Elements 10 Organizer not fully closing

I've been having issues on a Windows 8 PC with Photoshop elements 10 since I've gotten it in Dec 2012, When I close Organizer, the windows is closed. But I can't relaunch.
If I bring up Task Manager, I still see two items running, like Photoshop 10.0.exe and something similar.
To be able to re-launch, I've only found three options:
1) restart the PC
2) use Task Manager and "End Task" for the two entries
3) run a batch file with "taskkill /f /FI "IMAGENAME eq Photoshop*"
The user on this PC is getting very upset and frustrated. His work around is a sign on the "DON'T CLOSE PHOTOSHOP!"
We do not have the problem on the two PC running Windows 7.
In January we tried the recommended turning off the media analysis from organizer
1. Launch Orrganizer
2. Press Ctrl + K to launch preferenees dialog
3. Goto Media-Analysis tab
4. Uncheck all options for Auto Analyzer

There are various date/time fields shown in properties panel in Organizer. The dates mentioned in general section are read from OS whereas the dates in EXIF field are read from image's EXIF data. In EXIF data there are three date/time fields-
1. Date time- This date/time info shows date modified of EXIF properties. So when you are writing a tag into imags's IPTC, you are doing some change in EXIF data. Hence this date should change to date when you are writing a tag into IPTC.
2. Date time original - Represents date time when a image was shoot.
3. Date digitized - Represents the date when the image was digitized (in digital camers there is hardly some delay between an image is shoot and it is digitized. So this field is always same as date original).
So, in your scenario, Date time in EXIF should change whenever you are writing any tag into its IPTC.

Closed tabs not fully closed in Windows7

I'm using Firefox 4.0 beta 7 but it happened to me with other beta versions.
Sometimes when i close a tab, it is not fully closed. In the Windows taskbar I can still see it in the thumbnails when i put the mouse over Firefox application.
And in Firefox there's a space bigger between the two tabs where the "closed tab" was before and if i put my mouse over a tooltip appears with the title of the closed tab.
What can I do?

The "closed" indicator is NOT set automatically if you create PO manually with respect to PR. The indicator can be set while creating PO from PR in ME59N. But in any case, the indicator is not updated / reset from ME21N / ME22N transactions. If you set the indicator through ME59N and you delete the PO line item, then you have to manually unflag the indicator.

Elements 11 Organizer Not Working On New iMac (OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion)

The Elements 11 Organizer icon in my Applications folder has a circle with a slash through it and when I click on it I get the error 'You can't open the application "Adobe Elements 11 Organizer" because it is not supported on this type of Mac.' The packaging for the software clearly states it is compatible with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. I did an uninstall and reinstalled with no other programs running, but still have the same problem. I originally had this software installed on an older Mac Mini running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard with no problems at all.
I am able to open Elements 11 Editor, however, when I try to open a raw file from my Panasonic Lumix LX7 I get the error 'Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.' Once again, I had no problem opening this file on my Mac Mini and the Lumix LX7 is a supported camera. I am able to open a NEF file from my Nikon D5100, and I am able to open a JPEG file from the Lumix.

I have done as you suggested; I uninstalled PSE 11 and set my wife's account up as admin and reinstalled from there. Still have the same problem with my wife's account, but when I went to mine it is working correctly. Any ideas on why that would be? I'm sure it should work on both accounts. I have 2 accounts on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and it works on both.

Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer not writing metadata to files

Trying to use Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer to update date taken and add tags to picture files. Organizer is supposed to write/update the original file properties with this updated/new metadata, however, it seems to be pretty haphazard. I've tried selecting pictures and using the menu option to "Write keyword tag and properties info to photo" (CRTL + W). It processes and states it is updating the files, however, after it completes, you can access the source file in Windows Explorer and view properties but none of the changes (date info or tags) has been updated in the file.
Adobe support has been not been helpful simply pointing me to a knowledge article on metadata which basically tells you to use the same commands I'm already performing. Posting here to see if anyone has other suggestions.

Elements 12 Organizer not functioning correctly uploading files and viewing.

Elements 12 Organizer does not function correctly. It will upload new files but will not allow me to view correctly or edit. I attempts to reconnect files. When I attempt to do this manually it states that the files are already there. Very frustrating and Adobe representatives will not assist me.

Elements 13 organizer not responding

Installed Elements 13 a couple of days ago. When trying to open a file from the Organizer in the Editor, I frequently get "Organizer not responding." Wait ... wait ... try to shutdown Organizer, which itself takes a couple of minutes.
Did not have this problem with Elements 12.

Deselecting the Media Analysis options has helped noticeably. It no longer freezes, but still seems to take longer than with Elements 12.

Just Elements 13.
Noticed something else. When I haven't used Elements for a while, things take considerably longer at first. Once I've worked with a couple of pictures, things speed up. Presumably this is due to having to swap various parts in when Elements is started. Once you're underway I'd guess the swapping is reduced and therefore things speed up.
Similarly, I notice faster response when I use Elements right after a reboot, with little else running.
I'm no technical whiz, but this suggests to me that more memory might help.
In any event, the major improvement seems to have come when I unchecked the Media-Analysis options. As things stand, the response is acceptable.

Elements 9 Organizer not sharing with SmugMug

Elements 9 Organizer has stopped sharing with SmugMug. How can this be fixed ?

You could try the services trick.
In the Organizer you can go to Edit à Preferences à Adobe Partner Services
Under Location you can use the Choose button and then change to United States & Canada. SmugMug then usually appears in the list of services.

Adobe photoshop elements 11 organizer, NOT RESPONDING

I installed 11 yesterday and have converted existing catalogs, imported new media, including some movie clips. While in organizer I watched some of the short movies ( 2 minutes or less). I opened, watched and closed 2 or three movies and then Organizer just hangs in the "not responding" category of windows 7. This has occcurred 3 times. There are 18,000 items in organizer. This machine has 4 GB of memory and lots of disk space. Any ideas?

If You don’t need people recognition and the auto-analysis options you could turn everything off to improve performance. Go to:
Edit >> Preference >> Media Analysis
Uncheck all the boxes and click OK

Premeire Elements 9 Organizer not loading (64 bit vs. 32 bit os)

I have two pc's one a 64 bit win 7 and one a 32 bit win 7.
On the 64 bit the Organizer will not launch. I reinstalled ape 9 twice to no avail.
So I installed it on the 32 bit machine and it works fine...
Does anyone have an idea why I can't get Organizer to work on the 64 bit machine?

That's a common misconception. The 4GB limit of 32 bit OSX holds for the combination of physical memory and virtual memory. Even on a machine with only 2GB you can exceed the total memory limit while not even exceeding the 2gb physical memory limit. On a 4GB machine even more so. You won't be able to use the whole physical memory because the virtual memory also allocated will reach the total limit before.
So using 64 bit processes is of advantage even if you have less than 4gb of physical memory. And that's a very practical truth for logic and can be verified easily.

Premiere Elements 9 does not fully support AVCHD

Don't believe the reviews such as the one on http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ which state that Adobe Premiere Elements 9 supports AVCHD export to a disk. It DOES NOT!
I happily purchased the product last week based on this review, and what I had thought was a solid brand name solution for editing AVCHD video and rendering it on DVDs. Lo and behold this product only IMPORTS AVCHD - the most popular HD format for consumer video cameras. My export choice is to either settle for low resolution on a DVD or purchase a Blu Ray burner and insanely expensive, Blu Ray disks that are too large for most of my needs if I want any type of HD output.
Why would Adobe produce such a brain dead product so long after AVCHD as been on the market? As a result of my frustration, two days ago I purchased Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 for less money and it does a fabulous job editing and rendering AVCHD on a DVD. Furthermore it SCREAMS compared to the Adobe product.
I would highly recommend that anyone who has an AVCHD HD video camera not purchase this product and look at the Corel software instead.
Am I missing something here?

Thanks everyone for the posts. Although I didn't really ask a question expecting an answer, with all the back and forth reaponses the correct answer is really quite clear. If you want to easily produce HQ quality edited videos on anything other than expensive Blu-Ray disks with an expensive burner then buy a different product. Premiere Elements 9 doesn't do it.
I would HIGHLY recommend Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 for those of you who contributed to the responses to my post. it works great, and with one click you can burn a beautiful high definition edited movie on INEXPENSIVE DVDs. They will play on virtually any of the newer Blu-Ray players, since most support AVCHD, and you don't need tp purchase a Blu Ray burner either.
Hopefully Premiere Elements 10 will get it right. In the mean time does anyone want to but version 9 REALLY cheap? It's worth about as much to me as the salvage value of the plastic that went into the install disc.....

Elements 11 will not fully download

i go to the adobe site, i then download the elements 11 programe, but just before it finishes, it stops and rolls back saying cannott download ideas ?

Applications not fully CLOSING!!

I proceed to close my applications, the windows and menu bar close, but there is still the blue light underneath the application icon. Whats going on here? I do have ContentBarrierX (not X4) installed, and have read that X4 is known to be causing problems, but is ContentBarrierX causing problems as well, or is there another problem with my computer??
PLEASE HELP!
This is urgent, it really stinks force restarting the computer in order to close my applications.
P.S. I have tried Option-Shift-Escape or w/e to try and force quit the programs, but they do NOT quit.

All applications, or only some and if so which ones? And if you're still on 10.5.0, you might try updating to 10.5.1 (I'd suggest downloading the updater rather than using Software Update) and see if that helps.

Why is firefox not fully closing in Windows 7 64 bit on my I5 notebook?

Most of the time when I close firefox and then wait a bit then try to pull it up it says that firefox is already running. So I have to go to task manager and force a close. I have an Acer Aspire 5741G, 4 gigs of DDR3 ram, the I5-430M Processor. I just got the notebook 2 months ago and have updated Windows 7, Firefox, and made sure that the laptop drivers are all updated, Java, flash too. The funny thing is that sometimes it does shut down all the way, but most of the time it doesn't.

Which operating system are you running on?
Try starting the organizer while holding down the shift key. Hopefully, it should load the Catalog Manager.
Select your current catalog and click on the Repair button. Once it has finished, click on the Open button to see if the catalog opens.

Have you checked whether you have folder for PSE Organizer? It is normally at this location in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1:
<C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer>
If the folder is there then try double-clicking on the file called: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
If the folder isn't there at all then you need to re-install the package again using your original disks or from download from Adobe website. <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>
