Elements 11 install error

I am trying to install Elements 11 and I get an error that says error while installing shared technologies restart and try again. I cannot get past this point does anyone know what this is and what the fix would be?

Sorry about not replying earlier.  No I am not having the issue any longer.
It took two live chat sessions and a remote session with Adobe tech support to come to the conclusion I needed to figure this out on my own.  That was a wasted 6 hours one night...
Anyway, the clue to the solution is in the error message.  The install process could not find information on Camera Profiles Installer 5.0.65.0 which is not the version that was installed on my system  I believe when Lightroom was upgraded on my system the Camera Raw version was upgraded to 6.67 but was not the correct version for a system with PS Elements installed.  I downloaded the latest update of Camera Raw specifically to work with Elements, upgraded the software and re-ran the PS Elements 11 installer.  Everything worked...
Thanks for checking back with me!

  • Photoshop elements 12 install error

Hello, I was in the process on installing photoshop elements 12 on my windows 8 computer and got message that the lightroom I have downloaded, I need to close it which I did after I did the lightroom 5.3 updated.  It still would not continue and said the same message so I restarted my computer in the middle of the installed cause it suggested it. Now when I click on the icon it comes up with "The program can't start because amtlib.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem."  I was afraid of uninstalling the program and reinstalling that I would get some error regarding the serial number.  Please advise.
    Holiday912

Holiday912 please run the uninstaller for Photoshop Elements 12 from the Programs and Features control panel.  You will then want to try reinstalling again.  If you continue to face difficulties with the installation then please see Troubleshoot installation | Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements | Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html.

  • Elements 10 Install Error

I have purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 from Adobe.  The premiere install went fine but I get an error when trying to install Photoshop elements 10.  It appears the installer completes the extraction process and when it begins the actual installation it returns "error installing, check available space or verify adminstrative priviledges".  I am running Windows 7 Pro and have over 200GB of available space and I amd signed on with an account with administrative rights.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dan,
Based on your description I think the things I would recommend trying.
    - Delete the contents of your user temp directory, an easy way to get there is using %temp% command in the search box
    - If you are installing from a download, copy the installation files to the desktop prior to extraction (.exe and .7z files)
    - Run error-checking on the C: drive and only attempt to install the software to the C: drive
    - Temporarily turn down UAC to the lowest setting and attempt to the installation again
    - Try running the install from Windows 7 built in Administrator account
We have this support document that includes additional info about some of these steps

If you're not familiar with these processes or how to perform them I would encourage you to contact our tech support department for assistance

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Install Error

While attempting to install Photoshop Elements 10 I received an error message:  try to run set up again.  After three attempts I keep gettng the same message.  Did I get a lemon of a CD?  What can I do to fix this?  I bought a physical cop of the program so I can use it on the multiple computers I use but this is rediculous! HELP!!

Would have to try installing program again as your operator ended our
conversation without warning, and when I tried to email myself a copy of
the interaction so I could recall the error number, nothing made it to my
    email.
I'm using Windows OS on a brand-new laptop I purchased just last week.
I plan on going back to BestBuy with the laptop and the program to see what
the problem is - a 60 mile trip.  I am not impressed with your "help"
    system.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 install error caused by "Shared Technologies"

I've been unable to install PE 11 on my Windows 8 computer.  I keep getting the message "Installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies", then it rolls back the installation.  I've tried a couple of solutions from the troubleshooter page, none have worked.  Would appreciate any help, thanks

You evidently bought the windows version. .Exe files are windows files. The mac version would be a .dmg file. You'll need to contact adobe or wherever you bought it to get straightened out. Download serial numbers are platform-specific.

  • Premiere Elements 11 "installing Shared Technologies" error during install

How do I fix the "The installation process has encountered an error whil installing Shared Technologies.  Please restart your system and try again." error while installing Premiere Elements 11?  Photoshop Elements 11 installed fine, but I keep receiving this error while trying to install Premier Elements 11.
    I have already tried:
    Install from CD
    Install from C: drive root
Install from Adobe website trial version
Install from CD, after clean boot
In each case it installs at the same place with the same error.
From searching these forums and doing a web search it seems like a common problem with no clear solution.

I do not know if what I am about to report will help or confuse the Premiere Elements users further on this Shared Technology error encountered during Premiere Elements installation, but here is hoping that something in the following experience might be of help to someone....
I entered your thread with the Shared Technology error (targeting Elements Organizer/Data 7) when trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 on a new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Unlike the others I had no problems installing Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements 11 from the Adobe installation disc a week earlier on this brand new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Short of re-formatting the hard drive, I did everything plus with no luck in getting versions 10 installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer. So, I decided to focus on working with the already installed version 11 programs.
I headed for Premiere Elements 11 to create a DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc and to my horror found that the program's burn dialog had no burner(s) in the burner location (either the build in one or an external burner (USB). But, Premiere Elements 11 burn to folder did work. On the other hand, I found that Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer File Menu feature to burn (datadisc) to CD or DVD did recognize these burners and that burn to feature worked. I went through the typical drill for those in this type of situation and nothing remedied the problem. So, I decided to go for the deactivate/uninstall/reinstall route. Well,  now Premiere Elements 11 reinstallation ran into the same fate as Premiere Elements 10, that is, it ran into the Shared Technologies error related to installation of the Elements Organizer and Premiere Elements 11 would not install after going through everything decribed in this thread, excluding re-formatting the hard drive.
    1. Deactivated/uninstalled Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11.
    2. Apply the cclearer: cleaner and registry cleaner. And, then went into the Registry and deleted all related to Photoshop Elements 10/Premiere Elements 10 as well as Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11.
    3. Disabled firewall, antivirus, spyware...
    4. Tried to reinstall Premiere Elements 11, using the installation files (setup.exe in 64 bit folder) copied to hard drive. No go. Same Shared Technology error.
    5. Started deleting programs that I had installed after the initial successful installs of Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 (these programs included iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn). Still no go for the Premiee Elements 11 install, and same Shared Technologies error.
FINALLY, Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 got successfully installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer according to the following scenario (iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn still removed from system...firewall, antivirus, spyware protection re-enabled)
    1. Attached a USB burner to computer via one of its USB 3.0 ports.
    2. Inserted the Adobe installation disc into the burner tray of this burner in order to install the program(s) via the installation disc.
    3. Selected install for Photoshop Elements 11. It went to completion without problem.
    4. Selected install for Premiere Elements 11. It went to completion without problem. And, now the burn dialog/burner location did recognize the computer's built in burner and my USB external burner.
None of the above may have had anything to do with what finally triggerd the version 11 installation processes to go to completion. But, I add this to the mix of how Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11 finally got installed in Windows 8 for the user.
And, I would offer this suggestion to those who have already installed Premiere Elements 11 on their Windows 8 64 bit. As soon as possible make sure you have burners listed in the burner location of the program's burn dialog.

  • Premiere Elements 11 gives error "encountered a problem installing shared technologies" and does not install.

I have Photoshop Elements 11 installed but Premiere Elements will not install due to the problem installing shared technologies. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to fix the issue. I tried the installation several times.

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on? For now I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. Are you installing the program from
an installation disc or from installation files?
The Shared Technologies error is an old story that afflicts several versions of Premiere Elements on several different computer operating systems. My encounters with this error
have been using installation disc for the program involved.
There are numerous home remedies. The one that has been working for me lately and consistently has been the disabling of the OOBE Folder which is found
    Local Disk C
    Program Files (x86)
    Common Files
    Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder is the OOBE which you disable by changing the folder name from OOBE to OLDOOBE.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
    Do not give up.

  • Photoshop Elements 8.0 errors on install

I have a new computer and when I try to install PS Elements 8.0 I get the following error:
    "Photoshop Elements 8.0 error 1326:Error getting file security:C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\8.0\Flash Galleries\Dynamic\ GetLastError: 5"
Any ideas what I can do to get this to install?

If you are installing from disk you could try copying the contents to a new folder on the desktop. Installation often works better from the desktop than from the disk drive.
I would suggest you start by uninstalling everything from the control panel then go to your new folder and find the install.exe or set-up.exe file and right-click on it and choose “Run As Administrator”
Before you start the fresh install, temporarily disable internet security/anti-virus software.

  • Installing Elements 11 on Mac. Need help with install error "Setup wants to make changes."

Installing Elements 11 on Mac 10.8.2. Need help with install error:  Setup wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this."  After entering Adobe password, nothing happens.  Locked from further installation.  Any ideas?  Adobe phone support could not help.

Just before letting changes (installation in this case) be made on the system, Mac OS prompts for password & this has to be the Mac system password. This password prompt is the system's own native prompt & would accept the system password only. Please make sure it is the right system password (all/admin rights) and the installaion should run.
