

Mac Mini HD errors with bluetooth keyboard

I have a Mac Mini with bluetooth keyboard. I cannot boot to OSX Recovery (command R). Yet I need Disk Utility to repair HD errors.

I found this link searching Apple Mac Mini Support: Apple Wireless Keyboards: Using startup keys. Tried this and it worked on the second try. Worked using Restart in the middle of the startup chime sound, not Shutdown.

Can't type in iOS 8 notification response with Bluetooth keyboard

When I receive a text message and tap on "Respond" in the notification, I am unable to type in dialog that pops up when my Bluetooth Keyboard. Even if I bring up an on-screen keyboard, it still won't take any input. When I turned Bluetooth off, I was able to respond in the dialog without a hitch. This looks like an iOS 8 bug to me, but I figured I'd post here and see if anyone else is having a similar problem.

When I go into "Settings", "Cellular Data" "View Account" when I'm prompted for username and password no on screen keyboard pops up and it will not take input from my bluetooth keyboard. It wont show on screen keyboard even if I have my bluetooth keyboard turned off before I go into settings....

i have a mx5500 logitech bluetooth mouse and keyboard but i dnt know how to conect it with my nokia N8. cn anyone help me? my bluetooth mx5500 logitech mouse and keyboard come with a usb bluetooth reciever that i plug in my pc so that the mouse n keyboard work but when i search for input devices from N8, it does not find any of them. how to connect them to my N*?

have successfully paired the Logitech M-RCQ142 mouse. However, it is not able to consistently remain connected. It connects, then later disconnects, then reconnects, over and over again. Periodically, too, it will stop functioning - the cursor stuck in place, but the mouse is unresponsive. When this happens, the Bluetooth screen still displays that the mouse is connected.
The same thing is happening with the Think Outside model XTBT01 iGo Ultra-Slim Keyboard. It's connected, then disconnected. I have to manually re-connect the keyboard. Then, a few minutes later, it's spontaneously disconnected again.
Occassionally, when either the mouse or keyboard becomes disconnected, and I attempt to manually reconnect, the N8 responds with an error message that the maximum number of connections have been made (at this point, there are zero Bluetooth connections). I have to turn off Bluetooth, at which point the Bluetooth control panel freezes up and has to be forced to close. Wait a few moments, then restart Bluetooth and I'm able to manually reconnect the devices.
A real pain.
So, once you find some devices that will pair, you're stuck trying to figure out why the connection is so easily broken and so difficult to restore.
If anyone has cracked this nut - identified a reason why the connections are so fragile - I'd sure like to hear it.

Can you create a keyboard short cut for the dictation mic with bluetooth keyboards? The multi-button requirement to open the onscreen is annoying and unintuitive.

(Using an "iPad 3", i dont care what apple calls it) There should be a built in one button access to this from EVERY keyboard since this function is used to replace typing. An inherent Apple shortcut like copy and paste. I set my iPad up on a framed photo holder and use it like a moniter screen when I write, my Bluetooth keyboard is separated from it and makes writing comments and long articles less efficient because it requires extra steps with every dictation, while taking up screen space to have the on screen open. There needs to be a way to access dictation without the onscreen keyboard open, via any standard keyboard.

Finally, your first post answered my question directly. Thank you. However under General/Keyboard, at the bottom you can make keyboard shortcuts. They may not function how I'm asking, but you can make them.

Macbook pro does not respond to bluetooth keyboard and mouse at login screen

i've seen this question floating around and i don't think i've found one that has been resolved. i'm hoping someone may have an answer by now.
i do not have this issue when i boot into windows 7 (bootcamp) the macbook pro responds to keyboard input and mouse input immediately on the windows 7 login screen. when i boot into mac, there is no response from either. i've seen suggestions of waiting for 30 secods. i still get nothing after waiting for over a minute.
what i do right now is use the built-in touch pad and keyboard of the macbook pro to get past the login screen. once i'm logged in, i can see that the bluetooth devices are not yet connected (the three dots that go across the bluetooth symbol at the top right of the screen are not yet there). then after a while, maybe about half a minute, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse are connected and i can use them normally.
it is not a big deal but it is very annoying.
i am using a logitech bluetooth mouse (v740) and an adesso bluetooth keyboard (wkb-4000bm). i also tried an azio bluetooth keyboard and had the same issue. all these keyboards are made for mac.

just a correction, the keyboard and mouse don't always automatically reconnect once i'm logged in. most of the time i have to go click the bluetooth icon at the top right of my screen, select the mouse and then select "connect". i have to do the same to the keyboard.

I have a macbook pro with retina display which I am using with two apple 27" monitors. I use a logitech K811 bluetooth keyboard while the macbook is closed. I would like to be able to boot from the keyboard directly. Does anyone know how to do this? I believe I saw instructions somewhere but cannot find them.

It sounds like you are needing to set your Mac to let bluetooth devices wake it from sleep. You can do this in your System Preferences:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth.
Click Advanced.
Select the “Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer” checkbox.

Can I use USB mouse with bluetooth keyboard?

I am in need of some help. I recently got my iMac about 3 months ago and absolutely hate the magic mouse and want to use my rocketfish usb mouse along with the bluetooth mac keyboard. Is this possible or just wishful thinking on my end? I have searched everywhere for drivers and answers with programs etcetera and have came out empty. Help?

I've done so (and even tested it on my Macbook and the USB mouse works fine) but for some reason it will not interface with my iMac - and I've tired multiple USB ports and still nothing, which is why I brought up the keyboard being bluetooth I didn't know if that somehow may interfer with the USB mouse when the bluetooth keyboard is turned on and paired. I am pretty good when it comes to computers so I know what to look for and what I am doing (for the most part) but this has me stumped.

Startup key combinations with bluetooth keyboard?

In Lion, accessing the recovery partition entails holding down the command-R key combination at startup. Selecting a startup disk and starting up in Safe Boot mode also require holding key combinations at startup.
But under Lion and a bluetooth keyboard, none of these key combinations work. A wired keyboard works fine, but I no longer have one.
A friend who downloaded and installed Lion today just called and asked how he can do this with HIS bluetooth keyboard, so this seems to be a general concern.

Some PC keyboards may map it to the Windows key, but on most it should be ALT.

How do you start the apple hardware test on an imac with a bluetooth keyboard as the instructions is to press the D key whilst restarting? And of course the imac cant see the keyboard whilst booting up as the bluetooth connection has yet to be established

Have you tried following the directions for running it from the DVD? The instructions are on the Hardware Test link.If you are correct and it cannot due to the wireless keyboard not making a connection you will need to borrow a wired USB keyboard.

Multiple key press's with Bluetooth Keyboard

I'm ready to update my mac to a new G5 imac and fancy getting the wireless bluetooth keyboard and mouse with it.
I have one question, has anyone experienced problems when holding down multiple keys on the keyboard and moving the mouse all at once (Using illustrator)?
In my office I have the misfortune of having to use a PC, I have had a number of wireless keyboard and mouse combos, all of them when using Illustrator and photoshop can not handle multiple key press's and mouse movement.
ie if I'm duplicating an object by dragging a copy of it across the screen, on the PC it will work but it always "releases" after a couple of seconds and drops the copy in the where I don't want it which gets very frustrating (this only happens with wireless).
As I do a lot of work at home, I hoping this wont be the case with the mac's bluetooth K & M.

The shift key works just fine on my Bluetooth keyboard. So I would imagine this is an issue with your keyboard.

Boot options with Bluetooth keyboard

I have an Intel iMac that came with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. There are a variety of options that can be used when you boot the Mac, such as hold down the C key to boot from a CD/DVD, hold down the option key to choose the boot drive, etc. When you have a BT keyboard, it doesn't connect until it is booted. How do you get the iMac to recognize, say, the Option key?
