Elements 12 no longer working

Ive been using this program for about a month and now on start up it comes up with not working error.
I have uninstalled and re installed several times, as well as down loading all windows and driver updates.
my system is:
intel core i7
windows 7 64 bit
8 gb ddr ram
3 tb hard drive
nvidia geforce gt 320 1024mb
this program has been working fine up untill a few days ago, i have not added or removed any soft ware when this happened.
when windows seaches for a solution it comes up with nothing.
im using a disc to install from.

Thanks for the follow up information for your issue regarding Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit.
Please check out two possible approaches to resolving the issue that you describe
It stops on the startup window if I try to use the video editor but will open the organizer tab and run that ok
Please review and consider the two how to suggestions in my blog post....I would try the second approach first (the one where you rename the SLStore Folder and SLCache Folder.

Also, you could check out Computer/Manage/Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Applications to look for information/error messages that may relate to the problem.
You could delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file. In Windows 7 64 bit, it can be found in the path

and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path.

I have Premiere Elements 4 through 13 on Windows 7 64 bit, and all are working fine.
You really do not want Premiere Elements 10 on a computer that uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card.
And, 13/13.1 does not support Windows XP, Windows Vista, or OSX 10.7.
Do check System Requirement as well as computer resources.
How far are you getting with the Premiere Elements 3 install on Windows 7 64 bit? Depending on the answer to that question, have you been installing the 3.0.2 Update
after the 3 install?

Have you right clicked the desktop icon for the program, if you got that far, and selected Run As Administrator?
When you are trying to get Premiere Elements 3 on Windows 7 64 bit, are you at least doing that by ignoring the "not compatible" messages and moving onward through
the installation dialogs as long as it will let you?

The Adobe email on my Elements 11 no longer works.

The Adobe email service on my Photoshop Elements 11 no longer works. I have had people tell me they are not getting my photos so I tested it by sending to two different email accounts I have. Nothing received. I checked the History tab in the Photoshop Elements Organizer and it lists the email with attachments as having been sent. This is a handy feature that I really want back. I upgraded from 10 to 11 about 8 months ago and will not be upgrading again if I can't get this feature to work again!
I have Windows 8.1 and use Windows Live email as my default. Since I am using Adobe's email service does my default email service have anything to do with the problem?
I do appreciate any assistance I can get.

Hi,
I solved my Adobe email service by changing my email address to another account and got a new verification code. I still do not understand why my other email account stopped working? Anyway I am back in business, at least for the time being!

I am experiencing the same problem after upgrading to PSE13, but haven't found a solution yet.

Another permanent workaround (which doesn't require to copy the pse database every time you want to sync) is described here: Elements 13: Cannot synchronise photo albums in iTunes after upgrading from Elements 11

Photoshop Elements 12 No Longer Working

Hello, I just bought photoshop the other day and it worked fine upon first using but now it is no longer working! :/ It says: "A problem has occurred that is preventing this program from working correctly". I tried restarting my Windows 8 Notebook PC and running Photoshop as Administrator but it is still not working! Can you please help me? Thank you in advance for all your help!

With both files open, simplest to tile them side by side, you should be able to drag the layer from the source file onto the target file. So long as it shows the 'grasping hand' you can release the mouse and it should add the layer to the target.
So what is happening now on your system? When you drag the layer to the target what icon is shown - 'grasping hand', 'no entry', something else?

What other information is necessary?
I've been working on a video for the last couple of months, and have about 15 minutes of footage. Recently when I opened up the project to work on the last 25% the playback feature stopped working (no sound or audio when play is pressed). I noticed that background rendering was disabled so I re-enabled it, but I am still facing the same problem. I've saved my video in several formats including AVI in hopes that I will be able to finish it at a later date. I am only slightly technical, so please don't waste your time correcting me (I'm sure I've made several mistakes and provided information that is not pertainent to the issue at hand)! Just looking for help, so I can finish my project.

Great news, and actually much better than I had expected - kudos to Lenovo!
Video (and audio) drivers are very fragile things. In regular computing, they are only moderately important, but with programs, like PrE, 3D and CAD apps., the program must interface very deeply with the video driver, and it must be stout. There are many things that can "break" the video driver, and a common one is OS updates. Most Windows OS's are still set on the default update options - fully automatic. This takes place behind the scenes, and the user is seldom aware that the OS has been updated at all. Suddenly, a program like PrE stops working correctly, while most other programs seem to be just fine. Immediately, the user looks to PrE, which is **** just what it did before the OS update - running perfectly fine, but between the program and the Video sub-system, that driver has broken, so things go wrong.
One workaround is to use a System Restore Point, from before the OS update that broke the driver, BUT OS updates are a very, very good thing. Catch-22, if one cannot install an updated driver, that works well with the update status of the OS.
Glad that you found a better solution - new and improved video driver. While you are at it, you might want to check for a new audio driver too, as they are just as fragile, and can bring PrE to its knees.

Elements 3 no longer works on iMac w/ OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)

As someone who only uses PhotoShop to make minor adjustments to digital pix, I have never felt the need to upgrade from Elements 3. As of yesterday it worked perfectly. Today when I try to Open a photo that command (and others) are grayed out on the drop down menu. I re-installed the software from the original disc but that didn't help. Any suggestions other than to bite the bullet and pay to upgrade?

Well, reinstalling was a mistake, since it's very hard to get PSE 3 to install correctly in 10.6, although it runs okay if it was installed before you upgraded OS X. What you can try is to go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
PSE 3 paths
PSE 3 settings
(I'm not sure the exact name of the last two--It might be Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 Paths or just Photoshop Elements 3 paths, for example)
Opera preferences
Repair permissions and see what happens. It's likely not to work anymore though, I'm afraid.

Inspect Element function no longer works

That's it ... updating to the latest version of Firefox didn't work, couldn't access the internet, so had to do a system restore. Now I cannot use "Inspect Element" function to remove irritating blank spaces in sub-windows. How to fix?

Using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because only white-listed files are restored, so always be cautious with using System Restore.
*You may lose data in the Firefox profile folder like .js and .ini files
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

Photoshop Elements 8 no longer working

I had Elements 8 installed on my computer. When it got a virus, I re-formatted it and re-installed Elements 8. Now it won't work! What's the deal? Am I forced to buy the new 11 Elements? Thanks.

Hi Barbara- Thanks for your reply. When I launch editor, I get the Microsoft error message that the program has stopped working. I get the welcome screen and the organizer seems to work but very slowly and then I get the error message. I have uninstalled it and re-installed it several times. That's two separate issues. For the 150:30, if you have a mac:

The revel thing is because you (or PSE) is trying to sign in to photoshop.com, which is dead and gone. You should have received a whole bunch of emails about any photos you had there being transferred to adobe revel, but you can't use revel from within PSE 8:

You can never, never migrate an installed copy of PSE. It's just too complex and you can't get to all the bits and bobs.
First you will have to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
which will not seem to do anything, but is necessary to break the links within PSE so that you can pitch the bits manually. Then you will have to go around, not only to applications, but also to your username>library>preferences and most importantly to the library at the top level of your hard drive>application support>adobe, and remove everything you can find. Spotlight will not help with this kind of search, so don't try that.
Then you can install PSE from scratch.

Can you get to the Welcome Screen? It looks like this:
If you can get to this screen then try holding three keys simultaneously: CTRL+ALT+SHIFT and also clicking on the Editor icon in the above picture and see if you get another small window such as:
You just need to click on Yes button to reset everything to defaults but this is not a panacea to all problems of PSE. This is just a start.

Face recognition no longer works in Photoshop Elements 12?

Have Version 12 and face recognition no longer works - tried deleting and reinstalling but it did not help. Any suggestions to what is wrong appreciated.

You say face recognition no longer works - I'm assuming that it was working at some time.
Why do you say it is not now working?
Do you get any error message?
Does your existing matches show up on the people tab?
Do you have the automatic option checked? (Edit -> Preferences -> Media Analysis - Analyze photos for people automatically)
Do you have View -> People Recognition checked?

Continuous write no longer works after upgrade

Hello,
After upgrading a computer motherboard, OS (XP to Win7), and NIDAQmx (9.40 to 9.80) simultaneously the Labview 2011 32-bit vi we use to run our lab bus control system no longer works (the two most pertinent vi's are included here). My next move is to go back to the older NIDAQmx, but this would mean no upgrade possibility to Labview 2013. The card is rather old (NI DIO-32HS) but is supported according to the documentation in NIDAQmx 9.80 and passes all self-tests. I have also tested the outputs with a voltmeter and the test panel in NI MAX.
For large amounts of data to write, the DAQmx Start Task vi executes and throws the following error:
Error -200293 occurred at Dequeue and write out elements.vi
Possible reason(s):
The generation is not yet started, and not enough space is available in the buffer.
Configure a larger buffer, or start the generation before writing more data than will fit in the buffer.
The buffer is not too small. If I delay the Start Task vi the buffer will fill up more and just crash later. For small amounts of written data (400000 points or so) there is no problem. The output executes perfectly.
I realize that this is no longer the recommended clock timing, but:
1. When I try to use a pipelined sample clock I get the following error:
Requested value is not a supported value for this property. The property value may be invalid because it conflicts with another property.
Property: SampTimingType
Requested Value: Pipelined Sample Clock
You Can Select: On Demand, Sample Clock, Handshake, Burst Handshake, Change Detection
I have tried changing many other properties and looked at the NIDAQmx 9.80 included example for pipelined clock and do not see the problem.

Thanks for having a look-see. I used NIDAQmx 9.4 for all of the tests above. Since then I went back to our old XP computer which it turned out actually had NIDAQmx 9.6.2 (not 9.40) and Labview 11 SP 1. The version of the test program is included here. I modified the channels vi to "one channel for all lines" which doesn't really seem to make a difference. I have the channel set to dev1/port0_32 with the onboard clock at 1MHz. It throws the following error:
Error -200621 occurred at Cont Write Dig Port-Ext Clk-Non Regeneration.vi
Possible reason(s):
Onboard device memory underflow. Because of system and/or bus-bandwidth limitations, the driver could not write data to the device fast enough to keep up with the device output rate.
Reduce your sample rate. If your data transfer method is interrupts, try using DMA or USB Bulk. You can also reduce the number of programs your computer is executing concurrently.
It does not get stable until I reduce the clock speed to 100kHz! And then even crashes sometimes if I run other programs. Which is strange because my lab bus program on this old computer uses 1MHz just fine again, with on board or external clock. The CPU load shoots up with this test VI a lot when you go from 100 to 200kHz. In general this example VI uses much more CPU than my bus program because it is constantly writing to buffer. Loading my buffer in the bus program only takes 1sec or so. I have also changed my bus driver program to use finite instead of continous samples. The bus program craps out at around 1.1MHz clock.
Speaking with other people at the University (4 different groups), it seems that the speed one gets is dependent on the motherboard and DMA somehow. Some computers just seem to give faster rates than others. The overall speed/modernity of the computer and the OS seem to be irrelevant. The others use traditional NIDAQ drivers and the C++ API, but I have not tried that yet, as it would require a recode. Some of them run faster than mine, some slower. We have tried disabling other PCI bus devices and changing the slots. We have also tried various bios versions.
Another thing I noticed, is that the card ALWAYS regenerates, regardless of how the mode is set.
