Elements 11 Organizer -- photos below sight on screen

I have adobe photoshop elements 11 running on my iMac.
My problem: when viewing the grid in my organizer albums, I can't see the bottom rows of photos-- I can see a slim line of the top of each photo but not the entire photo.
I've used the minimizer/maximizer green button in the left top corner-- not much changes between those views.
I've moved my dock to the left of my screen instead of at the bottom.
I've quit and restarted the application.
Still can't see those bottom rows of pictures.
Please help and THANK YOU. I appreciate your expertise.

Hello Andaleeb:
Here is the screen shot you requested. (a summary of issue: when viewing the grid in my organizer albums, I can't see the bottom rows of photos-- I can see a slim line of the top of each photo but not the entire photo. I've used the minimizer/maximizer green button in the left top corner-- not much changes between those views. I've moved my dock to the left of my screen instead of at the bottom. I've quit and restarted the application. Still can't see those bottom rows of pictures.)
SO, As you can see, I can't fully access the photos in the rows at the bottom of the screen.
The slide bar disappears from sight when I scroll down to try to see to the bottom of the screeen, and only a portion of the bottom row/rows is visible.
I've tried to reset my display resolutions in system preferences, but so far that hasn't helped.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you, diane

• Still Unresolved-please help: Organizer Grid Photos below sight on screen

Thank you to those who tried to help a few days ago when I first posted this. Nothing has worked though, so I’m hoping to find a way to fix this.
Screen Shot below is from my iMac on whichI have Adobe Photoshop Elements 11.
When viewing the grid in my Organizer albums, I can't see or access:
* the bottom rowS of photos-- I can see a slim line of the top of each photo but not a complete photo of any on the bottom rowS
* the slide bar
* the bottom right corner of the Adobe Organizer screen.
The slide bar disappears from sight when I scroll down to try to see to the bottom of the screeen, and only a portion of those bottom row/rows is visible.
I've used the minimizer/maximizer green button in the left top corner— almost nothing changes when I use that button.
I've moved my dock to the left of my screen instead of at the bottom. Still can't see those pictures or the bottom right corner of the Adobe Organizer screen.
I've quit and restarted the application.
It was recommended that I:
(first I quit Adobe) go to the system preferences and set the screen resolution to the lowest possible number, which for me is 1344x756. This enlarged the font and display of the Adobe and everything else.
then I opened Adobe again.
I was then told to revert back, in my system settings, to the regular display setting. The Adobe Organizer grid display was supposed to snap back to the proper view, but nothing changed. The lower right corner is still out of view.
Please help! THis is driving me nuts.
Thank you so much,
diane

According to Apple website you need to do this:
You can activate this option in System Settings -> General -> and under “Show scroll bars” choose “Always”.
See this link:

I don't use Apple MACs so I can't help you further.

This looks like it would be the perfect answer to my problem, except that the file mentioned - status.dat - does not exist anywhere on my computer.
In the meantime, my husband appears to have found a way to make iPhoto call up Elements Editor to edit photos. So I'm going to go that route.
I may even be able to free up some hard drive space by not having to maintain two complete photo libraries - one in iPhoto and another in Organizer.

• How can I import photos from iPhoto '09 to Elements Organizer 10 while keeping the tags attached?

I have spent a ridiculously long time tagging photos in my iPhotos but I would now like to transfer all my photos to Elements Organizer and preserve all the work I had done.
From Adobe's help website (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/elementsorganizer/using/WS73c05ee9864270ea-417df45c129593bfa05 -8000.html) it says I can import the tags along with the photos but does not explain how:
"Elements Organizer 10 supports importing photos, along with their associated captions, tags, and ratings, from iPhoto. You also have the option to import information such as events and albums to maintain the organization of your library"
When I follow the steps outlined on the website my photos are imported but there are no tags attached to them. I am particularly interested in keeping my facial tags but I suppose it would be useful to know how to keep other keyword tags and ratings as well.
There was a previous question put out on the forums similar to this but it was unresolved and the person decided to just leave everything in iPhoto. I really would prefer to transfer all my photos to Elements Organizer. I don't like the way iPhoto organizes photos but I had to deal with it for several years before I bought Elements Photoshop with built-in Organizer.
Please Please help!
Many thanks
D.M.

You don't import one library to another. Just copy the library from the iBook to the Pictures folder on shout new MacBook Pro. If you have another library already on the MBP rename it so you don't overwrite it with the old library.
Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the newly copied library and let iPhoto convert it to the new version.
Do you have photos in the library on the new MacBook Pro that you want to combine with the older library?

• How to export photos from Elements Organizer on Mac?

I saw someone asked the same question and it seemed not to be possible with the Mac version. Surely this can't be possible as this must be one of the single most important functions in an Archving system.

rugfoot wrote:
The problem is I can't move them to a new folder. If I could I wouldn't have the export problem. I just dragging and dropping but it doesn't work. I have made a selection (15) of photos in Elements Organizer but I can't identify which ones they are (from 300) in the Mac Finder app (= Windows Explorer).
Sorry, I can't test that on a Mac, but I thought that 'Windows only' features would be stated on the Adobe pdf help file, and moving file is not mentionned as Windows only, whereas 'export' is clearly stated as Windows only.

The stack sub menu does not enable for stacked photos in elements organizer 13 on windows 8.1.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I stacked some photos, now I cannot expand them or unstack them in the organizer.
This is for both auto and manual stacking.

Please press Ctrl+D to move to the older grid and now the stack option should be enabled.

• Best way to collect photos from family members for use in Photoshop Elements Organizer 13?

I am a long time Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements user. My biggest problem in producing my annual Christmas video has been collecting photos and videos from remote family members. Most are exclusively taking photos and videos on their smartphones (but I'll take wheat I can get).
What toolset or service will offer my family members the easiest way for them to securely share those assets with me so that I can ingest them into Element Organizer 13?
I've been told that Adobe now has apps for smartphones to aid in this process, but I have yet to track that down.
I've recommended my family members use dropbox or other comparable services, but it seems to perplex them. More often than not, I wind up receiving them as attachment via email or not at all. I'd LOVE to improve their ease of use and am will to pay to deliver an easy and pleasant experience for them.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

What about Google Drive? And just share the folder with the family members.

I downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements. I then launched Photoshop Elements Organizer and imported approx. 28,000 photos (including some videos). A window opened indicating that many of the photos had tags, and asking if I wanted to add the tags. I said yes, and the process began. When it reached 60% a window opened indicating that "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working", with the only option being to "Close program."
I've since tried to open organizer several times, but it goes immediately to "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working". I was able to open Editor, and tried opening Organizer from Editor, but encountered the same problem.
FYI, I have an open case (#0214505556), but have not received the help I need.

This issue is with respect to Elements 13.

• Is Elements Organizer 9 robust (powerful) enough to organize 10,000 photos without crashing?

I'm scanning literally thousands of photos from my 40 years as a photographer. I'm currently using Elements Organizer 9 to keep them organized using keytags and dates. I want to know if I can trust this basket to hold ALL my "eggs". I'm afraid I may get a "corrupt catalog" error message and all my work will be null and void. I would love to switch to using Adobe Bridge but it's out of my price range right now as I'm home on disabnility with a torn shoulder.
Does anyone know of Elements Organizer can handle 10,000 plus photos without crashing?

I have been using PSE6, PSE10, PSE11 and PSE12 with catalogs containing 50 000 items. There has been posts about users with more than 100 000 items. The organizer offers a good backup scheme.

A 'corrupt' catalog is something very rare, but you'll see many posts about catalogs containing 'corrupt' media files (mainly videos). The risk is minimal if you regularly use the built-in tools to repair and optimize the catalog and do regular backups.
One of the main concerns about losing one's organization is about keywords, captions, tags and notes. The organizer lets you save those data to the files themselves, so that they are accessible to any other editing software.
A PSE9 catalog can be read and converted to more recent Elements versions, as well as by Lightroom. I would advise upgrading to PSE12 when you can, but PSE9 is still a valid option.

• Photoshop Elements Organizer quit unexpectly when accessing photos.

Why does photoshop elements organizer quit when accessing photos?

Try selecting the thumbnails (Shift+Click) or (Ctrl+A) to select all, then click on the top menu
Edit >Update Thumbnail For Selected Items
If that doesn’t work close Elements and delete the thumbnail cache which sometime becomes corrupted. Navigate to:
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\<Catalog name>
Inside the MyCatalog folder (or whatever name you gave your catalog) you should find a CACHE file:
thumb.5.cache
After deleting that file restart the elements Organizer and wait whilst it regenerates thumbnails.

• How do elements organizer and adobe photoshop elements relate? Unclear how/where to save edited photos

I don't understand how elements organizer and adobe photoshop elements relate - how/where do I save edited photos? I tried to save them on my hard drive and the result was a 65 MB file!!! Not sure what I'm doing wrong :/ - maybe I'm saving the entire folder every time instead of just an individual photo?

There is no standard field for faces. To transfer information you must put it in the standard place that the new program will use. That does not exist for faces. One work around would be to use keywords. You include the available metadata in a photo by checking all if the boxes when you export the photo(s). What the receiving program is determined by the authors of that program. All iPhoto can do is write what it offers to the IPTC & EXIF fields which it will

• PS Elements/Organizer 11 sync with iCloud Photo Share

i have Photoshop Elements 11 suite on a PC win8. I wanted help in setting up my organizer so everytime I download pictures from my camera/card reader into organizer library, it would sync with icloud photo share. This is a functionality that iPhoto has that I just transitioned from. Since my wife and I take pictures on our iPhones, iPads and other cameras with SD card, the latter photos don't get to be part of the latest taken (not shown on icloud photo share) and we miss out on them when viewing the latest consolidate photos we take. I think I understand the watch folder in Organizer which I set to photo share folder of the icloud app's picture designated folder, but don't know how to set up the upload from organizer to icloud. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a great question. I've been using Photoshop Elements/Organizer (and PS Album before that) for many years and now more recently iCloud. I also am interested in consolidating these collections. I don't think there is any way yet to easily synchronize these, but with iCloud Beta you can easily upload photos in a PSE catalog into iCloud by simply selecting and dragging (I find it necessary to first drag/copy them into a temp folder on my desktop, and then upload them into iCloud using the iCloud Beta upload button). After this full resolution photos will appear in iCloud and on your iPhone and other devices. One problem I've discovered though with turns out to be a real headache, is the dates. The date the photo was taken is not read properly by the iPhone Photo app and so the photo will appear to have an incorrect date. I don't know why this is happening, but it seems to be a problem with how iCloud Beta is importing the JPG file. I wish Apple would solve this. If anyone else has found this problem and a solution, I'd like to know. Anyway, I hope this answer helps.
