The Problem: Since I got 4.0 and later, I have not been able to sync photos from iphoto. itunes says that it is, the bar moves and says all photos have been synced, all the photos I want synced are checked in itunes and still nothing when I check them on my ipod. iPod says no photos in album. I tried deleting the ipod cache on my mac, nothing. I tried syncing to a single file folder with the same photos, same. I tried exporting all the photos I wanted synced to a separate folder to jpg and smaller resolution, same result, no photos on ipod.
Note. the photos used to sync up until 4.0
I have also tried starting from scratch and putting it back to factory defaults then going from backup. Same result.
I have tried rebooting both iMac and iPod, same thing.
and I hate how I can't just email apple and tell them the problem.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I just can't seem to find anyone else with the same problem.

I dont get an error message at all. itunes just does its normal business when syncing and says its synced, but no photos. I have never tried mobile me, so I dont think my problem is connected. I dont have $300 to get a new ipod. this makes me sad.

I just got a ipod touch 2nd gen (8gb) from a friend.
This ipod has some problem.. it is running by itself! When I on it, and for example go to Settings, it will just randomly go to a next selection as if responding to my selection but I never touch anything.. I've tried to reset to factory settings and it's updated to ios4.2.1 but still no use..

I've had this problem from about two weeks and I forgot about it, but today I wanted to play on it and remembered that it's not working, I've tried connecting it to iTunes via my laptop but I'm not to sure how to update it because I thought that might fix it, but no luck. Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer? If so you can only use the manual method and that only works with music and videos.

I have an IPOD Nano 4th Generation 8GB and am unable to restore it back to factory settings even when it is connected to my MAC. I have tried the menu/select hold but is not doing anything. When connected to the MAC and select restore in itunes it comes up with 'Firmware Corrupt'. It also states the IPOD is up to date. I have the latest operating system on my MAC and wonder if this may be part of the issue?
Can anyone shed light as to what i can do to reset it back to factory settings as would like to sell it and ensure it is ready for the new owner.

Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

I had a similar problem and after deleting endlessly...and weeks of frustration I (without even realizing what I was on to) deleted my text messages. I had been letting them add up since it seemed easier to text someone if it were readily available. Needless to say, I ended up with nearly double the space/memory available.

I bought my ipod touch 3rd generation 8GB last November. At first when I transfered songs and apps to my ipod it said that the maximum capacity was 8Gb, but know when I use it my computer says that the maximum capacity for my ipod is only 7GB. I want to know why it can only hold one less GB then it started out with and what i payed for.

It wasn't truely 8Gb to start with. For one thing the iphone os takes up space and lowers the amount. Secondly, the formatted capacity is less. 1024MB is really 1GB so a true 8GB is 8192MB but what is actually supplied is roughly 8000MB. All companies that advertise storage capacity use this method.
