Element 9 error "Rolling back the installation of Elements 9" failed.??

I just bought Elements 9 for Windows. And anytime I try to download it, it says "Rolling back the installation of Elements 9" then says "shared technologies failed"?
I have tried multiple things listed on here and nothing helps.
Does anyone know how to fix this??
Thanks~!

Hello,
I noticed that there is a log we can refer to:
C:\Windows\CCM\Microsoft.ConfigurationManager.AssetProvider.InstallLog
Since the client software is not installed successfully, I'm not 100% sure if the folder persists.
In addition please check event log. Pay attention to those logs regarding WMI.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Rolling Back

As a result of a recent problem with Elements Organiser, I had to uninstall all of Elements 10.
When I now try to install it again, it appears to be installing ok (in that it populates the destination folders and places a launch icon on the desk top etc)
However, before it fully finishes the install, the installer window says something along the lines of "Photoshop Elements 10 Rolling Back Installation". This removes the desktop icon and gradually unpopulates the files from the destination folder.
As recommended on the Adobe Help Page, I have switched off my Firewall (AVG Professional), but the problem still occurs.
I have previously had Elements 10 running ok on this machine.
    Any ideas ?
    Regards
    JJ

    Already tried these.
The issue is obviously related to a Failure to Install Shared Technologies.
I've loaded the Adobe Support Installer Analyser, but no joy or no viable solutions.
I can't believe that I have spent money on a product that I cannot use. There appear to be many people on the various forums out there with similar issues.
It should be easy to contact Adobe directly to get clear and unambiguous help on issues such as this.We shouldn't have to rely on well meaning and helpfull forum members for what feels like a breach of consumer rights. If you had a kettle which failed to work correctly after a couple of months, you would want the supplier to resolve the issue, not expect other "kettle users" to suggest a range of alternative solutions !!
Whilst I'm not a PC geek, I'm no slouch either. How on earth would someone with limited PC knowledge cope.
    Somewhat Frustrated !!

I fight with the same error, it is curious that the schema from schemaLocation can not be validated. If i set the schema manually through an attribute it works. What i try to do is overwriting the resolveEntity in the handler to get the schema from another location and validate the xml against the schema specified in the attribute schemaLocation rather than setting it manually :-(

Can anyone help solve this problem

Exactly the same problems as many others with iTunes 10.5 and my Windows 7 32 bit laptop: An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT .type="win32", … HRESULT:0x800736FD. I followed the Apple instructions to completely uninstall earlier iTunes and all Apple applications and then tried to re-install iTunes 10.5. Numerous attempts. Still no success. Constantly goes through the install and then rolls back after failure.
By unzipping using WinRAR and installing each module separately it seems that the module that fails is the AppleApplicationSupport.msi
Finally I uninstalled everything again and reinstalled iTunes 10.4.1. This installed perfectly. So at least I still have iTunes.
I was able to install iTunes 10.5 on myWindows XP SP3 desktop.
I noticed with WinRAR that the AppleApplicationSupport.msi file with 10.5 is a completely different size to that with 10.4.1. This suggests to me a conflict between the latest AppleApplicationSupport.msi and Windows 7.

You should check Windows update for Service Pack update, if there is any.
Otherwise, try to fix and update windows system filesas follows:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
    type in
    sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer if it did actually repair any files.
    Then do the download again.

    hi Katrina!
IF you are running DCOMCNFG to fix something, does that mean you got an error 1607?
here's what i think is going on with this poor chap.
our "publishing product quit"/1607 KB doc got revised on 31 january 2006:
iTunes for Windows installation quits while publishing product information
... and there's now an alternate set of treatment possibilities given in there for XP home users. people are being linked to the DCOM settings tip over at InstallShield:
Configure the DCOM Settings on Your Computer
so i think here that our OP has a "publishing product information" quit version of this problem, and followed up on that link, which is why DCOMCNFG got mentioned.

it says that Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
Okay. We've got a broken Windows Modules Installer on the PC, then.
It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
    Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time?

  • How to "roll back" the model if a database update fails

I'd like to know if there's a way to "roll back" the model (the values in the managed beans) if a service call to a database fails during the Invoke Application phase. My understanding of the JSF lifecycle is that the values in the model are updated before a service call to a database would happen. If the database update operation fails, it seems to me that the data in the model and the database would be inconsistent.
For example, say I have a ridiculously simple application that updates a names database. The fields are id, last name, first name. The application has a simple view that allows the user to update a name in the database. The user updates the last name field for a particular record from "Doe" to "Smith" and clicks "submit". The request goes through the lifecycle, the model values are updated from the web form during the Update Model Values phase, then the call to update the database fails during the Invoke Applications phase (the database connection failed). When the Render Response phase completes, the UI would display an error message where I put <h:messages> but the last name value in the UI would show "Smith" instead of "Doe". Is there something I can do to roll the model value back to "Doe" if the database call fails?
I know that I could redirect to a technical error page, but I'd like to avoid it unless it is the best thing to do.
I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.
    Thanks.

I know that I could redirect to a technical error page, but I'd like to avoid it unless it is the best thing to do.
I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.
    Thanks.

adobe reader issues windows 8 Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}. HRESULT: 0x80070422.
I have tried many things to try to install it and I have been unsucessful. Please help I have windows 8 64bit.

This did not resolve my issue, it actually made things worse. I did what
you had told me to do below, and it did not work. Tried to access the
internet to respond back to you and my computer was not able to reach the
internet. Tried reaching adobe support and not was able to, even tried
calling was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one answered. I was not able
to re install windows. Contacted Asus from another computer and they were
not able to help me reinstall windows They had asked me to ship my computer
back to them, due to them not being able to resolve the issue and help me
reinstall windows. I luckily had a backup on my external hard drive and was
able to reinstall windows 8. Spent over an hour and half trying to fix
that. Here I am still not able to install adobe reader. I was very unhappy
with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
    ·  Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
    for the elevation prompt
    ·  In the command prompt, type the command below:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
    appropriately.
    ·  Restart the system.
    ·  Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

The only microsoft support KB entry that deals with this error only is for Windows 7, so the Fix It tool can't be run:

    Hi All
I have the Same_D_n_Problem.... However, I WAS able to download and install the VC++ 2005 Redist x_64 after removing the one that was there.... Didn't help :(
Tried removing, then installing using a CleanBoot - no luck
REinstalled VC++2005 Redist. No problem but cannot install SQL 2008 R2
Soooo... have traced the SQL Installer log file - and one can get to the entry by searching for 1935 - then looked back for what I think is the begining of the problem - I have marked this with ********************* here is the LogFile excerpt:
