Elements 12 installation problems on macbook pro
I'm trying to install photoshop elements 12 on my macbook pro and it gets to about 1 minute left in the installation process, and then it kicks out the installation disc and says there was an error in installing. What do I do? I've tried the same thing a couple of times and I'm getting the same results?
First, go check manually for any files that did get installed. Check not only applications but the library at the top level of your hard drive. If you use antivirus software, disable it during the installation. Sometimes it helps to create a new admin user and log in there to install. Finally, you can also try downloading the trial and then just enter your serial number when asked.

Oracle Installation Problem on MacBook Pro with OS X
Im trying to install Oracle database 10g on my MacBook Pro with the latest OS version. At first I was a bit confused on which of the links I should download, so I downloaded the client release 1, it was a 300mb aprox download. When the download was over I couldnt run any of the files on my Mac, maybe its because they only run on Mac OS Server? maybe i got the wrong link?

Cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro
cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro. keep getting exit code 7 half way through installation and disc ejects. running OS X 10.7.2 (lion). have installed acrobat reader, flash player, tried safe start mode...nothing works...HELP!
Yes ..thats the log in Library/Logs/adobe/installers/
The log is called
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 10.0 12-01-2011.log.gz
it has more entries in that one log but they relate to earlier fails and are identical each time....
there is a photoshop log in there as well (I bought the bundle) but that installed succesfully.
It clearly falls over trying to install Sonicfire pro 5 for premiere elements but WHY is the question
I really dont know what else to suggest...curious that the original poster on this thread had the same error on install as me it seems on a macbook pro
I really would like this to be sorted obviously if possible as soon as possible given I paid for t and cant use it
any other thoughts?

Problem description:
(MacBook Pro 15” late 2008, OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 installed, no pending updates) computer is running very slow - takes 2-3 minutes to open apps such as Pages, even when no other apps are open. Randomly freezes and becomes unresponsive, requiring forced power down. Randomly logs off. Removed Kodak AIO software via Clean My Mac2, but BonjourAgent still there and requesting access. What is the problem on MacBook Pro retina 15"?
I just bought a new MacBook Pro retina 15". After unboxing, I turned it on and there was no any problem. But the second time I turned it on and charge battery, I got 2 problems, 1. The machine made noise loudly and 2. The charging is not working. What is the problem on MacBook Pro retina 15"? However, after about 1 hour, it works normally. Should I still use it or sell it before it has more issues?

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro. Why can't I see my scanner (Epson Perfection 3200 Photo) from the File>Import menu?
There was no driver update available (it said my driver was up to date), so I just deleted the scanner and restarted the computer. when it came up, the scanner had already been added again. With great anticipation I tried to import from Photoshop...but no luck (scanner was not visible). I finally ended up calling Epson (had great difficulty in locating a number for support) and they finally told me there is no driver update for OS X 10.10 and I should as a work around use "Image Capture" application. I tried it, and it works quite well.

Additional Info - after working on this problem for 4 hours, I shut my laptop in frustration and took a break. 1 hour later I opened my mac and the cursor had magically returned. No restart, no power on/off - nothing. Frustration. If anyone else has had this happen and has actually fixed the problem let me know. I'm sure it will reoccur.

Problems reformatting MacBook Pro recovery disk missing
Hacing problems reformatting MacBook pro. Tried startup with option key but recovery disk option missing. Then tried the Mac os x disc that came with the MacBook Pro however when I get to the selection of where I want to install no HD option appears. Start up disk also appears to be missing. Can only start Mac in safe mode.
Remind them at this time you don't desire a service account, just desire a disc. The only reason you would want an account is if you wanted them to help you with actual troubleshooting.

Complicated problem: Laggy Macbook Pro, now not booting
I am facing a very complicated issue with my unibody Early 2011 15" Macbook Pro (2.2 ghz core i7, 4gb 1333mhz ram, amd radeon 6750m, if you need hardware details).
I guess the issue started after my computer started to get laggy for no reason at all: it was never the GUI that lagged, but whenever I would perform some data-dependent tasks such as playing a video, or trying to open a big file. This lagging did coincide with some of my friends playing around with magnets around my computer (which may have possibly corrupted hard disk data).
After it got laggy, another major problem hit my MacBook, where I plugged in an old, broken USB into one of the ports by accident, and the computer suddenly shut it self off. The computer then seemed to have no power at all, with no response to pressing power button, or the battery indicator button. I feared the worst: that my logic board had been fried, so I immediately took my computer to the Apple Reseller. The technicians there said it was no problem at all, just that my motherboard had shut itself of in order to protect itself from a USB power shortage, and he unplugged and replugged this one small component on the logic board, which I am guessing is the Power Management Unit, and my computer miraculeously started booting.
So then, I get back home, and the laggy problem is still there. I just had to cope with the problem for a few days, until I go back to the Apple Reseller, but then suddenly, after a restart, the computer started not even booting. The grey apple icon would blink, and turn into a circle with a cross icon. Checked online, and this is apparently related to corrupted system files. This is where I began to suspect that the USB shut-off from few days ago, did more damage than the technicians thought: maybe related to the hard disk, or RAM.
But then again, it could have just been a coincidental corrupt hard disk from my actions, so I wiped/repartitioned my hard disk, and restored the OS and my files from a TIme Machine Backup. Again, the problem was still there, so I thought it might be to do with my backed up system files, so I did a fresh install of Lion.
The fresh install of Lion seemed to eliminate all lagging problems, but after I started copying my files and installing applications from Time Machine, the lagging problem gradually returned. So another question arose, was it a faulty hard disk, or a corrupt file or application that was making it laggy? To check if it was my hard disk, I did a zero-over erase of the entire disk with Disk Utility, and sure enough, the writing process failed in the middle.
After thinking I zeroed in on the problem, I replaced the hard disk in my Macbook Pro with another 750gb Toshiba SATA drive, and did a clean install of Lion. Once again, the laggy problem was gone, but just like the old hard disk, the laggy problem returned after I started copying files over and installing applications. Switching applications would take forever, and accessing folders on my hard disk would also be laggy. Playing videos was impossible, but the GUI (dock, spaces, etc) were all very responsive.
Now, I thought the problem is either with faulty RAM, or my hard disk reader is broken (since two hard disks, although the original one was faulty, both failed). I read online that the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) can help identify and pinpoint hardware problems, so I inserted the 2nd disk that came with my computer (Applications Install), and pressed D, but then nothing came up. After countless attempts, I maybe thought it was the wrong disk, so I inserted the 1st disk (OS Installer), and held D while booting, but still, AHT would not load.
After countless attempts at loading AHT, all of which led to me forcing shut down/holding power button after seeing the Apple logo, brings the problem to where I am at now: my Macbook does not boot into the login screen. After the Apple logo, and the spinner wheel have appeared, the screen turns white and the display becomes an infinite loop of switching from a gray color, to a white color.
This problem is frustrating me very much, because there are so many possible causes, and the problem persists even after reinstalling the OS, and even replacing the ard drive. The logic board shutoff could be the cause, but then again, the lagging problem started way before it happened. Somebody please tell me what is the problem, and what I should do? Yes, it's a method used to destroy data on a hard drive as it's recorded using magnetic fields, either "on" or "off" to represent the 1's and 0's that make up the basic building blocks of your data.
But, the magnet does not explain why the hard disk reported an error when being erased with zero-over option.
When the driver software has a problem reading the data on the drive, it assumes it's a bad sector, then maps it off and uses a spare. You likely ran out of spares.
I just tried zero-over erasing the second, good hard disk that replaced the original, but again, it fails. Is this a common problem with the zero erase option?

or is it something to do with my hard disks, or some sort of damaged hardware in my computer?
Well this is drive #2 and it's new, and you get the same problem.
It's either something your doing, (like moving the hard drive/ computer while it's operating thus the heads are striking the platters) or it's a hardware defect, or perhaps the magnets did other damage we can't see, perhaps it's magnatized the computer and that's affecting the hard drive or electronics.
May be a loose or defective cable.
It's time for a hardware evaluation at this point. -
Error during application installation on my MacBook Pro
I am trying to install MasterWriter 2.0 onto my MacBook Pro without success.
Actions Taken:
When I contacted the 3rd Party Program TechSupport, he instructed me to delete folders, however the folders were never originally installed by the program, so he had me create them. Installation still failed
He told me to try downloading the dmg file from a different browser, originally downloaded with Chrome. Tried with Firefox and Safari. Still unable to install. However, with Safari downloaded file did receive an error message related to a .jar. 3rd Party Program Tech Support said it was my computer, he couldn't help.
After searching forums, I saw that it could be a JAVA error, as the codes I received had to do with a .jar file. Made sure to perform Software Update, installed the available JAVA update, then tried to installed program. Still unable install MasterWriter.
I have an iMac, so I tried to install on that machine. Success, however, the iMac is not the computer on which I do my writing.
Up until now, all these actions were performed in OS 10.7.4.
Then, using this situation as an excuse to upgrade OS, I clean installed the OS 10.8.1 onto my MacBook Pro.
Knowing that MasterWriter uses Java, and that I need it for Visual Thesaurus (another program on my computer), I installed a version of Java 6 as I know the OS10.8.1 doesn't install JAVA by default.
Now when I try to install MasterWriter I receive this error message: An unexpected error occurred while installing "cd51.dat". 1008:17,-4.
Searching the forums led me to references about case-sensitive files and repairing permissions.
I've reparied permissions and get the following.
Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”
Warning: SUID file “System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent” has been modified and will not be repaired.
Permissions differ on “usr/lib/ruby”; should be lrwxr-xr-x ; they are drwxr-xr-x .

All this and I still can't install MasterWriter on my laptop. I'd appreciate suggestions. Thanks.I'm afraid I've got no more help to offer. All I can suggest is that the software may not be Mountain Lion-ready, and that you may just be encountering a different set of hurdles. Actually, that being the case, maybe MasterWriter's technical support could offer you some help this time (ie. assuming that this is actually a diffeent problem to the original one with Lion)?
If your license permits, and you have Windows 7, maybe you could install the software onto a Boot Camp partition? At least that way you'd get it running on your MBP.
