Electric chocks when I charge my Ipad2

When I charge my ipad, it feels the power in my hands like tiny little vibrations. After a while, my hands feel numb. There are small electric shocks all the time as soon as I touch my tablet. What is wrong? It is brand new and loaded for the first time. I have tried to change charger and took my to my iphone, same problem. When I remove the power cord, it will disappear.

Hi,
Thank you for your answers!
I took my charger from my iphone and tested to charge my ipad with. Then it was the same problem as with the charger that came with my ipad. So there are no problems with my charger to my iphone or ipad, I don´t have any problem when I charge my iphone.
Something must be wrong with the Ipad.. when I don´t charge the Ipad, I don´t have any problem at all..
/Cia

  • How can I restore the large battery icon that shows that the ipad is charging.  It has disappeared when I charge my ipad2

How can I restore the large battery icon on my ipad2?  It has disappeard and does not appear when I charge my ipad.

It only shows when you turn on your iPad. The moment you slide from left to right it'll disappear.
    Note: Charger must be connected.

I was charging my iPad2 and when reaching 90% it just went black and can't be started again. Anyone that have had this problem and know what to do?

I have had this problem several times. The iPad comes off charging with a black screen and only a hard reset works to get it back.  Then you have to go to settings to be sure nothing changed there.
I have had serveral hard resets and three restore operations and the problem recurs.  I am not sure if it is the iPad2 or an app that is causing the problem.   So far I can live with it as is.

  • Static electric shock when hooked up to TV via VGA

I have a 2007 MacBook Pro and have been hooking it up to a new Samsung HDTV via the display output to VGA, as well as the audio out port. I have been streaming video off of Hulu or Netflix and after about 20 minutes of me sitting on the couch away from the computer and TV, I get up to cue the next TV show or change something with the computer and I get an electric shock when I touch the computer.
Any thoughts on what may be causing this? Its not the biggest deal but I don't look forward to it every time that is for sure.
    Thanks in advance.

So is the solution just to wait till the seasons change?
Not sure if either one of us would call that a solution, but if it is static, the problem should get less and less as winter wanes and humidity rises (depending on what climate you're in, of course). I can't recall seeing any in the recent past, but there used to be products available claiming to lower static in households. I've never looked into them. I do try to be careful and touch something else grounded before touching my MBP as electronics and stray electrical charges are not a particularly good combination.

Yes. Try a different electrical outlet or computer and a different USB cable.

  • Re: iPhone leaks electrical current when plugged into sound systems.

The above problem is one that I just ran into recently. I've plugged my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1.1) into two different sound systems, Samsung and Philips, with two different connecting sound cables, and it always leaks electrical current when I pick it up. I had no issue with the Samsung before. This seems to have gotten worse recently, and the feeling of having current travel through your hand is unpleasant to say the least. Has anyone had the same issue, and knows how to deal with it? I don't think I could send it in, since it's been more than a year since I first purchased it. Help is much appreciated, thanks!

Well, from what I've heard it's not the first time people have encountered this problem, mostly when plugging their phones in to charge. Hmm, those factors don't seem likely given that I was wearing cotton, the surface was painted wood, and my country is fairly humid (Singapore). Someone did suggest that it might be the audio system itself, but I decided to give this a try since this phenomenon has occurred before and it happened no matter what source the iphone was plugged into.

  • Battery charging of ipad2 using USB cable

I am unable to charge my ipad2 when attached via USB to any of my computers.  It states "not charging" on the ipad.  Are there any settings I need to change in order to charge via USB?

    chris5354 wrote:
Ipad 2 will charge with usb cable even it show "not charging" it just take a longer time because regular usb port does not give out 10w, let connected overnight and you'll see its charging...
or you can install a software called ai_chargexxx (i forget the full name) on your PC, just google it
This is not correct.  If the battery icon on your iDevice doesn't show the lightning bolt, it isn't charging no matter how long you leave it on there.  Most accessory USB ports on computers aren't powered and are bus-powered drawing power from the computers USB interface without a seperate power hookup.  That aside, for devices the require more power than this, they will not work with this type of USB, as in the iPad.  Most USB's that have the juice to power anything are typically found on the back of the computer and typically only provide 500mA which again is pretty low.  That would charge it, but you might as well watch corn grow which would be faster.
As for the software you speak of, not heard of it, but willing to check it out.

  • Erratic power behavior when wall charging

Whenever I charge my iPad using the charging block and AC current, I like to turn the power off altogether, rather than just put the iPad into sleep mode.
As soon as I plug it into the wall, the iPad power comes back on. When I go to shut it off again, sometimes it stays off, but sometimes it powers off and then back on after a few seconds.
Is this normal behavior when wall charging?

The ipad cannot charge white it is off. So therefore when you plug it into the wall it turns on to charge and turn it off the ipad knows the power is there but needs to be on to keep it so it turns on..
You are actually damaging your ipad when you turn it off while charging. The reason the second time it stays off a little longer is because the ipad stopped connection until the next wave of electricity flows which is why it turns back on.

When I connect my iPad2 to my tv using the AV adapter I can hear sound for everything else except movies. I can hear tv episodes, music, YouTube videos, etc. anyone have an idea of how to fix this issue? Thank you for your help in advance.

Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).
If you want to copy all the infor from an old iPod touch to the inew iPod see:

If after you charge it for about three hours and it only last about five minutes the battery is probably dead or there could be another hardware problem.  I would go back to the Apple store and ask them specifically how can it be OK if the fully charged battery only lasts five minutes.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If the battery was empty (and it may then take 10 to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

    Hi Bev076,
I would try these ideas first:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that doesn't resolve the situation, I would suggest reporting it:
