Elements 10 - disks 2 & 3

I sucessfully installed Elements 10 from disk 1.  Disks 2 & 3 in the package were called for, are they needed and if yes what are they for?

Ah, I think I finally figured it out.  Elements 10 installed succesfully from disk 1.  Since my current Premiere 7 meets my needs I elected not to install the trial version of Premiere 10 on disk 2 which has the 64 bit option.  So with all that said I do not have a problem as disk 2 has no additional data required to Elements.  I should have gone to the website instructions first. Thank you for your help.

  • System doesn't recognize the software programs on the Photoshop elements disk?

How do I get my Windows XP system to recognize the software programs on the Photoshop Elements disk? This is not a download from the web.  I've got the minimum requirements. Turned off all security systems. Created a separate account for Photoshop. And tried other disks to make sure the drive is working. After hours of troubleshooting I'm ready to return the software.

If the drive is correctly installed on to the sled, and the mounting screws are snug, not tight, and the sled is inserted properly so that all the roof-tangs catch as the sled is inserted, failure to show up in Disk Utility means the drive is not useable.

  • Premiere Elements Disk Menus does not show in replay using Mac Pro OS X 10.9.3

I recently installed Premier Elements 12 on my Mac Pro OS X 10.9.3 (Maverick).
Naturally I want to get the highest possible quality to show off on the TV using a standard DVD player.
Outputting to DVD not using AVCHD retains the menu but not on AVCHD, what am I doing wrong?
The Output Quality using just DVD and not AVCHD is lousy, what have I missed?

    Thanks for the reply.
    Objective Miscellaneous
Let us start with your objectives. If you are restricted to a DVD disc, then your export choices from Premiere Elements will be
    DVD-VIDEO widescreen on DVD disc (720 x 480 stretched to 856 x 480 for display after encoding)
    or
    AVCHD format on DVD disc (1920 x 1080 16:9)
Disc menus are possible as described for main menu page, scene menu page, main menu markers and scene markers. The players will recognize the stop markers placed in a Premiere Elements burn to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, but will not recognize the stop markers in a Premiere Elements burn to AVCHD on DVD disc. There should not be problem with main menu markers or scene markers in either choice.
Also, AVCHD on DVD is not playable in the standard DVD player. You need a Blu-ray player that supports AVCHD on DVD disc. Many do, but some may not. The specifications of the player is your guideline.
For AVCHD on DVD disc, you do not need a Blu-ray DVD burner to burn to AVCHD on DVD disc. That can be done with a DVD burner.
And, under all conditions, a stop marker should never be placed at the end of the last item on the Timeline.
    Specific Replies
What disk menu?  I am talking about “disk menus” as per page 243 of Premiere Elements Manual.
It was my impression that you said that "Disc Menus Do Not Show...", so I was asking which specific disc menu theme are you using? And, is this "do not show" applicable to all the disc menu themes that you have tried to work with?
I am using a Panasonic Blu-Ray player on the TV.
Are the disc menus of your Premiere Elements DVD-VIDEO or AVCHD on DVD not displaying solely with this Panasonic player? Or, is the same observed with computer playback of the DVD product? If the missing menus in the end product issue that brought you here involves solely the Panasonic player, then I would ask if you have checked the player for any option that would control the display of menus in the playback?
Not sure if I am using “interlaced video” but you would know from my input sources mentioned above.
You wrote "My source media is output from iPhoto and Fotomagico slide shows whose output is MP4 MOV or M4V and if played back in Quicktime are of very acceptable quality (H.264 1920X1080)". That does not tell me if 1080p or 1080i, but I suspect that it is 1080p. The MediaInfo properties readout will give a definite answer.
    http://download.cnet.com/MediaInfo/3000-2169_4-10413046.html
Just be careful for unwanted carry alongs with the MediaInfo free program. But iPhoto and Fotomagico should be telling you before export whether you are exporting 1080i or 1080p. My main focus on the Premiere Elements 1080p DSLR aspects related to slideshow is the fact that that Premiere Elements DSLR project presets seem to give consistently a sharper photo image in the end product. So when applicable (photo and video wise) it is the preferred route for me and others.
“Quality area” and space requirements are not of concerns at this stage since present show length is not even 30 minutes – or should I be concerned for some other reason but space?
As routine, the Quality area Space Required and Bitrate should be known, even for your 30 minute Timeline content duration. You should be working with a check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space" and watching the Bitrate in that area. Anything lower than the maximum 8.00 Mbps indicates that the program is making a fit by lowering the Bitrate. The extent that it does not impacts the quality of the end product. Also, of note, the that Bitrate is a variable one in the end product.
This may or may not affect what you are doing now, but it is important information to include in the discussion "just in case".
Also, related trivia...DVD disc marked 4.7 GB/120 minutes is in reality 4.38 GB; DVD disc marked 8.5 GB/240 minutes is in reality 7.95 GB.
Are we any closer to getting at why your disc menus are disappearing after end product creation in Premiere Elements and at playback with your Panasonic player?
    Please review and consider.
    Thank you.

Have you followed our advice and created a new folder whenever you create a new project? If so, all of these files will be saved in that folder and removing them, once you're finished with your project is as simple as deleting the folder.
Otherwise, you'll need to manually delete these files. They're locating the following folders, in the same directory where you saved your project file:
    Adobe Premiere Elements Auto-Save
    Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files
    Encoded Files
    Stop Motion Capture

  • Photoshop Elements 11 boxed software installed once in Dec. 2012 won't install on new computer. Disk can't be read (tested on 3 different computers). How is that even possible of a meticulously clean, well-protected disk?

    Dear Adobe,
    I need your help!
On December 12th, 2012 I ordered (purchased) by mail an official copy of the boxed Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 software from B&H Photo (New York, NY). I installed it successfully without any problem on my then computer. I have enjoyed using the program since then, it’s great. This past week, however, that same computer died and I was force to buy a new computer (Windows 8.1).
To my big surprise, the Elements disk wouldn’t load off my DVD drive. The drive just kept “clicking” for 20 minutes.  After trying several times from reboot, for an hour and a half, I then tried installing it on my laptop, just to see if my drive was faulty. No, it wasn’t. It too immediately went into an endless “clicking” routine trying to read the disk. And for one last try, I put it in my sister’s laptop and she got the very same result - endless “clicking”, no install. No computer could read the disk!!!
How is this even possible from a commercially made disk I used only once in 2012! The disk is meticulously clean, unscratched, unscuffed, put away in its original box and stored on my shelf in a cool place away from the sun!
Serial Number of faulty disk:  1057-4186-6029-0039-1511-3940
Is there anything you can do about this as I see no reason why I should be forced to spend over a $130 (in Canada) to replace a disk that worked only once!
    Regards, Andre

  • Premiere Elements 9 disk has no .exe file?

My Premiere Elements disk has no .exe file.  I know this because I had it installed on my old PC thanks to the help I received from Adobe.  I now need it on my new PC, some help would be appreciated please?

I do not fully understand the situation you are in with the disc that you presently have....
    a. why you cannot use AutoPlay to install from the disc
    b. if you do not want to do "a", why you cannot copy the installation disc to the computer and then use the Setup.exe file.
Lots of questions to get your installation disc usable, but....
To cut to a quick solution to your problem, provided you have a purchased serial number for Premiere Elements 9....
Go to the following web site and download and install the Premiere Elements 9 tryout. During installation of this tryout, insert
your purchased serial number to make it your working copy. The key to success in this particular route is to read and carry out
carefully the web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" and its click "here" so that you do not run into Access Denied.

  • Can I install photoshop elements 10 without disk using serial numbers?

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a Macbook Air, which doesn't have a disk drive. I have a photoshop elements disk with serial numbers, but obviously without anywhere to put the disk I can't install it with that. I'm wondering if there's a way to download photoshop elements with just the serial numbers. I looked everywhere for a solution and nothing has come up so far.

You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Trying to install Adobe Photoshop elements 8 on MAC 10.6.8

Trying to install Adobe Photoshop elements 8 (that I bought a while ago and never installed) on my MacBook Pro, Intel Core 2 Duo, OS 10.6.8.
When I insert the PS Elements Disk, a PSE page came up with Read me etc which I read.  I clicked on the blue PSE folder and a window with Bootstrapper.dmg came up. I clicked on that and a window opened asking me to type in my administrator passsword to allow Setp to make changes, which I did, twice... and then nothing happened...
Is there something else I am suppose to do? OH, another mounted drive appeared in Finder with a long name... "EFBB...........". When I opened it, it had an assets folder  and two .js files (whatever they are)...
What more do I have to do?

I think I figued it out... But why installations instructions didn't come up when I inserted the disk was very annoying. And because they didn't, Adobe should post th installations instructions somewhere on their support site. Not here now, which is also annoying.

  • Windows 7 dependent on external disk

I bought a 60GB OWC SSD and put it in my MacBook Pro (used the data doubler kit to replace the DVD drive) Installed Windows 7 on the ssd without using the bootcamp setup wizard. (i'm such a rebel) It installed beautifully and Win7 is really really fast! The screen is gorgeous! But beauty comes at a price right?
Here's the weird thing, I couldn't install Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 or get Win7's SP1 to install. I tried loading from the DVD, re-downloading installers, and running installs from my known good flashdrives. None of it was working. The installs would inexplicably hang, I thought it was from the 8GB of ram in the system. But that wasn't it... By chance/accident, I left my WD elements usb hdd plugged in when I attempted to install office 2010, i noticed the disk light was flashing occasionally during the install, odd I said. But 2010 installed in about 1.5 minutes. I then said, lets try 2007. It also installed in about 2 minutes... brilliant! (the elements disk had activity during the 2007 installation) And lastly, SP1 installed without issue, yay! With each installation, the elements disk would flash and indicate usage by the installer (according to perfmon)
Before my accidental discovery, it was taking well over 2 hours to make any progress and the disk write speed for the installer was 2.4kbps (peak) Even windows update was wonky... it would take forever to check for updates and even then it wouldn't be accurate...
I checked the pagefile, it's on the C: drive and win7  says that the elements drive is not needed for ReadyBoost.
So, with that in mind, is there a driver or destination configuration to let windows use the SSD for storing critical temporary installation files?
What has me curious as to why Win7 is dependent on a usb external disk to do any sort of Microsoft software/update installation. Any reasons why?
    Specs-
2011 Macbook Pro 2.2ghz Intel i7 (quad core)
    8GB of DDR3 RAM
    128GB Apple SSD
    60GB OWC SSD

Usually applications' installers give you a default installation location and prompt if that's where you want to install it. You can change that to a different location, such as an external drive. This will likely slow down the game a bit if it has to load data from an external drive instead of the SSD.
You need to decide whether it's better to install everything on the SSD, thus, requiring a larger allocation of space for the Windows partition.

  • Cant install Elements - or full version of photoshop

I have Photoshop elements installed on an old PC. However most of the time I'm abroad and only have access to a laptop. Recently I took some photo's that I wanted to fix up with photoshop elements. I didn't have the disc on me so I downloaded the trial version to my laptop and used it for 30 days. After the trial period ended I went to look for my elements disk but all I found was the licence codes.
Then I remembered I had a backup of my whole PC on an external hard disk. I plugged the hard disk into the laptop and ran the elements exe. All I got was an error - "Failed to initialize Vbox (0010-0069-0090)."
I decided that perhaps it was time I tried the full photoshop product anyway so I downloaded a trial version. When I try to install it, it unpacks 100% but then nothing else happens.
I want to get the original elements program to work - or else I want to be sure that the full version of photoshop will work on this laptop before I buy it.
The laptop itself is a decent bit of hardware - HP Compaq nc6400, 2GB Ram, Intel Centrino Duo with Windows XP Pro.

If you would try to restore installed files from backup, it might not work and probability of not working is very-2 high.
So first thing you need to check the entry in Control Panel>Add Remove Programs....
If PSE is there, uninstall it and then install from the trial version you have downloaded.

  • Elements 13 disc problem installation

Hi, I have trialled free Elements 13 (which is still valid for 2-3 weeks) and decided to buy the disc version. It does not install or give out any message at all regards the problem. The disc is heard  revolving inside. Contacted Store where I bought computer who went over many tasks which all veered to no probs with comp. He suggested since I have trial version at moment just add the serial sequence of my bought disc and all should be well in registering He also thought new disc could be faulty  which I find hard to believe. So do I return disc or is there a solution please?

Thank you for quick response, I am on Windows8.1 and use Google Chrome ,followed your lead to optical disk .No Change.  Because of Elements disk not being recognised at all by computer and testing out other dvd's and cd's all to be working, I now have to believe the disc is at fault. I tried it out on neighbours comp and is the same- dead . No messages just the same sound of it revolving in drawer. Shows up as totally empty in devices and drives. Phoned again to where I bought computer and they came to same conclusion again after proving all ok with comp.. I now am going to send it back get refund and download online. You say it should be straight forward to enter my serial number but unless I am on wrong page it goes towards me having to purchase again which is not on. I will wait for your guidance on this matter before returning disc.
Thanks again for your help Jeff, its the first time I,ve had to use forums.

  • Elements will not 'save' using an iMac

I have used Adobe Prem Elements for some years on a PC....No prob..love it...generally ran smoothly, but recently purchased an iMac- 0S (Mountain Lion)and loaded Mac Elements disks...
Ok probs there but sorted...Getting over probs importing clips from Panasonic FZ200 (AVCHD..and now have elements running smoothly
BUT WHEN I SAVE THE PROJECT...THEN REMOVE THE MEMORY STICK, THE FOOTAGE DOES NOT SAVE.

    Alan Arnold,
I am strictly an Elements Windows used so if I am overlooking something please let me know since you have used Windows and Mac and I have only used Windows.
Please confirm what you are saying when you wrote:
BUT WHEN I SAVE THE PROJECT...THEN REMOVE THE MEMORY STICK, THE FOOTAGE DOES NOT SAVE.
Premiere Elements (any version, any platform) has only thumbnails (copies) of the files that are saved to the hard drive location and those copies depend on the linkage from the particular project assets to that hard drive save location.
When say the footage does not save, do you mean:
    a. you open and close your project into which you have imported your media and when you reopen the project you get all missing media (Media Offline) representations
    or
    b. the Mac is not copying the memory stick files to its hard drive for saving?
It sounds to me like you have not saved the memory stick files to the Mac hard drive and that Premiere Elements is recognizing the save location as that memory stick. So, makes that memory stick ("save" location for the files that Premiere Elements recognizes) then the problem.
But I was reluctant to cite the above since you have said that you have Premiere Elements before. However, let us clear up this point so that we do not take anything for granted.
Bottom line: when you are importing your media into the project, how are you doing that and from where?
And, probably should have been first question, "What version of Premiere Elements are you using on the Mac?"
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot download photoshop elements 6.0! Is it me?

I am trying to download Photoshop Elements 6.0 to a macbook pro. I purchased it fine. It downloads after about 40 minutes but does not launch. I double click on the setup folder and it goes through the motions but then i get errors saying elements did not work (sorry I don't have the exact text). This has now happened FOUR times. I am so frustrated as I have things I wanted to do tonight.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Sas

Barbara, the plot thickens.  When I went to "setup" folder on Elements disk, it stopped midway with a "boot" error which I forgot to write down.
We had downloaded the trial version so I went to install from it.  It went into the installation but started with "repairing shared compenents" which took a long time.  It finally changed to "repairing Photoshop Elements" and again worked a long time but finally finished and said that the installation was successful.
When we tried to launch Elements, it refused (bounced once and stopped).
I went to the disk utility on the hard drive and did a "repair permissions".  It found many on the "system" and repaired them successfully.  I did a verify of the hard disk and it was reported as okay.
I then tried to launch elements and this time it bounced several times and then stopped, refusing to launch.
We were able to launch "Bridge" but when we selected an image and went to File/Open/with Photoshop Elements 6, it refused to launch.
One possible pertinent fact might be that when we did the setup on this new iMac, we transferred files from the old Power PC G4 via an Ethernet connection.  We had previously trashed the old Elements application in order to clear enough hard disk space on the G4 to do an archive and install of OS 10.4.1.,  The G4 had frozen and wasn't able to let us boot it up.
I am thinking that I should have done an "uninstall" before trying to install it in order to get rid of any left over files from the transfer.
Is this possibly my problem?  If so, how do I get to an uninstall on the Elements application disk.  Perhaps I should do that and try to install it all over.
    Thanks for your input.

  • Just purchased CS4 but disk will not load at all, cannot install

I have been looking around on the forums for a day or so but have not seen anyone else that has this problem. I insert the CS4 disk into my DVD rom and it is not doing anything at all. It wil not load, if I go to My Computer and click DVD rom it causes my comp to freeze.
Notmally I would assume this is a problem with my disk drive but when I put any other disk in there it works fine. Now experimenting I tried placing my frien'd photoshop elements disk in and it does the exact same thing.
I have tried all the other tricks like turning off the firewall, virus software, removed Adobe reader and Flash. But nothing has changed. What else should I try?

The first thing to do is to check if the Photoshop disk is in fact ok or not.  Are you able to read the Photoshop disk on another computer?
If the disk is ok, there is something specific to your drive/system which is causing the problem.
You can find loads of discussions about DVD drives freezing the system in various forums.  Some general troubleshooting steps: http://www.brighthub.com/computing/windows-platform/articles/53821.aspx
