Elements 10 doesn't recognise the raw files but does the JPEG.

I have just bought a new camera a canon 5dmk111 and have been shooting in Raw+Jpeg. When I try and transfer them onto my PC in Elements 10 it only recognises the JPEG's and not the RAW. I have previously been using a canon 400D and not had this problem.

You should be able to update pse 10 to camera raw 6.7 by going to Help>Updates from within the pse 10 editor.
Then pse 10 should open your EOS 5D Mark III camera raw files.

  • Extract assets doesn't extract the 0.5x or 0.25x files but does the 2x and 3x, why?

    Dear Photoshop Community,
I'm trying to extract assets but this doesn't extract the 0.5x or 0.25x files but does the 2x and 3x, why?
I get the original file, and 2 folders, one named scaled-at-200 and one named scaled-at-300.
I am using Photoshop CC 2014 on windows 7 and i don't get any other extracted assets.
However using Photoshop CC 2014 on my windows 8.1 machine i get all the assets and two additional folders scaled-at-50 and scaled-at-25.
Why is this? Is there a fix for this issue?
    Thanks,
    Craig Williams.

    Hi Ganesh,
    Thank you for your reply.
However I don't think the problem I got is related to the boldFont object. I actually want all the column hearders to be bold so I did the following codings and it works:
    Font headerFont = table.getTableHeader().getFont();
    Font boldFont = new Font(headerFont.getFontName(), Font.BOLD, headerFont.getSize());
    table.getTableHeader().setFont(boldHeaderFont);
It is actually working - it changes all the headers (except for the column0 which has its own hearderRenderer) to be bold. So I think the object boldFont itself is ok.
My problem is that when I set the boldFont to the myHeaderRenderer for colomn 0, I just can't that that column header to be bold. I guess the problem is related to the header renderer.

  • I have Photoshop CS2 vsn 9.0 with the Camera Raw 3.7 update and the Digital Negative Converter.  I cannot open any RAW files. Does the fact that I've opened them in Lightroom 5.0 before make a difference?

When I try to open the RAW file (CR2) from the Photoshop application or from the Bridge (even while holding down the shift key) I get a message saying it's not the right kind of file. When I try to convert using the converter, it won't recognize the files.

Which operating system are you using?
Which camera are the camera raw files from?
Did you convert the files to dng using lightroom or the standalone dng converter?
If using the standalone dng converter, which version?
In the dng converter did you try setting the Compatibility for Camera Raw 2.4 and later
    (Preferences>Compatibility)
You should also be able to send the files from lightroom to cs2 without converting to dng, either by using Photo>Edit In>Photoshop or setting cs2 as an external editor in the lightroom preferences

  • CS4, we have downloaded the raw file ,but it still wont show

My wife is trying to install camera raw in her photoshop cs4 , we have downloaded the raw file and installed it on the computer, but it wont open them up in cs4 ..why..has anyone any idea where we are going wrong...

    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
D7100 requires ACR 7.4 so that is not possible with Photoshop CS4.
Once again I recommend looking into the free DNG Converter.

  • When will finder show a thumbnail or preview of the raw file images from the Canon 5d mark iii?

I am wondering if anyone has an update on when finder will show a thumbnail for the raw files from the Canon 5d mark III? I've done all the updates possible and nothing has changed, I can't do a quick preview either, it just shows the extension image, not the actual image taken. (The symbol for crw).

I had the same problem for a Canon EOS-1D X and finally got around it by viewing the images in Adobe Bridge. Worked beautifully!

  • I have Lightroom 4 and CS6 Beta and neither recognizes the raw files coming from the 5D Mark III

Now what do I do? Do I uninstall both and reinstall? What a pain since I have all these presets and actions! How come the raw files are not recognized?

Thank you! Glad to know the problem is not on my end!
In the meantime if you just can't wait to edit your 5D Mk III files (I know I couldn't ) you can get the DNG converter version 6.7RC and convert the .cr2 files to .dng where LR and PS can work with them.

  • Elements 7 wont recognise my raw files from EOS 500D. Can anyone help me as I am new to photoshop?

I have recently installed Photoshop elements 7 and everythng seems to work fine as far as I can tell, however, when i down upload my photos from a card reader or camera, it only imports jpegs etc, and tells me it doesnt recognise my raws. Is this a common problem? What can I do
    Thanks
    Dan

What you need to do is update your camera raw files on PE7. You need the camera raw 4.5 update. The instructions are on the download page.

  • Lightroom 5 is auto-developing our canon 7d raw files but not the canon 5d mark 3 files upon import.

Lightroom 5 is auto-developing raw files upon import on the canon 7d but not on the canon 5d mark3. I would prefer to do individual file developing in the develop module.

Go into preferences, select the Presets tab. Hit "Reset all Default Develop Settings". You probably by accident set a default Develop for the 7D. Also check that you don't have a preset selected in the import dialog.

  • Does anyone know when Apple will begin to support Nikon's flagship NEFs files, the RAW files generated by the D4s and the D810?

At the time of writing, Aperture, Finder and Preview all report the NEFs files from the D4s and the D810 as unreadable.  I've got to use Adobe's PhotoShop, Lightroom or Camera Raw to do post-production.  I can't even see thumbnails in Finder.  Has anyone heard of Apple addressing this, and a timeframe?  Will the new replacement program for Aperture be able to work with them?

What's even crazier, is when you go to this page: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#aperture the 5.06 one is missing, the 5.07 one downloads a file with 507 in the title, but when try to install it, it says that answer one is already installed.

  • Preview does not support the raw file format of the nikon d300s

preview does not support the files and snow leopard does not provide icon previews either.
is there any date when there will be support for these type of files?
any suggestions on how to open the NEF files with preview in the meantime there is an update?
    regards

any suggestions on how to open the NEF files with preview in the meantime there is an update?
Not with Preview, but Nikon Transfer v1.0.1.3005 is so far happy with 10.6.1 and you may see if there is any advantage there. Take the card out of the 300s and use a reader if you have to.
It usually takes from 3 to 6 months before Apple releases a new/specific Nikon RAW related update, so you are at the beginning of that cycle it would appear...all you can do is wait, sorry.

  • Edge animate animation does not start the first time I load the page. But does the second time.

    Hi all,
I am having trouble with an edge animation on a web page. It doesn't load the first time the page is loaded, but loads fine the second time or any time after that. To test I am clearing my cache, then reloading the page. It seams to work in IE the first time but not Firefox or chrome.
I have a temporary copy of the page here ... http://emiwip.com/monique-mathieu/landing-page-wip.html
Can anyone tell me what is going on?
    Thanks.
    Dan

I found the answer here ... Publishing no longer works in latest Edge
It appears that you need to load the latest jQuery in the head of the pag. That fixes it.

  • Elements 10 will not read RAW files from my new Lumix G5

All my RAW files taken with Lumix G1 are fine but the RAW files from my new camera (Lumix G5) won't open. What should I do?
Looking at help in E10, it says ACR is version 6.7.0.339
    Elements 10 is version 10.0 (20110831.m.17215)
    Any ideas?

You need at least ACR 7.2 for those raw files, and ACR 7 is not compatible with PSE 10. So you have three choices:
    1. Upgrade to PSE 11 (not the mac app store version, which is stuck at 7.1). If you are considering this, I would wait a month or so, since Adobe historically releases a new version every Sept/Oct.
    2. Use the panasonic software (silky pics?) to convert the raw files and send the resulting images to PSE for further processing.
    3. Download the free adobe DNG converter, which can create DNG files that are compatible with your version of ACR.

  • Aperture 3: Deleting raw files and making the jpeg my new master-

Aperture 3 has made some great strides in making the following possible ( I posted this originally in 2007):
What I'd like to do is shoot everything in raw + jpg, and then keep the raw files only for the important shots.
I really like having the option of raw processing, but the storage demands are very heavy. If I could just make a selection of photos in a roll, and have a command to delete any unneeded raw files from the selected photos, while keeping the original jpgs as master, that would be great.
Also, it would be great to be able to manipulate a raw file, and then when I'm satisfied with the image, to render a high-quality jpg from that raw file & make the jpg the new master, and then delete the raw file to free up disk space.
Basically, I want the raw file safety net for everyday images, without gobbling up gigabytes of disk space <<<<<
With Aperture 3, I can finally change the master to the jpg file, which solves part of the problem. But I still want to be able to manipulate my raw file, and render a new high-quality jpg master.
Why don't Aperture / Lightroom do this? To me at least, it seems an obvious feature.

I had a chance to talk to product managers from both Apple & Adobe about this at PhotoPlus Expo in NYC a couple years back. Both seemed receptive, but here we are - years later - no progress.
I think part of the problem is that there's a purist mentality about RAW files. One should always shoot them - and then keep them forever- after all- they're your negatives!
But what about event photography? Or weddings, as you pointed out? It makes no sense to burden your workflow & backup system with 4GB of RAW files of people grinning into the camera. Once the adjustments have been made, the RAW files are just a ball & chain on your data management. And let's not forget, once you really know what you're doing, your jpegs should be good most of the time anyway.
I want RAW files as a safety net for errors in exposure and white balance. Once I know I have good photos, I don't need the safety net anymore- at least not at the price of all that hard disk space and transfer time for online backup. Of course, for my fine art stuff and important documentary work, I'll always keep the RAWs permanently. But not for routine parties/events.
You put your finger on the problem with re-importing jpegs as a solution. You lose your metadata- rankings/album memberships, etc. This is no solution!
What I want is simple, and it would be immediately useful to countless photographers:
    1) Let me batch-delete RAW files when the jpegs are ok.
    2) Let me do adjustments on my RAW file, render out a high-quality jpeg, and make the jpeg my new master.
Whoever does this first - Aperture or Lightroom - that's the product I'll use.
