Elements 11 issues opening

My recent download purchase of Elements 11 will not open. What is causing this?

Hi Andaleeb. Thanks for your efforts.
I opened PSE 10 Organiser on Windows 8 from the Start Screen and all seemed normal. A message suddenly appeared saying the app needed to restart and search for errors. After few minutes, message came up saying ‘OS not recognised’ (or words to that effect). Since nothing then appeared to be happening I had to shut down pc and restart.
On restarting, all seems normal but on trying to open PSE 10 Organiser, this message appears: –
‘Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library; Runtime Error; Program:c\Program Files (x86)….; This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way; please contact the applications support team for more information’
I am a non-technical basic pc user and have enjoyed using earlier versions of Photoshop. Despite likelihood of losing thousands of photo’s, unless you can suggest a solution to this problem, I’m inclined to cut my losses and say goodbye to Photoshop app totally.

Why won't Photoshop Elements 12 open?

After being away for 3 months, I attempted to open and use PSE 12 and it does not open. Today I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking that would help, but it doesn't. It appears as though it's going to open, but the little "streaming" just stops. Your assistance in resolving this problem is greatly appreciated.

I am not a technician so I can't go too deep in the analysis... I did all I could imagine to do, I would like that somebody from Adobe would take care of this issue finding solution to the problem.

Photoshop element 8 opens a Crash report while exiting the application (win 7 64bit).

photoshop element 8 opens a Crash report while exiting the application (win 7 64bit). however the program itself is working as we can see the saved data and function it.
However no idea why it opens a crash report when the application exited properly. It's happening almost on 30 computers. re-install PS8 but still the same.

Yes please i cant find the source anywhere. I have tried in bunch of computer on all or win 7 64bit but couple of them opening the crash report. Having said that program is working with no issues. it just opens the window when i exit from the application
it happens only under EDIT not on Organise
I have tried uninstalled and re-installed still it doesnt work

Issues opening CC programs

I have just changed users on my MacbookPro (I had to use a corporate user account they assigned me) and now I'm having consistent issues opening Illustrator, InDesign and especially Photoshop.
What happens is that when I go to open say Photoshop, I will get the icon in the dock to bounce a few times and then nothing happens. I've tried opening a file by clicking on the file and the same thing. I've restarted and then I can open Photoshop. It seems to happen if I have other CC software open. I tried reinstalling Photoshop but no luck.

I already have PS elements 12. I just installed PS elements 13, but it doesn't open when I go to pictures, only PS Elements 12 opens. Should I uninstall PS elements 12?

I now use Photoshop Elements 12 on my computer. I just installed PS Elements 13. But PS 13 icon does not show up on my desktop and when I open a picture, PS Elements 12 opens it. Should I uninstall PS Elements 12? If I do, will I lose my pictures?

You may set PE 13 as default program to open pictures.
If you are on window Right click on the file which you wish to open and click on propeties.
Then Right to "open with" click on change and select Photoshop Elemets 13, then click on Ok, Apply.

Hi, I try to load a photo from desktop and Elements 12 opens up but the photo doesn't appear in the screen. I used to get it but lately they don't appear.

I click on one of my photos on desktop and Elements 12 opens up but the photo doesn't appear on the screen. I was getting it before but it doesn't come through now.

Which operating system are you running on?
How are you trying to open the photos?
- from windows explorer? - double licking or right clicking and selecting Open with?
- by loading the editor and go to File -> Open?
Looking back at your other threads you seem to have had this problem before - what keeps changing?

Issue opening .cp files in Captivate 5

Good evening,
I am having issues opening some of our .cp files in Captivate 5. We are currently in the process of converting .cp -> .cptx -> HTML5. I handful of project files, when trying to open, this is what I get:
Just to clarify;
The file is not open already
I have more than enough hard drive space
CPU usage, as well as RAM usage is less than 25%
They are reading as .cp files, and this isn't the only file that is doing this
Any help would be greatly appreciated regarding what might be going on.

I found a workaround. If I open in Captivate 3, overwrite the file, then resave, it seems to open fine in Captivate 5. Ultimately, I wish there weren't so many hoops to jump through just to get these bad boys converted to HTML5. The process now is;
Open .cp in Captivate 3
Save in Captivate 3
Open .cp in Captivate 5
Save as .cptx
Open .cptx in Captivate 7
Publish to HTML5
Save in Captivate 7

You may need a version without macros on it. Unfortunately, pretty much all apps are skinned down versions of their original program, often with less functionality. For example in a word document I can italicize,bold and underline, but I only have a handful of fonts to play with and I don't think I can insert tables or images.
It is very possible that the app simply cannot run macros, which means that document may never work on an iPad.

Just installed 10.5,issues opening iphoto and everything in general is slow

I just finished installing Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
I am noticing that everything is a little slower - even clicking on MAC HD - takes about 3-4 seconds to show all files/folders etc...
The other thing, is since the install, i cannot open iPhoto!!! Says it having issues opening it, to "relaunch" "ignore" or "send report".
What's going on? I think i liked 10.3.9 better.....

You need to buy iLife '06 or later to run iPhoto in Leopard.
There is a slight risk in migrating from the old iPhoto to the new one you may lose photos. The fact you didn't backup prior to installation says you are not properly prepared to upgrade to Leopard. Backup your data to a second hard drive following my FAQ* for user data backup:

And then once you reinstall the older operating system on the non-backup drive with an erase and install, reimport the data to the older operating system, backup again a clone backup at least twice. Then you'll be prepared to upgrade to Leopard if you want to buy iLife '06 or later.

The D3200 requires at least ACR 7.1, which isn't compatible with any version of PSE prior to PSE 11, so no, you can't do this directly in PSE 9.
You could upgrade PSE, use the Nikon software to convert the files and then open the resulting images into PSE for further editing, or download the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your NEFs to DNG files that your version of PSE can understand.

if you have a win os you should have dl'd an exe and a 7z file.
put both in the same directory and double click the exe.

Issue opening microsoft powerpoint presentation

I am having issues opening a powerpoint presentation through microsoft word. The error message I am receiving is "There was an error accessing MacintoshHDusers..." Any suggestions? I am receiving the file from another mac user who I believe is using keynote.

I only know that the slide shows has .pps as an extension which is > PowerPoint and that all of these I receive as attachments the sound will not play when I open them in Keynote. Keynote opens it as a PowerPoint presentation but I have the option to change it to Keynote. The sound will not play in either option. The audeo could be in any number of Microsoft audio formats.

PSE8 can't be updated but you can download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the DNG files will open in PSE8(keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

Having issues opening attachments after Mountain Lion Update

Hello,
I am having issues opening up attachments with the correct application in mail. For instance, I received an email with a microsoft word attachment, even though, I have microsoft word installed on my mac it's telling me that it can't open it. So, I have to then open it through preview. Mail also doesn't want to print any attachments from the app itself. I have to open it in Preview first and then print it. I don't remember having to do that in Lion. Is anyone else having this problem or have a fix for this? Or am I just going crazy here? Thanks.

I'm having the same issue. So far all lion has done for me is make all my microsoft office documents un-readable until I upgrade (about $150) and lose my home share capabilities...can anyone assist with this?

Can it be that Adobe Photoshop Elements can open 11 no. Eps files? This worked before but?
If that is so, why is not it? Is there an alternative?

I just feel i should comment and say if one opens an eps with a tiff preview with File>Open As>Tiff, then all one gets in pse 11 is the 8 bit preview file and not the real fullsize eps.
And the workaround by putting the EPS Parser.8BY plugin from an older version of photoshop elements doesn't help those who don't have an older version of photoshop elements.
(yes people have a choice to buy pse 11 or not, but since adobe doesn't offer older versions, then people will still buy it)
I think a majority of people want to open vector files saved from illustrator that are not in the pdf format, in which there thousands of those on the web for download.
(as an example pse 11 ships with some postscript patterns inside the patterns folder, but one can't open them in pse 11)
I would like to suggest making the plugin available for those that don't have an older version of elements to get the EPS Parser.8BY from.
