Elements 11 slow responding

Lately, the commands in Editor have been slow responding; today in Perfect Portrait, the Add Blur command wouldn't work at all. Any suggestions?

First go to the editor's preferences>general and click this button and restart the editor:

We really cannot know. So far you haven't told us anything about your system nor is there any feasible way to diagnose what this "missing file" could be, no matter what. That is, short of elaborate tracking and observation using specialised system diagnosis tools. The welcome screens can be brough back via the Help menu, but well, this might bring back the problems as well. Anyway, this is most likely nothing that a forum can help you with. If you know a computer geek, give him a call. Otherwise I don't see what we could do for you.

HI ALLdoes anybody notice slow responding when u come to delete mesg or contact or ven to add name or just generally to do any transaction in N900or its just my device thx

    Hello,
You should always keep up to date with Firefox:
    https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox/
Update by going to Help > About Firefox, or downloading a new copy at:
    * https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
    * (all localizations) https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
After updating, if the issue comes up again, you can either disable OMTC in the Firefox configuration, or disable Hardware Acceleration. You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    '''Disabling OMTC:'''
    # In the Location bar, type '''about:config''' and press '''Enter'''. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    # Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
    # Search for '''layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled''', and double click on the row or right click and select '''Toggle''' so that the Value reads '''False'''
    '''Disabling Hardware Acceleration:'''
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
    # Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options''
    # In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
    # In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
    # Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

  • Elements 11 stops responding when using lasso tool

After creating layers of picture, I go to use the lasso tool and begin to draw around part I want.  The Elements 11 stops responding and I start over.  Any thoughts.  Thanks.  Bill

Try resetting the PSE preferences by
       1. Close Elements.
       2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Edit.
       3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
    OR
GO to Edit->Preferences and you will see Reset Preferences on next launch
Click this button to ensure that all product preferences are reset to default settings when Elements Editor is restarted next. Available at Preferences > General.
    OR
Try with normal JPEG image also.

  • Slow respond and lag while playing game

Slow respond and lag while playing game, some time will also auto drop out to main menu page, the worse case will hang up. Compare to iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G(using the same version SW and playing the same game), my iPhone 3G will only having these problem, it is surprising why iPhone 2G speed is more faster and smoothly than iPhone 3G? Did apple can release new update version SW to solve this issue, or apple can adding selection in Setting application to allow user to turn off all un-applicable application to speed up iPhone 3G? Thanks and looking for respond!

I know I am not addressing Apple here, I would like to do so, but I don't know how to reach them. I just want to share my experiance and would like to know did this is because of my 3G iPhone problem, or all 3G iPhone will having the same phenomena like me? I had try to reset the phone, but it is not work. But I found a way to increasing the speed, it is switch to Airplane Mode. But if switch iPhone to Airplane Mode then only able to speeding up, then the iPhone will became an Ipod Touch and not anymore an iPhone again.

  • Premiere Elements 11 slow then not responding on Mac

I have an iMac that I've used PE 11 successfully for a couple years.  Suddenly it's come to a grinding halt.  When I try to edit anything it slows to a crawl, then just stops working all together.
Here's what I've done so far:
Updated my Mac to OS X 10.10.2
    Cleared cached files
Made space on my hard drive
    Uninstalled, and reinstalled PE 11
    Other suggestions?
An interesting symptom I've noted as it goes down the tubes:
The windows such as Project Assets stay in the foreground if I use another program while waiting for it to think about doing what I asked it to, for example; play the clip that I'm trying to edit.  So as I'm looking at my mail, the PE dialog boxes will be in my way.

Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed

  • Elements 13 slows to a crawl when Organizer is running on IMAC

I am running on a 4GHz Retina IMAC with 32GB RAM and i constantly get the spinning BBOD overtime I try to edit or save pictures when  is Organizer is running in the background.  The BBOD eventually goes away but the delays are so long it impossible to edit photos.   This doesn't happen if I a use an older version of Bridge to select photos  instead of Organizer or when Organizer is not running.  I tried all the basics, reloaded the SW, deleted and replaced permissions.  This problem also existed on my other IMAC (2.8 GHZ I7) running Elements 12 and Elements 13.  I would give up on organizer and stay with Bridge except is so old that the version of camera raw it supports is not capable of showing previews with my current camera.  Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue as well. I can run PS with no issues--but Elements 13 runs slow and does not respond for long periods of time.

  • Elements terrible slow

I just downloaded Elements 11  is is just terrible for slow. It taked like a minute to scroll between lines of photos in the manager. I am continually getting program not responding messages, to the point it is impossible to do anything. My OS is windows 8 pro.

Launch the Organizer and go to:
    Edit >> Preferences >> Media-Analysis
The uncheck all the boxes and click OK.
That usually improves performance whilst browsing or editing. You can turn on the background processes again at any time.

  • Apple Aluminum Keyboard slow responding after reboot

I have Leopard installed on my external firewire drive, and 10.4.1 installed on my PowerBook. Whenever I boot from one to the other I get a very slow response from my new Apple Aluminum Keyboard and my USB trackball. I have the trackball connected to the keyboard's USB port and the keyboard is plugged directly into the PowerBook. When I boot into either system it takes a good five minutes before the keyboard and trackball respond. In the meantime I have to use the keyboard on the PowerBook and the trackpad to login, etc... I also have USB Overdrive installed on both systems, but this problem developed before I installed USB Overdrive in Leopard. Any clues?

Does this new keyboard pair fine with the other computer?
I can only think of two other things given the troubleshooting that has been done so far.
This may be an OS issue (Reinstall the Mac OS) or something in or around your setup is generating interference: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1365 (doubtful as you said you used another computer and it was fine in the same area).
If you have already contacted AppleCare and the replacement keyboard did not resolve the issue you might want to give them a call back to follow-up so they can investigate the issue further.

  • Why is running Elements 8 slower on Windows 7 than XP?

I am afraid this is query is a bit long, but I have tried to provide all the
    info I can ....
    THE PROBLEM
My old PC died, so I bought a new PC to improve my video processing speed, and also move off Windows XP.
    - I installed the same copy of Adobe Premiere Elements 8 on both PCs.
    - I applied no updates (on either machine) as the original versions works fine (on XP - why fix something that isn't broken)
    - I changed the preferences to stop background rendering (due to data volumes -
    same on old PC).
    - I then copied the project file (.prel) from the old PC to the new.
Having set up the new PC, I carried out a benchmark test in Premiere Elements 8.0 converting the same 4-hour long HD file from M2TS to MPG on both PCs.
It was 4 times slower on the new PC !!!!
I then tried out another video conversion program (to demux MPG files so that they can be edited in Premiere) and that was 30% faster on the new PC.
In the Premier test the original file was on a 6GB/s 3TB disk drive with the output file on a 6GB/s 2TB drive (which also has the Windows system and Adobe cache files).
    -  Both processes ran identically without errors.  In fact the output files were almost identical (one was 12 685 358 KB, the other 12 658 402 KB). I ran MediaInfo on both output files and it summarised them as identical in terms of codecs, size, etc, etc.
    - On the old PC, CPU utilisation is usually around 90%, on the new one it is closer to 50%.
    - Disk and memory utilisation are not limiting factors.
Can anyone help me finding out why the new PC is so much slower than the old?

    BACKGROUND
I have a very specific use of Premiere (for research purposes):
    - I have 2 HD video Sony XDR160E camcorders monitoring bird nests 13 hours per day.
    - Each camera generates 160 GB data per day on its internal HD.
    - File sizes range from 20 GB (smallest) to 160 GB.
    - I download the files from the camera to disk using the cameras download facility.
It is then that I use Premiere.
    - I open a project that has the exact specs of the camera's output.
    - I open the M2TS file in Premiere, drag it onto the sceneline.
    - I do not view the file but immediately share it using a preset that matches the requirements of my MVIX PVR.
This bit is not relevant to the problem per se, but provides background info:
    - I then copy the file onto the PVR decoder.
    - I view the file through an MVIX PVR which allows viewing at 32x speed with minimal data loss.
    - I will then identify activity periods (which may be only 5 minutes per day).
    - I use the camera's editor to extract the relevant clips keeping all the camera metadata intact.
    - After that I may use Premiere again to create illustrative montages.
    CONCLUSION
Does anyone have a clue as to why I am having this problem? (it is not an error per se)
    - The obvious differences are the operating system, the graphics card and the disk allocation unit size
    - It may well NOT be a Premiere issue, it may be Windows 7 Pro that is causing the problem.
    - I assume that the graphics card is irrelevant as I never actually view the video in Premiere (in this scenario)
    - Could it be that Adobe cannot handle the 64k disk allocation size?
    - Is there some special setting in Windows 7 that I need to enable that wasn't required in Windows XP?
    - Is there some special setting in Adobe that I need to enable when running in a 64-bit environment?
Or is there something else I am missing?
Any help would be really appreciated - it could take weeks to try out all the various combinations to identify the problem.
    Giles

    Steve
Thanx for your insights.  I do not have the disks partitioned (except the system disk, I always like to keep the system files separated from the 'user' files to make backups simpler).
I suspect you are right that upgrading to 11 would speed things up, but I still suspect there is something more fundamentally wrong in my Windows 7 set-up - my guess is that upgrading to 11 might double the speed of processing - but that would still leave it 50% slower than on the old machine.
My first step will be to run all the patches on 8 - but not for a few days. We are expecting 3 or 4 days of thunderstorms (normal for this time of year in South Africa) and my UPS hasn't the battery life to keep going during an upgrade cycle.

  • Adobe premiere elements 11 not responding.

Adobe premiere elements 11 says, "not responding" and asks me if I want to close the program. I have done this multiple times and nothing has worked. I am getting very frustrated and am not impressed by this program. What can I do to fix it?

    hunttofilmt
Here is what I was like you to look at and determine if this workflow behaves any differently than the one that you are using now. I am assuming that you are having similar problems with Go Pro Hero 3's 960p @ 48 progressive frames per second and with the Canon's 1080p @ 24 progressive frames per second.
Let us confine these initial tests to the Canon 1080p24, for now to avoid any complications of editing 960p48 in Premiere Elements.
    1. Open Premiere Elements 11 and go to File Menu/New/Project and set the project preset to
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p24
    or
    PAL
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p24
depending on whether you have a NTSC or PAL install for your Premiere Elements 11.
Before you exit the new project dialog, be sure to put a check mark next to Force Selected Project Settings on this Project.
    2. Import your 1080p24 into the project using Add Media/Files and Folder/Project Assets.
    3. In Project Assets, double click the file there to open the Preview Window and proceed to trim your video.
Here is a description of the process from my blog post. Please cross check what you are doing with the steps that I used in the blog post demo.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/06/pe11-project-assets-organization-for.html
If that is not successful, then stop and let us know.
If that is successful, then let us look at the 960p48...there is an atypical format for Premiere Elements. Here we are going to set the project preset manually as in the case with the Canon, but here we are going to use the project preset of:
    NTSC
    DV
    Standard
    or
    PAL
    DV
    Standard
depending on whether you have a NTSC or PAL install for your Premiere Elements 11.
Before you exit the new project dialog, be sure to have a check mark next to Force Selected Project Setting for this Project.
Then continue with the import and trimming of the video in the Preview Window as you did with the 1080p24 footage.
    Looking forward to your results.
    Thanks.
    ATR
Add On....By the way, how is your external hard drive formatted NTFS or FAT32? Depending on the results from the above mini tests, please look at importing/trimming one of your 1080p24 in the 1080p24 project but import the 1080p24 from a computer desktop save location instead of the external hard drive.
