Elements 10 demo. undocking pictures???

When picture(s) is opened, it is in full window.The picture doesn't separate from the dock. Usually just dragging the tab downwards undocks the picture into
a floating window. It makes it unable to view 2 pictures side by side, or drag image elements from one image to the other. Is there a problem with the program, or is it due to being a demo. (All demos have always been full function)

Change your settings
Click Edit à Preferences à General
Then check “Allow Floating Documents in Full Edit Mode”

The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
Calibrate the monitor

I just rencently got Photoshop Elements 5.0 and I have Windows XP service pack 2 and I read the help and did some things. I need to make some pictures smaller or bigger so the people I want in my banner look aroung the same size. When I try to resize the image it resiazes everything or I use the square tool and try to resize it my self but the pictures becomes out of shape. Also if I dont need all of my canvas that I created when I try to crop it t makes the pictures cut off. IS there a way to just get rid of the bottom od the canvas that I didn't do anything with? Here is a banner I made using photoshop and see the girls head is bigger cause I don't know how to resize it. http://i12.tinypic.com/2mcy245.jpg... I went to paint to cut off the extra canvas that was in the picture. I had used The Gimp before I used photoshop and with Gimp I knew how to resize pictures to place on another picture.

the crt + t makes my picture look bad. I guess I have to reseize myt pictures in gimp to make anything then.

while in the Transform tool, tick ON the "Constrain Proportions" tickbox at the top. then when you move a handle, the image will resize poprtionaltely instead of distorting.

Premiere Elements 13 (demo) freezes every 5 minutes...

I'm currently looking for a new photo editor, so I'm trying the elements 13 demo and so far I start to like the program (except why is there no option to fill your texts with gradients? what's so damn hard about that?) But this program freezes every freaking time within 5 minutes.
I'm using the Elements 13 editor in expert mode, the program creates ~50% CPU load and that's it, I can't do anything...
system:
windows 7 x64
core2duo e8400
4 GB RAM
AMD HD 7850

The recommended forum post didn't work out. What appears to have worked, at least to this point, is the following:
Boot into OS X Recovery (restart your Mac and hold down the Command and R keys at startup).
Open Disk Utility and select your primary volume.
Click Verify Disk and if prompted, click Repair Disk.
Click Verify Disk Permissions and if prompted, click Repair Disk Permissions.
Exit and restart.
Premiere Elements 13 should function normally.
In my case I ran both Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions. It's been about 3-4 days after applying this and PE 13 no longer randomly crashes.

Not unless you want to. Each version is a separate standalone version and you can keep both if you like.

Premiere Elements 10 timeline playback pictures keep freezing

Hi, I'm using Premiere Elements 10 and when I playback my timeline, most of the time at least part of the video pictures freeze or judder whilst the sound stays continuous. This is obviously a total nightmare in terms of trying to edit! I am new to Elements (am used to editing on Avid and FCP) - am not very impressed so far!
I have established that it is not a problem with my laptop. Also - when I start up Elements it gives me a link to this page http://www.adobe.com/special/premiereel/downloads/ saying I need to update BUT all those updates seems to be for "themed content" - so I am assuming that a) I don't need them and b) that they are unrelated to the freezing issue - Is that right?

Thank you for the screen grab. You're right. The MOV video from the DSLR does seem to be matched to the project settings. (I assume you've got the latest version of Quicktime installed.) So it could be that your system is just lugging.
Your hardware is good for basic video editing -- but you're editing 1920x1080 24p. With version 10, that can be a bit demanding for a dual core running at 1.8 ghz. Particularly on a laptop, which tends to have a slower throughput.
You still haven't said what operating system you're using or how much RAM you have. But if you're running Windows 7 or 8 at 64-bit and you have at least 4 gigs of RAM, you may want to download the demo of Premiere Elements 11. It's got a much more efficient HD engine that runs at 64-bit on those OSes.
One of my computers is a dual-core Intel running at 2.6ghz, and the difference in the way it handles AVCHD video in Premiere Elements 10 and the way it handles it in Premiere Elements 11 is like day and night.
It's possible Bill or Neale or John or ATR or another of the regulars on this forum have additional thoughts. But, based on the questions you did answer, that's about all I can offer. Sorry.

Slideshow in Elements 9: Shows some pictures as "broken"

When I run a slideshow from Elements 9, the "View/Edit/Organisein Full screen" option, quite a few of the pictures appear "broken" and a "broken" type icon appears. It seems to get worse after that. I'm showing an album of 90 pictures, mixture of JPEG, PSD, RAW files. At first I though the app only supported JPEG but when I stop at the broken file, locate it, and start the slideshow from there, it dissplays fine.
Is this a known bug or limitation? Any fix or workaround?
I have PSE9 and 9.0.3.0 patch installed. Running on a i7 Dell PC with 4GB RAM (so in theory plenty horsepower)
Any advice appreciated

Please ensure that Thumnails are properly gereated for all the files in your catalog. This happens usually when bigger size thumbnail is not readily available to show.

Elements 10, after restoring pictures demand reconnecting!

Elements 10, after restoring all the files are on the computer, but catalog doesn't show any of the pictures, says they all need to be reconnected!? A huge job for 47 000 pictures... Did it for the second time now, re-installed the program in between. What now?!

Yep, you got it.
Had to re-install the whole machine in trying to get Organizer 12 working, installing flash memory of tera and everything. (Didn't help.)
Before that process took backup with Organizer 10, in July 2014.
Backup still available, run it back on the computer yesterday with same results as today after re-installing the Elements 10. (Got so fed up with Adobe that it took a while to get back on the saddle.)
Yesterday used original location, today didn't prompt to create same folder structure but otherwise same location.
ALL files are missing. Yes. Immediately after backup.
Been trying to reconnect, but the pictures don't get any less (47 225 to reconnect all the time) and all the time I get the message that they already exists in the catalog.
Pictures and videos take about 198 Gb.
I have 5 external hard drives, mostly I use the ones with tera space. Pictures seem to all be correctly and fully restored, folder structure is correct and the ones that I have opened seem to work. Even if they would not be, I still have the pics in some other place as originals.
Most of all I would like to save the hard work I've done tagging and evaluating all the pictures.
And I hope to God I soon get to make another backup knowing that everything is allright.
As I told you, this is the second time of restoring with the same result. Not doing it the third time with knowing that something is fundamentally different.

H.264 codec not working with Pre Elements 8 demo

I downloaded premiere elements 8 and even installed the upgrade (30 day demo) and I can't open video files taken with my canon 7d camera. I have found a conversion tool to change my mov to avi but thats extra time that I dont want to spend.
From what I've read Elements 8 should be able to use the canon files but mine cant. Any suggestions?

I want to thank you and Bill Hunt for your prompt replies. However I don’t think they are on point. My problem is not with a single photograph but entire project consisting of many photographs, transitions, music, etc. I actually imported two such projects into my video project in Premier Elements. One cam in perfectly. The other however, was bollixed up. It played fine in Elements, but when I reviewed it in Premier, the music shifted two frames forward, and one picture came in sideways. There may be more, but these problems alone frustrated me from checking further. The companion project imported without a hitch and plays as designed. All photos from both projects were taken on the same trip with the same two cameras.
Again, thanks for your time. If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate ;your input.

Elements 13 crash on picture import

I very recently purchased Photoshop Elements 13 and I am trying to create a desktop for my two monitors as I have done numerous times on previous versions of Photoshop Elements.
I am able to have the blank canvas and the two pictures in photoshop just fine. When I go to add the pictures to the blank canvas, if I am lucky, I can get one of the pictures on to the canvas but if not or on the second picture, photoshop immediately crashes.
I am on using Windows 8.1 on my PC.
I have tried to reinstall several times, have reactivated the DirectPlay legacy windows component and disabled 'Analyze Photos for People Automatically', among many other various small attempts.
Any help?

Here are my computer specs as I have seen others do.
OS: Windows 8.1
RAM: 16GB
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.00 GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 x 2
I do not use an external harddrive.
I use MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Premium
Windows Defender is active
Both the images and photoshop are on my C: drive
Let me know if any further info is needed, I don't want to have to return my purchase if I can't avoid it

PSE_6 Rotate pic in elements and my (doc,) pictures at same time

Is it possible when rotating pictures from the Photoshop organiser or when importing new pics with the photo downloader to have them rotated in windows my pictures(documents)at the same time?

I believe you need to have PSE6 installed for Lightroom to allow you to do the conversion. So, if you haven't installed PSE6 on your 64 bit OS, then you need to install it. (I have no idea why Adobe programmed it this way, it doesn't make sense to me). Of course, in order for this to work, you will need to have your photos in the exact same folders on the 64 bit machine as they were in on the 32 bit machine.
It should work fine if you to install Lightroom on the 32 bit machine, convert the catalog, then transfer everything.
As a word of advice ... a better strategy in the future is to do one conversion at a time (PSE to Lightroom), make sure that has worked properly; and then the other conversion (32 bit to 64 bit). Or vice versa. Don't try doing them both simultaneously.

What computer operating system and what video card/graphics card does that computer use?
There is a known problem with Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA Ge Force which is resolved by rolling back the driver
version to May 2013. Let us determine first if that applies to your situation.

Photoshop Elements 2: Top Of Picture Disappears Under Shortcuts Menu Bar.

I know it's not an eMac problem but I thought this would be the best place to ask!
At one time whenever I opened a photo in PSE2 the top edge of the photo's window was neatly aligned with the bottom of the Shortcuts Menu Bar.
Now whenever I open a picture the top of the picture's window disappears under the menu. If it doesn't disappear the moment it is opened, it does if I try to enlarge it.
This means I cannot move the picture around the monitor or close the picture with the red button at the top.
The only cure I have found is to remove the Shortcuts Menu bar, which is rather inconvenient!
I have fiddled around with the preferences and also turned the "Resize Windows To Fit" setting on and off to no avail.
This never used to happen - so has anyone got a solution?

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!!!!
After a day of intermittent head-banging I have solved it.
The Shortcuts Bar should always be ABOVE the Options Bar.
Although I have used Photoshop a lot, I can go for weeks without looking at it.
Somehow the positions of the Shortcut and Options bars had been switched and I hadn't noticed.
I don't know how because I didn't even realise they could be moved and nobody else uses my computer!
Anyway, now the Shortcuts Bar is on top everything is back to normal.
Hope this is of some help should it happen to anyone else.
