Elements 10 installed, then installation rolled back.  Why?

Elements 10 installed, then rolled back.  Why?

It could be due to Adobe Bridge running already.  I would recommend reviewing Install rollback | Photoshop Elements | Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/install-rollback-photoshop-elements-windows.h tml.  Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions regarding the steps listed.

  • Apple Mobile Device Service installation rolls back

    Hey there,
I've been having problems installing iTunes 9 or even 8 on my computer. While running the iTunes setup, part of the installation rolls back and when I launch iTunes after that, I get the message saying that
"This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again."
However, the installation doesn't work no matter how many times i reinstall it. I've fully uninstalled everything related to apple and used the microsoft's utility to check if they were properly uninstalled before reinstalling itunes, but I still got the same message.
I found out that Apple Mobile Device Service was not installed and that was the problem. When i extracted AppleMobileDeviceService.msi from the iTunes installer and ran it, it rolled back too. So I used the /l*v command to create an installation log and this is the error.

Can anyone help me please? Any help will be appreciated =P
    Cheers

I have recently been fighting my system to get itunes to recognise my iphone and i ran into a similar problem.
I couldnt uninstall the old version of apple mobile device support, and installing the new itunes over the top did not seem to help either.
But i found a work around.
Try opening the itunes.exe install package with winrar. (www.winrar.com, its a free program) and then extracting only the applemobiledevicesupport.exe file.
Reboot your system, run that file and then reboot again.
    It should work.
If it doesnt, then good luck to you :P

  • HT1926 itunes installation rolls back in windows 7

I had iTunes on my PC and I was using it until it failed to read my iphone, so I tried to reinstall it.  The installation of itunes 10.6 for 64 bit starts, but rolls back and aborts after the step labeled "copying files".  This happens again and again.

    Hi,
Try to install acrobat pro using this command : msiexec /i acropro.msi IGNOREAAM=1 /qb
on the location where the MSI file is located.
ex. if the installer is in acrobat folder on C drive then you need to direct the command on the command prompt window to c:\acrobat
    Hope this helps!

  • ITunes 10.5.1 won't install. Keeps "rolling back" when nearly complete...

I've emptied the temp folder, deleted the old version of iTunes, downloaded the installer to install from my desktop. It goes all the way through the installation process, then at the last minute "rolls back" and gives me an error message saying to try it again. I've tried several times. What's blocking the installation? Thanks for your suggestions.

    unplug phone from computer.
    Update computer ( apple menu)
    DO NOT UPDATE ITUNES
After each update go back to apple menu and check for updates.
Only when you have completely updated computer ( only itunes comes up for updating) do you update itunes.
    Follow all instructions.
    Then restart computer.
    Plug in phone.
Message appears... do you want to update..... follow instructions.
It actually took me the better part of sunday afternoon, but worth it.

  • Zen Xtra won't connect for Firmware Install. WMP Rolled back to v

My Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra would not load firmware from it's hard dri've. It only entered into a cycle of displaying the 'Creative' then 'EAX' screens. I Downloaded the latest version of firmware 'ZenXtraP4SAudible_PCFW_LB_2_0_03' and installed it following the instructions on the Creative website.
The install started initially but then failed because either the software installing the firmware, or the zen xtra, locked up. I left it for nearly an hour and had no choice but to cancel and try again.
Since this time I have been unable to load any version of firmware to the zen xtra. The installer says that the zen is not connected even though it is. When I do connect it, the 'autoplay' dialog appear asking me what to do. So, the computer recognises the device as 'NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra' but the firmware installer will not recognise it at all.
I have carried out a 'Reload OS' in preparation for new firmware. I have also carried out a 'Format All' and 'Clean Up' from the Recovery Menu that the zen xtra is now stuck in. All appears to be fine with the Zen's hard dri've as, on completion of the format, the hard dri'ves shows 'Freespace 3833.7MB'.
I have looked on this discussion forum and FAQ and this appears to be a common problem but have found no solutions. I have tried uninstalling Windows Mediaplayer and rolled back to v0 and reinstalling drivers and MediaSource software but problem persists. Please help.

    OK. Sorted it! Try this!
    http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9829
Turns out you have to uninstall Windows Media Player Runtime v as well as WMP itself.
Also, if you have the problem with reduced HDD space because of installing PlayForSure firmware, you could install a bigger hard dri've. They are the generic 2.5 inch hard dri'ves fitted in Laptop Computers! My 40Gb Zex Xtra now has the 80Gb HDD I removed from my VAIO! And it was easier to do on the Zen than it was on the VAIO!

  • PSE 8 installation rolls back

    Hi,
I downloaded, unzipped, and can only install 99% before the installation status bar reads 'rolling back' and actually reverses the installation process. Can someone please help me or guide me through the installation process. All troubleshooting documents don't mention this issue and I can't find an explanation for this.
Thank you in advance for your time and understanding and apologize if I cause frustration. I have been know to be confused a lot...
I previously Catherine24 and am now Catherine 2224.

    Hi,
I finally was able to install it. I had to go under the exe file properties, and under compatibility tab, click run as adminstrator. I had done this only while right clicking and thought that would register it. Nope, I had to do the above and do the actual apply. I also put it in my C drive, dissable virus software, and bingo. This information was given to me by adobe tech support who guided me through the steps. Yeah! Very happy.
Thank you to all in advance who would have replied to help.

  • TVSU Installation Rolls Back

    Hi,
I have an R60 that was recently restored from the maintenance partition on my HDD.  I use WinXP and am current with SP3.  Machine Type 9456-66U.  I have installed Productivity Center ver. 3.11 but when I attempt to install the System Update ver. 3.14 file the install almost completes and then rolls back at the time the registry entries should be made.
The webpage where the System Update ver 3.14 download is give me a green check mark with regard to my Microsoft .Net being OK.
I did a search on TVSU roll back but got no results.
    Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Regards,
    Chris

  • PSE11 - installing error 1935 rolls back

I have tried several suggestions to install PSE 11 on my Windows 7 computer, without any success. The installation stops, rolls back, and error 1935 shows up. Adobe, nor Microsoft, seem to have a clue on what will work on my machine. Some suggestions get too deep into the computer for me to follow. Since I am not that advanced in tinkering in areas that I could screw up the parts of the machine that works, I wonder if Windows 7 has a problem that cannot be fixed. Others have experienced the same issue with error 1935.
I am not willing to try Windows 8 if Microsoft cannot fix this problem on 7.
For now I am stuck without my new version of PSE being usable.

The following article is for Acrobat or Reader but might work for you:

    Hi,
    You must foloow these steps:
1 - Uninstall iTunes and (if it is possible) Quicktime
2 - You must download the Windows Inatll Clean Up utility from Microsoft
3 - Using this tool you must remove iTunes and Quicktime only
4 - Reboot your computer and install iTunes again
    Must work...

  • PSE 9 installation rolling back.

I came across this question may times on this forum, did a bit of research and followed what had been advised : i-e renaming the cache.db file, disabling the anti-virus and trying a re-install and yet it failed (rolled back again). I must mention i have adobe lightroom 3.2 and PSE 8 installed on my machine already. Can anybody help? i ll be highly oblidged.

I've been happily using v3 for years.  I like to try the new versions to see if there is any reason to upgrade. There never is, and all the reports of bugs I read here don't encourage me. The quality at all levels seems to have gone downhill. Perhaps this is just part of the price we consumers must pay for adobe (and many others) shipping all those jobs offshore (and/or shipping - theoretically - cheaper foreign labor over here.)?
I tried to download and install the v9 trial, under Windows 7, and got that same message.  I eventually wasted about four hours and accomplished nothing.  The support information was equally "helpfull" - at which point I just gave up.  If Adobe doesn't care, why should potential customers?
On a positive note, I think the free GIMP program will do anything I need, and it downloaded with no drama.
(I'll trade you a program that works for one that sounds good in the sales pitch!)

  • ITunes 64 bit installer rolls back action on win 8 64 bit system

I do not know what i am doing wrong, I just bought a new win 8 64 bit system and iTunes keeps rolling back before the install completes. I have tried running it as administrator and turning off firewall but it did not work. Please Help.

Apple iPad appears to be under "Portable Devices" section and driver is from Microsoft. There is no driver under USB-section and instructions that provided in first reply I have gone thru and they are no go with this problem - they are more likely for older iPod etc devices and dot with issue to deal with 64bit/32bit things. The picture (image.jpg) gives me unfortunately just general error...

  • Installing itunes + quicktime rolling back action issues

hey, i know this has been mentioned before, but i have been searching hours on end to try and fix this and nothing so far
I just got an ipod touch, and when i go to the apple site to download the itunes and quicktime, i go to install and it keeps rolling back action and in the end it says that "quicktime was unable to install, itunes needs quicktime to install". I tried downloading both of the separately and they both keep rolling back actions. I dont have itunes or quicktime installed on my computer previously, and I am running them as administrators.
this is really frustrating as I cant even turn on my ipod touch because I cant install itunes, any help with this problem?

seein if anyone has a chance to help out
