Elements 12 organizer opens partly above the workspace

I have an Imac with maverick. When I open organizer 12 from the app icon the program opens but I can't see or access the menu bar on the top of the window. Can't drag or scroll the window down except for the lower rh corner. All updates are installed. Restart doesn't help. I also tryed to move it to another workspace. No help of that either.
How can I fix this problem?

Change the screen resolution to something else, then change it back.

Make sure your user account has full administrative permissions. Then, at this stage of the game, I would take the following steps:
- Re-create the Preferences file following these instructions:
Re-create the Photoshop Elements preferences file to eliminate problems that a damaged preferences file might cause.
Note: When you use this solution, Photoshop Elements will create a new preferences file and you will lose custom settings associated with your current preferences file. However, the file you rename in step 2 is your original preferences file. If you determine that the preferences file is not causing the problem, then you can restore your custom settings by undoing the instructions below.
To re-create the Photoshop Elements preferences file:
Quit Photoshop Elements.
Locate the Adobe Photoshop Elements preferences files. In Photoshop Elements 5.0, there are two preferences files, one for Organizer and one for Editor:
Users\[ user ]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Organizer\psa.prf
Users\[ user ]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Editor\Photoshop Elements 5 Prefs.psp
Rename the extension for the files (for example, to psa.old).
Start Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements creates a new preferences file.
I doubt that this will fix your problem, however, it is always the first thing to try. If it does not, take these steps:
- Uninstall Photoshop Elements
- Run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301)
- Reinstall Elements
- Reinstall the 5.0.2 patch

Hiding or elimination or customization of some parts on the workspace

Hi,
I want to either hide or eliminate the work item details part of the workspace? How can I do that?
How can I just hide or eliminate one feature in the work item detailss part like hding or eliminating Optional Tasks, Notes, Attachments et..
Is there a setting to do that?

Under Custom views on the LHS under Project Navigator when I click or right click on Layouts I don't see nothing to add new layouts etc.. The only thing that I see when I right click is Team, Compare With and Restore from Local History and this relates only to SVN/CVS repository..
Nothing to add or delete Layouts from Studio..
Why is that so?

When I open my premiere elements 9, I can't see the workspace, I have to restart the program many times until it works, what happens??

Somebody can help me, the program was fantàstic, but a few months ago, when I open my premiere I can't see the workspace, the program doesn't show me an error message, but I have to restart Windows several times until I can work normally, what happens, adobe premiere have some problems with other programs installed? I don't understand, I have a serial number, I buy a dell with the program installed, with Windows 7.
Can somebody help me, it's very important for me this program and I use it a lot

Photoshop element 9 Organizer never displays commands the File, Edit,etc.

I bought “Adobe Photoshop element 9 Classroom in a Book” after I had already imported my photos into the program. When I tried to follow the instructions, “Creating a new catalog” in page 9 of the book, I was not able to choose File>Catalog to open its dialog box and create a new one – the commands at top of the Organizer did not display the commands File – Edit – Find – View – Window or Help. As a matter of fact, the Organizer never displays these commands at all. Please help!

I have thought about buying the full blown program, but this one is giving it's big brother a REALLY BAD NAME!!

It only happened to me once, a few years ago, and it's basically a PITA.
The short answer is that if your original standard user account is corrupted, there's no way to fix it -- you have to create a new standard user account. That's the easy part, the tedious part is transferring all the user settings for your programs to the new user account.
I worked with MicroSoft tech support on it, and although the technician assured me that merging the old (hidden) AppData directory into the new one would be enough, it wasn't. I pretty much had to launch every app and check to see if the settings were OK. If they weren't, I either had to find where the old settings were or simply re-do 'em from scratch.
N.B.: A new user account won't necessarily cure performance problems -- that's usually an entirely separate issue.

Elements 11 Organizer stopped. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close and notify you if a solution is found.
Help, has anyone solved this?

Have tried those few things that seem to be still applicable to version 11 (as you will know it is not being maintained and stops at version 8).
However, I don't understand what is meant by "sometimes deleting it's saved preferences and registry entries fixes the problem. To do that see these Adobe Tech. notes." Unfortunately the link goes to a page which no longer exists. I guess that rather than "deleting" the saved preferences the author means re-setting to default ? "Deleting registry entries" is a task which should, as I understand it, only be done by those with a high degree of expertise. I am not one of them !
Any comment you have will be gratefully received.

Photoshop Elements 9 - Organize - I have lost the top task bar that shows "File, Edit, Image etc".

Using Photosho Eleements 9, I have just had to install the prgroamme changuing my computers to Windows 7.
After installing this oprogramme, I am unable to see the top Task Bar which shows "Files, Edit, Image etc..
This is OK in the Edit programme.
How do I get this taskbar back again as I am unable to import items?

How does one change or remove the "create" or "open" button on the workspace?

I am using Adobe Reader XI and I am having trouble changing the main toolbar. The first button seems completely immovable. In my case it is the "open" button, with an actual written label next to it. It takes me to a place where I was supposed to "Access all my files". Which is something I do not need. It takes up a lot of space though.
Most screeenshots I have seen show the "Create" button in this place. I don't have (or need) that.
Can you advise me on that?

Why does the organizer update every time the program opens?

Why does the organizer open every time the program opens?

It normally updates if there are new images or edits which are picked up from the watch folder. The default watch folder is My Pictures+sub-folders.

Help With Elements 12 Organizer

I just downloaded Elements 12 and was downloading files to the organizer. The last file I downloaded is full of duplicates of some of the files I down loaded and dups of many of the files i have yet to download. I tried to put the folder back but it took all of my single downloaded folders also. Is there a way to put those pictures back without messing up everything I already did?

The two applications (organizer & editor) can work independently and only talk to each other when they need to.
Are you updating from a previous version or is this the first?
There are (at least) three ways of starting the organizer:-
1) from the Welcome screen
2) from the editor - see button at the bottom of the editor window
3) directly using windows explorer to locate and double click on the following
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
[ignore the (x86) part if on 32bit system]
Can you get any of those ways to work? Do you get any error message or does nothing happen?
You could try creating a new catalog to see if that helps.
Start the organizer (in any of the ways) with the Shift key held down while it loads (if it does). That should bring up the catalog manager
Click on the New button (top right)
Give it a name like Dummy or Test and click on OK - that should create & open a blank catalog

Elements 12 Organizer running on Windows 7 will not launch

I have Elements 12 for over six months and it has been working fine.
I have used Photo editor several times today without a problem.
When I try to launch organizer either from within Editor or from the welcome screen it will not launch.
It appears to being going through the motions but never opens.
I am open to all suggestions at this point.

Try making a direct shortcut to the Organize executable.
Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut – navigate to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer
Choose PhotoshopElementsOrganizer with the gray program icon (not Photoshop Elements 12.0 with a blue program icon).
Double-click your new desktop icon to launch.

PS Elements won't open image

I'm having a strange problem with the PS Elements 9 software on my wife's mini mac computer. The program launches fine, and when I try to open a picture (any picture - I've tried lots) I get the various dialog boxes ("reading Photshop format", color mode conversion progress bar, etc.), but then no window showing the photograph. No error message. Also, none of the windows (info, history, layers, etc.) that I've selected show up. If I go to the file menu to "open recent", it lists the photos I've told it to open but have never seen.
I've tried uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it, but continue to have the same problem. It worked fine when I last used it several months ago. I have various other Photoshop software on my other computers (CS 5, CS 4) and have never had this problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

The editor prefs often get corrupted. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
Hold down the Cmd+Opt+Shift keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or go to applications and hold down the three keys whilst double clicking on the Photoshop Elements Editor application.
You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Close down Elements and re-open it in the normal way - then wait whilst it rebuilds the preferences.
