Elements 12 - want to print a 4 x 6 photo

Elements 12 -
About to print a photo....
can't change the:
paper type - one choice only = plain paper
paper tray -  one choice only = main tray
paper size - one choice only = 8 x 10

Have you downloaded the latest drivers from the HP site:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=219&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw _lang=&product=3692888#N199
Often, the drivers bundled with OSX are almost outdated by the time the compute ships. Printer makers release updated drivers fairly often, so the best source in teh printer company's site.

I did not know what to do next.  At the bottom of the window it said to go to www.apple.com/colorsync to find a tutorial.  I got a message saying that link does not work.  Tried to find the tutorial by searching at apple.com, but could not seem to locate it.  Does anyone know what the report above means and what I should do about it?
Also, how to find that tutorial?
Re Using RGB all the way through, When I print from Photoshop Elements, I select Adobe RGB, Photoshop Manages under "Color Handling", Relative Colometric  under "Intent" and "ColorSync" i the Epson printer box.  Do you mean to do something different in this sequence?

  • Want to print Logo

    Hi
I want to print logo in the RTF header. The Logo file path is coming from Profile value. I am getting the path given in the profile. but i am not able to print the pic(logo). Can anyone help me on this.
    Thanks in advance

Adding question for Tim to this thread for dynamically printing image.
If I hard code value then I can see my image on report.
    url:{concat('${OA_MEDIA}','/','NI_GLOBAL_COMM_INV_NI_LOGO.gif')}
But If add a reference element from XML file then I don't see image on my report.
    url:{concat('${OA_MEDIA}','/',LOGO_FILE_NAME)}.
My XML file look like this:
    <NI_GLOBAL_COMM_INV>
    <LIST_G_HEADER>
    <G_HEADER>
    <LOGO_FILE_NAME>NI_GLOBAL_COMM_INV_NI_LOGO.gif</LOGO_FILE_NAME>
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks,

  • Just want to print

I'm using an HP OfficeJet to do my family prints that aren't going on display at art museums in new york. No matter that I tell LR 3 that the printer will manage the color, prints are horribly dark. So, I print to jpg, spark up Photoshop Elements 2, and print beautifully.
I am so in love with managing and retouching photos in LR. The nonsense with printing from LR (that a great many people seem to be experiencing) is scandalous. If I can produce jpgs from the print module that print fine with scanky old software, there's something going on that should be avoidable. I don't have hair to pull out, so I'm not only throwing away photo paper, but my frustration is building.  Does anyone have a simple formula to get LR to let go and just print?

If you want your printer to manage the colors you have to do two things:
    1) tell LR that the printer manages colors (you did that)
    2) tell your printer (in the printer dialog box) that it should manage the colors, i.e. usually just choosing sRGB but not "Application manages colors"
    Vice versa:
If you want LR to manage colors do two things
    1) tell LR to manage the colors
    2) tell your printer (in the printer's dialog box) that the colors are "application managed".
Having said that, why don't you let LR manage the colors? You'll probably get better prints that way.

  • How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s? And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.

How do I take 300 dpi photos with my iPhone 4s?
And how do I export them to my MacBook Pro at 300 dpi to use as I want to print photos.
I have been using the standard camera on the iPhone and require 300 dpi to create photo books as the photos are resized according the layout.
Your time and assistance in appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks Tonefox!
After looking at a few of the links I found a mathematical equation that assisted me.
    Inches = Pixels/DPI
    eg: 3 inches = 300 pixels/100 DPI
Using this equation and the fact that iPhone 4s takes photos that are 3264 x 2448 I was able to work out the largest print I could make with 300 DPI.
    Width 3264 pix/ 300 DPI = 10.88 inches
    Height 2448 pix/ 300 DPI = 8.16 inches
Therefore, the largest print (with 300DPI) I can make of these photos is 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches.
    Which is great!
So is it critical for me to change the dpi in say photoshop or does it not matter as long as I don't go above the 10.88 inches x 8.16 inches?
From what I can gather the smaller I resize the photo the higher the DPI and the bigger I stretch the photo the lower the DPI?
Further clarification will be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Photosmart Premium C309a. I want to print on CD/DVD without using the templates provided

In the templates included in the drivers/software, there are only a few variations to use. I want to design the print-layout myself, (a blank CD/DVD), but have so far not found any way to do that. Does anyone know how to do it

    Hi excolprof,
We only support disc printing with the supplied Easy Photo Print and My Image Garden software.  You are welcome to try using third party programs, but as they are not supported, the only steps I can recommend would be to make sure that hte paper size is set to CD Disc within the software.

  • I don't have a wireless printer, and want to print things off of my iPad.  I know that I can use the iPad Camera Connection kit to connect USB devices like keyboards and I am wondering if I could do the same with a USB printer.

I don't think you can connect a printer since you won't have the printer drivers. I use FingerPrint from collobos.com to print to my non-AirPrint printers.

    Hi pa_tom,
In your printers folder on your computer, is the default printer set to your printer, or your printer- fax?
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

  • I have HP Deskjet 3510 connected wireless - problem is that it wants to print only black and white - is there a color button I am missing?  The print quality report is fine in color etc.

I have a HP Deskjet 3510 and it wants to print only in black and white.
The Print Quality Report is fine and in color.
Is there a color button I am missing?

In the Print & Scan system preferences, does it indicate it is using a generic printer driver or a Gutenprint driver?
Also, if you click on Options & Supplies, you might want to check and see if has to be enabled. That kind of sounds odd though.
Another thing is it might not be showing. If the bottom of the print dialog has a button that says "Show Details," click it. Then, you can change settings in the popup menu.

  • When printing a list in Address Book, how can I select more than the default Attributes and keep them selected when I print again? I want to print ALL information for contacts so I have email address, notes, phone, company, title, etc all on one page.

When printing a list in Address Book, how can I select more than the default Attributes and keep them selected when I print again? I want to print ALL information for contacts so I have email address, notes, phone, company, title, etc all on one page. I don't want to have to check off an additional 5 or 6 attributes each time I print out contact information. Is there a way to change the default setting for printing lists, so it is not just "phone," "photo," and "job title?"

I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. Not sure if it is free or not, but it was recommended by a link on the Mac support site.

  • I want to print directly from my iPad to a HP Officejet J6480 wireless printer.  Do I need an app for this or can I do it without and if so, how?

I am a new iPad (wi fi version) owner but not the new iPad 2.  I have a home wireless network and have a HP Officejet J6480 wireless printer.  I print from my iMac and Powerbook directly using the wireless network and want to print directly from my iPad also.  Do I need a special app for this or can I do this with something already "built-in" to the operating system of the iPad.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you're comfortable going 'under the hood', this thread originally started in November 2010 contains a minor tweak to OS X that might work for you:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2658720?threadID=2658720&tstart=0
It allows devices on iOS 4.2 or newer to print to shared wired and wireless printers as long as the Mac is on and awake.

  • How do I specify that I just want to print pg 1 to 2 not the rest of doc

I'm new to apple and not sure how I specify which pages to
print there doesn't seem to be a print preview in the sense I
can specify and define what I want to print of a document.
I found the 'grab' feature/crosshairs to locate on a portion of
a page so I can print a portion of one page yet doesn't give me
a range selector to specifically set it to certain no. of pages.
Even if I have two page document I like to have the control
to print one page so i can turn page over and print the 2nd
page of a document versus having a bunch of one sided
printed pages. Is there a double side print feature? Where do I
find these settings in the Leopard 10.5 o/sys? Intuitively I'd think
File print yet I wasn't able to come up with it as yet?

When the print dialog box comes up, the default looks pretty small. However, there is a button that looks like a triangle next to the pull down menu where it says "Printer:". This will give you some more options, including being able to print pages in a specific range.
Should say Pages: From # to #.

    Hi,
I am currently replying to this as it shows in the iChat Community.
I have asked the Hosts to move it to Snow Leopard  (you should not lose contact with it through any email links you get)
I also don't do Wirelss printing so I can't actaully help either.
