Elements 11 printing problem

In Elements 10 I used to be able to use say 4 sheets of paper to print a larger picture but Elements 11 does not seem to allow me to do this function. Can you please help.

Hi,
There is no major change in the print feature in PSE 11 in comparison to PSE 10.
Are you getting any error message while taking the print out ?
Also, was there any printing option in PSE 10 which you are not getting on PSE 11 ?

  • Are there any updates to Elements 13 printer problems

I am having printer problems to my wide format Epson with Elements 13. I saw in the community forums that other people are having the same problem with other printers.

    Hi ..
Not for a Mac running Tiger v10.4.11.

  • Elements 9 printing problems with epson 3880

    HI All:
Elements was working fine with epson 3880.
    Problems developed:
    1. Would print color pics in black and white only while in Editor; color pics printed ok in Organizer
    2. Now Print Preview does not work in either Editor or Organizer
    3. Now cannot print in either Editor or Organizer
I purchased Elements online.  I do not have a CD for reinstall.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I am having a similar problem that seems the reverse of yours in a way, though it may be related. Mine occurred only with the disk-installed version, not the downloaded trial version, and it was present from the start on my iMac. Everything worked fine with the 3880 and 2400 printing from the trial version of PSE9 (downloaded), just as it had with PSE8. CS5 and Apple Aperture are also installed and had been working normally. Then I received the install disk for PSE9 and installed it. After that, Preview did not produce a preview, PDF did not produce a PDF, and Print did not produce a print. CS5 also would not preview or print after that. Aperture, however, was unaffected. Some experimentation revealed that the problem occurred only with "Photoshop Elements Manages Color" selected and printer color management turned off. With "Printer Manages Color" selected, it printed.
I uninstalled both CS5 and PSE9 and reinstalled 8, which once again worked properly. Hoping there had been an install error as the cause of the problem with the original installation of 9, I then uninstalled 8 and reinstalled 9, and the problem recurred. So it's back to PSE8, and try to figure out how to call the problem to Adobe's attention without paying for a tech support session. Interesting that a glitch that causes a problem with PSE's printing can also affect PS's printing.
I suspect your problem is related to mine. Do you use a Mac? I think the reason the problem didn't occur at first with my system is that the trial installation is not the same as the paid one, if only because the trial version doesn't have the user sign up with Photoshop.com or whatever it is, which I had never done until I installed 9 from the disk. So it seems that something in the full, purchased version is causing the glitch. I have no idea why your version should have worked at first, then crumped.
Two more things I'm going to do now: reinstall CS5 on the iMac (should be OK, as it was before I got 9), and install 9 on my laptop to see what happens.
My advice for now is to download the trial version of 9, uninstall the current installation of 9, install the downloaded trial version, and (without entering the serial # from your downloaded version) see if it works properly. Then contact tech support. Especially if you have a Mac, tell them you have heard from others who have related the same problem to you.

  • Photoshop elements 9 Print Problems

I recently installed photoshop elements 9 and I can't get photos to print to my HP Officejet 6210 all in one printer.  It just spits out a blank page.
I have 2 printers installed on my PC (windows Vista).  Photos print fine on my HP Photosmart Plus B210a printer. I have updated drivers and downloaded
lastest updates.  I should be able to switch between the 2 printers ( I should think).   Has anyone experienced this problem?

I am having a problem with Elements 9. I have a wireless printer
, When I choos "print" I get a message that says it can't print until I
install a printer, argh! The printer is my d
efault printer. I can not get to print setup page to even selesct it. Do I have to do something in E
    l. 9 to "pre setup" a printer???

  • Photoshop Elements 11 printing problem

Photoshop Elements 11 will not print in Edit mode, but will print in Organize mode.  Any suggestions?

Can you print from any other applications like Word or Excel?

  • Elements 9 printing problem HELP !

After opening Nikon RAW file, doing all I want to do with it, then File/Print - it randomly tells me I need to install a printer (yes it is installed and yes it works perfectly sometimes) - sometime it works fine but sometimes it doesn't but when it doesn't I have to kill the Editor process in Task manager and restart the PC to make it work again. This use to work fine with 8 and it's driving me up the wall!
I'm currently trying to deal with and print a friend's wedding photos and at this rate I will still be here at Christmas!

You may wish to start by be making sure you have the latest version of your printer's driver installed on your computer.
The other thing you may wish to try is resetting PSE's preferences by:
       1. Close Elements.
       2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click on Edit.
       3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Sometimes the settings file gets corrupted and resetting may help.

  • Elements 12 printer problem

Just purchased Canon MG7150 printer. Cannot print from Elements 12. Canon inform me that Adobe do not support this printer.
Is there a plug in?? or way round.
Bought this printer specifically to print photo's.

    Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
    Calibrate the monitor

  • Photoshop elements 11 printer problems

I have photoshop elements 11 and it can not find my printer Canon MG 8120.

Hi,  I actually asked wrong question.   It prints fine... but Adobe Elements 11 can not find it for scanning.   I heard there is a plug in needed?    Right now I can only scan from Canon Navigator.   Which kind of sucks compared with just opening elements and scanning.   It only has two options...Import frame from video, or WIA support.    I believe it should also have Twain?
    Thanks for help

  • Printing problems using Photoshop Elements 6

I have been using Photoshop Elements 6 for several years and am currently having printing problems, e.g., some prints are too light, some are too saturated, or too dark...they just don't look like the screen which looks pretty good.  I use Spyder 3 Pro to calibrate my monitor.  Does anyone know of any websites that address these type of problems.  Looking for some advice, tips, etc.
    Thanks.

Does this happen only in PSE6 or in other programs that can print graphics, like Acrobat or Word or PowerPoint?
I only ask because my LexMark started to vary color saturation shortly before the print head dumped an entire cartridge onto one page and it gave up the ghost.
It wasn't just pictures. Word documents would go from light to dark. Graphics (business cards, labels) would print bright and then dim on the same page.

  • Upgrade from Elements 7 to Elements 11 poses printing problems

I upgraded from Elements 7 to Elements 11 and now when I print a photo using Elements 11 it is extremely dark (almost black).  I am using an Epson R1900 Photo printer and the same settings for printing in both Elements 7 and 11 and can't figure out why the pictures are too dark in Elements 11.  Can anyone help with this?

    Thanks for the ideas:
Yes, printing in the OS Print program (Windows 8) does produce better
photos than directly through Elements 11.  Also, printing from the Elements
Organizer produces the better photos I am looking for and can obtain from the
Editor in Elements 7.  I still wonder why the Elements 11 Editor produces
almost black pictures?  But at least I have some alternatives for printing
better photos after I have used the Editor and saved the corrected photo.

  • My "fix" to print problems in LR (using MS XP)

Having had the same problems printing from LR as many others are complaining about, I thought that I might give my 2 cents to what I did to solve (?) the problem. I have to run with current setting in a while to be convinced that it is not just an intermittent fix though ;-)
My problem when printing from LR was that the print came out much too Cyan-Green and somewhat dark when color management where handled by LR. When the same photo was exported to PS Elements (PSE) in Tiff with the Pro-photo color profile embedded, adjustments from LR, and printed using the same driver setting and color management, the print came out fine.
I must mention that I have had fine printout in previous LR versions but I'm not sure when the problem started. But at least from LR version 1.3, 1.3.1 I have had problems printing a proper print.
As I'm not 100% sure what caused the fix, I don't want to leave much info un-documented, so I start by describing my system etc.:
    - Athlon 64 3500+ with 2 GB RAM
    - Lacie 119 LCD monitor (calibrated with a ColorVision Spyder 2)
    - Epson Stylus Photo 890 printer; an old (6-7 years) 6 color dye-sub printer, but it can still produce very good prints. (It is BTW, the A4 printer version of Epson 1290).
    - Microsoft XP service pack 2
    - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3.1.
    - Adobe Photoshop Elements 5
    - Latest Epson 890 printer drivers ver. 5.21/P (from 2004)
    - ICC profiles for various Epson printer paper
    - Paper used: Ilford Printasia Photo Glossy Paper (but I have tried Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper as well with same results)
    I used following setting:
    - In printer driver: "No color management" was selected
    - LR and PSE color management; printer profile: Epson Stylus Photo 890 Premium Glossy Photo Paper, Rendering Intent: Perceptual
    . LR Print sharpening: High
    - LR Print resolution: 360ppi
When the photo was opened in PSE and I had printed a small print with above mentioned printer driver/color management settings. The print looked good, but with a little magenta color cast, so I thought that if I used a different printer profile this might help (I have no ICC profile for the Ilford paper). So I chose the "Epson Stylus Photo 890 Photo Paper" instead and printed again, and this time the photo looked as it did on my calibrated monitor. I have to admit I was a bit delighted even though it was from printed from PSE and not from LR, but seeing that color management worked in other applications was a relief.
In PSE, I also I tried changing to a different Rendering Intent before changing printer profile, but with no success.
Another thing that helped further was to change Media Type in printer driver from "Premium Glossy Photo Paper" to "Photo Paper".
After the print success in PSE I went back to LR and changed the Printer Profile to "Epson Stylus Photo 890 Photo Paper" (still with "No color management" and "Photo Paper" selected in printer driver) and printed the photo again. Now the photo looked as good as it did in PSE (!!!???).
Now I have made a few printer preset in LR for various print sizes, and the prints look fantastic. Every time! Do I have to mention that I am a happy guy ? :-)
BTW, remember that a printer preset also saves the printer driver settings. Forgetting this can easily cause some unexpected results.
The only thing is that, I still do not know what fixed the problem, and I am a bit worried that the problem might come back again. Maybe the print related changes made in PSE and the following selection of the same settings in LR did - somehow - "synchronize" LR to a proper color management. Sounds weird, but if it works...
I hope this long explanation was useful to - at least - some of you, who experience printer problems in LR. LR is a fantastic application, and I enjoy using it, but the printer problems has really been frustrating.
    Good luck!
    /Per

Little unclear about the border thing- you say it prints with a too wide border, but also say:
When I print the image with this set up, it still is printed without a border.
It's a factor of your printer, though; some can never print without a margin around all sides; this can be a border, or cut off. Good news, though; you can have a 5 x 7 borderless, or with any size border you wish if you print on larger paper, and trim to taste.

  • Printing problem linked to EXIF time data for JPEG images.

For some years I have been using Photoshop Elements 8.0 with no problems of any kind. My computer runs on XP Professional with a system comfortably in excess of the minimum requirements to run Elements 8.0. I load my images into Elements from a card reader which is the same one since I got this version of Elements. I shoot mostly in JPEG with a Nikon D300. I print to one of 2 Epson printers, an SX100 and a PX700W. I don't use the wireless feature of the PX700W, connecting it via USB.
About a year ago I suddenly began to experience printing problems. If I tried to print an image Elements crashed just at the point where printing would begin. By trial & error I discovered that if I adjusted the time in the EXIF data of the image in Elements, whether by advancing or retarding it by hours or days and then adjusted it back to the original time I had no problems printing that image thereafter.
I also discoveredc that where I had shot in RAW I could print direct from the RAW image in Elements or from the JPEG I saved from an edited in RAW and had no problems.
I saw the forum discussions about the issues about the date/time in EXIF having been changed following the import into Elements. For those images I still had on my memory cards I checked the EXIF data in Elements and compared it what was on the image on the card. They were the same. I also checked the time zone and time settings of the camera and they were correct.
I backed up my catalog, re-formatted the computer to bring it back to its ex-factoy status, re-installed Elements and restored my catalog. I imported new images, tried to print them and the problem was still there.
Before I might upgrade to Photoshop Elements 10 I'm hoping someone else may tell me they have had the same problem and, hopefully, be able to tell me how they fixed it. I know the workaround will bypass the problem but it really annoys me that it suddenly appeared and I seem to be stuck with it. I'm also concerned that, given I totally re-formatted my computer but the problem  is still with me, that the problem may be imbedded in my catalog and simply gets backed up to,\and restored from,  my backup.
I'd be grateful for any ideas.

    Hi Miceal,
Though I'm not sure, but see if Catalog repair and optimize helps resolve the issue.
For doing this, click File >> Catalog and selec your catalog and then click "repair' button.
Tick the checkbox for rebuilding indices in the repair workflow.
Now perform the optimize operation on the catalog similarly.
Let me know if that helps.
    Thanks

  • Adobe photoshop elements 10 - printer install

Just downloaded free trial of Photoshop elements 10. When going to print it is asking me to install a printer. My printer is a Xerox Phaser. I have managed to print a couple of times from editing side of elements, so my printer is obviously installed, but now just keeps saying that I need to install a printer.  Having looked on this forum it seems that this is a common problem with elements but no advice that is given on this seems to sort out the problem. I have previously had Adobe photoshop CS6 on the computer and had no problem whatsoever with printing. Help please

The only other suggestion is to check the print drivers. PSE10 will rely upon the latest printer drivers being installed. Some manufactures have web sites which enable you to run a scan to ensure you have the latest drivers. Apart from that I’m out of ideas, except to use the dedicated printer, or uninstall and re-install Photoshop Elements or print single images from the Editor. I can understand the frustrations because others have experienced similar problems where the printer works perfectly with all other application except Photoshop Elements.

  • Photoshop elements 5 printing photos

When printing in Adobe photoshop elements 5 with windows xp, SOME of the photos show horizontal blaack lines in various locations. If these lines appear in the print preview final screen, they print on the photo. I have spent 4 hours online with HP to determine it is NOT a printer problem.
Some photos print well and others show the lines. ANy advice?

Having a nearly identical problem here. Just bought a new computer, which upgraded me from XP to Win 7, and at the same time I upgraded to Photoshop Elements 9. I restored my Photoshop Elements backup, but found a majority of my photos had become disconnected due to a change in the folder hierarchy from XP to Win 7. Many of my photos when I was using XP were in C:\documents and settings\..., but in Windows 7 there is no documents and settings folder under C:, and Windows won't even let me create a folder with that name so as to move the photos back into it. So now all my photos are in C:\Users\My Pictures\... and PSE can't seem to find them. I have to browse on each one to manually reconnect it. Very tedious and no way that is going to work for nearly 10,000 photos in my catalog. What's worse, the program freezes after I perform a half-dozen or so reconnects. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, and also the suggestion on the Adobe tech note (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/400/kb400848.html) and neither seems to abate the freezing issue. I've also tried both restore options (restore to same location and restore to new location/preserve folder layout) and the folder hierarchy is still messed up either way. Any suggestions?
