I use Photoshop Elements 12 daily. It seems there IS NO tech support at Adobe itself! It suddenly refuses to open at all and sends a report to Apple. What do I do? Can't continue to operate my web magazine without it! (Yosemite 10.10.1, 21.5" iMac)

If you're talking about apps, then you have downloaded iOS apps which are intended to run on an iPhone or iPad, not a Mac.

Adobe Reader XI suddenly refuses to open PDFs.

Adobe Reader XI in my wife's pc suddenly refuses to open PDFfiles. A message pops up saying: EULA display has stopped to function. I have reinstalled Reader XI several times. Installation runs fine, but it still refuses to open. During installation I have disabled antivirus programme Norton Internet Security. We have tried Reader 10 and 9, but they don't function either. Earlier we have opened thousands of PDFs. We never had this problem before! We use Windows 7 and Explorer. What can we do? Please help! Lisbeth and Carsten

I had the same problem just now and what worked for me was i archived a email in MS outlook using the Adopbe PDF dropdown menu and then I had full access to X Pro again.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

My Talk Talk mail box suddenly refuses to open.

I have a Tiscali/talk talk provider.
Suddenly and for no apparent reason the system refuses to open my mail box, it says I have 'undefined' mail (instead of 6 or 17 or whatever)/
I have spoken to Talk Talk who say most of their customers using your Mozilla Firefox are experiencing this problem, which is being addressed and technicians are working on the problem.
They have checked out for other contributing factors and apparently there are non.
So what is causing the problem? Why? And when can I expect to access my emails there. The matter is now getting urgent.

Adobe photoshop elements suddenly refused to open (launch)

I had purchased Photoshop Elements 12 Editor for my mac laptop perhaps 1 or 2 months ago. It worked fine until last night. It suddenly keep saying "your application quit unexpectedly, do you want to re-open?" Either reopening or saying cancel and just open the application, both show the same result. It would repeatedly say "your application quit unexpectedly, do you want to re-open". I cannot photoshop to open at all. I deleted the app and downloaded new one again. It's still not working. I am really puzzled at why it suddenly quit working. Any help to get it up and running would be really great as I really need to use it for my son's school's event. Thanks

Reinstalling is not the way to fix these things, usually. First go to your user library and delete:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings
com.adobe.Elements Organizer.12.0.plist
com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer12.plist
and any lockfiles with the same names, then go to Saved Application States (at the same level as preferences) and delete any for PSE, then repair permissions and launch PSE again.
To see the User library, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the Option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account.

Elements 10 Suddenly will not open. Should I uninstall/deactivate and re-install or will I never be able to use it again? On windows 7 using parallels on Macbook Pro and never had this problem ever.

I ran trouble shooting and conflicts. It now keeps wanting me to switch to a different windows OS rather than 7 which is what I am running and how it worked previously. The only thing I have done in the last several days that may have freaked it out is downloading flash because my flash kept crashing in google chrome (i did days of trouble shooting before doing this. Thanks to Adobe I've used up about 4 days of non productive trouble shooting and now this!). It simply doesn't open anymore - not even an error message.
Just wanted to confirm that the next step should be deinstall/deactivate and then try to reinstall. But worried Adobe has rigged it so that only works if reinstalling on a different computer. Should I anticipate any problems in un & re install?

That person is misreading the prompt. It merely tells you that if you DO want to uninstall old versions, you should stop the install now and go do that first because the installer won't do it (and you really don't have to--you can uninstall later if you decide you no longer need the old version). It never says you MUST pick a version, although many people misread it to mean that.

I have been using firefox on my desktop with windows xp for years with no problems and suddenly refused to open. The error message reads "unable to locate component. plc4.dll was not found." What does that mean? How do I fix it?

The error message also suggests that I unintall and reinstall firefox, I tried that but it does not fix the problem.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then disable Virtualization and reinstall Firefox.
Other security software may have similar features to prevent Firefox from updating files properly.

How do I open a PDF file (created in Illustrator) that suddenly refuses to open in Illustrator?

Hello everyone. I'm having a strange issue that seems to have happened out of nowhere. I use a variety of Adobe Products for work and have been using Illustrator for a few basic brochures (I know InDesign is probably recommended more for brochures, but I just prefer Illustrator).
I actually design them in two files with a "front" and "back." I then merge the PDFs together into one file and send them to the printing company.
Recently, I've been working on one of these brochures. One morning I came into work and attempted to open the "inside" file for the brochure. Unfortunately, I receive an error message that says "Could not open the file." The file was saved as a PDF with Illustrator editing capabilities. I've been working on it for weeks and it only now stopped working. It does open in Adobe Reader as a standard PDF. Just doesn't make any sense to me. The "front" of the brochure opens normally in both Illustrator or Adobe Reader.
On a related (or unrelated?) note, I'm also getting far more crashes lately.
Any thoughts as to what could be going wrong? I've updated all my drivers, Illustrator, my GPU, windows updates, etc...

One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).

Failing a full recovery, hopefully you have one or more earlier versions and/or bits of artwork saved before it happened.

HELP!!!... Premiere Elements 12 suddenly won't open

In December 2013 I purchased and installed Premiere Elements 12 and it was working fine. I have completed a project in it that I am ready to publish, but now when I try to launch the program it gets to the quick time part of loading (if you watch what the text says near the bottom of the window as it loads, it get to quick time and then quits). Really frustrated by this and hoping someone has a solution to help me correct without losing my project. Thanks.

Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
Can you open a new project? If so, do so, and, while you have the project open, go to Help Menu/Update and update from 12 to 12.1.

ITunes suddenly refuses to open

I'm looking for some help with my iTunes. I have windows 7 and have been running iTunes on it for months now. Just today I attempted to open iTunes and a few messages came up saying that I'm missing CoreVideo.dll, CoreAudioToolbox.dll, that there are problems with QuickTime, and that I need access to some key thing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I keep getting error messages about some key. I'm boiling in frustration and just want my iTunes to work again. If anyone can offer some help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Does it delete the old Preferences (plist) file?
If you reinstall an app on a Mac to try to fix it, if the Prefs are wonky and you don't delete them too, nothing will improve...
Many times all you need to do is delete the Prefs file (the app will automagically create a new one] and the problem is fixed!

Illustrator CC refuses to open

Just upgrading to CC. Indesign and Pshop work fine. Illustrator refuses to open. Using a 27" Imac w/2.66 i5 with 4GB ram. Running 10.6.8

Never launches. the icon flashes for an instant and nothing happens. I've uninstalled and downloaded again. We have a three user
license and it does the same thing on the other Imac.

FCP refuses to open particular projects

Hello everyone
My problem basically is that FCP suddenly refuses to open projects that were able to a few days ago. It seems that it is selecting the ones it wants to open rather than ones I want open. All were edited in FCP6.02
I tried doing a clean install (upgrade) from FCP 3 to FCP 6.02 and the problem still exists. Two projects still won't open. When I re start I get a FCP message stating "Something has happened"
Can anyone help?

Sounds like something's pretty weird if you can't find the autosave versions. Do a spotlight search for your fcp project name and see if perhaps they're hiding someplace.
But here's another idea. Often, when a project won't load, the problem is a corrupt piece of media. First and easiest thing to do is to delete all your renders. You will have to rerender but that shouldn't be too big a problem. If that doesn't help, try taking all your media offline. Hopefully all your media is on an external drive, so simply disconnect the drive from the computer before trying to launch fcp. If your project will load, do a save as for the project and shot down, reconnect the drive, launch the saved as project and gradually reconnect the media til you find the problem.
