Hi, I am working on XP Pro with service pak 3. I finally got the elements
12 organizer to open, but only after I removed a program that I had just
installed for an Epson XP610 wireless printer. Elements was working fine
for the first week and then my computer started to slow down and there were
a number of times that the computer would lock up and take ages to perform
any tasks. I may have a corrupted system.

Lightroom is more powerful and robust than Organizer. So yes go ahead if you don't need people recognition.
You can set up te PSE editor as your external editing app in LR preferences and then you can right-click on images in the Library and choose Edit in pse.

Photoshop Elements Organizer won't open on Windows 7

It was working fine one day, I was adding pictures and actually was ordering prints through
Shutterfly and came back to computer and organizer wouldn't open. Any suggestions with

Actually I found the problem after searching through the forum list - it was the solution to reset the organizer's online-services state.
Right, that was the step 7 I referred to.
Is there a known problem with this feature? I definitely am leery of ordering prints through the organizer field again.
Yes, it's been a known problem in the Organizer since at least PSE 6 (2007), with an Adobe tech note describing the problem and the workaround:

Like most bugs in the Organizer, Adobe has explicitly chosen not to fix it.
The problem appears to occur when an upload to a service is interrupted or fails. The workaround, deleting those files, seems pretty reliable.

Elements Organizer doesn't organize by AVI datecode

Can anyone tell me how to get Element's Organizer to use an .avi file datecode instead of it's "date created" property? I've confirmed the datecode is correct with a freeware program called DVdate. I'm using the Elements Organizer that came with Premiere Elements 8.0. Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, there is no way that I know of to do this. Sorry.
You may want to look into a program called DVDate, which does make this type of metadata available on footage from miniDV and, I believe, HDV camcorder footage.

Photoshop elements organizer won't open

I've tried opening the Organizer from the task bar, the Welcome Screen, and from inside the Editor, but nothing happens. Help!

Newly installed Photoshop Elements 12 doesn't open up on my computer.

I can't get past the task menu bar. how do I open up and use photoshop elements 12? I've clicked on Organizer to start organizing media and that didn't work. I clicked on Photo Editor to launch Photoshop Elements Editor and that didn't work.

Which OS are you on?
Please try launching Organizer and Editor from their exe location instead of welcome screen. On windows, double click the exe located at -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer for PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12 for PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
On MAC, click the respective executables from Applications.

Adobe Elements Organizer cannot be opened

Just bought Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premeire Elements and the Organizer for each will not open says to check with the developer to make sure organizer works with my curren version of MAC OSX

Elements organizer 11 wont open

Hello, I just installed Elements 11, updated it to get the Adobe Camera Raw update, restarted, and it won't open. It is stuck with the circle going around forever. I am on a new PC.

Why doesPhotoshop Elements Organizer opens when I click on Adobe Photoshop?

I'm using a MacBook Pro and each time I try to open Adobe Photoshop Elements, the icon for both it and Photoshop Elements Organizer pop up on the menu bar. If I click on APS Elements, it doesn't open, but the Organizer opens instead. This is a new phenomenon. I used to be able to just open Elements. What can I do to make this quit happening?

It depends on what version you are using. In PSE 10 and 11 you can change this "phenomenon" by going to the welcome screen and changing the settings to as shown in this picture:
If you tell us what version you are using, we can give you more info how to get the welcome screen if you are not getting it.
I don't use Mac so I can't help you further.

Elements 11 Organizer does not open

Dear Sirs,
I have bought PSE 11 but it doesn't work! Organizer doesn't open normally
and the different solutions given by the community did not resolve my

I suspect it may have something to do with your monitor settings. Go to the control panel and check dpi scaling under Appearance or Display.
It’s not uncommon to see a setting of 125% or higher to improve screen readability but PSE requires a dpi of 96 or 100%
Whilst the Editor Menu will appear at 120% to 149% the Organizer Menu (and the advanced button in downloader) won’t. Sometimes the mouse or tool cursors are distorted.
Try a setting of 115% to 120% otherwise use 100%. A common display resolution, notably for notebooks/laptops, and netbooks is 1024 x 768 but PSE requires a screen height of 800 for full functionality. If your height resolution is out of the range 768 to 800 try experimenting with the slider/settings.

Preimere Elements 10 - Organizer "Import to Elements Organizer" Not Working...

No star ratings are added.
Nothing has been manually added that is used to filter files from view.
1. Import .mts files to organizer, all files import fine.
2. Next time you open the folder (after closing Organizer and reopening) most of the time, not all videos show up now.
Try to reimport. Nothing new is added.
(Yes, I can confirm ther are 10 files, but only 3 are imported.)
3. Clicking the "Show All" button has no affect.
4. Renaming the folder in Windows Explorer, then Open Organizer, all videos are reimported.
The "Import to Elements Organizer" doesn't refresh files that don't show up in the view.

How did those MTS files get into your computer in the first place? And are they are on your C or main drive or on a second or external drive?
I always recommend opening a Premiere Elements project using the proper settings for that camcorder and then using the Get Media tool to open the capture tool or Video Importer.
This often activates components for working with and viewing that video that aren't otherwise activated.
And, of course, make sure you also have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements.

Elements Organizer hangs on importing iPhoto library

Hi all!
I am trying to import my complete iPhoto library into the Elements Organizer. I chose file→import from iPhoto and it does start some copying process. Then it starts another copying process but stalls after about 10% is done. What also surprises me is that the command import from iPhoto doesn't show any dialogue with options to choose, like "convert albums into somethings". It just start a process. Is it possible that Elements Organizer doesn't support blank spaces as characters in file names? I think it stops when showing some image file I have that has a space character in the file name like "Cologne II.jpg"
The Elements Organizer hangs so badly I have to force-quit out of it.
I am using Elements Organizer 12.1 x64 on Mac OS 10.9.4 and iPhoto 9.5.1 (sharing a library with Aperture 3.5.1).

And this is what it looks like. I have taken screen shots:
First it does this until finished (100%):
(It's German and it says, "3238 of 5748 files are being copied").
Then comes a new window showing this:
(This one says, "38 of 5748 element(s) imported")
and then this just stops at 10% looking like this until I force-quit the Organizer:

Two suggestions: the first one is a workaround. You just have to drill down your program file tree to Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer and find the .exe file - the one specifically for Organizer, not Elements. Make a shortcut to that file on your desktop and it will open Organizer. The second suggestion resolved the problem altogether for me. I actually called Dell and after working with several different techs over several different days, I talked to a tech in premium support who was excellent. I discovered from them that it is actually a problem with the windows system files. I have 8.1. I went through a "refresh" on my computer which rebuilt all the files. Then reinstalled Adobe as well as my other programs again and Photoshop Elements Organizer works from the standard desktop shortcut.

Organizer will not open after downloading Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements

I first downloaded Premier and Photoshop from Dell Digital Download with a new computer. It appeared to be installed, and the opening screen appeared, but when I click on the Organizer side of either software, it will do nothing. Doesn't open. No error messages, it just doesn't open. I contacted Dell and they reinstalled - which took numerous tries - and it still didn't open Organizer. Then we contacted Adobe, who took over the computer after we downloaded it from Adobe instead. It still wouldn't open the Organizer side for them either. They said to post the question, they don't know how to fix it! Anyone?

I'm probably older than the tech guys combined age.
The welcome has often caused problems for many versions although not everyone suffers from it. The problem seems to be that a process gets stuck.
I usually recommend creating desktop shortcuts to each of the main programs. Most of the time I tend to start with the organizer and then I select an image and click on Editor button at the bottom of the organizer screen - that should load the image into the editor.

If you want to get back to the welcome screen, load the organizer, go to the Help menu and select Welcome screen. Then click on the gear wheel (top right) and you can change the settings.
One little tip if you are new to PSE 12, in the organizer go to the Edit menu and select Preferences -> Media-Analysis. Turn off all the options. The other thing to do is to go to the Help menu and select Updates. You should be on version 12.1.
