Elements 10 is not responding

I have windows 7 64 bit I can't get Elements 10 Organizer to open. It worked fine when I first enstalled it, but now all I get when I try to use it is  ELEMENTS 10 ORGANIZER IS NOT RESPONDING

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor.
The Editor's executable is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
The Organizer's executable is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.

    Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
    Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
    Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
    On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
    Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
    Now launch PSE and check if it works.

    I have elements 10 and it is forever crashing with message "Adobe Elements 10 is not responding."

    When I get the error, I’m given two options, cancel the program or wait until Elements 10 responds. Some time if I wait long enough it will respond but only to crash again. This seldom happens in Editor.
    This is a new catalogue on the new computer. I never had this problem with earlier versions of Elements—only with 9 and 10.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 11 is not responding

    I work on a macbook pro.  I have Adobe premiere elements 11. I uploaded video to a new project. I dragged some of the thumb nails onto the timeline on Thursday and successfully edited.  Today I dragged a few more onto the timeline and began editing.  All of a sudden, the cursor begins spinning.  I go to force quit and it tells me that the program is not responding.  I quit and tried again.  I have rebooted my computer a number of times, but to no avail.  Any suggestions as what I can try to keep the program running and edit my project?  Should I just open a new project and start from scratch since I haven't edited many of the interviews?

    Please determine if you can open a new project without problems.
    Do you work with the AutoSave ON in preferences (Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoSave)? If so, go to the Adobe Premiere Elements Auto Save Folder and go through the Auto Saves
    seeking one that will open after you double click it. Each of those AutoSaves is the project file at different phases of your editing. If you get one that opens, then build it back to where you were before you ran into the problem.
    If you can get to the build back from an AutoSave, I would watch closely to see what addition to the project sends the project back into trouble again. Then we target
    the addition for troubleshooting.
    Please review and consider and then let us know the outcome.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 Error Not Responding

    I am trying to get assistance in getting my photoshop back up and running.  I have called Adobe and there is no sympathy all they want is money to fix it.  They have sent me here to speak to an Adobe Tech.  I am finding that this is a very common issue but none of the resolutions have worked.  Everytime I try to enter my organizer my program stops working and gives the message "not responding".  I am running on Windows 7.  Please help, I am getting very frustrated with Adobe...

    Try right clicking on the Organizer desktop icon and then choosing “Run As administrator”
    If you don’t have a desktop icon, this is how to create one.
    On Windows right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
    And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file
    “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)
    Select it and click OK
    Click next
    Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
    Then click finish
    You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
    You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application (.exe file which has the blue PSE icon). As before take out Photoshop Elements just leaving the description Editor and it will show up clearly on the desktop.

  • Elements 3.0 not responding

    I'm using Windows XP and when I click on the program, it does not respond. I've gone to control panel and did the repair to no avail. There must be something that has corrupted the program and I don't know where to begin to look for an answer.
    Tech support advises that they no longer offer support for Elements 3.0. I wonder if I installed Elements 4.0 or 5.0 if that will solve the problem?

    I'm having the same problem. I've tried renaming 3.0 to 3.0.old, and when I go back in, it shows 3.0.old, plus a regular 3.0 that wasn't there before (so I assume I did that correctly).
    I pushed the control key when Organizer was starting up, and it did stall at 33% and then 66% and then gave me the successful recovery message very quickly (under a minute). But, Organizer is still hung up and refusing to open. What do I do now? I was inclined to go install 5.0 or something, but from what I'm reading here, I need to get the problem fixed before upgrading to a later version. Is that correct? Any suggestions for what I can do to get this issue sorted? I was hoping one of these 2 fixes would be the "miracle fix" it was for Howard, but alas .........
    Thanks so much for any help!! Oh, and I'm *very* non-techie, so I need fairly explicit step-by-step instructions.

    Installed Elements 13 a couple of days ago. When trying to open a file from the Organizer in the Editor, I frequently get "Organizer not responding."  Wait ... wait ... try to shutdown Organizer, which itself takes a couple of minutes.
    Did not have this problem with Elements 12.

    Deselecting the Media Analysis options has helped noticeably. It no longer freezes, but still seems to take longer than with Elements 12.

    Just Elements 13.
    Noticed something else. When I haven't used Elements for a while, things take considerably longer at first. Once I've worked with a couple of pictures, things speed up. Presumably this is due to having to swap various parts in when Elements is started. Once you're underway I'd guess the swapping is reduced and therefore things speed up.
    Similarly, I notice faster response when I use Elements right after a reboot, with little else running.
    I'm no technical whiz, but this suggests to me that more memory might help.
    In any event, the major improvement seems to have come when I unchecked the Media-Analysis options. As things stand, the response is acceptable.

  • Adobe photoshop elements 11 organizer, NOT RESPONDING

    I installed 11 yesterday and have converted existing catalogs, imported new media, including some movie clips. While in organizer I watched some of the short movies ( 2 minutes or less). I opened, watched and closed 2 or three movies and then Organizer just hangs in the "not responding" category of windows 7.  This has occcurred 3 times. There are 18,000 items in organizer. This machine has 4 GB of memory and lots of disk space. Any ideas?

      If You don’t need people recognition and the auto-analysis options you could turn everything off to improve performance. Go to:
    Edit >> Preference >> Media Analysis
    Uncheck all the boxes and click OK

    No matter what i try i cannot get the editor to open. Keep getting the dreaded NOT RESPONDING message.
    Software has run ok for months before this.
    Tried deleting the preferences file... no joy
    Uninstalled software then re-installed having deleted preference... no joy.
    Tried creating a direct shortcut to the editor .exe file ... no joy.
    Surely someoneat Adobe knows about this problem!
    By the way the Organiser works fine.

    You may try the following things-
    - If anti virus is running. try launching with anti-virus turned off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    - If you have a network printer attached and added as a default printer, wither uninstall and retry or remove it as the default printer.
    Let me know if these do not work!

  • Mac Elements 8 uninstall not responding

    Hello...
    I am running OSX 10.8.3, and today I tried to open Elements 8 only to get a message that, "Licensing for this product has stopped working".  I tried the solutions offered here: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html#main_Solutio n_5__Reset_permissions_on_the_Adobe_PCD_folder but still no-go.  So I want to uninstall Elements completely and reinstall it with the original disk.  Now I go to "uninstall adobe photoshop elements 8" in the finder, it asks for my password, then does absolutely nothing.
    Is there a way I can manually clean my computer of PSE so I can do a fresh install?

    Open Finder and navigate to /Applications/ Utilities/Adobe Installers.  
          Start the Uninstaller for contents or application.
    Adobe Photoshop Elements Content
    Adobe Photoshop Elements
          If you're not planning on reinstalling the application, select Remove Preferences. Otherwise, do not select this option..  
         Click Uninstall.

      Are you using the auto-analyzer. Try switching everything off and see if that improves performance. Go to:
    Edit >> Preferences >> Media Analysis

  • Photoshop Elements for Mac - Not responding

    I have had PE 12 for about 6 months on my MAC (1.5TB, free, 32 gb ram,) . All has been good. All of a sudden, I cant get the program to work - it just gives me spinning wheel of death.
    I DID remove the program via the S/W, and reloaded, and same issue. I cant access the File menu to try and repair the catalog. It just goes to spinning wheel.
    I feel like Im sunk ... can anyone help?

    Ok, thanks so much for your continued patience.
    I have repaired permissions, unistalled PE 12, reinstalled under another admin user (seems to go ok - but does not load a library)
    I switched users and tried to do a clean backup once PE 12 started under my username - but right after the prompt for revconnecting files - it gave me a spinning wheel.
    So i inderstand that my pictures and videos are srtill intact, but Iahve 30,000 + of these tagged and organized to the nines. My photos are like looking for a needle in a haystack without PE.
    So I dont know how to proceeed next. Do I delete all catalogs and replace from my most recent backup? Is there any software support Adobe Provides for this type ofd issue? My concern is if I delete my catalogs, and start a new from the backup and the program is the issue (not the catalog) I just fell back another month with my cataloging, importing and tagging.
    I've had minor issues before through v2 - v11, but this is killing me.
