Elapsed time too Long for the report

I have report that is taking a very log time to load when I click on 'All Pages' button. Viewing initial 25 records is quick and paging through records 25 at a time also gives very good performance, around 1-2 secs but viewing all records is slow and scrolling through all the records is also jerky. The browser seems to be hanging after each click. The report is combining data from 3 fact tables and also has 2 columns that have navigation links behind them. All this must be adding the time to render the report, but still the difference is too large. Looking at the logs, the queries ae returning from the database in 15 secs.
I have also observed different behaviours depending on the browser. IE7 is slow and jerky after all the records are displayed. In IE6, the browser hangs for 15 mins in the beginning but after 15 mins, it returns back to normal and scrolling is smooth. In Firefox, the browser hangs for 20-25 secs in the beginning, but once all the records are displayed, it behaves normally. Is there anything that can be done to remove the jerkyness in IE6 while scrolling? Are there any IE setting or setting on BI server side I can change to help with this situation?
Thank you!

In my experience, DSL Service Ready activation does take anywhere from two weeks to a month. The last time I ordered DSL from Verizon (which, admittedly was about 5-6 years ago), I had to wait 6 weeks for it to be activated, because they had to install a new set of DSLAM equipment to serve my street.
That may be what is happening in your case. All I can say is be patient and follow up regularly with Verizon. Activating DSL service is not a turnkey operation.

  • Time to open Web forms too long for the first connexion !!

    Hi
When we first open a web form in the day, the time to open it, is greater than 10 minuts ( the CPU time used to retrieve the webform is measured at about 20 seconds)
When we do open the webform a second time it takes about 20 seconds to open it!!
    Have someone meet this case?
What do we have to change in order to enhance the openning duration of the webforms?

Does it take 10 minutes to open on the server, if it takes 10 minutes on the server and only 20 seconds of that is CPU processing then are you saying for over 9 minutes it is rendering the form in your browser, you can check the browser process on the machine.
If you do want to check or increase the maximum heap size then have a read of :- Re: Heap sizes with Planning11.1.1.3 & Weblogic help
I would also check how much memory the JVM is using when opening the form, you can check using task manager on the server or better still use something like process explorer.

  • Elapsed Timer Too Long?

Is there a limit to the duration I can input into an elapsed timer VI? In my program the user can specify a duration of up to 24 hrs. My program is supposed to hold current conditions for the specified durations. When the user sets it 1, 2, 3 or four hours it holds the current conditions fine. When they set it to 24 hours the current conditions are not held for 24 hours. Is this too long of a duration for this VI (86,400 seconds)?
    thanks.

    rchaoua wrote:
The question regarding maximum duration a elapsed time VI has still not been answered.
You can convert the "elapsed time" express VI to a plain VI by "right-click...open front panel" and inspect the code yourself. There are no secrets! You can see that it converts the timestamp to DBL and operates on the lower precision DBL values. This should be sufficient for much more than 24 hours, so something else is wrong in your case.
Can you attach an example that shows the incorrect behavior (=premature elapsation?).
    rchaoua wrote:
But I have another question; Can you have multiple elapsed time VI in a single piece of code and not have it affect the other elapsed VIs?  I have three elapsed timers in my code (in different panels) and get the sneaking supsicion that they are not behaving nicely with each other. But I am not sure. I was hoping someone has expereince with this scenario and could shed some light.
The crucial subVIs are reentrant and thus there should be no interaction between multiple instances of the "elapsed time" express VI. Each will keep it's own state. Why do you suspect that they interact?

  • My sync key, which i copied off the website, is too long for the firefox home 3 boxes. what should i do?

i'm trying to create sync between my iphone and desktop.
i followed instructions to download firefox home from itunes and got a really long sync key: x-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
then went go firefox and to preferences and sync and add a device but the sync key is way too long to go into the 3 boxes.
    what do i do?
    thanks

You do not have to enter the syn key in the three boxes on that page.<br />
That is meant for a special code that can be used instead of the user name and sync key for easy set up.<br />
If you do not have that shorter code then click the link at the bottom "I don't have the device with me" to get a window where you can enter all details.

  • Time too long for refresh a BO document in remote access connection

    Hello,
One hour to refresh a bo document (.rep) in remote access connection with openvpn or cisco vpn behind a livebox or a 3G key while this take one minute in local network environment...
For information BO is on a vmware virtual machine and the database is on a iséries as400.
    Thank's for your help

BO has no controls over VPN or network bamdwith, it takes what OS and DB drivers give it.
You'll need to identify at which point of the workflow to refresh the report the slowness is occuring.
You'll need to enable webi tracing and see how long the actual refresh take.
You'll need to enable network traces to see where in the network the slowdown is occuring.

  • How long is too long for the IPod to download from ITunes??

I just swapped my busted IPod for a new one and the installation process seemed to be going fine. I've updated the new IPod, but now I've plugged it in to download my ITunes and it's still blinking Do Not Disconnect after 12 hours!! Isn't this too long? I mean, I have about 2500 songs, so I expected it to take a while, but this seems a bit extreme...what do I do?

  • RE: RD 330 Rail Kit too long for the application space

This is my first time posting, I hope I have submitted this to the correct forum..
    My situation:
We have a Middle Atlantic Rack system model RS-46-28, with 46U and a center unit depth of 23.5 in, the Lenovo servers we are using (RD340E1Us, 3 of them) have a minimun span on the mount rails of 29.5 in, in order to get the servers mounted (correctly!) is there a alternate rail kit for the smaller depth of 23.5 inches, or do I need to purchase 3rd party rail kits.  The servers are configured and production ready, switching them, is not a workable option.
Any experience with this rack system or situation?

    Hi Gus,
I am not familiar with the rack you specified, however here is some information on our rail kit:
"The rack cabinet must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Standard 4-post (square-hole), 19-inch rack configuration compliant with EIA-310-E as defined by the
    Electronic Industries Alliance
    • Standard 4-post (unthreaded round-hole), 19-inch rack configuration compliant with EIA-310-E as defined

  • Are Skype support response times too long for you?

    Just answer yes or no....
....and then tell me how long you waited.
    i.e. Yes 7 hours
I'm really interested in finding out how much I can rely on this forum for a quick response to problems as I use Skype to communicate with my customers, suppliers and colleagues worldwide.
The response time to critical questions like "because of a 'technical problem at Skype" I can't allocate credit to my coworkers so as they can call up their contacts phones" - (a.k.a I want to give Skype some money) is unreasonably long. I'm trying to guage how long I can expect to wait.

    Hello  sonic,
I see you are asking about response time on the forum for questions to be answered.
Well, it just depends on who is online at the time you post your question.  We have many professional users like TheUberOverlord and Primemover that are here all the time and answer qualified questions all day.  The Skype Enterprise Team are here 24/7 but are sometimes answering Chats from customers in the Live Chat Sessions of Skype Manager.
If you want an immediate response, you need to log into your Skype Manager and click on the Chat Button in the top right of that screen and you will be connected to us immediately.  We are here 24/7 for your support.  It is a Business Class Service and we talk to customers from all over the world day and night. We are here to get customers PBX's and SIP compatable devices connected to Skype Connect and can answer most any question on products and devices.
Thank You for using Skype and the Skype Community Forums.

  • OracleDataReader.Read taking too long for the first record

    Hi Guys
I am new to ODP.Net. This is my first time working with Oracle and ODP.Net. I wrote a small stored procedure which returns 25 rows and returns a sys_refcursor. I am capturing that in a OracleDataReader and trying to process the data. I use this in a while loop... the first Read is taking around 10 seconds and from the second on, it is pretty quick. Stored procedure performace is really good when I run it from the SQLPlus or data execute call from .Net. Both web server and database are in the same network, which is really good.
Any idea what's going on? Any links or articles ro any help will be greatly appreciated...
I am using Oracle 10g with ODP.net 10.2.0.2.20. and using .Net Framework 3.5 with Visual Studio 2008.
Here is the code I am using (it is really simple)
Private Sub FillSearchResults(ByVal DR As Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleDataReader)
    Dim objSearch As OCPAFL.DAL.Search
Dim objList As New List(Of Parcel)
    Try
    'Walk through Projects
    While DR.Read()
    ''''.... do the processing here
    End While
    Catch ex As Exception
    Throw ex
    End Try
    End Sub
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Hi,
I dont have any good ideas as to what may be causing it based on the limited information provided, but here's what I'd do to try to troubleshoot it further:
    1) Enable client sqlnet tracing (level 16) with timestamps on, and/or ODP tracing, reproduce the complaint, and loook in the trace to see if you can find a gap in the timestamps to try to isolate where the time is being consumed. Is there one 10 second gap? Numerous 2 second gaps? etc. Is the client waiting on data from the server?
    2) Enable 10046 trace on the database before executing the proc in the app and check the resulting database trace. Are binds occurring differently? Is anything occurring differently in the execution plan using ODP vs SQLPlus?
Oh, also, support for .NET 3.5 starts with 11.1.6.20 ODP, but I rather doubt that's causing the problem.
    Hope it helps,
    Greg

  • Loading time too long for my native application

    Hello,
I've built an exe width adt and i regret that there is no screen to inform the user while the application "preparing the installation" when you execute it as does the air application.
The problem is : when I executes the exe application , it seems that nothing happens for about ten seconds.
I use this syntax to build my app :
    adt -package %OPTIONS% %SIGNING_OPTIONS% -target native [WINDOWS_INSTALLER_SIGNING_OPTIONS] %EXE_PATH%\%EXE_NAME%.exe %APP_XML% %FILE_OR_DIR%
Does adt, or Adobe offer a solution, that solve the problem ? (I'd like to avoid having to hack myself or with the help of a software like "Advance Installer" the installation of my app)
    Thank a lot.

How large is the installer?  I suspect the delay is due to the self extraction taking place.
I took a look in our internal database and it appears we had something similar entered back in 2010 that was unfortunately deferred.  At this point, I'd recommend using a captive runtime and rolling your own installer with it's own UI.  The other alternative is to add a bug/feature request over at bugbase.adobe.com, then let the community know so that others can add comments and cast votes for it.
    Thanks,
    Chris

This is a really hard post to read. See if you can take a bit of time to reword it, but one thing I do understand is that you are getting this error:
page header plus page footer too large for the page.
Typically, you can trust that if the error is thrown, it is true. E.g.; this is not one of those errors that says one thing, and means another. I suspect that you have some field(s) in the header(s) that grow, depending on the data. If there is too much data or the data is too long ( a text for example), the error will be thrown. To resolve this, see if placing the field(s) into a group footer / header will help.

  • Crystal Reports 9: Page Header plus Page Footer is too large for the page.

    Hi,
I have a report that has the following sections.
    GH1
    GH2a
    GH2b - has a sub report
GH2c - has another sub report
    GH3
    GH4
    GH5
    details - suppressed
    GF5 - suppressed
    GF4 - suppressed
    GF3 - suppressed
    GF2 - suppressed
    GF1 - suppressed
The report works fine wehn I run it using Crystal Designer.I am using CR version 9.2.2.693.
When I try to load the report in my application, I get the following error.
    Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer
Page Header plus Page Footer is too large for the page.Error in File rptName.rpt:
Page header or footer longer than a page.
    OK
There are no 'suppress blank sections' option set in the sections where the sub-Reports are.
I also tried setting the No Default Printer option.
The report gets loaded from the application only when I set 'New Page after' in the sections where there are sub-Reports.
I do not want to do this; Is there a workaround?
    Thank you.

Can someone tell me if this problem is being worked on as it looks as thogh none of the problems regarding the message u2018Page Header plus Page Footer is too large for the pageu2019 have been addressed.
We have several reports that were written in Crystal 7 (I think) and worked in Crystal 9 and X1R2 but now give the above error. We have tried jigging the report in line with the various suggestions but at best can get them to run through successfully with one lot of data and then fail on the second or subsequent pages when you vary the data or report format even slightly. We can report on every bit of data separately or in various combinations but not in others. Changing the bottom page margin by 0.01 cm can cause it to fail on page 7 instead of page 530 (for example). We certainly do not have large page headers (just over 2cm) or page footers (about 0.3cm). We do have some subreports in the details section but have used 'fit to section', added 'keep together', removed u2018keep togetheru2019 from just about everything we can (in desperation) but to no avail. We cannot see a pattern to what is happening. It would be encouraging to know that someone is actually working on this fault.

  • Used Time Machine Backup Today- Now This backup is too large for the backup

    Hey Everyone!
    Some advice please,
My Hard Drive recently crashed. Fortunately, I've been using Time Machine. Apple Store gave me a new Hard Drive (for free), and I came home and restored to Time Machine. I am very impressed, and have lost no data or applications.
So now I have a problem. I can no longer back my hard drive, presumably because there were so many changes to the software today. I am getting This backup is too large for the backup volume. What is the easiest way to delete my old time machine backup and start from scratch with my computer in its current state? Everything seems to be working smoothly, so I don't see any reason to keep my old backups. Any suggestions? Is there any logical reason why I would keep the old backup?

    Thanks Barry!
I called Apple (had to anyway for a new OS Leopard DVD) and he had me go into Disk Utility and choose Erase Disk (as you suggested). I didn't have to do any formatting.
The next step was to go into System Preferences and select Change Disk and set it to None. After that, he had me choose Change Disk again, and select the USB drive, and click Use For Backup.
Now it's backing up the new version of my computer. Problem solved. Thank you.
After having to get an brand new Hard Drive today, I highly recommend that everyone purchase some kind of external hard drive and run Time Machine regularly. Although the backups get large, I've never experienced such a pleasant experience getting my files back after a hard drive failure. This is awesome technology. I can't believe 95% of my applications still worked.

  • The message I get is: Time Machine could not complete the backup. This backup is too large for the backup disk. The backup requires 111.27 GB but only 42.1 GB are available.

I have a problem with my Time Capsule.  The message I get is: Time Machine could not complete the backup. This backup is too large for the backup disk. The backup requires 111.27 GB but only 42.1 GB are available. As a result, my backups are no longer running. My umderstanding was that the Time Capsule would automatically delete old backups to make space. Can anyone help me figure out how to get my backups to run again?

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.

  • HT4522 Multiple computers on Time Capsule.  "Backup is too large for the backup disk"   ???

I am getting the following error:
    "Time Machine Error
This backup is too large for the backup disk. The
backup requires 15.38 GB but only 3.94 GB are
    available."
I have a two MacBook Pros that I have been backing up to my 1 TB Time Capsule using Time Machine.  Recently, I have started getting errors saying that there is not enough space to complete backups.  Between the two MacBook Pros, there is a max of 400 GB that I am trying to backup.  I thought that old backups were deleted to make room for new ones - so what gives?
I used Migration Assistant to migrate everything from the old MacBook Pro (2009) to a new MacBook Pro (2011).  I also used Migration Assistant to Migrate everything from an old MacBook to the old MacBook Pro (2009).  So, I am now only using the two MacBook Pros (2009 and 2011).
Is it possible that there are old backups on the Time Capsule from the MacBook and the MacBook Pro (2009) from before the Migration?  If so, how do I find them and delete them?
My goal is to create more space on the Time Capsule so I can continue backups of the two Pros.  Thanks for the help in advance.  Sorry if this is confusing.  Please ask questions to clarify.

The time machine does not work as well when there are multiple computers using the TC.
It really does not seem able to dispose of the old backups.
    Pondini may help..
    http://pondini.org/TM/C4.html
IMHO.. The best bet is to plug in a USB drive large enough to save everything on the TC and do a back directly from the airport utility.. disk, archive..
Then wipe the TC using erase.. and do a fresh TM backup on both computers.
Keep the USB drive in a draw for a year and a day.. after that you can assume anything on it is no longer required wipe it and do another backup of the TC.
