  • How do I send link using Thunderbird- always defaults to outlook express

Both my wife and I use this PC my email is via Thunderbird, she uses outlook express. When I try to forward a link in firefox, it always opens outlook express- I want it to come from my account at thunderbird. how do I fix this?

Try making sure that Thunderbird is set as the program to handle email. You can do that in the [[Options window - Applications panel]]. You might also check this Thunderbird documentation - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/make-thunderbird-default-mail-client

  • ITunes 7.4.1.2 doesn't recognize Outlook2002; defaults to Outlook Express

I upgraded to the new iTunes 7.4.1.2. Before, my iPhone had no trouble syncing with my Outlook2002 for contacts, e-mail or calendar.
Now with the new iTunes, Outlook2002 is not recognized and is only recognizing Outlook Express which have not used in a long time.
How do I get my iTunes / iPhone to sync back to Outlook2002?

I used 2002 outlook and my IPHONE would not sync my contacts or calendar even from the start, so I moved my contacts to outlook express. It synce fine with express. I also upgraded to the lastest itunes before I sync'd my phone. Ive read that the sync program and iphone are only compatiable with outlook 2003, 2007 and yahoo.
If you can get 2002 to work let me know because express has no calender and I really need that, I may have to buy 2007 soon, just for the calender

  • HELP! - Big Photoshop, Outlook Express, "My Pictures" Problem

Can anyone see what's gone wrong here and how I can solve the problem please? I use XP. I've imported photographs from My Pictures into Photoshop Elements 6, edited them and then saved them back in My Pictures as PSD files. Wanting to email them, I've used the "Email your pictures" option on the My Pictures menu which defaults to Outlook Express that I don't use any more for sending emails. I've selected the "make my pictures smaller" option then, rather than sending from Outlook Express I've selected "save attachments" and saved them back in My Pictures. Using this method opf reducing their size, I've then attached them to my Googlemail emails. I've done this successfully in the past but last time I attempted it I got an error message saying Windows Explorer has hit a problem and needs to close. Now, every time I go to My Pictures I get the same message straight away. Any ideas about why it happened and how I can do anything about it?
In the past, I've tried using Photoshop to reduce the size of files but it asks for the required size and I'm not sure how to answer. If it just said how many kb do you want it would be easy. All comments gratefully received.

    Hi,
This seems more of a Internet Explorer problem. You can try uploading the psd using any other browser.
Check that the size of the image is not too large. Gmail does not support files more than 25MB size.
Hope this solves your problem. Try this and inform what happened?

  • Outlook Express and Netscape/Default e-mail account

I have recently replaced my Internet Explorer with Netscape 7.02. When I send an e-mail from a website on Netscape, it prompts me to set up a new account to send the e-mail. IE always launched Outlook Express when I sent an e-mail from a website. Outlook Express is designated as my default e-mail account in Control Panels. Netscape support has been of no help. Can I get Netscape to go to my Outlook Express to send e-mails from websites or must I use the e-mail application that comes with the Netscape?

    Greg,
Trouble is that having changed mine to OE a longtime ago I'm not sure that what I see is what you see.
Having gone to about:config do you see network.protocol-handler.external.mailto if you scroll down? I do, but that may be because I have changed already.
If you do see it control-click on it and a drop down menu will come up in which you choose New > Boolean. Having chosen that enter network.protocol-handler.external.mailto when prompted then follow the instructions in the link I gave.
If you don't see it (and it sounds as though you don't) just control-click anywhere on the page and do the same.
Sorry I can't be more precise, it's ages since I did mine.

  • When I open an email with images, Outlook Express keeps defaulting to Internet Explorer rather than FireFox to get the image, since I have IE disabled this means that I see no image. I have FF set as my default browser. Please can you help?

I first noticed the problem 3 months ago when a virus set a proxy on Internet Explorer. Removal of the proxy brought the image back, but this showed that Outlook Express uses IE to get images even when FF is set as default browser

I might be able to experiment with this a little.
Are you running a recent version of Outlook Web App (i.e., Exchange 2010)?
When you save files using IE, what format are they in (e.g., EML, RTF, HTML)?

  • How I launch mailto using outlook express, my default mail program.

I have downloaded firefox browser for Win XP. I have a default mail program on my computer. I have checked and firefox recognizes it as default. How can I access it from the browser and can I set a bookmark? for quick access. Thanks

#Right click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and go to Properties.<br><br>
#Click the Programs tab and make sure it says "Outlook Express" in the Email menu.<br><br>
#Close that and then in Firefox, press the ALT key to toggle the text menu links on (and off).<br><br>
#Click File and then "Send Link".
It should open OE with the link to whatever page you're on.

  • Until I installed version 3.6.6 on my XP system I would bring up Outlook Express to send a link by mail. Now, selecting "send link" brings up MS Outlook Office which is not my e-mail default.

Prior to installing 3.6.6 on my MS XP system, when I click on FILE & SEND LINK, instead of getting my mail system OUTLOOK EXPRESS, I get OFFICE OUTLOOK which is on my computer but I have never used it for this. I cannot locate a setting to change this so far. Thank you. C.F. Boykin-

    Every time Firefox opened

  • Error 4359 launching outlook express.

    Mac os 9.2.2
I was running illustrator 10 when I tried to open Outlook express.
Then I got an error message that said there was an error while opening the
    program error number (4359)
I tried taking all extra fonts out of the system fonts folder and trashed the preference folder, and rebooted with extensions off. Then ran techtools on it.
Still get the same error message.
    What else can i try?
    G4 400   Mac OS 9.2.x   21 GB HD

    Becky, welcome to Apple Discussions.
This text is from the link I provided above.
4359 = "Unexpected end of file" / "Memory is full" / "An unknown error 4359 occurred"
Description: These errors can occur if there is damage to an element of the identity that is used to start Outlook Express.
Solution: The most common cause of the error messages is a damaged preferences file for the currently selected identity. This preferences file stores the settings for the accounts and other settings for the identity. The default location for identities is: Drive: Documents: Microsoft User Data: Identities. NOTE: Your installation may be in a different path than the default path.
To rebuild the identity preferences file:
    1. Quit Outlook Express if Outlook Express is currently running. Locate the preferences file in the currently active identity.
    2. Place the preferences file in the Trash.
    3. Start Outlook Express again. The Setup Assistant rebuilds the account for this identity.
FYI - The OE preference file , named Preferences file, to Trash is located in each of your OE/Identies folders
If Trashing the above preference files does not fix your problem, there is another OE preference file, named Outlook Express Prefs, located in the System/Preferences folder. Trash this one also.
    Cheers, Tom

  • Sending Photos in Windows Mail instead of Outlook Express?

I'm still using Photoshop Elements 5.0 but upgraded to Vista operating system and reinstalled PE 5.0. Now I have the default Windows Mail program instead of Outlook Express and I can't send photos in an email - I had no problems before.
I can select the photos to send, and can even select the contact I want to send to, but then I can't get the program to go to the next screens - it just sits there.  Can anyone help?

Please try following things which might help to resolve  your issue -
    1) Try running the application as Administrator.
    2) Right click the application exe and selectd properties. In the compatibility tab, select compatible with XP option.
Officially, Adobe does not support 5.0 on Vista. You would need to upgrade to 5.0.2 to run your application on Vista.
Please see if your problem is resolved.
    Thanks,
    Sourabh

  • I need to use Outlook Express to apply for jobs and I either don't have it but when I try to send an e-mail on Outlook Express, it won't go through and gives me an error report.....I really need to be able to use Outlook Express to apply for jobs. Help!

When I try to apply for job and when I try to e-mail my resume' and Outlook Express comes up to reply to on, I put in my information, etc but when I hit send, it doesn't go through and says? POP and then error report and doesn't go through.

I can't provide a solution with or without the error message, but without an error message, you are making everyone guess at what you see. I have no idea what you see, and I think someone who might be able to help you solve your problem would need to know what that message says. Is "Outlook Express" (Windows Live Mail) your default email processor, if not what is?

  • Clicking on an email address on a webpage, opens outlook express, but does not create a new mail, which it used to. annoying as it then means cutting & pasting the details

As I said above, clicking on an email address on a webpage, opens outlook express which is my default email client. In the past it used to also open a new mail, ready for me to type the message but now it does not. It works if I load internet explorer as the browser but does not in firefox. I prefer firefox, so can someone help me resolve this. Its so annoying to have to open a new mail then cut & paste the email details.

I posted this reply elsewhere in the support forum but I'll copy it here for you, as follows....
I had the same problem. Initially thought I needed a string (code) to run the "Create new e-mail" command for Outlook but I didn't. I did a few things that eventually made it work, but I don't know for certain which one it was so here goes.
1.) Go to Control Panel and click on Internet Properties. Go to the Programs tab and double-check that Outlook Express is your default e-mail client. (This is probably for IE).
    2. Close Outlook Express. Select the RUN command from the Start Menu and type the following: <msimn /reg>. Only type the info between the brackets. Click the OK button and wait about 5 seconds. Nothing will happen on screen but the information is being silently written to the registry.
    3. Open Outlook Express and go to the Tools Menu. Select Options. On the General tab, look down to the Default Messaging Programs. More than likely, the top option will say that "This application is NOT the default Mail handler" Click the button next to it that says "Make Default". This should trigger an available option in Firefox, below, if it was not already available.
    4. In Firefox, go to the Tools menu. Select Options. Click on Applications. Under the column, "Content Type" look for the mailto function. In the column Action, select "Use Outlook Express (default)" if it is not already selected. "(default)" must be part of the phrase. Somehow there is code behind this option that will bring up a new e-mail in Outlook that otherwise does not work if Outlook is selected manually. (To choose Outlook manually, you will indeed have to find the string code somewhere.)
