Element attributes linked to context elements

Is there a way to find out what interface element attributes are linked to specific context elements (without searching the entire layout)?

Hi Bob,
There is no direct way to identify the field associated to a UI element. SAP has porvided some protected methods to get this details for internal purpouse but not for external use.
the only way is to drill down through the context path of the root container.

There are some attributes in the node context(ee_node) that contained the attribute named "ANSSA" in the view(test_view) in the WDA for abap. In the method modifyview of the view(there is a transfered parameter that represent the name of "ANSSA")
I want to create a dynamic element(inputfield) in the test_view. The element need bind the context attribute (ANSSA).Through the transfered parameter(para), I only know the name of the attribute binded.
How can I bind the attribute of the context in the following code?
METHOD modifyview .
*importing para type string.
*importing m_view type ref to if_wd_view.
data wd_inputfield type ref to cl_wd_input_field.
create one element automatically in the view.

Here's what you have to do.
You set up your column link like this:
Link text: whatever you like
Link attributes: onclick="return false;" class="open_modal"
Target: Page in this application
Page: number of the page you want to open in your modal window
You set up your dynamic action like this:
Event: Click
Selection type: jQuery selector
jQuery selector: .open_modal
(notice the dot at the beginning!)
Action: SkillBuilders Modal Page (2.0.0) [Plug-in]
Event Scope: Dynamic
And finally, in your True Action (SkillBuilders Modal Page (2.0.0)), URL Location should be set as Attribute of Triggering Element.
And that's pretty much all it takes.

How to read the attribute in another context node from setter method

i need to read the STRUCT.E_MAIL ( attribute ) present in INDEPENDANTEMAIL context node from the SET_S_SRUCT method of the context node HEADER.
I tried th following but it didnt work out....
Get the Custom Controller Path

Get the Entity

I have added a new field as part of an enhancement for Trade Promotions. This field is a checkbox and part of the context node TRADE in the view TPMOE/HeaderEOF. This field will be checked or unchecked using a logic in the background.
The logic will be based on an attribute (Fund Plan ID) which is part of another context node FUNDPLAN in the same view.
How can I read the attribute of FUNDPLAN context node in TRADE context node?
A sample code will be quite helpful as I am new to CRM 2007.

Hi Abhishek,
If I understand your question correctly, you would like to access the Fund plan ID (in a different context node) in the getter setter methods of the check box attribute which you have added.
The code snippet mentioend by sudeep works perfectly fine when you are making any checks in the view implementation class. But since you are in the getter setter methods of the context class, this doesnot work as "me" always refers to the class instance in which you are present.
Now in this case what you need to do is :
1) create an attribute <view_controller> in your context class. Here the context is TRADE. The type of this attribute wud be same as the view controller class CL_TPMOE_HEADEREOF0_IMPL
2) Go to the view controller class and redefine the method
DO_VIEW_INIT_ON_ACTIVATION. This method is called only once when the view is loaded for the first time.
3) In this method, put the following code
me->typed_context->(Trade)->[view_controller] = me.
by the above code, you are setting the newly created attribute to the view controller instance.
4) The next step would be, go back to your getter setter methods or what ever it may be, try referring to the Fund plan ID by the code snippet mentioned below
data: lr_entity type ref to cl_crm_bol_entity.
lr_entity ?= me->[view_controller]->typed_context->[the context node in which the fund plan id is present]->get_current().
lv_field_value = lr_entity->get_property_as_String( **pass the field name here ).
This should definitely resolve the problem.

Remove "Personalize Link" from context menu of iViews.

HI,
We have to disable / hide the "Personalize Link" from context menu of all iViews in the portal.
we do not want to go to Properties of individual iViews and change that.
Is their any global setting for that?

Hi Vishal,
Are you talking about the Pesonalization option in iView tray or Webdynpro Personalization.
You don't need to open each iview to change a common property. You can use Multiple Property replacment to achieve this.

Removing the dynamic attributes from view context

I have added an attribute dynamically using the following line of code in wdDoModifyView():
wdThis.wdGetContext().getContext().getRootNodeInfo ().addAttribute(<attributename>, <datatype>);
Now I want to remove the dynamically created attribute from the context.
Pls suggest me in this regard.

Taxonomy Attribute Link

Hi people!
I'm having a big problem with taxonomy attribute link, I will give you an example what is happening:
I have a taxonomy field in my Materials Main Table called PDM, the problem is when I update the field PDM changing the actual category to another, when I have attributes filled with values and i change to a new category, the attributes that have value filled is replicated/linked to the new category I chose.
For example my record was set to a Shirt category, that have the following attributes:
- Color
- Shirt Type
- Size
In this scenario just the attribute Shirt Type is filled with some value, the others is blank
When i change the category for example from Shirt to Pants that have the following attributes:
- Color
- Pants Type
- Size
When I change the category of this record to Pants MDM show me the following message:
"The following attributes SHIRT TYPE will be linked to the new value you are assigning to 'PDM' because they are linked to the old value od 'PDM' and contain data values"
MDM only allow me to save if i clink in OK if i don't click it doesnt save the record. If i click in OK button it save the record but it link the attribute to the new category a chose.
Someone knows how to change this?
If i change the category it just change to the new one without carry the attributes?

I noticed that the attributes wich are copied is just the attributes with there is some value selected. The solution when change the category is to clean the attributes values first, save the record and then change the category!

Hiding "Descriptive Attributes" link on item page in PLM

We have a requirement where we need to hide the "Descriptive Attribute" link on the item page (Self Service). Please note that this link is coming on the Sub-Tabs (side navigation on the left side of the page). Clicking on this results in a page where DFF is show. We need to hide this link so that it is no more available to the user. Please suggest is someone have achieved this functionality before.

I have check the same thouroughly, but the link (which appears to be coming up from menu) in the side navigation bar is not coming up in the about this page. Also this is not coming as a part of the JDR_UTILS command. I believe it is the menu which is getting rendered on the page. I am able to locate the menu and function inside it. I also tried using Menu Exclusion functionality but thats also not causing any help (link is still visible). Please note that i got both the APACHE and OAF core services to clear the cache (This is R12 instance).
Please suggest.

How can I bind a dynamic attribute of a context node to ALV?

I'm trying to show data with Webdynpor ALV, but i met a question which blocked me. The situation is that there is a static context node and it's mapped to WD ALV, while programming I create a dynamic attribute to the context node. The dynamic column can be shown on the UI, but there is no any data in it. How can i deal with it?

Problem in accessing attribute of a context node

Hi All,
I have a context node called REFE and an attribute named REF to the node REFE. I am trying to get access to the attribute REF, so that i can dynamically set properties. But i am getting NULL Object error. I am successfully getting access to node REFE.
Here is the code.
lo_nd_refe = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_refe ).
lo_el_refe = lo_nd_refe->get_element( ).
lo_el_refe->set_attribute(
      EXPORTING
        name = `REF`

Hi,
What is the cardinality of the node.
If it is 1:1 then you can get teh reference of the context element directly.
If it 0:N or 1:N then you need to pass the index of the context element you are trying to get.
Use the method get_element of the context node and pass the index value.
Always check the element is initial or not before you process further for better coding.

How to use attributes from different context nodes in one view?

I am VERY new to the concept of CRM and currently working on creating an alternate version of the BP_HEAD_SEARCH. With help from SAPPRESSs book 'SAP CRM Web Client' i was ble to create my own simple Z-component.
However after going back and forth the book and the forum (including this [article|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/Howtoaddanexistingfieldtoasearchpageofadifferent+component]) i was not able to find a solution to my problem. My current search uses BuilHeaderAdvancedSearch as context node for searching. But the search should also be able to use attributes from BuilActivity, which is directly related to BuilHeader. I can't seem to find a way to get attributes from BuilActivity into the search window of my component without having to change SAP-Standard.
Is this really the only way? Please advise on possible code and insertion point.

Any suggestions?

I have defined a context node LINES with several attributes. This is done staticly during developmenttime.
During run-time node LINES is extended with several attributes dynamicly. See below:

I have an internal table that matches de new context. This <fs_tb_tree_new> I want to bind like:

In <fs_tb_tree_new> the dynamicly added attrbutes contains values e.g. (the static attributes also have values via <fs_tb_tree_new>):

5 Africa 0002 Reporting Entity 0.000
6 Russia, CIS 0003 Identify 0.000
An ALV presents the values of the attribute. But.... only the values of the static part are presented, not the dynamic attributes added during runtime.
Please advise what I forget or do wrong .

If you use a combination of static attributes added with dynanic attributes (during runtime) for dynamic ALV, I advise to create a new node and bind the values to this new created node:
