Elements 11 crashes every time i use sketch filters

I am on a new macbook pro using elements 11 and every time i use the sketch filters the program crashes. How do i get this fixed?

Which OS are you on?
Please try running Organizer with Admin rights, directly from PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe if on Windows.
Another thing that you can try if on Windows - is - run your system in Compatibility Mode. To do this you need to-
- Close Organizer if open.
- Locate 'PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe'. By default it is present at '%programfiles(x86)%\Adobe\Elements 8 Organizer\'
- Select the file and right click and select 'Properties'
- Switch to 'Compatibility' tab
- Select check box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
- Select 'Windows XP SP2. Click 'OK'
- Launch Organizer and try email workflow once again

Why does FCPX crash every time I use plug-in effects?

I don't understand why FCPX crashes every time I use a plug-in effect. I install the plug-in effects in the Effects folder - User/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects - and I apply the plug-in effect to the clip in the timeline, but as soon as the clip is in the viewer and I open the inspector FCPX crashes. Why does this happen??
I have tried different plug-in effects, but it crashes every time I try to use the them.
I use a FCPX trial (10.0.1) and I don't have motion 5 installed.

Ok, I need to 'fess up. The issue turns out was not the plug-in. It was my NAS. My Ethernet config was changed then changed back again so although the NAS seemed fine and accessible after the changes, clearly not everything was perfect. The FCP Events and the Project itself I am working on live on the NAS and I work directly from it. A reboot cleared up the whole problem. Dah, I'm such an idiot.

Speedgrade crashes every time I use split into clips function as part of scene detection.

Speedgrade CC (latest version) crashes every time I use split into clips function as part of scene detection.
I can use the keyframe function fine, but if i split it into clips it crashes 9 out of 10 times... so to get the job done i simply keep reopening the project, cliping and praying it works, then it crashes.... and i repeat this until it doesnt crash!
File format im using is a 22min long Prores422 HQ 1080 25P file.
Any ideas?.... im guessing im going to get the old "reinstall the software" one first... anything else?
also have issues with Speedgrade just crashing for no good reason at random times while im grading too but ive come to expect that from the buggy software.

I've got several 1080p mov's that have multiple sequences with 20 to 40 minutes a sequence I've regularly run over to Sg from PrPro. Granted, they're pretty straight forward, mostly simple cuts with a few transitions/wipes, no more than 3 video layers a sequence. Only one has any Ae stuff on it, and again, pretty simple.
But as noted, there are those who do programs for broadcast with it ... I'm wishing one would chime in. Maybe shooternz ... I think he does b-cast work. Vastly more experienced than I am, PrPro, Ae, Sg, Audition ... the "suite". There's several others around here, though they tend to 'hang' in the PrPro forum more than here.

InDesign CC crashes every time I use type tool

I just installed InDesign last night and every time I use the type tool the program crashes. Any suggestions?

How do you expect a designer to go through 300 plus fonts to find a font that might possibly cause issues? Indesign CS5 works fine with the fonts installed. Working in safe boot is not an option in a daily work flow. It must be a bug. (Mac intel OS 10.8.4) Indesign does not crash when using text tool on OS 10.6.x

Updated to Firefox4 and now it crashes every time I use a search engine... goggle, yahoo, bing, take your pick.

I updated to Firefox4 and at first everything seemed to run just fine, but then I tried to search for something, using Google... it crashed.I tried again, then with several other search engines... it crashed every time and took everything else with it.
I tried it with both the search bar and by manually typing in the add for the search engine. If I call up the site nothing bad happens, but it still crashes as soon as I start a search. Tried it with Explorer and Safari and everything worked ok, it's just Firefox having these problems.

ID CS 3.0.1 (838) crashes every time I use the Direct Selection Tool

We have recently installed an upgrade to InDesign CS for being able to open documents generated by newer ID versions, thus turning the InDesign version into CS 3.0.1 (838).
Since then, every time we start to use the Direct Selection Tool (white arrow) the program crashes.
As this is a relatively old upgrade (2005), I was hoping to find the solution on the Internet but had no success.
Does anyone know what should we do to solve this problem?

Yes, I did. Even though we're in Brazil, we prefer to use the softwares in their native language (english) in order to get eventual updates more quickly. This also applies to the operational environment (Windows XP Professional - SP3, with the most recent updates installed)

IWeb Crashes EVERY time I use it!

iWeb crashes every single time I use it. Even with the media browser closed I have this issue. Apple must address the stability of this program as it clearly cannot be used on an ongoing basis with this type of stability issue.
Does anyone else have this problem? Even text editing in iWeb is enough for the application to freeze. I have a very high-spec system so this should not be happening.

Flip4Mac works with iApps just fine by itself.
There is a conflict with third party Quicktime Components 3ivx and Divx. Simply move the components you are not using (doesn't have to be Flip4Mac at all) to the desktop and it should work fine. Move the component you need back in the Quicktime folder as needed.
Have you installed the Flip4Mac Quicktime component,
for Windows Media compatability? If you have, you

Everything Crashes Every Time I Use The Phone?!?

I bought an iPhone 4s this afternoon. As soon as I had synced it with iTunes on my computer, it started doing this thing where every single time I try to do anything (use an app, alter a setting, send a message, edit a contact, etc.) it crashes and returns me to the home screen. I went back to the store and they didn't look at it, but rather decided to just trade out the phone immediately since it was brand new. I just got back home and the exact same thing keeps happening with the new phone. What is the problem? And how can I fix it? I literally can't use anything or do anything on it.

I'm having the same problem. I'm using a Retina Macbook Pro with OS X 10.8.4.
It's not actually crashing (for me at least). What is happening is I double click the scale tool and the Scale Dialog box comes up. I can enter a numer in the first box, but the dialog box becomes unresponsive then. I can not get rid of the box, or do anything else with InDesign CC. My only option is to force quite the program
I have seen this happen at my office when I have my Wacom Cintiq plugged in, or at home when I have a Bamboo Sketch plugged in. I have not noticed it yet without a tablet yet. I don't know if that is the culprit - I only use the Mac without a tablet about 10% of the time.

Kernel Panic - causing my iMac to crash every time i use it - it is not clear what is causing this issue - i am on the lastest version of Mountain Lion

Hi, this is driving me mad, any help in identifying a fix would be so great!
I seem to get this all the time since i upgraded to OS X Lion, am now on Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) and the problem is persisting - my PC hard ware is: 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, the Mac has 4GB of memory (667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM), it is using a ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB Graphics card.
The result is a kernel panic, leading to the system crashing and waiting for a remote debugger connection. I have attached the report below.
I should mention that post the Iion upgrade, i have taken my PC to the Genius bar and they have re-installed the OS - however it has not fixed the problem, despite the mac guys thinking it had.

Photoshop crash every time I use my brush preset.

So I made a simple brush of a leaf, and after I selected the presets that I want for this brush my photoshop crashed, this happened several times. Interestingly I noticed that if i did not choose color dynamics and change the fore/background jitter, photoshop is fine. But I want to be able to use this preset! Any ideas?
I've got the macbook pro and it's only half a year old, so I don't think it's a problem with ram or anything like that... =(

btw, you can find the brush presets in windows ->brush
and select options such as brush dynamics and color dynamics there. =)

System-wide crash every time I use GarageBand

I just bought a new iMac and installed the most recent version of GarageBand. In the past week I've tried to record two podcasts; both times about halfway through my entire system went down. The keyboar and mouse became unresponsive and the only way I could recover was to hold the power button on the back of the iMac down until it shut down, and then restart.
The first time it happened with the newest version of GB. The second time I decided to use the older version thinking the crash might have been a problem with the newer one, but my system crashed in the same way.
Any ideas?

Did you install any other software, that is not Apple software at all - helper applications, like additional menus, for example iStat menu, etc? if the mac is clean, without any third-party software, this should not happen. But if you downloaded third-party apps, they might be incompatible and cause problems.
This is a brand new installation of Mavericks (new computer) and I'm not having any other problems, so I'm not sure if I can chalk it up to a system issue.
GarageBand is more challenging for your system than other applications. It will use other frameworks and more memory than other apps. So it can have problems, where other applications are having none.
To check, if some setting in your user account is problematic, log into the guest user account and start GarageBand as a different user. Can you record in GarageBand from that account? You can enable the Guest User from the "System Preferences > Users&Groups" panel.
If there are no crashes in a different account, post back. Then we need to find corrupted preference files or similar.
If you are covered by warranty or Apple Care, I'd contact Apple and let them check the hardware.

Lion Preview.app crashes every time i use a key command

Whenever I use a key command in Preview.app it crashes.
I'm fine selecting any command from the actual menus, but as soon as I use the key commands for the same functions the app crashes.
(And we're talking also basic stuff like command N or O or even Period to exit an Open dialog.)
So … anyone have any ideas?
I've tried trashing all Preview preferences in my library folder, and I've repaired permissions, and I've tried a safe boot … but the problem remains.
The problem is local, and everything works just fine for other user accounts on the same machine. But I'd rather solve the issue than migrating all my data to a new account.

Ha! Fixed it!
Kept reading all "Preview+plist" threads and found this one: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17195650#17195650
And sure enough, trashing ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview/ reset the preferences for Preview.app and now all key commands work without crashing.
But if erasing that folder, and more importantly the plist in it, did reset the preferences, that would suggest the preferences were being saved there. So I now changed the prefs and quit the app, and then trashed the containers folder again, and restarted the app. But strangely the prefs remained. So I thought, well if the prefs were being stored there, maybe erasing that plist made Preview reinstate the regular plist in the regular Preferences folder? But no go, as there's still no regular Preview plist in the regular Preferences folder.
So now, there's no regular plist, and erasing the Containers folder no longer resets the prefs, but changes to prefs are still being saved somewhere … so where the **** are they being saved now? It's like they just keep burrowing down further into the ground with every attempt to erase them. What the **** is going on? ;-)
Anyways, the initial problem is solved, so … maybe I should just let the mystery remain? ;-)

Adobe Flash crashes every time I use it in Firefox

I am tired of Adobe Flash constantly crashing on me using the latest versions of Firefox and Flash. I have tried updating both Firefox and Flash to the latest versions. I have tried disabling hardware acceleration. I have uninstalled Realplayer. NONE OF THESE RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS have helped. This is making Firefox unusable for me. I am having to use Chrome now. Help me.

(Photoshop CS2) It crashes every time I use my brush tool for a long time. Help?

Hi,
I have recently been having some trouble with my photoshop cs2 (it isn't my computer because it is easily quicker them the majority of computer I have been on and it's only a recent problem). I can use all my tools very easily without having any little pauses and it wont crash, but with my brush tool, after using the brush for a long stroke without unclicking it crashes. Well, it pauses for 2 mins- 4 hours (wont let me click on another tool or carry on drawing or select layers and such). Since I am an artist and work on photoshop for a living , not being able to use the brush tool is a huge problem for me. I have no intension of updating my software to cs3/4/5, (as I don't want to pay for all that software and then find that it crashes again). I recently got my new bamboo graphics tablet and it is even slower when using that. This is also a very recent problem so I was wondering if anyone else had had this before and found a way around it?

I actually believe there are updates for Photoshop itself, not through Mac Software Update. You should check if there are any updates for the product on this website. Photoshop also tends to glitch sometimes. For example, on PSCS4 for Mac, after opening the program, and changing the toolbar to the traditional 2-column style, the quck mask button is totally cut off unless I switch it to the 2-column style twice.
