Element 9 stops working
Hi everyone! I just bought a brand new sony vaio computer yesterday. I just installed premier elements 9 and also downloaded the latest version of quicktime.
Everytime I start editing a project I'll make a few edits and then I get a message saying the program has stopped working. This has happened about 20 times. I have cut and pasted the error message below. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks

The drivers on a brand new computer will be months out of date (because manufacturers build their 'master disk' months before launch). Sony also have a reputation for significantly altering standard drivers.
Working through these basics sorts many problems out:
Install all Windows Updates.
Install latest version of Apple QuickTime (v7.6.9 at time of writing). Even if you don't use QuickTime, PRE relies heavily on it.
Install most recent graphics and sound drivers from the manufacturers (usually ATI or Nvidia) web sites (but also look at the Sony support as well).
Install PRE9 v9.0.1 update.
Delete BadDrivers.txt (in Windows 7 this is likely at C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Premiere Elements\9.0\BadDrivers.txt)
Run Disk Cleanup.
Run Defragmenter.
Reboot your PC.
Temporarily disable any anti-virus realtime scanning.

"Adobe elements has stopped working."
I've received the error "Adobe elements has stopped working" and then the program closes. It has happened numerous times and now happens more and more often. Does anyone have any fixes for this?
I've been having the same problem.
Win7 64bit 8GB RAM, 500GB free hard drive space. All Win updates in place on a regular basis (last time was 2 days ago).
I often get the "stopped working" popup message on my desktop right after I close the program (well, yeah, I would hope it would stop working when I close it) and also increasingly get it on the desktop when I open the program (before the PE12 screen opens). This latter popup "stopped working" message will persist until I close the popup window, even though the program is working just fine.
The most occurrences of actual crashes seem to be when doing a lot of titles (new or editing existing), when saving, and when exporting.
For awhile it seemed (very subjectively) that rendering the project before saving or exporting possibly helped reduce the number of occurrences, but just now the "stopped working" message popped up and the program quit while I was rendering (got about 80% through).
This time I checked the "check online for a solution" box, but to no avail--there was a brief period while Windows searched online, and then the program shut down anyway.
I've tried rebooting, making sure other programs were closed, etc. but nothing really seems to have much effect. The same project will save or export just fine on one occasion, then if I so much as change a word in a title it will become unstable. The entire project is 26 minutes long. One video track (2) with titles, one main video track (1), one audio track (mostly empty) of ambient sound with the video, one sound track.
I will try Steve's suggestion of Ctrl-Alt-Shift for awhile on opening. (This helps when PSE tools freeze up.) Thanks for the tip! -
Adobe Premiere Elements 13 stops working trying to add media via videos from camera
When I try to add media selecting videos from camera or flip, Adobe Premiere Elements 13 stops working and closes. What might be the problem?

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running? Have you had the opportunity to update 13 to 13.1 using an opened projects Help Menu/Update?
What are the full properties of your source media and how are you importing them that you are trying to import into the project? A quick way to get that information, if you do not know that information, is for you to post the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded the video.
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Element 13, and are you running the program as Administrator?
Lots of additional questions, but the answers to the above may give us the answer that you need to resolve you issue.

Photoshop Elements 7 stopped working
My Photoshop Elements 7 stopped working. Error message; "A prpoblem caused theis program to stop working correctly. Windows will clsoe the program and notify you if a solution is available. How can I repair?
Start PSE to get to the Welcome screen.
Hold down the Ctrl, Alt, and Shift keys and click Organize. Keep holding down the keys until you see the Catalog window.
Select your catalog and click Repair. Select “repair anyway” even if PSE doesn’t find problems.
Then for good measure, click Optimize.
If repairing resolves your issue then fine else repeat the above steps, but click New to create a new catalog. If you’re able to import photos into the new catalog and the Organizer works fine, then problem can be old catalog.
In that case you can try regenerating the thumbnails. Do Show All, Edit > Select All, and then Edit > Update Thumbnail.
-Check if AutoAnalyzer.exe is running in your task manager. End the task and try.

During app load, Premiere elements 11 stopped working all of a sudden. Why?
Premiere elements 11 stopped working all of a sudden. Says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly" I re-installed it but still the same.
I haven't installed any other apps except adobe reader and there were a few Windows updates but that was it. Some history - I had defraged my hard drive when this started to happen. Wouldn't the re-install have fixed it if the de-frag caused this problem? What is causing elements to stop loading at the splash screen?DFMA

If this is one of those Importer QuickTime type issues, the answers are few if any.
If you have not already tried
Have you attempted to delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary,
the whole 11.0 Folder in which it exists.
then, please try the following...
My expectations for the following are not high, but worth the time -
1 uninstall the usual Control Panel way - you might want to uninstall QuickTime at the same time.
2. free ccleaner run through (regular and registry parts)
CCleaner - Download
3. reinstall QuickTime and then Premiere Elements with anti-virus and firewall(s) disabled.
Others on the list...
1. Create a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and install and run Premiere Elements
from there.
2. Use a new set of installation files either from Adobe if you purchased the program from it as an online
download, or get tryout installation files for 11 into which you can insert your purchased serial number.

Photoshope Elements 11 Stops Working
Photoshop Elements 11 stops working after it opens the organizer. This is after I imported pics / movies from my cell phone which caused it to crash. Any suggestions?
No. The program stops working a few seconds after the Organizer opens up.
The only reason I brought up importing photos is because this problem started after I tried to import photos directly from my cell phone. The first time I tried to import photos from my phone, I connected the phone via USB. Then I used the "Get Photos" feature in Organizer and selected the drive which showed up corresponding to the phone. Unfortunately, I think it downloaded items that were not photos or videos. It crashed during the attempt to import. When the organizer opens up I have a few seconds to see my photos and there are a few that look like bar codes and rainbow colors. I am concerned that the program downloaded files from the phone that are causing the problem.
I searched through my photo folders looking for bad files but could not find any. I uninstalled and reinstalled Elements an the problem persists. -

I had the same problem with Photomerge panorama (PS Elements 9) on my new Windows 8.1 HP laptop.
I found a post over on a thread about CS5 talking about dual video graphics drivers. My laptop has both Intel and Nvidia chips and drivers, and after I disabled the Nvidia driver in Windows Device Manager, so that I use only the native Intel graphics, Photomerge Panorama comes up fine. My external big monitor looks crisper with the Nvidia graphics enabled, but I can re-enable that easily after I am done with Photomerge. -

You have to tell PSE to explicitly write the tags back into the industry-standard metadata fields, using the File > Write Keyword Tags command. Beware that it is buggy -- if you find your tags not getting written correctly, you can use the utility psedbtool:

Photoshop elements 11 suddendly stopped working. I have worked with the program the last couples of years and never had a issue until now.
I have not change any settings in my computer. Windows 7 (64).
I have read in other forums, it may be caused by a windows update or antivirus. What do I need to do to have my software work again? I would really appreciate if you can help me resolving this issue.I have exactly the same problem. After useing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 for more than a year, I get the same error message after I chose the edit option. I have not used the program in a few weeks, so I cannot guess what other program was updated that might have affected the performace of Photoshop. But, Photoshop does work in Safe Mode. So, there is something that suddendly is in conflict. Unfortunately for me, the first things I tried were to remove and reinstall Photoshop a few times. Now my restore system option of Win7 is not available for a date far enough in history to get Photoshop to work again. I have removed all software that used to open at Startup. I have tried to open Photoshop as an administrator and also with various compatibility settings to now avail. I have checked the installation logs and there are no errors.
Seeing that the prevous forum post is from February 2014, I am assuming that no one viewing this forum is going to help me with this problem either, but I can try to remain optimistic. I'm out of other options for getting help. I'm not excited by the idea of reinstalling all my software again and the hours of my time that will take, especially when I don't even know that this will help. -
My Photoshop elements 11 stopped working app store purchase
I purchased photoshop 11 from the app store and it has stopped working. It crashes during load. (See the code below). I have tried uninstalling and reinstaling. And it did not fix the issue. I found a few others having the same problem with app store purchase but never see a resolution. I downloaded the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 trial from the Adobe website and it works without an issue. Can anyone help me with this?

Photoshop Elements 8 stopped working, won't run even after reinstall
I'm using Vista. I installed a couple weeks ago and it's been working fine until today. On startup I keep getting the message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I worked my way through most of the troubleshooting guide and when I couldn't find the preferences file to rename I figured it might be "lost" and I should just uninstall and reinstall, but that didn't fix it, it still won't start. I really need this program and it was a lot of money (for me). Getting frustrated! Anyone?
I am having the same problem and tried calling tech support was on hold for an hour and a half its
driving me crazy trying to figure it out. Did an online chat which was no help what so ever.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Stops Working?
I recently activated Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 from my brand new tablet bundle. The first few times it would work and I had fun fiddling around with a new editting program. Now though, every time I attempt to open the editting program it loads up then immediately says it has stopped working, and all I can do is close it. I am running a Windows 7 64 bit HP Pavillion g series laptop. Any help on this issue? I would like to start using my new toy.
Quit the editor, then restart it while holding down ctrl+alt+shift. Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

PRE 7 Error: Adobe Premiere Elements.exe stopped working
Today I started getting Adobe Premiere Elements.exe has stopped working and than the program closes. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I un-installed and re-installed it and still get the same thing.
Just as a possible additional clue. I have been editing a video of 1:40 hours length for the past 5 hours. PRE7 behaved well. Then, after saving my project, I tried to apply some colour filters (Auto Levels and Colour Balance HLS). PRE7 then crashed and is now unable to open the same project (which is 1.84 mb in size WITHOUT the filters saved in it) but can open an autosave version of 1.5mb in size. As that is 1.5 hours older, it is of little help to me, though.
(Note: this after I gave up and redid this video, after PRE8 totally crashed and PRE7 couldn't reopen this project file either.)
So there seems to be an error regarding the project file size and some weird "setting" that prevents PRE7 from opening that project.
(Note 2: I have now wasted so much time with this, that it is getting beyond just annoying. Adobe should fix this ASAP or provide all users a free copy of Premiere CS4 - if that is any better, that is. As no other video editor can import PREL files, one basically starts from scratch, which is even more annoying.
Note 2b: I have gone through all the suggestions made, am not running an Nvidia graphics card and am now at a loss as to what to do to successfully reopen this project file.)
