Elements 11 Windows disc cannot be read

I received my full version of Photoshop Elements 11 yesterday & have tried several times to install it but it doesn't even register on my computer. I have tried other dvds & installation discs which all work fine, so it's not the drive. The computer I am trying to install it on is a PC running Windows 7 & I am defiantely using the Windows disc, not the Mac OS. So I am wondering what do I do now? How do I get phone support to get a replacement without being charged for an 'incident'?

I had this problem and worked out the problem was due to CDs that had been imported that contained copy-protection, all the CDs that caused this problem were published by BMG (but this could have been a coincidence!)
I fixed this doing the following:-
1) Quit iTunes
2) Run the iPod software updater and choose "Restore" (note , this will remove all songs from the Nano.
3) Unplug the Nano from the computer (so that iTunes doesn't start syncing again)
4) Open iTunes
5) Get ready to watch the library window, this is the window that shows what is being synced at the moment, ie. which song is being transferred to the Nano at that time (normally grayed out).
6) Connect iPod and watch the songs that are being synced
7) When iSync stalls (just before you get the "Disk cannot be read or written to" message make a note of the track that is being synced to the iPod
8) Delete that track AND the album that contained that track
9) Try syncing again.
If this works for you then you'll need to ditch those CDs (and the imported tracks) from your collection, I wont buy CDs with copy-protection now, but instead buy from itunes music store.

IPod disc "cannot be read from or written to" error

I have a 60gb color iPod which was just replaced by Apple due to an unrelated issue. The replacement iPod has trouble synching to my G5 tower via the USB cable. in iTunes, I get the error "Attempting to copy to the disk <iPod Name> Failed. The disc cannot be read from or written to." This occurs twice, once while iTunes tries copying music over, and then again when it tries copying photos over. Some of the songs incrementally copy over (maybe six or eight at a time), but I have thosuands of songs, so obviously this isn't practical. I have undertaken the steps described in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301267 with no success.
Meanwhile, in the system.log, I'm seeing error messages as follows:

The "data underrun" line appears in the log just as iTunes displays the previously mentioned error dialogue box - they appear connected.
I am running OS X 10.4.5, iTunes 6.0.3, and the iPod is running 1.2.1 of the firmware. I have taken my iPod into the local Apple store, and the iPod syncs just fine with the in-store systems, both over USB and firewire. I just have the USB cable at home.
Help with troubleshooting would be appreciated.

We have two new Video iPods in the family... when we try to update them, we get the message: The disc cannot be read from or written to. We also cannot delete/edit the songs on the iPod. When we check certain songs to put on one iPod, but not the other, EVERY song is added -even with "only update checked files".
Is there away to create two Libraries -one for each iPod- and fix the Updateing problem? please!

I checked on the iPod lounge forum and I just couldn't count the number of users that had the same problem. There are just so many!

It seems like there is no "fix" for this problem but I will say this: If there is no solution, then I will no longer be buying iPods. This is my third iPod that I have purchased. Which makes my Apple investment near the thousand dollar mark. That is way too much money spent to not have a functioning music player. I will be switching to another player to see if the grass is greener on the other side.
I have been most dissappointed with this error and I will not be "recycling" this iPod for ten percent off of my next iPod purchase.

Insertable disc cannot be read error message

Every time i reboot my iMac I get this red box that pops up that says,
"the insertable disc cannot be read...."
not exactly verbatim but close.
I don't have any CD/DVD's in the drive. The only things in the usb slots are the keyboard, printer and my external hard drive.
But the question is, why is the error coming up all of a sudden?

Use basic isolation to determine where this is coming from. Remove all the devices from the computer and add them back in 1 at a time, restarting between each addtion.

If it ends up being your printer, does your printer have a media card reader in the front for flash memory from cameras? Perhaps either the reader is damaged or there is a card inserted.

I have seen a couple of posts relating to this same problem. My nano will download a random number of songs and then i will get the "disc cannot be red from or written to" message. I've tried different computers, restoring, different cds, uninstalling and reinstalling, and ive checked all of the computer software. Now if I connect it to my computer, it just decides to restore itself. Now the battery just dies after 6 or 7 hours too. I sent a service request to Apple today. Has anyone been able to fix this? I know other people have had this problem, but no one has posted any sort of reply to it. I would take the keyed to death nano that works over this....I already lost all of my music, twice.

My Apple hard drive died; trying to reload my CS4 discs but the Application 1 disc cannot be read?

if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

Windows XP cannot open Reader

I have a problem that started about a month ago. Everytime I try to open a PDF in Adobe Reader (9 or 10) or if I just try to open up the reader alone, Windows XP SP3 gives me one of 2 error messages...
1. Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
2. The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.
So today I decided to repair the install. That did not fix the problem.
The next thing I decided to do was to uninstall Adobe reader 9 and do a fresh install o fthe latest version, 10.
As soon as installation completed I was able to open up one PDF file. After I closed it and tried opening up Adobe Reader 10 alone or anopther PDF (or even that same PDF), I got the same errors above.
So unistalling and reinstalling Reader did not fix the problem either. I still have the same exact problem as when I had reader 9 installed.
I tried searching Adobe support and forums for these errors and I cannot find anything at all, which I find rather odd. Even a google search turns up nothing for me.
Can someone please help me to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it?

Surely I am not the only one with this problem. Yet, I cannot find any other similar threads that have working solutions. I already tried repairing the install and then reinstalling. I also do not have Acrobat installed, just the reader.
I have also come across many other threads that are somewhat similar to mine and those threads never received any replies, which is very disappointing because I figured this is the best place to start for help on an adobe product. Please don't prove me wrong Adobe!

Can't sync iPod - Error Message: "disc cannot be read from or written to"

My ipod had been working fine until recently when every time I try and sync it I get the following error message:
"Attempting to copy to the disk "iPod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to"

Email messages show in the window but cannot be read. What do I need to do to correct this problem.

I have two PC's and one laptop. All three display the email message differently. The laptop is OK. One PC lists the email, but in selecting one to read, it appears to be opening, but the only result is looping back to selecting the message again.

Firefox doesn't do email, if you are viewing email thru Firefox you are using a web mail interface.

Cannot install windows, cannot start off Windows disc.

I don't know what the issue is, I thought that one cannot install off an external optical drive but I've read online people are doing this and getting results.
My internal SupaDupa is dead after two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan (not my laptop, not my tours) and I pulled it because I thought it was causing conflicts. However, I still have not been able to boot from the Windows disc after setting up a Windows partition from Utilities > Boot Camp Assistant.
Anyone have a shortcut for me here?

for clarification: the things available to me:
one (1) MacBook 13" 2Ghz Core 2 Duo / 1BG 667Mhz ram / 320GB HD split into 50GB for Win and the rest for OS X.
two (2) external CD Drives. One Targus DVD-ROM/CD-ROM USB (ADV01US) and the second a LaCie FireWire DVD+-RW Porsche drive.
one (1) Windows XP sp2 CD-ROM
one (1) external FireWire or USB HDD 80GB SATA just in case it's needed
bunch (a lot) of Flash drives in various capacities up to 16GB
the (one) Internet to get information

Yes, I have a few different versions of windows to try, and two are straight OEM discs.
When I let the Mac try to boot up automagically into setup, I get a rotation of the ? folder, the (/) prohibited sign and the Mac face.
When I hold down option it sometimes sees the Windows disc sometimes not, but choosing it (when I see it) gives me the same cycle of no-go. (See above)
When I try to use an alternate boot method such as rEFIt, I get the firmware errors which makes me think that the problem does not lie within the discs.
The MacBook is on 10.6.latest right now.

From the Lightroom Library click Edit >> Preferences >> External Editing

I cannot download the product Photoshop Elements 13 (Windows English) and Adobe Elements 13 (Windows English) bought yesterday and registered to my account because the only options provided are for upgrades from trial versions. It is of course impossible to speak by phone to my regional store in Ireland as they do not provide telephone support for my products so I am having a very circular and unsatisfactory customer service experience. Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
