Element Panel Drag and drop

I can't seem to be able to drag and drop in the elements panel
I have to draw a box in something in order to drag something into it

So you can reorder but you cannot drop a child into a non-parent?
This is in fact a bug, I'll get it filed for you and worked on.

Corey

• Drag and Drop Functionality in ADF

Hi, i have a cuestion,
I need to develop an application, but i have to determine if it is possible.
I explain..
I have to make an applicacion with elements with drag and drop functionality, i mean.. 3 to n containers on the page, a toolbar, with the possible elements to drag and drop on the containers,
later on i have to join that elements with lines, and to save the view, so, when the users open their workspace, they can see their last view saved state.
In a few words, that's my issue.
I ve been search about it, and i found something about drop target option about panel box componnents, but nothing about drawing lines and saved view states.
Do you know about some examples, o an example application, any help resource will be wellcome
Thanks in Advance!!!!
AB

There isn't a "painting" function built-in.
You can do drag and drop in ADF Faces between components though.
If you want to show relationship between components with lines - you might want to look into the Hierarchy Viewer.

on NetWeaver 7.0 Enhancement Package 1. On this release we have a DragSourceInfo UI element:

• Drag and drop picture frames in Photoshop Elements 11 from one file to another?

Hello,
I am a digital scrapbooker.
I recently started using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. I previously had been using Elements 7. I make extensive use of Picture Frames i.e "Basic Black 10px", and in Elements 7, it was very easy to drag and drop a picture frame from one file to another. (I use a separate file for each scrapbook page, and I often move pictures between pages as I scrap them)
In Photoshop Elementa 11, I can drag and drop a picture frame from one file to another, but ONLY if there is no picture in it. If there is a picture, I cannot drag and drop - the circle-slash icon appears showing that it won't land. I was able to do this in Photoshop Elements 7, whether or not there was a picture in the frame.
Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong, or did Photoshop Elements change this functionality?
Thank you!

I think this might be a bug in pse 11, at least on the windows version.
You might try right clicking on the frame layer in the layers panel, choose Duplicate Frame Layer and pick your other document as the destination.

• Drag and drop photo in elements 12

Trying to drag an edited picture from photobin in Elements 12 onto a blank documents. Elements is resizing my photo to fit the blank document. I don't want it to resize. I want to drag and drop multiple photos onto a new blank doument as I have in other versions.

I suspect you are doing this in the Photo Bin. Do it from the Layers panel (drag the layers you want from each photo to the blank document) and they won't resize (see note). If you only want a single layer to represent each image either temporarily flatten the image, or use select all and edit> copy merged followed by a paste into the blank document.
Note: You need to ensure that your image resolutions are consistent across the images, otherwise they will appear as different sizes in the blank document.

Neale

• Listening to Drag and Drop event from the extension panel

How is it possible to detect a drop event from a Layer to a text field in a panel developer using the SDK?
Drag and drop operation between panel elements are not the issues, but drag and drop from Photoshop and the panel might be an issue.
Is it possible to implement them?
If yes, could I be redirected to the documentation topic or can someone post some code snippet ?
Thanks

What model of camcorder is your video from and what resolution is it?
What operating system are you using? Have you ensured that you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements?
Do not convert your video. The program will best with video directly from a camcorder, and converting it may will turn it into a format that it may be LESS likely to work well with.

• Problem with Drag and drop in panel dashboard

Hi
I am having problem with drag and drop in panel dashboard.
I will explain what i am doing.
I am using Oracle three column template in First region i am having a table that showing all customer.
I drag one record from my table and drop it on customer info (CIF) page on second region it is working fine.
my CIF page has a dashboard with 6 panel box. i am showing 6 different jsff in 6 panel box.
I put drop target in each jsff
<af:dropTarget dropListener="#{backingBeanScope.backing_customerinformation.handleItemDrop}"
actions="COPY">
<af:dataFlavor flavorClass="org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.model.RowKeySet"
discriminant="CustomerSearchDnD"/>
</af:dropTarget>
when i put drop target my panel boxes moves only when i drag it to another panel box header not entire part of panel box.
if i remove the drop target then panel box move normally as the example given on: [http://adfui.us.oracle.com:7778/faces-trunk/faces/visualDesigns/dashboard.jspx?_afrLoop=2021391022520156&_afrWindowMode=0&_afrWindowId=null] but in taht case i am not able to drag and drop my data

You must be an Oracle employee as you're referring to a component in the upcoming JDeveloper version which has yet been released to the general public. Oracle employee's are, I believe, directed to post on internal Oracle forums.

• Is there a way to disable drag-and-drop on the pages panel?

Hi, I'm using Indesign CS3 on Windows XP. My computer is a laptop and the problem I'm having is that when I have the pages panel open, I have sometimes drag-and-dropped pages of a document into a new order without meaning to (the laptop touch pad seems made for these butterfingers-type moves). The documents that I'm laying out are several hundred pages long, so sometimes I don't notice that I've screwed a few pages up until much later. If there is any way to just turn this feature off, that would be great. Due to the arrangement in which I usually work best (on a sofa), I would prefer not to have to attach an actual mouse to the laptop. Thank you for any help.

Not that I know of.

• I can no longer drag and drop things in Photoshop Elements 12. I can move things with my keyboard, but not my mouse. WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

When I got Elements 12 (May 2014), I was able to drag and drop things such as cut/pasted items, watermarks, etc. As of 2 weeks ago, I can no longer use my mouse to drag and drop. If I try, it just snaps back wherever it was before I tried to drag it. With that said, the item will move if I use my keyboard. It takes an eternity. WHAT IS GOING ON?! I just really want to use my mouse again...

Install the 10.10.1 update. That should do it.

• Drag and Drop in CSS Styles Panel

So, I am going through Dreamweaver CS5 Classroom in a Book. In lesson 6, pages 106 through109, it tells you to drag and drop rules in the CSS Styles Panel into a certain order. I can't seem to get it to work for me. Am I missing something?

What do u mean by saying this?? Drag & Drop is possible for
components example Jtree , jtable .These are placed on containers like JApplet, Applet or frame .
So the answer is yes !
there is a seprate package devoted to Drag & Drop.

• Dragging (and dropping) components in a panel

I want to learn how to move a component or image around in a panel and drop it. To also drop other images and then connect the images with a connecting line. I don't really need to go into the Drag and Drop API because I'm just staying in my GUI. Can someone direct me to a resource that might help me?
Gracias,

• Drag and drop Picasa Album Into Premiere Elements 10

I tried to drag and drop videos from an album I made in Picasa into Premiere Elements. No dice. I tried to drag and drop files from windows explorer into Elements. No dice. I have 200 files from various folders all over my machine, assembled in a Picasa album, and I have no way of importing those files into Elements from what I can see. Anyone know how I can do this?
I even tried to be clever, grabbing the Picasa XML file that contains the full paths of each file and then creating a space delimited list (with Quotes around each path) and pasting it into the OPEN FILE dialog. But there seems to be a maximum string length. No dice.
Your help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Keith

Yes, the PREL (Project) file is XML, however it is structured for PrE to be able to read (and write) it. If PrE can read the Picasa XML (the structure makes sense to the program), then it just might work.
Unfortunately, I have never used Picasa, so have no idea of its Album files structures. I also cannot recall anyone mentioning working with it, and PrE, but maybe missed that/those thread(s).
Other than the general observation, offered above, I have no useful knowledge on what might, or might not work. However, as you experiment, please update this thread, as it might prove very helpful to others - and I get to learn something!!!!
Good luck,
Hunt

You might check out the Drag and Drop tutorial, especially the section Data Transfer with a Custom Component.
Here's another approach using an overlayed non–opaque JPanel as a transfer device. The image label is transfered to the (fake) glass pane and dragged. On mouse release it is added to the JPanel below. Although I didn't build in any boundry–checking it would be a useful thing. Mostly to ensure a suitable drop target and component location in it.

• Drag and Drop onto a Panel

Does anybody know how to enable drag and drop onto a panel? I
need my users to be able to choose an image from a grid and place
it where ever they want on a panel or something. How can I do this
in flex? I know how to do drag and drop from grid to grids or
select boxes. I just can't get to place it on a panel.
Thanks for any insight

Thanks a million. This definitely helps out a lot. Do you
know of a way where you could put all of them on the panel and
control their layout? Basically, I need the user to be able to pick
as few or as many of the flags they want and place them on the
panel to make a collage. So the end user can drag the items around
and put them in the panel however they see fit.
Once again, thanks.

• Drag and Drop from Files panel

I am having trouble dragging JPG files from the Files panel
to insert in my pages. I have a number of pages created from the
same template and the ability to drag and drop an image from the
Files panel doesn't work for all pages.
Some pages let me drag the file across, other times I have to
use the Insert command and browse to select the file. Is there an
option that I've somehow turned off for these pages?
Thanks.

> Is there an option that I've somehow turned off for
these pages?
I don't think so. What happens on those pages that fail? Do
you get an
error? Do you just get nothing? Do you get the circle/slash
cursor? Are
you dropping onto non-editable turf?
Personally, I have never found the INSERT menu option to be
too much
trouble....
