Elements 12 Organizer window frozen

I run Elements 12 under Windows 7 64bit. The Window is cut and frozen, everything above the "person" (Personen), "location" (Orte), "event" (Ereignisse) bar is cut away -  and everything left of the button "Add Location" (Hinzufügen Ort) is also cut away. The complete window is frozen at the top left corner of the screen and cannot be moved with the mouse from there. I can see and scroll my thumbnails and can get some menu based operation via ALT D and ALT B, but I cannot see my file hierarchy, as it is on the left of the visible area. There is no reaction to mouse right button. I have tried reinstalling, rebooting, reducing the windows character size to small 100%. Kindly help to find a solution.

Thanks for your initiative. I just resolved the problem with the help of the Adobe chat support. It seemingly was a Windows issue. I installed a new user account, changed to that user and opened the organizer from there. It worked allright. Even when I went back to my original user account, the error did not recur. Everything is OK now, although the origin of the problem is a mistery to me.

  • Elements 11 Organizer window is truncated at top, on iMac running 10.9.2, so I can't use Share function, etc.

Elements 11 Organizer window is truncated at top, on iMac running 10.9.2, so I can't use Share function, etc.

Thank you very much.  I changed the resolution from 2048 x 1152 to 1600 x 900, and it showed the bar with the Import, Media ... Create, Share buttons, but did not show the bar at the very top with the red, yellow and green buttons for closing, hiding and maximizing the window.
Then I noticed that Apple had an update to Mavericks available.  Since I installed that, I can set the resolution back to 2048 x 1152 and still see the Import, etc. bar.  I can live without the Close and Maximize buttons, but it does seem like there is a bug lurking here that either Adobe or Apple needs to fix.

  • Elements 10 organizer window position on screen.

I am helping an elderly friend who uses Elements 10 on a MAC, his organizer window appears on screen with the top line/menu bar having File, Edit, find, View etc. off the screen at the top and I can't move it down to display properly. I am not very familiar with a MAC being a PC user myself, does anyone know why this has happened and how to fix it please?

I totally don't understand what you're saying, sorry. One major difference between PSE in windows vs the mac version, is that on a mac, for both the editor and the organizer, that top line is attached to the top of the mac's screen itself, not the program window. You can't do anything to the organizer window that would cover it.
    See:
So are you sure he's  not just  looking in the wrong place? No matter where I put an application window, that top bar with the black apple is at the top of the display in every program.

  • Elements 11 Organizer Window off the top of the screen (OS Mavericks)

Not sure how this happened, but the top of my Elements 11 Organizer screen is off of the top of my desktop screen (OS Mavericks).  I cannot resize or get to the minimize button to fix.  I am stuck only seeing the bottom of the Organizer Screen.  Does anyone have a fix on this??  Organizer (which I use VERY OFTEN) is renedered useless until I can get a resolution to this.

I figured this out, but it was a long, frustrating road.  As others have said, you can reset your screen resolution to another setting, and it should reset your window to fit onto the screen properly, BUT you must completely close (quit) the program (app) while you reset the resolution.  If you leave the app open while making the resolution change, it will not correct the problem.
Hope this helps someone else be less frustrated than I was!

  • PS Elements 9 Organizer window will not display

I've been using PS elements 9 for a long time, today I wanted to import new JPG's and started the program, organizer started but the window that normally displays the organizer, did not come up, when hovering over the organizer icon on the task bar the small image of the organizer shows up but when an attempt is made to open the window, nothing happens.  I am able to open and view/work using the Editor, but not the organizer.  All other programs display properly.  I have power cycled the PC and re-installed program from the original disk with no success.   Can anyone help?

  • Elements 12 organizer frozen

Hi- I am newer to adobe, but I purchased the adobe elements 12 editor and organizer a few weeks back, I have it installed and it was working just fine until about a week ago. When I open the editor, it works just fine, however when I try to open the organizer, it opens to the bottom right of my screen and freezes, you cannot click it to come forward, none of the options are available and it just sits there. The only way to exit is to force quit. meanwhile, the editor is just fine.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks for your initiative. I just resolved the problem with the help of the Adobe chat support. It seemingly was a Windows issue. I installed a new user account, changed to that user and opened the organizer from there. It worked allright. Even when I went back to my original user account, the error did not recur. • Photoshop Elements Organizer is frozen. Help!

I just downloaded the free trial of Photoshop Elements and now my Organizer is frozen. It won't even let me exit. This doesn't exactly make me want to purchase it when my trial is up. Help!

Start PSE to get to the Welcome screen.
Hold down the Ctrl + Shift keys and click Organizer. Keep holding down the keys until you see the Catalog window.
Select your catalog and click Repair.  Select “repair anyway” even if PSE doesn’t find problems.
Then for good measure, click Optimize.
If repairing resolves your issue then fine else repeat the above steps, but click New to create a new catalog.  If you’re able to import photos into the new catalog and the Organizer works fine, then problem can be old catalog.
Check for Task Manager and end the "ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe" file and then try.
    - Try launching Organizer directly from the exe with Admin rights.
Some more solutions once you try these are here http://forums.adobe.com/message/4994459#4994459

  • Photoshop Elements 11 organizer stops working after about 15 minutes with windows 7??

I've uninstalled and reinstalled, changed preferences, removed preferences, added administrator priviledges with full control to several screens, turned over my screen to Dipanjan, Adobe Rep and still does exactly the same thing. Very frustrating! Anyone else getting this windows pop up screen " Photoshop Elements 11 organizer has stopped working" ?
If I don't resolve this soon, I'm going back to PSE 10 and I guess I'll just have to eat the money wasted on it.
    Finally resolution!
Three separate days totaling about 8-10 hours of chat then another 3 or more hours in chat about this issue today with 3 different people. Finally got to Vijay, who said to:
click on edit in the organizer,
    go to preferences,
    click on media anaylsis,
    uncheck all the boxes.
That did it!!! Less than two minutes, done!  No more problems. I can't imagine how much of Adobe's and my time and productivity was wasted going through all the laborious steps, often times repeating the same procedures when I got some one new, only to start all over again.
Many thanks Vijay. You suceeded where so many others failed!
I sincerely hope if anyone else suffers this dilemma, this will instantly resolve it for you and avoid the extreme frustration and agony I went through.
    Cheers!

Ernie, it shouldn't be required. This is a scientific process, a test to find the origin of the issue. If there is something wrong with the catalog, we can try to repair it, but the fact is there are many possible causes to such behavior and we have to start somewhere. Here is a more complete list of the steps you can take to counter this kind of issue: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-photoshop. html
Is everyone here getting a blue screen from the OS? If so, there are much greater problems at hand than it is possible for an application on your computer to cause. Blue Screen errors are caused by hardware issues. Sometimes it is physically faulty parts, but most of the time it is some sort of driver conflict (generally just an old version that needs to be updated). Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for major hardware components, such as your video card. DO NOT rely on your OS to get the current versions of the drivers. Go to the manufacturer's website and download them directly.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 Organizer stopped working on Windows 7 Ultimate N.

A few months ago, Photoshop Elements 8 Organizer stopped working on my Windows 7 Ultinate N computer.  The photo editor still works and so does Adobe Premiere Elements 8.  Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?  I've done a lot of looking on the Internet with no luck.
    Thanks!

    Hi Michel
Have tried those few things that seem to be still applicable to version 11 (as you will know it is not being maintained and stops at version 8).
However, I don't understand what is meant by "sometimes deleting it's saved preferences and registry entries fixes the problem.  To do that see these Adobe Tech. notes."   Unfortunately the link goes to a page which no longer exists.  I guess that rather than "deleting" the saved preferences the author means re-setting to default ?   "Deleting registry entries" is a task which should, as I understand it, only be done by those with a high degree of expertise.  I am not one of them !
Any comment you have will be gratefully received.

  • Adobe elements 11 Organizer.  Setting Outlook 2010 as email client.  (Windows 8 OS)

When I try to setup outlook 2010 as email client in the preferences Adobe services is the only option that will show up in the lookup list for selecting an email client.   Is there some kind of issue between Adobe organizer and Windows 8?

    MCOOK1155
Using my recently obtained Windows 8 64 bit, I have not been able to get Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer Share File Attachments or Photo Mail to work. From what I have read, Windows 8 has a problem with POP servers. But I suspect that what we are encountering goes beyond that.
At the onset, my only choice was Adobe Email Services for the Email client. After I installed Windows Live Mail 2011, I then had the choice for EMail Client of Windows Live Mail 2011 as well as Adobe Email client but neither solved the problem of no email generated.
    a. For Adobe Email Service, used three different email addresses, got valid verification codes for each, was told by the program that I was good to email, yet after the email was prepared, no email with send button was generated for emailing.
    b. I have looked at the system with two different anti-virus program...first McAfee and then Windows Defender.
    c. I have changed the send to email addresses.
    d. I have had no better luck using Windows 8 built in Mail app. In fact, my lack of success with the Photoshop Elements Photo mail feature and the Windows 8 built in Mail app was the reason for my looking for alternatives.
On a comparative note, when I use Photoshop Elements 11 in Windows 7 64 bit, I have the same problem with Adobe Email Service as the Email client. However, if Windows Live Mail 2011 is the Email client, no problems..email generated and sent successfully.
So based on my result, I would say that the answer to your question
"Is there some kind of issue between Adobe organizer and Windows 8?"
    is Yes.
If Photoshop Elements 11 support says there should be no problem with this feature in Windows 8, then I would also be interested in knowing the details of its use of the feature to get the expected Photo Mail and File Attachment results.

  • Feedback Wanted on Windows 7 versus Elements 9 Organizer

I am a Windows 7 user.  Does anybody have feedback on the merits of using Windows 7 versus Elements 9 Organizer for managing a sane filing system so there aren't duplicates OR deleted photos?   So far, I would agree with the previous thread that mentioned the ease of use with CS5's Bridge system compared to Organizer.  Do you use the People/Place/Events templates set up in Organizer or forget about it?

Firstly, the major difference between Bridge and Organizer is that Bridge is a file browser, like Windows Explorer.  Organizer is a file cataloguer, meaning that it stores its own information (tags, albums, etc.) in its own database.
I occassionaly use Bridge as sort of an "enhanced" Windows Explorer when I want to see thumbnails of PSD files and other file formats that don't display as thumbnails in Explorer.  Bridge pretty much follows the folder structure that you've established in Windows, so if you're happy with your file system organization you'll be happy with Bridge.
For my money, Organizer is much more powerful because the organization and display of its database information is independent of the file system structure.  For example, photos stored in wildly separated file folders can be viewed next to each other in Organizer if those photos have a tag in common.  Tagging all your photos in Organizer and optionally also putting them in "albums" is a lot of work up front, but once done, really releases the power of Organizer.
That's somewhat of a subtle point, and often overlooked by users of all different sorts of database programs, such as recipe managers.  The bottom line is that if you're using a database program, it's completely irrelevant where your data (photos or recipes) are stored or how their filing system storage is structured.  The critical thing is to tag 'em correctly in a way that makes sense to you.  Tags are very cheap in terms of storage space, so the more tags the better -- then you can slice and dice your data in so many versatile ways.
Another impressive feature of the Organizer database comes into play if you've catalogued photos on removable media, such as CDROMS or external hard drives.  You can still work with the small images in Organizer even when your external media isn't attached.
