Elements 11 without the Organiser on my Mac

Can I install Elements 11 on my Mac (OS 10.6.8) without the Organiser? I am very happy with iPhoto and don't want another organiser. I have bought the application but not installed it until I get an answer to this question.

You will have to install organizer, but you don't have to use it. You can either set PSE as your external editor for iphoto and send the photos from there, or export the photos from iphoto, use file>open in the editor and then save your edited photos with new names and import them to iphoto as new files.
Many people don't use organizer, whether they use another program like iphoto or not.

Personal Organiser - PC to Mac?

I have a Sharp ZQ-770 electronic organiser that I've been synchronizing with a PC to make sure my contacts are backed up. I have thousands because of work.
I've now bought a Mac and want to move everythig over to that.
Sharp say the organiser isn't Mac compatible so I cant move the contacts direct from that to the Mac.
One option is to find an organiser that is both PC and Mac compatible eg a Palm, so I can move stuff from the PC onto the Palm and then onto the Mac. Does that sound like it'll work? Are there any other ways of doing it?
I was hoping to find a mobile that was PC and Mac compatible - is there such a thing? In my searches it seems there aren't any Mac comptible phones except for Treo. Is that right?

However, when I try to open a raw photo in Photoshop Elements, I keep getting the message "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. I have tried reinstalling Camera Raw many times, and have tried to open many different raw files in Elements, and still get the same error message. Please help.

How did you try to install ACR 8.8. The only way I know of that works with Elements is to use the Updates Choice on the Help menu.
There are two charts supplied by Adobe that explain your RAW dilemma. In your case, the Nikon D810 needs Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 8.6 or Lightroom 5.6. (Congratulations on buying a new camera!)
To get to that level with Photoshop Elements, you will need to replace your Photoshop Elements 12 with version 13. Adobe caps ACR updates on version 12 at 8.5.
The most convenient way to get around it without spending any money is to use the FREE from Adobe DNG Converter. Download and install it from here for FREE: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5855&fileID=5890 Once it is installed you can convert your D810 raw files to an Adobe RAW version with the .DNG file extension that most, if not all, versions of the various Adobe software programs can use. That includes old versions of Photoshop, Elements and Lightroom. DNG converter can be used as the tool to move your files from your memory card to your computer, is efficient, will convert in batches and is completely lossless. There is no risk of any image quality degradation or RAW functionality.

How do I transfer all my iPhoto library to an external drive without losing the organising

My iMac's internal drive is almost full - mainly with 25,000 photos accumulated over the last 10 years. These are carefully sorted into Events, Smart Albums, etc., and given titles, ratings, etc.
As my iMac is becoming rather 'clunky' with little space left, I want to transfer most or all of my iPhoto library onto a newly purchased 1TB external hard drive to be used just for photos / movies.
I already have another external hard drive linked to Time Machine backing up everything on the iMac.
I followed Apple's support team's instruction to create iPhoto on the new external hard drive (My Passport) - and then drag and drop the existing iPhoto library onto it from the Master file.
It's successfully copied all 25,000 photos into the new iPhoto library on My Passport, but I'm dismayed to find that all the original events, titles, etc. are now all shuffled up and haphazard, with all titles, grading, etc. apparently gone.
Fortunately I haven't yet started to delete the photos on the original Iphoto library on my internal hard drive .................. but surely there's a way to 'back up' my iPhoto library without losing all the hard work I've put into the organising & editing ............isn't there ???

Don't know who told you that but it would be difficult to be more wrong.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

That doesn't help the user with the serial code though.
There has to be some kind of code somewhere within the package. The disk itself does not contain one. You can look here for help with finding your serial number:

I have recently installed Elements 12 on my computer. I have mislaid my disc for Elements 8 and an told that I cannot uninstall that programme without the disc. Is there an alternative way or can you supply any necessary software?

There is no need to uninstall Elements 8 if you have Elements 12 installed on your system. However, if
you still wish to uninstall Elements 8, you can do that from Program and Features in Windows and Applications
folder in case of a Mac. You do not require a disc to uninstall a program.

You don't. You need the installation disk. You can't buy the disk in an Apple store. You need to call AppleCare and order one. Have you serial number handy. To check your warranty status:

I would prefer to use an audio interface for playback and the apple tv as a third display. I know I can go back to system preferences and swap my output back manually, but it is getting to be really inconvienient. Thoughts?

I am now looking to use ipads as viewing stations instead of laptops my problem is is that i dont know how to link everything up without the internet. icloud would be the best way but alot of hotels that i go to you cant get signal so that makes me stuck.
I previously created a network using a roughter and eternet cables.

Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files? I just want to view / delete files without importing them.
For instance I have 1200 photos on my iPhone Camera Roll. Some of these are shots, that I've taken multiple times, some good, some bad. I just want to clean up my Camera Roll, but going through the pictures on the iPhone's small screen is tedious. I'd much rather look at the camera roll's photo's on my Mac, and then decide which files I'd like to keep, and which to delete.
I don't want to import the files, as when I import the files, and delete them from Camera Roll, now the Photo's are not on my phone, and the only way to get them back on my Phone is to Import them back in using iTunes, and then they go into the Picture Library and not the Camera Roll.
In the same way as I can view Pics from my digital camera's SD card on a Mac without having to actually copy them to my computer, is there any app out there that will let me view my iPhone pics without importing them.

The short answer is yes.
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
Open Image Capture application.
Click on the 4 little squares at bottom to view them as photos, not a list.
Select the photos them click the No Entry icon at bottom to delete.

So what I did was, I had bought my iMac from a shop and asked them to do bootcamp for me. However, they installed 32 bit instead of 64. My fault, I did not make my self clear about it. So after it has been delivered to my house, I realized that I wanted the 64 bit. I tried to remove windows on bootcamp but honestly, I have not experienced this before. So I failed. I believe, I did something wrong.
So I opened the iMac and it keeps asking me to go to windows. Windows OS also corrupted.
I tried the Option Key but the only option is Windows 7 only. So using a different keyboard, I press option and it only shows Windows HDD and the Mac HDD has gone.
What am I going to do? How can I restore Mac OS without the HDD anymore?
