Elements 12 printing help

elemnts 12 - just downloaded two days ago, worked perfect.  yesterday tried to print a project and editor diplayed a pop up saying it was preparing the project, then a pop up from windows comes up saying that elements has stopped working and the program will shut down

Are you a recent switcher from windows? On a mac you make those choices in the OS X print window that pops up after you click Print in the PSE print preview window. The OS X window opens up as a little stub and you usually need to click Show Details to expand it. The ink, paper, etc settings are in the pulldown menu in the middle of the expanded window.

  • Problem with Photoshop Elements Printing

    I have been using Photoshop Elements for a couple of years now and know it pretty well.  Today while attempting to print, a strange problem came up:  After going through the protocol to make a print, just before the image prints PE does a very fast auto correction that basically ruins all the color correction I have made on the image.  How do I disable this function?

    Hi and thanks for your reply. I checked the settings under "Print", "More Options", then "Color Management" and it only has "Print Space", none of the three options that you said I should have.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

      Check your color management by clicking More Options in the print dialog There are basically three options:1) Printer Manages Color2) Elements Manages color3) No color Management Make sure everything is consistent e.g. if you choose Elements manages color make sure color management is switched off in the print driver.

    I want to add Narration to my movies. I've watched the Elements Guided Help for Narration, and closely followed their procedure. But when I click the RECORD tab, I get an error message. "Your current audio hardware selection dos not have any input channels." My question, therefore: Do I need to buy an external microphone? I have an HP Pavilion Laptop, running WIndows 8.1. I thought I had a built-in microphone. But ,maybe not. Please help. Also, WHAT KIND of microphone - exactly - should I buy? Thanks for your help.

  • Problems when printing help topics from OHJ

    We have encountered some persistent problems when printing help topics from Oracle Help for Java (Ice Browser).
    NOTE: When we print the same source files from Oracle Help for the Web, the printing problems are gone.
    (1) Spacing Errors (all printers had identical results)
    Text with special formatting (<b>, <i>) often has either too much space or not enough space.
    Links often have extra spaces underlined before or after the link, itself.
    (2) When printing multiple help topics from the TOC (an entire branch in the tree):
    On some printers, no graphics print correctly, but instead print as one of the following: 1. empty box the size of one character, 2. black box the size of one character, 3. black box the size of the original graphic. We could not detect a pattern that caused 1, 2, or 3.
    NOTE: all graphics are bit maps (screen captures) that were generated in the same manner.
    NOTE: if these same help topics are printed one at a time form Oracle Help for Java, the graphics print fine.
    Is this a problem with the Ice Browser?
    Thanks for the help,
    Wendy Studinski

    There are a known issue with the ICEBrowser printing in some circumstances. The laying out of text by the ICE Browser relies on font metrics (being able to measure the width of a run of text in a given font). On screen it looks great, but when printing, even though the GraphicsConfiguration for the printer is being used, these widths are sometimes off, which can result in text running together at boundaries between text styles. We're not sure what to do about this problem, and we've reported it to IceSoft.
    Not every font has this problem, so varying the font you are using might help the appearance when printed.
    The other problem you report, problems with the images when printing multiple topics, is something that we will look into.

  • Borderless Printing Help

    I really need some borderless printing help. I finally figured out with my printer, that the bottom margin is ridiculously offset so I need to use borderless printing to prevent the bottom footer from being cut off (HP 2610 printer, margins being read are .07"-top, .13"-right&left, .56"-bottom).
    I know there is a way to choose borderless from the page setup screen. And I tried looking in the system preferences to see if I could choose borderless as the default but there doesn't seem to be a way as far as I can see.
    Does anybody know if there is a way to override the settings and make the borderless 8.5x11 the default paper size instead of the standard US letter?
    BTW I am looking to do this on a system-wide basis since multiple programs have this problem, but if anyone knows of ways to do this specifically in Pages or Word that would be helpful too.

    Got it to work in MS Word 2004. Any idea of how to get it to save in Pages 2? I choose to Save As Default, but it keeps reverting back when I open a new document.

  • Bex Broadcasting w/Print Help Service

    I need to set up BEX Broadcast that will process a web template, then run the Print Help Service, and finally send the output (print formatted) to an email distribution list.
    How can I set up either the web template or the broadcaster so that it will include the call to the print help service in it's command stream when scheduled through the broadcaster?
    Thanks

    Audrey,
    usually, you don't attach "modify_class" to the URL CMD, rather it needs to be attached to the object tag of the "item".
    Once it is attached to the object tag, you just need to attach "help_serivce" class & the "item" to the URL CMD.
    I've included a few lines of sample code here. Hope it helps.
    <object>
    <param name="HELP_SERVICE" value="ZPRINTING"/>
    <param name="MODIFY_CLASS" VALUE = "ZCL_TABLE_ENHANCE">
             ITEM:            TABLE_1
    </object>
    <A href="JavaScript:window.open(SAP_BW_URL_Get() + '&CMD=PROCESS_HELP_WINDOW&help_service=ZPRINTING&item=TABLE_1');" >

  • Poor Elements print quality

    I am using PS Elements 7.0 and my printer is an HP Photosmart 637.  I take pictures using .JPG usually in a large format on a Canon 40D.  My pictures look fantastic via Elements (on the monitor), but are "washed out" upon printing.  Colors appear dull and generally do not look anything like the images on the screen.
    Recently I sanpped an image, uploaded it to PS Elements, printed the image to my HP.  I then removed my compact flash, pluged it into my HP and printed the same image with much better results.  What am I doing wrong in PS Elements that would create sub-par images?
    Thanks very much in advance.

    Please elaborate on this: "JPG usually in a large format ."
    Go to Image>resize>image size, and provide height & width in inches for the file, and the resolution in px/in
    Further to previous post, is color managed both in Elements and in the printer,  based on current configuration?
    Are you using ink and paper from same manufacturer?

  • Printing help in Elements 8

    I feel I must be missing something very obvious or else I am just a dummy! I have been using an older version of Photoshop Elements for a few years and have now downloaded the trial version of Elements 8. In the older version when I wanted to print a single photo I had the option of not centering the image and could place it anywhere on the page. That way I could do one or two prints and then use the same sheet of paper to print more on it later. I cannot find how to move the image around on the page in Elements 8. Can anyone help, please?

    I cannot find how to move the image around on the page in Elements 8.
    Alas, you can't find it because you can't do it. You have no control over where PSE 8 chooses to print your image on the page--that's one of the "improvements" in PSE 8.
    The workaround is to create a new blank document the size of the paper you normally use, at the resolution at which you normally print, and then place your actual image on that. You can use the move tool to reposition the photo where you want it on the larger page before entering the print dialog.

  • Lots of blank space when printing array with only last element printed

    I have a slight problem I have been trying to figure it out for days but can't see where my problem is, its probably staring me in the face but just can't seem to see it.
    I am trying to print out my 2 dimensional array outdie my try block. Inside the trying block I have two for loops in for the arrays. Within the second for loop I have a while to put token from Stringtokeniser into my 2 arrays. When I print my arrays in this while bit it prints fine however when I print outside the try block it only print the last element and lots of blank space before the element.
    Below is the code, hope you guys can see the problem. Thank you in advance

                   for(x = 0; x<=flights.length; x++)
                      for(y = 0; y<=flights.length; y++)
                         while(tokenised.hasMoreTokens())
                            //System.out.println(tokenised.nextToken());
                            flights [x] [y] = tokenised.nextToken();
                            //System.out.print("*"+ flights [x] [y]+"&");
                   System.out.println();
                catch(ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException e1)
                   System.out.println("error at " + e1);
                catch(Exception e)
                finally
                   try
                      reader.close();
                      catch(Exception e)
             int i = 0;
             int j = 0;
             System.out.print(flights [j]);
    //System.out.println();

    A number of problems.
    First, I bet you see a lot of "error at" messages, don't you? You create a 21x7 array, then go through the first array up to 21, going through the second one all the way to 21 as well.
    your second for loop should go to flights[x].length, not flights.length. That will eliminate the need for ArrayIndexOutOfBounds checking, which should have been an indication that you were doing something wrong.
    Second, when you get to flights[0][0] (the very first iteration of the inner loop) you are taking every element from the StringTokenizer and setting flights[0][0] to each, thereby overwriting the previous one. There will be nothing in the StringTokenizer left for any of the other (21x7)-1=146 array elements. At the end of all the loops, the very first element in the array (flights[0][0]) should contain the last token in the file.
    At the end, you only print the first element (i=0, j=0, println(flight[ i][j])) which explains why you see the last element from the file.
    I'm assuming you have a file with 21 lines, each of which has 7 items on the line. Here is some pseudo-code to help you out:
    count the lines
    reset the file
    create a 2d array with the first dimension set to the number of lines.
    int i = 0;
    while (read a line) {
      Tokenize the line;
      count the tokens;
      create an array whose size is the number of tokens;
      stuff the tokens into the array;
      set flights[i++] to this array;
    }

  • Photoshop elements 6 help with making a clipping mask

    I have a button template (for a pinback) I put into elements. What I would like to do is make a country flag button. Right now the flag image is sitting ontop of the template. I would like to make a clipping mask (I think that's what's it's called) so that the image covers the entire part of the button that will be seen when it is printed. Here is a link to a button. • I am totally perplexed... photo printing help suggestions with Canon

    I am a recent convert from the PC world... been using my iMac for a little over 6-7 weeks now. For the most part I love it but still run across a few bumps in the road. This is one of them...
    Before I switched to my iMac I was printing some fairly good photos on my Canon IP6700D. I used Photoshop Elements 5 and Adobe Lightroom. I have since upgraded to PSE 6 for Mac and Lightroom 2 for Mac. I have also tested Aperture and printed from iPhoto.
    The photos I am printing now are pretty lousy... I have tried various settings. What I am missing... or cannot find... are the printer preferences that were easily accessed in the PC world. The preferences gave me a huge number of settings and profile options.
    Am I missing something easy... or is this just a difficult process.
    Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

    Yes, that is exactly what you want to see. Most of the colour management settings are controlled via these menus.
    When going to the printers and fax in preferences I can't get ink levels and it only offers basic maintenence.
    To do the maintenance, you need to open the printer queue and then selecting the Utility icon in the printer queue pane - note we try not to use the Window
    I do photography so I want to get the best reults from the printer but I can't find the options for me to select the highest quality print.
    The paper presets determine the gamuts used for printing. These are the simplest way to get the best output from the printer. But if you need to modify your output, then the Color Options menu is the place to tweak your output.

    I don't seem to have much in the way of options through utility. I also cannot retrieve ink level information??? should i be able to see that?
    With regards to confirming printing options and the interface, by hitting the triangle i get the list - layout, quality and media etc. That is what i use and within those headings i would then see the options that are specific to my canon printer. They are not generic. I don't have a heading 'printer features' which a friend has with a different printer(should i have that heading??) but for me to produce higher quality prints/ or lower for that matter i would select the paper type and it automatically bump up or reduce quality accordingly.
    Sorry if i'm coming across a bit dumb here.

  • Using Bottomline Paybase special form printing - Help!

    First I apologize if this is not directly related to ABAP.  We are currently implementing SAP ECC 6.1.  Instead of printing special forms (AP check, Payroll Check and Direct Deposit advices) via SAP we will use the PayBase software from Bottomline Technologies.  Paybase is very simple; it reads text files that has the data for the forms and based on locating the data by row and column location in the text file it prints the special forms on a laser printer.  Our implementer is having difficulty producing a TEXT file from each form and instead has given us RDI files which has data tags associated with each data item to be printed.  These would work but not all data elements have unique data tags and not all fields that are on our forms are in the RDI files.  Actually, I am not sure what these RDI files are.  Again, we simply need a TEXT file for each type of form as they are produced by the business processes (Payroll, AP processing, etc.) that can be read by the Paybase software for printing.  Bottomline will simply change our PayBase program to look in the new spots for the data as compared to the current text files we use in our legacy applications we're migrating from.  So my question, is there a way programmatically that a text file with the data generated for AP checks, Payroll checks and Direct Deposit advices can be produced each time they are generated?  I found that you can export as text from the spool request (SP01) screen but is there a way to have the data as it's produced in SAP automatically generated to a text file, again just the data that Paybase could use to send to the forms via it's print software?  Thanks!

    Please find a small info related to RDI
    RDI files are created using sapscript Raw Data Interface (RDI)
    and some external text management systems can be connected.
    This can be controlled using sapscript print programs.
    Say for example
    Forms can be printed via the raw data interface using the function modules OPEN_FORM The function module has an additional optional import parameter: RAW_DATA_INTERFACE.
    if input values for this parameter is " X " then output will move to spool, if it is " I " output will be IDoc
    This you can configure thru SE71> form name> change> from the top menu>attributes>miscellaneous> RDI output mode and output device.
    I think you can configure this to output mode I (IDoc) and send the IDoc to a File port. So in the File port Output will be in TEXT mode.
    I think this will help you out.
