Elements 11 organizer fails loading
Just upgraded from 10 to 11 on my Win7 64 system, and the installation went fine.
I already had trouble loading organizer 10, but running it as administrator and omitting the welcome screen solved my problem in a way, but it could only be run once. I had to reboot if I closed the organizer and wanted to start it up again.
The organizer 11 is even worse. It will not load at all. The Welcome screen also fails to load. Editor 11 works fine.
There are some discussions around this. But it is impossible to try the different suggested solutions as long as the programs (editor and welcome screen) do not load at all. Any suggestions what to do?

Right-click on the desktop and choose New >> Shortcut
Click Next and copy and paste the file path including quotes.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
You should be able to bypass the welcome screen and launch the Organizer directly.

Photoshop Element 13 (Organizer cannot load properly conflict in loading Catalog
i Have installed the trial version of photoshop element 13 on Windows 8.2 64 bitts version with lots of memory available. The pse 13 worked fine until catalog size increased to 23 GIgabytes.
Then system froze.
Finally I purchase a full version hoping to cure the problem however the installation resulted in reloading the trial version with validation code given.
The purchased version has the same problem and does not operate.
It has to be noted that the editor works but as soon as I try to use the organizer the system fails. All the previous catalogues configured for PSE 13 had been removed to prevent the error.
Any clue? Help would be appreciated.

Please try out the following steps and see if it helps:
1. While launching Organizer, keep Shift Key pressed.
2. This will launch Catalog Manager dialog > Go for creating a New catalog
3. Now if organizer launches, open preferences (Ctrl+K) > Go to Files tab
4. Uncheck following check boxes:
Automatically Search for and Reconnect missing files
Automatically generate thumbnails for video files
5. Go to Media Analysis tab and un-check all the check boxes present there.
If organizer work fine, please switch to your older catalog.

Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer failed during folder / file move
I have a large image collection, in excess of 40,000. I'm running on a PC with Windows 7 and all updates installed. I just purchased PSE 11 to replace PSE 10. After installing PSE 11 I converted my catalog. That seemed to go OK. At that point I discovered that my C: drive was almost full so I decided to move my image collection from its C: drive location to an external hard drive that had sufficient capacity. In order to ensure the integrity of the catalog I decided that I should use the PSE 11 Organizer to move the files. This would allow the Organizer to update the location information for the files as it moved them, although it was clear that this would take many hours to complete. So, using Organizer I did a "drag and drop" of my image collection's root file from the C: location to the external drive which happened to be the J: drive. Organizer appeared to be running properly so I left it to continue overnight. The next morning I discovered that only about 2/3 of the files had been moved. There was a very cryptic message that said the opertion could not be completed because of "...possibly unsupported files types, files with read only attributes.." etc. I did not write down the actual message and it did not tell me where in the transfer the failure occurred. After doing some detective work I discovered that many folders and files had been copied to the J: drive that were not appearing in the Organizer catalog and consequently were not being displayed. Some folders had only a portion of their files copied. Fortunately, the files were still visible and cataloged on the C: drive. I did look at my files on the C: drive and there were some that for what ever reason had read only attributes.
I don't have a good guess as to what was actually the root cause of the problem, but here's how I think the file movement should happen. The selected file, files, or folders should be copied to the specified destination. At that point they should be added to the catalog, then the files should be deleted from their original location and the catalog updated accordingly. If an original file is read only then it can't be deleted but the attempt to delete it should be reported as an inability to delete with no consequences imposed on the files that have been placed in their new location. The "problem" should not be promoted to the status of a serious or fatal error that causes only partial completion of the overall operation.Bill Junk wrote:

I am not sure about the details of your case, but I understand you have restored exactly the same tree structure in a new J: drive. Your catalog is always accessible in its original location.
In that case it's possible to simply create a copy of your catalog (a simple copy of the folder containing the database catalog.pseXXdb - to be found in the help menu, system info). Then you need a sqlite database management tool (I use the add-on sqlite manager in Firefox) to simply edit a single record in a table containing the identification of all drives known to the catalog. You simply edit the letter and the serial number of the drive (DOS command VOL:).
I had a case where I had a catalog and all the media on an external drive. That external drive was assigned a different letter in different computers. Either I used the above solution, or I had to reassign drive letters in one of the computers. -
Premeire Elements 9 Organizer not loading (64 bit vs. 32 bit os)
I have two pc's one a 64 bit win 7 and one a 32 bit win 7.
On the 64 bit the Organizer will not launch. I reinstalled ape 9 twice to no avail.
So I installed it on the 32 bit machine and it works fine...
Does anyone have an idea why I can't get Organizer to work on the 64 bit machine?

That's a common misconception. The 4GB limit of 32 bit OSX holds for the combination of physical memory and virtual memory. Even on a machine with only 2GB you can exceed the total memory limit while not even exceeding the 2gb physical memory limit. On a 4GB machine even more so. You won't be able to use the whole physical memory because the virtual memory also allocated will reach the total limit before.
So using 64 bit processes is of advantage even if you have less than 4gb of physical memory. And that's a very practical truth for logic and can be verified easily.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer does not load- why?
I just installed Elements 12 on a machine running Windows 8.1. Organizer will not load no matter what I do. How do I make this program work?

Unless you overrode the defaults when installing PSE 10 and PSE 12, that shouldn't be the problem. I have installed PSE 11 and then PSE 12 on my Windows 8 system. My Windows 7 is running versions 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 all quite happily.
Since you say the problem started in PSE 10, I am suspecting a problem with your catalog - more later.
When you load the editor, go to the Help menu - have you completed the Adobe Id Profile? Is there a Sign in or a Sign out option? - The Sign out would indicate that you are already signed in. Is this the sign in that freezes on your system?
Now, back to a possible catalog problem. Try holding down the shift key when you select organizer from the welcome screen and keep it held down until the organizer loads. It should take you to the Catalog Manager - now release the shift key. Click on the New button to create a new, empty catalog and give it a name like Test Temp. If the organizer still fails to load the problem is probably to do with the installation. If the new catalog allows the organizer to load then we will have to try and repair your catalog.

Elements 9 organizer won't load on mac
I am running a mac book pro with snow leopard. I have been using elements organizer for about 3 months now. Since yesterday however, every time I try to run the program, it crashes. This happened after running organizer and I had to do a force quit after it froze. When I try to reload it, it crashes at "initializing main interface". I get this long message detailing the problem.

I have already looked on previous threads concerning the same problem and have tried to do several things including
- uninstall and reinstalling the software
- running the elements on OS safemode
- running elements from a different user account
- repair permission on the hard drive
- repair catalog
- removed both com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer9.plist and com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.9.0.plist
The day before the crash, I upgraded to iphoto '11 from 'iphoto 08, so I could import my iphoto catalog into my elements catalog. As a result, the size of the catalog grew but I don't if that has anything to do with this problem. I have also tried to create a new catalog when opening organizer and pressing the <Shift>, <Option> and <Command> keys. However the program still will not load even with a new catalog. Does any one have any further suggestions on how I could get elements organizer to run again from my computer? Thanks.Trying renaming your contacts.xml file. To access the file, you need to go - Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/adobe/elements organizer/organizer/settings I just named it "renamedfile.xml". A new contacts file will appear after you reopen the program.
I've had this problem a few times and renamed this file (after a support person from Adobe told me to the first time). It opens after I remaned it.
The contacts function of the organizer doesn't seem to be a stable. It always deletes entries that I want to add in.

Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer - will not display when loaded
Can anyone help with this please?. I am new to PE9 (running under Windows 7 64-bit OS). When I start the Organizer via the Edit/Organizer menu, it loads onto the taskbar but nothing appears on the screen. Floating the mouse cursor over the taskbar icon displays the opening screen in miniature but most times nothing appears on screen. If I click on the mini display then sometimes the main display does appear but immediately disappears as soon as the mouse cursor is moved off the taskbar display.
I can usually get the Organizer to load by starting the Editor first (via the menu) and then clicking on 'Organizer' tab in the Editor.
To me, this is very strange behaviour!Try making a direct desktop icon for the Organizer and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files (x86)
Inside the Adobe >> Elements 9 Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)

Select it and click OK
Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application (.exe file which has the blue PSE icon). As before take out Photoshop Elements just leaving the description Editor and it will show up clearly on the desktop.
Go to (note slightly different path) C: Program files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9
Select the Editor application. -
Due to Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer I uninstalled the program. When I re-installed Photoshop Elements 12 on the same computer the "Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe" file is not available. I have tried loading Photoshop Elements 12 from the Adobe web site without success.
The Elements 12 shortcut can't find the Elements12.0.exe file so the program will not load. I can load the editor from its .exe file but not the organizer.

Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer does not load
I have Photoshop Element 9.0 and I am about to give up. This is the eighth or nine time that after a few weeks, My Organizer stops loading. Whe I start the application, first the Welcome screen comes up, if I click on Organizer, magic happens: no message nothing the application just disappears from the screen. I have reinstalled Photoshop Elements 9.0, after escalating through support, they told me to uninstall (which I have sone many times) and manually remove all the registry entries related to Photoshop and do a clean boot and reinstall, I have done this several times, every time the program will work for a few weeks (but only if I remove all the registry entries). This is time consuming and the problem reappears. I followed one of the suggestion on the forum to by pass the welcome screen and run directly PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe, but this results in the same problem the file will not run. Does anybody have a suggestion short of buying a different software?

I went through these steps, I got the message "nothing to repair", I clicked repair anyway, than optimized. However, when I tried to open the Catalog, same thing happens: the screen shows up with the hour glass for a few second then the program just disappears from the screen. Do you have any other suggestion?

Elements 11 Organizer hangs up loading preferences
I have noticed people have had the same issues with previous versions. please I have had elemens for 2 weeks and can't use ut.
Specifics - I launch Organizer, go edit preferences and any one I pick just gets hung up loading
My computer is a Windows PC Pentium 2.80 Gz with Quad Core CPU and 8GB of RAM running Windows 7 64 Bit

In version *"11.1.1.0.22.49.49"* mdsrt.jar, mdf-config.xml doesn't contain the loading-order tab for mds-component-config element. -
Trial version of PE10 fails on startup with error: Elements 10 Organizer\mc_codecs\mc_demux_mp2_ds
Downloaded and installed PE 10 onto new computer (Win7 Pro 64bit I72600K 16GB Ram). Did backup of PE6 on old computer moved backup to new computer and imported. Everything went fine until it hit this error. Now it hits the error immediately at start up. I can use the shift key and start in catalog mode and swithed to a different catalog. Then it starts ok but none of my 30,000 plus images are in the new catalog.
Elements 10 Organizer\mc_codecs\mc_demux_mp2_ds.ax seems to be the culprit.
Any ideas?

Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer catalog conversion
I'm having trouble converting Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 catalog to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer. I get a Conversion Failed error which tells me to repair with the program that created it. I have tried several things including deleting all .avi files from the catalog, deleting references to missing files and backing up then trying to convert from an external HD. I'm running Vista Home Premium on a HP laptop. The Organizer optimize and repair don't seem to help in this case.

Thanks for that Damead, I agree with you that Organiser is real pain (there is a total lack of intuitiveness if that is the correct word).
For my own work I use 'Lightroom' for around 90% of the time, only going into PSE10 for the 10% difficult bits the Lightroom can't handle.
I only needed to sort out the JPEG file opening method within PSE10 for some freinds in a small Photo Group that I run in Woodhall Spa, UK. 50% of the 12 members are beginners & a number of them do not have Raw capability on their Camera's, but now they can get their JPEG's into Camera Raw within PSE10 they have the same simple tabular form of adjustment sliders (not as many as in Lightroom of cause) but it gets over the labourious problem of going thru the PSE10's individual tool selection process each and every time since we are trying to get everyone in the Group working with individual Tools rather than the 'Auto' functions. We do this so that they learn what they are doing rather than staying 'dumb&happy' within Auto all the time & they also learn how to get more detailed control for each photo.
Ref. your comments on file handling/usage, I agree with your comments. Its far and away much more preferable to set up a file structure in 'Finder" (or in 'Explorer' if still using Windows) that you understand so you always know how to find the files. Also, I also never ever use the Camera Auto Load programme but physically 'drag & drop' photo files direct from the 'card' into the file system so I always know thier place (ie: they go into the location I want, not that which the Auto Loader wants).
As regards your comment about 'Lightroom', I don't have any problems at all since I just imported the whole of my photo file structure into the Lightroom Library Catalouge and then it automatically shows up on the LHS of the screen, still in that format, so you can search it direct within Lightroom and display all of the photo's in variuos arrangements and sizes; everything is as easy to find as it is in 'Finder' plus of cause you have all the 'Tagging' possibilities to use as well. As you add more new files into the 'Finder' structure, all you need to do in Lightroom is reimport, starting 1 level up from the new files and Lightroom will find the new files that need loading (ignoring the older ones already in the Library at that or lower levels) then 1 click and its done.
Your comments about getting others to follow a set file structure is very pertinant and also applies to evrything else that one ever does apart from just photo work; the times I have had to help others find info/files etc on their PC's because they don' know the location of anything is too many to contemplate.

Photoshop Elements 11 organizer stops working after about 15 minutes with windows 7??
I've uninstalled and reinstalled, changed preferences, removed preferences, added administrator priviledges with full control to several screens, turned over my screen to Dipanjan, Adobe Rep and still does exactly the same thing. Very frustrating! Anyone else getting this windows pop up screen " Photoshop Elements 11 organizer has stopped working" ?
If I don't resolve this soon, I'm going back to PSE 10 and I guess I'll just have to eat the money wasted on it.
Finally resolution!
Three separate days totaling about 8-10 hours of chat then another 3 or more hours in chat about this issue today with 3 different people. Finally got to Vijay, who said to:
click on edit in the organizer,
go to preferences,
click on media anaylsis,
uncheck all the boxes.
That did it!!! Less than two minutes, done! No more problems. I can't imagine how much of Adobe's and my time and productivity was wasted going through all the laborious steps, often times repeating the same procedures when I got some one new, only to start all over again.

I sincerely hope if anyone else suffers this dilemma, this will instantly resolve it for you and avoid the extreme frustration and agony I went through.

If there is something wrong with the catalog, we can try to repair it, but the fact is there are many possible causes to such behavior and we have to start somewhere. Is everyone here getting a blue screen from the OS? If so, there are much greater problems at hand than it is possible for an application on your computer to cause. Blue Screen errors are caused by hardware issues. Sometimes it is physically faulty parts, but most of the time it is some sort of driver conflict (generally just an old version that needs to be updated). Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for major hardware components, such as your video card. DO NOT rely on your OS to get the current versions of the drivers. Go to the manufacturer's website and download them directly.
