Elements 12 is applying some kind of filter on all pictures that I open.

When I open a picture regualrly, AND in RAW, it's as if a yellowish filter was applied immediately to my pictures.
I've searched for HOURS for a fix for this and am unable to find anything.
I am extremely disdappointed that this is happening, and really don't want to have to re-install THIS program, or my old version.
Surely someone can help me?

It's happening in both.
I have Windows 7 Pro. When I preview the photos in My Pictures folder, they are fine. The monitor profile is fine. But they get a yellow cast when I open them in 12. I had a Topaz filter that disappeared, also.
I have done all the "reset preferences" and that doesn't change a thing.
Edited to add:
WhenI save the picture, untouched, with a different name, it looks exactly the same as the one I preview BEFORE opening it in Elements 12. So it is definitely in Elements somewhere.

Premiere Elements 8 goes into some kind of hibernate status while opening

Hi!
When I open an old project Premiere Elements 8 first complains about missing preview files so i skip those. Then when it open ups "for real" it just goes into a kind of hibernated status. I cannot reach it an start working.
I have seen this before and then I have gone back to an older version. But it doesn´t help this time.
What should I do? I need to export that project to a high resolution version this weekend.
Ps. I find it very hard to run this forum since you have changed the design. I have tried to search but use probably wrong words. Please help!

Feature Request: Can I save all of my open tabs to some kind of template file so I can re-open all of my tabs at once at a later time from somewhere else?

I'm currently reading 10~15 tabs of pages, and I'd like to take them with me on the road, so I can finish reading all the contents at a later date/place/machine. Is there someway to just save my tabs to like a file, then email it to myself and goto another computer with firefox and run that file and go back to reading all the websites and links I'm currently browsing?

Perhaps the easiest and most reliable way to do this is to use the Session Manager extension. It allows you to easily recover your previously opened tabs from a crashed Firefox session, but it also has a very nice "Session Save" option, which allows you to save all your open tabs to a single very small file, and open it again from any Firefox that has Session Manager installed. I just used this to save my open tabs from before a reformat into my fresh install of Windows.
Another option is using Firefox Sync, but it is best if you only use it on PCs you own, otherwise you could end up syncing your passwords and bookmarks and open tabs onto someone else's computer where they might do who knows what.

Filter off all the unwanted org elements from the selection screens

Hello all,
The client does not want to see SAP predelivered organization elements in the production system.
Is there a way to achieve this globally, by some kind of filter applicable to selection screens of all transactions?
Just to be clear- i do not want to do this for every transaction separately. neither will security set up help, because it becomes voluminous.
Highly appreciate your inputs in this regard.

Applying filter to all states in animation

Hi, im new to fireworks for animating.
I have a bunch of images (about 150) in an animations and i wanted to apply a color fill filter to all states. What is the most effective way to do this?

One way to apply filters to multiple states is by onion skinning. It basically makes all objects clickable at once, regardless of what states they're on.
Click on the small button in the lower left corner of the States panel. Make sure that "No Onion Skinning" is unchecked, and "Multi-State Editing" is checked. Also, if you want to apply the effect to all of your states, check "Show All States" as well.
Now, while you are in the first state of animation, switch to the Select Behind tool (hit 0 to toggle from the regular selection tool). Hold down Shift and repeatedly click on the canvas to select objects from consecutive states. You can check if it works by looking at the radio buttons on the rightmost side of each state in the States panel. With each click, the radio button in the next state gets marked.
When you're done with the selection, set the live filter as you normally would with a single object, and it will automatically apply to all selected objects in all states.
It's still a tedious method when there are a lot of objects involved, like in your case. Not only it's a lot of individual selections, but also rapid clicking will be registered as a double-click, changing the Select Behind tool to one of the marquee tools.
There might be a more efficient way, but it requires some experience with blend modes. The steps are the following:
Make a new layer, right-click it and select "Share Layer to States". Make sure that this layer is the topmost layer in the stack.
Draw a rectangle with solid fill, no stroke. Make sure it that it spans the entire animated area.
With the rectangle selected, play around with the Blend modes (in the upper left corner of the Layers panel), until you get the color effect you're looking for. The color change will affect the entire animation, just as if you applied a color fill to all objects. The final look will depend on the rectangle's initial color, the blend mode, and the colors of the underlying objects.

there is no such answer which is better it depends on your way of coding or in which you feel comfortable.
For difference beteen BADi/Exit you may search in SCN i'm sure you will get many many examples.i found one for you.

My kid downloaded some kind of password hacking software

My kid downloaded some kind of password hacking software and now I'm really concerned. I remember reading how bad it can be ~ malware installed on sectors of the hardware that can't be erased by formatting and reinstalling the OS.
This all came to light when she was working on her computer and it started doing stuff by itself. The mouse appears to move intelligently and the system even shut down by itself yesterday. She's finally concerned enough to confess to what she did ~ after we took the macbook apart to see if the battery was swelling, and then she reveals that the external control appears purposeful and she thinks she's being hacked.
I'm fine just throwing her computer away, but I'm seriously freaked out about safety on my macbook. Is my computer at risk because of her actions on our shared home network? I don't have crazy good passwords, but I do have seriously important stuff on my macbook and if it were hacked and the information leaked, the damage could be far beyond what I could ever recover from. I run a whole business from this computer, and I've always been careful and employ good internet habits and careful software habits.
Anyone have any idea what kind of risk we're at, and how I can find out of my mac is compromised, and maybe how to fix it?

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
4. If your model has an infrared receiver for use with an Apple Remote, disable it.
5. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
6. Reset the System Management Controller.
7. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad or mouse, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
8. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
9. A defective peripheral device or a damaged cable can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using any wired peripherals, disconnect them one at a time and test.
10. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
11. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
12. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

Very slow MacBook Pro. Probably some kind of virus.

I'm helping a friend of mien to repair her computer. Yesterday she wanted to watch a film online and on one of this sides she even clicked on updating her flash player. Afterwards the Mac didn't work anymore and after a restart continued very slow and she probably has some kind of virus. Even writing this text takes forever because the computer is so slow.
I've already done a system check with etrecheck and also tried to find the virus with avira. But this you also see in the report.
So It would be great if anyone could help us.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:

5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Some Kind of "Flow" Layout

Is there any way to make panel groups do some kind of "flow" layout instead of based on the grid?
An example is a panel group what has 6-8 other gridpanels and panel groups in it. the problem is when you programmatically turn on/off various gridpanels or panel groups, instead of the ones that are turned on "flowing" to the top of the enclosing panel group, they are evenly spaced vertically within the enclosing structure.
This makes for ugly pages, and goofy layout. Is there anyway to change the layout algorithm so that it will layout left-ish and up-ish rather than this scattered vertically???

The following info might be of help to you:
The Grid panel displays components in rows and columns. The number of columns can be specified by going to the Properties sheet and entering a value for the Columns property. For example if you mention 5 columns and you drop 12 components into the grid panel, the components will be arranged in 3 rows with the frist two rows having 5 components each and the last row having 2 components. If one of the components' rendered property is set to false then these components after that empty cell move back one cell.
The group panel infact uses flow layout. The order in which the components appear is the order in which they were dropped onto the page. This applies for the grid panel too.

In some countries there are currently only free books available - Apple can sell books where the publishers have granted them licenses to do so (what you can buy where). Do you have access to other ebook apps/stores ?

What kind of filter or mask should I used?

I'm using Fireworks CS4 and have an image of thick muds splattered against our car. I'm creating a family video and am looking to creater a logo for the video where it looks like the video name is written in text in the mud. I've tried applying an inner bevel filter, but it looks poor.
What type of filter or mask can I apply to give the text depth and shadows?
Heck, I'd be willing to pay for some help at this point.
Please let me know if you have any ideas as I'm well beyond my skillo level on this one.

Well...I don't really have a lot of time, right now. But I think you can do something nifty looking without a whole lot of effort.
Here are a few things you could try...
Put some text over your image. Use a wide font, like Impact. Move the text to the part of the image you'd like to have inside the text (or move the image). Select the image and copy it (Ctrl-C is fine). Select the text and go to menu Edit > Paste Inside (Ctrl-Shift-V). You can use this muddy text object over any image for a video title.
The next step is to choose a font that's more interesting than Impact. The first one I linked you to has the advantage of looking like splatters, but the disadvantage of being difficult to read. Look around dafont in the graffiti or distressed themes and see if anything catches your eye. Check the licensing if you're doing anything commercial.
Taking this method one step further, it would be nice to take advantage of some of Fireworks' fancy strokes. For this, you'll need to convert the text to paths. Select the text, menu Text > Convert to Paths. Duplicate this object. Paste your image inside the upper object. On the lower object, apply a stroke. (See example below, Layer 2.)
Hmm...example time. In the bottom example (Layer 3) the stroke is a Textured Air Brush with a Vein texture (unfortunate that the stroke name is also an effect). This is a Fireworks .png, it's just resized by the forum software:

Applying some filters (bcc) makes clip go black!

when i apply some filters (bcc3 film damage) to a clip, it makes the clip go black - even after alt+r to render all.
im on fcp 5.1 and it seems to be just this bcc3 - boris i think it is filter - other third party filters work fine, for example i have another film damage filter by 'G Film' and this works fine.

What graphics card do you have? Not all of them work with the Vignette filter, or Noise...in HD. They aren't powerful enough. Get a warning when you add the filter? We have one computer that can't recognize the filters, so we just replaced the graphics card with an ATI 3870.
