Elements 12 could not complete your request
Hi... I have windows vista and just downloaded the trial version of elements 12. After installing it I have restarted my machine. When I open the raw file and do some mods to the photo and tried to open it with elements I get the error: Could not complete your request because of a program error... i have restored the elements 12 original settings but not much help.
The only way I have found to get around it is to save the file as dng, then open it with raw and then open the file with elements... a little painful to do it every time

Photoshop elements editor Could not complete your request because fo a program error
I am running PSE 8.0. On some of my photos I cannot save the image.
Even if I do no editing on the photo and just do a "save as" in a completely
different folder I get the error message Could not complete your request
because of a program error.
I have set the RAM preferences to 1100MB and the history states to 20.
What is the program error?
Looking at the discussion forum, this problem has been there since 2007.
Doesn't Adobe fix its software?
Joe MI would suggest you to reset the preferences file of photoshop elements and then try. Follow these steps
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences. -

What do i doWhich operating system are you running on?
Do you get this error when loading or using the organizer or the editor?
What are you trying to do when you get this error?
If you are using raw files, which camera (make and model) do you use to create the raw files?
If you can load the editor, which version of camera raw do you have loaded? - see Help -> about Plug-in -> Camera raw

im trying to add a water mark to multiple photos but I keep getting Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements cannot recognize the file extension. (-25600) error. how do I fix this?
If you open up editor then expert mode then you click file and the it's manage multiple or something like that. It will pull up a box asking you where you would like to get the photos from. I picked a folder where I just edited the skin tone and then saved it. I'm thinking it has something to do with the way the files save but I'm not sure how to get it to change. But after the box comes up you can add a water mark to all the photos in the folder. I found the video of how to do it on here.

I thought sure it was free with the computer, along with a whole package of other stuff. It was a sale/special. Everything else still works, except the Photoshop. I bought the Mac new at the Mac store in Marin County...
Maybe it came with the printer I bought too...? Who knows now.

I have IPhoto... that must be what came free with the Mac. But it doesn't work either. I get a message: need to upgrade, but then it says it is not responding...

Today while working on PS Elements 12 I was asked if I wanted to save my work. I said yes. After that I was unable to save my editing work on PSE 12. I use OS X Mavericks 10.9.3. Instead of saving my work I continue to get a "could not complete your request because of a program error. My work can't be saved. I tried downloading the Creative Cloud and tried both settings, save to the cloud and do not save to the cloud. Either way I cannot save my work and I am stuck. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Sorry, but I don't understand. PSE has nothing at all to do with creative cloud. If you're saying that you can't save work in any program, that's probably something wrong with your OS X installation. If you just are having a problem in PSE, the first thing to do is to go to the editor's preferences>general, click this button, and restart the editor:

I edit a photo and when I click Save As, I get error message "Could not complete your request because of a program error." I exit Elements, try again, same error.
In past I had this problem but it resolved when rebooted PC. This time, PC reboot does not help.
I cannot save anything i do in elements!!
What's wrong? Any suggestions how to fix this? Anyone know what the program error isPlease mention your PSE version and underlying OS.
Also, it would be of great help in resolving the issue if you can upload a snapshot of error message.

NEF "Could not complete your request because it is the wrong kind of document"
I have just installed Lightroom 12.1 with all current updates on W7 64bit and now cannot open the Nikon D5200 raw (NEF) files. I get the message: "Could not complete your request because it is the wrong kind of document" although they open successfully in Camera RAW on Vista 64bit PC with the same version of Elements. In order to work with them, I have had to convert to DNG and open in Photoshop CS5, which doesn't support D5200 RAW (NEF version).
This is causing me a serious problem because I need to migrate all of my work to the new W7 system.That was the exact wording of the message, and I tried many times with many NEF files; but I just went back to the PC after entering the Forum question and everything works fine. The NEF files open from both my D5000 and the D5200. The pc wasn’t re-booted in the mean time, so I really don’t understand why it works now and didn’t 15 min’s ago!
I’m sorry to have disturbed you – maybe I should just have gone to lunch and tried again later. – I am a computer specialist/consultant, by the way, so I do know what I’m talking about.

It can be that you have an old version of Photoshop Elements and a new camera.

I have Photoshop Elements 3 on an older desktop I use for editing photos. Yesterday, I tried to pull up a photo from my connected camera to the PE3 window and got the following error mesaage instead: "could not complete your request because the disk is full."
I have researched the Online help and Forum but can not seem to find a solution to this problem. I have gone through the Edit -> Preferences -> Memory & Image Cache, I have reset all the options there, increased the memory available to PE3 and, have uninstalled and re-installed the program without luck. I also deframented my unit but the issue persists. I now find that I also can not load photos that are already saved on my hard drive as well.
I am running a P4 system with 1GB of RAM, 52GB of free space, and XP Pro. The only changes made to this unit recently is the installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. I would greatly appreciate any insight I can get on this problem. Thanks.Are you able to get the files on to your hard drive using a card reader? You can the use the Organizer menu, File à Get Photos à from Files & Folders.
The only other suggestion I can make is to try closing other processes running in the background. You do that by launching the task manager (press Ctrl+Alt+Delete)
Go to the processes tab and then highlight individual programs and tasks and hit the end process button. Then launch Elements again. Also try temporarily disabling your internet security and see if that makes any difference.

I am in Elements & keep getting this error when attempting to print "could not complete your request because an error occurred while printing". I also get this error when I select page set up or more options. My printers work with all of my other programs. I am on Windows 8.1Wrong forum. We don't do Elements here.

I have gotten this error message a few times now. "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered."
My file many layers... a total of 100mgs+. But I work with this kind of file often, so... hmm. It won't open. Is it corrupted? Any way to restore? I can go back in time with our 'time machine program... but that brings me back to having a previous version and many hours of lost work.
I use a Mac OS x 10.5.8, Photoshop version 6 from the 2003 CS suite.

I have all my pictures in a Photoshop Elements Catalog
I open the catalog & choose the picture I want to edit in Photoshop Elements Editor
I choose Quick edit
I crop a picturem save it, and then want to edit it
I click Smart Edit and I get the error message "Could not complete your request because the active layer is empty". I only have the original layer, the only thing I did was crop & save it, so the error message makes no sense.
I have searched the discussion groups for an answer, but don't find it anywhere.
I am having other issues with the program as well, but I will post those as seperate issues.
I am trying to edit & preserve my family photos for my 90 year old mother, but at this point I am ready to find another program to do this.operating system?
I'd be inclined to restart your computer again.
