Ekiga and audigy sound card | no sound

If I launched Ekiga under terminal window, so no debug messages are not visible.
A configuring the sound in the program is simple, but I can not configure the program so that to hear the sound (audio out).
A list of audio devices is not big:
And I try all of these devices. inconclusive.
Does anyone know how to debug that problem.
In all other applications have sound.
Thanks.

  • Boston Acoustic Digital Speakers and Audigy 2zs card for notebook

Please help, I have a Boston Acoustic Digital Speakers and an IBM T43P notebook computer that i just purchased a Sound blaster Audigy 2 Zs pcimia card for. the problem is that when i connect the digital speakers i get no sound. I tried looking for the digital output option but cant find one on my computer

No, their external card don't have those digital out jack. You have to go for their pci sound card if not guess it's time you change those speaker.

  • People with msi neo 2 mobo's and audigy 2 cards please read

I was wondering what pci slot you have your sound card in as mine is in the orange slot and have noticed pauses in games for no reason. The on board ethernet is sharing the same irq as the gfx card within windows and was wondering if i moved the sound card to another slot it may free up an irq for the ethernet. Or am i wrong, does it share with the agp anyway?

Even though mine is Neo Vanilla, the IRQ landscape shouldn't be that much different. With the nForce chipset, slot 3 has always been the sweetspot.
Just putting it in any slot is asking for trouble. What you need to be looking at is IRQ allocation in either the Device Manager, or System Info.
That will give you a good idea what is going on.
    For instance, here's mine...
    IRQ 0   System timer   OK
IRQ 1   Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard   OK
IRQ 4   Communications Port (COM1)   OK
IRQ 5   WinFast TV2000 XP WDM Audio Capture   OK
IRQ 6   Standard floppy disk controller   OK
IRQ 8   System CMOS/real time clock   OK
IRQ 9   Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System   OK
IRQ 11   NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management   OK
IRQ 12   PS/2 Compatible Mouse   OK
IRQ 13   Numeric data processor   OK
IRQ 14   Primary IDE Channel   OK
IRQ 15   Secondary IDE Channel   OK
IRQ 16   RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition   OK
IRQ 17   WinFast TV2000 XP WDM Video Capture   OK
IRQ 18   Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM)   OK
IRQ 19   OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller   OK
IRQ 20   Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller   OK
IRQ 21   NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator   OK
IRQ 22   Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller   OK
IRQ 23   Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller   OK
If you have anything sharing then you have a "Less than Optimal" configuration. If you haven't had problems, great! Creatives drivers have actually improved, as has the hardware these days in being more tolerant of the many configurations that can take place, but you are asking for problems or selling your system short as far as optimal performance goes if you have a sharing situation.

  • Installed New Sound Card - NO SOUND !!

Well, I have tried everything I can think of
Here is a history of previous posts
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4323632&#4323632
    Anymore suggestions ?

Check the Audio Midi Setup application and make sure it is set for 44.1 kHz output.
Sometimes after updates it jumps to 96 kHz, and that causes the sound output to go bad.
If that doesn't help, and the place you got it repaired was an authorized service center, contact AppleCare at 1-800-APLCARE.
If that doesn't help, and it wasn't an authorized service center, contact the place that repaired it and let them know it was botched up.

It really depends on what you're doing and your speaker configuration.
If it is cheap in comparison to other price checking, it may be worth it.
I have the exats same board and used the onboard sound for a few months until I got sick of it not doing what I was used to like the MCP-T southbridge of the NF1 & 1 (Soundstorm) I wasn't using digital out and I have the speakers in my signature. With my TV card, I was unable to get sound in all 4 speakers correctly and I was unable to control the bass. I had tried both the drivers from the CD and the latest Realtek drivers.
I just did not like it much at all so I had a SB live 5.1 card I had lying on a shelf. I downloaded the latest drivers with the same skepticism as TireSmoke has. My findings are that the drivers have greatly improved and you don't have to install the bloated utilities that are associated with Creative drivers. It worked the way I wanted it to for the most part without any issue.
What I found is the onboard sound seems a little deeper and warmer as opposed to the Creative solution but I was willing to give that up for the functionality. The Creative sounds a little stronger in the midrange and highs and the Bass was just slightly muted but still acceptable.
I then graduated to the Audigy 2 ZS in my signature and the sound is slightly better and I have to say that Creative is doing a better job with the drivers. I did install with all the options just to see what impact it all has. I have to say, my only complaint is the look and feel of the interfaces still look a little cheesy but I have the option to disable most of that or simply not install any of it except the drivers.

  • Windows Update installed the drivers for the wrong sound card?

I need serious help with this one.
It all started October 31st when I find that Windows Update lists an update for my sound card - a Sound Blaster Li've! 24bit internal card. I install it, reboot, and realize that my sound is not coming through the speakers (Note, sound was working before I installed this update. I'm not even sure if the sound card is processing to it). I realized that Windows Update seemed to have installed the drivers for the wrong sound card. It installed drivers for "SB Audigy" (it was originally SB Li've!), why they chose to be so generic - I don't know. I later find out that not even Creative's website has this updated driver, but apparently, only Windows Update is issuing this out.
But wait, it gets even more frustrating.
So I don't have System Restore enabled (big resource hog), and I need to go back to the older drivers. I originally do a driver rollback using the Device Manager, which made the drivers go back to what they were before - but still wasn't outputting sound. I think even though the older drivers were being used by Windows, the software that Creative issued wasn't picking up this fact and thought I still using the newer ones for Audigy. So I decided to uninstall everything and start with an actual driver installation executable from Creative's website (SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe). What I found out was that if new drivers are detected, I can't actually install over them.
However, if I uninstall the drivers using the Device Manager, it'll automatically install everything - the control panel, the preferences, drivers, etc for the new "SB Audigy" drivers that were issued Oct 3st once I scan for hardware changes. The reason I need to scan for hardware changes is because if I uninstall the drivers from the Device Manager, it'll remove the instance of "SB Audigy" from the list. This causes problems for the installer for the older drivers (SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe) because now it thinks there isn't any hardware to install the drivers for (all because I haven't made the Device Manager actually discover my actual sound card, yet unless I press "Scan for Hardware changes" which as a result, will install the newer drivers from Oct 3st automatically. I hope this makes sense so far).
So now I can't uninstall the newer incorrect drivers so I can install the older ones for the actual sound card. Normally I heard that you can change something in the new driver's installation executable to properly uninstall everything. Only problem is, Windows Update doesn't exactly tell you where it's downloading the driver/hardware installation files. I know in the Software Distribution you can find Windows Update stuff downloading there - but I couldn't find the SB Audigy driver update it keeps installing while "scanning for hardware changes" in the Device Manager.
This was incredibly hard to put into detail, so I hope that it makes a little bit of sense. If you need clarification on anything please let me know and I'll do anything to help eliminate the problem. Just remember I have:
    Windows 7 x64
    Sound Blaster Li've! 24bit
I think the only problem I'd like to solve is - how could I install older drivers if Windows keeps installing the newer ones even after I uninstall them? Because right now, I can't do much unless I know how to get rid of the installation files for the Oct 3st update so it won't have anything to use. Another way to rephrase the question is, how could I get the Device Manager in Windows to display my soundcard as "Multimedia Audio Controller" for as long as I need so I can run SB24_PCDRV_LB__04_0090.exe which will then detect that there is a sound card that can use the drivers and install them properly?
Thanks for your help guys, I hope we can solve this. Because I've done everything I could. Hopefully I don't need to reinstall the operating system just so I can have sound working.

Click on Start> ALL Programs > Creative > Creative Audio Console.
Make sure speakers are set to 5. if that's what you're using. I like to Synchronize with Windows Control Panel. Turn EAX to No effects, and/or turn effects to 0%. On the CMSS 3D Tab, turn the Mode to OFF.

  • Cannot connect my mic+headphones to the sound card.any he

I can connect the mic wire to the sound card(creative sound blaster audigy 5.)?but i dont have another exit for my headphones wire, so i can talk but i cant hear anything in the headphones - the sound is coming only from the speakers.is there anyway do make the sound go bothways, to the headphones and to the speakers?i tried to connect the headphones to the motherboard soundcard but it didnt have much use....And are there any extension cables so i can extend my headphone wire and connect it to the speaker headphone exit's?Thanks for your attention people.Looking forward to your replies.

  • Latest Update Causes Problem with Creative Sound Card?

I installed the latest Quicktime update (7.3.1) and Windows Media Player would no longer work, giving me a message that my sound card (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy) was broken. I ran the sound card diagnostics and indeed it failed several of the the test (particularly wav files). I also tried streaming music via my XM radio subscription and that also did not work.
I reverted my system to its previous state (before the Quicktime update) with Norton GoBack, and now everything works again.
Anyone have a similar problem? Is this a bug or perhaps was there a glitch in the installation that caused this?
    Thanks,
    wasaguru

I'm not having that problem, but I am having a problem of my computer being locked up once it goes into sleep mode.

Well, first of all, use the tags to format your code.
Second of all, your code looks pretty horrible (fair enough, you posted in New to Java).
Lastly, the error message seems to be quite clear, you're trying to open a SourceDataLine with an unsupported format.
Where did you get this code?

  • Having trouble with my Xtreme Gamer sound card

I have an Alienware computer that came with the card and its software pre-installed. It has worked fine until today when BF2 would no longer recognize the card. When I uninstalled the software to reinstall it, it said I didn't have any devices. What should I do? I want to refrain from opening the case. Thanks!

Ya know, it is funny I ran across this thread. I am having the exact same problem with my Alienware and am currently working at trying to resolve it. So far I tried to force the drivers and it did not seem to like that so much. Older patch I found?didn't work. I think my next step is to uninstall everything creative and crack the case open and try removing the card. Then try a different slot if able or boot the comp a couple times without it, and then install it back in the?same slot. No IRQ?problems I checked that. I read somewhere that sometimes something in the bios can bug out and it needs to be re-checked in. Not sure of the exact terms of it atm, but I hope you get the idea. A quick fix that I did find that should work for you as well is to make sure?all?Creative?drivers are cleaned out and then use windows update to search for optional downloads. It finds a driver for the X-Fi that actually works.
Below is a copy/paste of a request for help?I placed on the Alienware boards just to give you an idea of where I am at. /startcopy?<span class="normalTextSmall">Hello,
I am at my wits end here. So figured I would come here and ask for some input. Basicly the problem I am having is I have poping/crackling sounds coming from my speakers while playing FSX. What is wierd is it only happens in certain missions and/or planes. It also sounded way messed up at the desktop and during sound tests but I was able to fix that by changing the freq to 24bit lowest hrtz setting studio quality.
I have been doing a ton of research into this problem and it would seem if I updated my drivers there is a good chance there is a fix in there for me.. I would hope so as I have tried everything under the sun. Known knowledge and reading every forum I could find.
The big problem I can't seem to over come is that no matter which drivers I use they tell me I am unable to use them because they do not see a Creative X-Fi on my machine. The newest Creative drivers tell me this. Even the Creative drivers that came with my AW backup disk act the same way. The only driver that I could get to work is the one that windows update supplies when the driver is fully uninstalled. What is even funnier is that when I use my AW Respawn disk that is also installs the same exact drivers that Windows Update installs for that card. Which are ancient. Antique really.
So why would no new Creative drivers want to work? No AW supplied backup drivers want to work? No downloaded X-Fi drivers downloaded from AW site want to work. And why would AW give me a driver for backup when even they themselves obviously did not get that one to work because the respawn disk uses the same old drivers windows update supplies when no drivers are installed?
I have tried Winzip to unpack the the .exe file and update wizard says that I have the best drivers already installed. Even though these ones just came out. I have even tried to force the drivers in with the have disk option and that just resulted in an unbootable pc thanks to the blue screen of death right after bios flash screen.
So, how do I get any Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer drivers to install. I have to be able to update them, in hopes that they will fix my crackling/static problem..
Just got the machine the other day so I haven't tried installing other games. And I do realize that AW is not respossible for FSX issues. But I really do find it odd that even my backup drivers won't work, and they were not even used anyways during the build process.. I would have hoped this issue would have been fixed in house then. So it has me really concerned.
What is my next step? Bios update?(this computer was built around Nov st 07.), Move card around maybe?(shouldn't this have been done before shipping?).. oh my head hurts from this one. I have never had to fold and give up and come to a forum for help. I am truly stumped.

  • Sound card or virtual sound card for HP Proliant DL380 G5

    Greetings.
I need help. I have an extremely useful and great HP Proliant DL380 G5 server, I had a technician who had installed a software to this server due (according to his word) it didn't have a sound card attached to it. Now, due he was fired from the company for several issues he uninstall all software for sound devices, confirming this sever didn't have a sound card or sound dirver. I need to know the following. 1.- What kind of sound card do i need to install in my server, if possible? 2.- where i could find a virutal sound card or driver that help me out to solve this issue.
I am not a computer literate relate to servers and how they work, I am in the learning curve at this moment, I don't have to much experience working with severs, this is one of those first time handling situations once they show up. Learning to avoid technicians doing the same in the future and leaving the company in a serious situation.
I do appreciate any help you guys can provide me over this.
    Best Regards

  • Treble & Bass Controls For SoundMAX Sound Card?

Hi.  I have a T61 with a SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio sound card.  Just wondering if there is any way I can adjust the bass & treble controls.  I have confirmed I have the most recent drivers, and when I do Control panel > Hardware and Sound > Change System Sounds > Playback Tab > Highlight Speakers SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio and select Properties, I only have 3 tabs - General, Levels and Advanced, and none of them have anything about bass & treble.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi!
I just bought a used T60 also with a integrated Digital HD sound card. Sound/Audio is working. Problem is: The audiomixer shows control-sliders for Bass and Treble. But they are greyed out and both set to minimum. Result is: The audio sounds pretty low/poor - nearly unusable. To make it work I need a solution to increase the Treble Slider or the Treble itself to a higher value.I have confirmed I used the most recent drivers. OS is: Windows XP Prof Ver. 2002, SP3.
    Thanks in advance

  • Cirrus Logic sound card not working - Just a quick question (iMac 27-inch)

Hi, so as many have experienced, my sound card is not registering on my new iMac, on the Windows Vista side. I get sound out of the Mac side, just nothing from Windows.
I was wondering, would a USB sound card or sound pod solve the problem? I am not amazing with computers... But would buying one of those be a possibility?
I was looking at something like this...
    http://www.emicrophones.com/p-1230-andrea-pure-audio-usb-sa-full-duplex-usb-soun d-pod.aspx
If anyone who knows what they're talking about could give me some input on this, it would be greatly appreciated. I do a lot of video editing on the Windows side, so having no sound would be an extreme burden.

Hi - I had this problem when I installed WIndows Vista (32 bit) on my i5 iMac. I believe I resolved the problems by finding the drivers on the OSX install disk. What I am struggling with is updating the video drivers - but that is another story...
