Elements 13 ERROR Converting Catalog & Resolution

Hi,
I'm upgrading from PSE 12 to PSE 13
The error reads:
Conversion Failed
Catalog conversion failed. Try repairing the catalog with the software that created it and retry conversion. Please refer to the Help article "Catalog Conversion Errors" for more details.
I have no files to reconnect.
Adobe Revel is connected
I'm on Win 8.1 64
Asus PB278 reolution 2560x1440
Resolution was great in 12.  PSE 13 is ridiculous. Can't use it that large.
Also, this hasn't damaged my original catalog file correct?

After following the directions under this
Troubleshoot catalog backup, upgrade | Organizer | Elements 6 or later
it finally worked. Now can someone tell me if I'm supposed to rename the
Rename the file thumb.5.old back to thumb.5.cache.
and the same with this file
Rename the file face.thumb.9.old back  to face.thumb.9.cache.

  • Upgrading, Elements 10 to 13, error converting catalog

    On the first try I received an error message in E13 when the process was completed which told me the catalog file was corrupted. I then closed down 13 and started 10 and ran  manage catalog, and was told there was a problem with thumbnails, and I used the repair function. Tried to open catalog again in E13 after shutting down E10. Got the same corrupted file message. Going back to E10 running manage catalog and a new repairr I was told there is no problem with the catalog. I then tried to use my back up of the E10 and restore function in E13. After the whole restore process was completed (to another partition than where I have my E10 files) I got the error message again telling me that the catalog file was corrupted.
    If I cannot move my catalog, the money spent on E13 is a waste. No way I'm going to organize 50k of pictures from scratch.
    Any hints on what else to do to make the transition from E10 to E13 possible?

    Sometimes catalog conversion fails. It’s often a question of needing full permission settings and the easiest way to make it work is as an administrator directly from the desktop which bypasses the welcome screen background processes. Make a shortcut for organizer as follows: On Windows right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose New >> Shortcut Browse to Computer OS C: Find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit. C: >> Program Files (x86) >> Adobe >> Elements 13 Organizer Within the Elements 13 Organizer folder find the application PhotoshopElementsOrganizer (not Photoshop Elements 13.0) Select (highlight) PhotoshopElementsOrganizer and click Next Then click Finish. Now right-click on your new desktop icon and choose “Run As Administrator” Then authorize by clicking yes in the User Account Control dialog. From the Organizer menu click: File >> Manage Catalogs Then click the “Convert” button Select your desired catalog from the list of previous versions of PSE to highlight it then click the “Convert” button down below it You should receive a message when the conversion has been successfully completed and your earlier catalog will be automatically re-named. Choose the new name from the list and click the “Open“ button and you are good to go.

If i had that number I could manually rebuild my collections into the photoshop elements 12, but all that i see in photoshop elements is dates and i have multiple pictures from the same dates. HELP! I

    finally getting back to this project---adobe starter edition 3.2 is on a windows XP computer
    ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 12 is on our Windows 8.1 computer.
    error messages--- had to give up trying to convert---I copied all our pictures to our windows 7 laptop and I installed adobe photoshop elements 12 (my bought program)
    I wanted to try to convert there first. also I copied our catalog to this computer also. Everything was working fine I could see the collections just as they where on the XP computer.
    then I tried to convert on the laptop. I believe the error said something about corrupt file, so I gave up that day. Next day I tried to open ADOBE STARTER EDITION 3.2  and it wanted an unlock code, no such code exists. and my copy of Elements 12 turned into a trial version which has expired. So I am a little hesitant to try to convert on the XP  computer and mess up the existing catalog,
    unless there is a fool proof way. I have tried manually making collections/ albums on Windows 8.1 and PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 12  and coping pictures into the new albums. sloooow!!
    I probably have about 4500 pictures and 150 collections/ albums to go. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Convert catalogs: Photoshop Elements 10 to 11

    Hello,
    After the installation of Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on my new system, the catalogs of version 10 do not appear for the conversion to version 11; my 2 catalogs are installed on a LACIE-2BIG NAS system. Any idea regarding this issue? Thanks.
    Elements Organizer 11.0.0.0
    Version principale : 11.0 (20120830.r.32025)
    Version de langue : 11.0 (20120830.r.32025)
    Système :
    Nom du système d'exploitation : Windows 8
    Version du système d'exploitation : 6.2
    Architecture du système : Intel processeur Famille : 6 Modèle : 12 Niveau : 3 avec MMX, Entier SSE, FP SSE
    Mémoire intégrée : 16 Go
    Mémoire disponible : 13,4 Go

    I suppose you still have version 10 available on your new computer ?
    I have no experience with NAS drives, but I think it would be interesting to test the conversion after moving (from PSE10) the old catalog to the default location on your main drive : menu catalog manager, 'move' button.
    The catalog folder will be moved to the default location (to be found by the help menu, system info).
    Perhaps this will make it accessible to the PSE11 conversion option.
    Note that sometimes in the 'conversion' dialog of PSE11 you have to check the option to 'show previously converted catalogs'.

  • Cant  convert catalog?

    Trying to convert Photoshop Starter Edition 3.2 to PSE8. Getting '...Catalog corrupted...try repairing with original program...'  Linked missing files in PSE and tried again. Same error. Will PSE* convert PSE3.2 catalogs and COLLECTIONS to PSE8?  Any suggestions on resolution of error?
    Thanks..

    Many people have problems converting catalog from early versions of PSE to PSE 8.  See this FAQ for troubleshooting conversion problems:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Problems_converting_catalo gs
    A successful conversion will transfer all the information in your catalog, including the collections (with the exception of some kinds of projects).

  • Problems converting catalog from PSE8 to PSE 12

    I've upgraded from PSE8 to PSE12.  I've just tried converting one of my 10 or so catalogs - all are stored in custom locations on an external drive, since the total file size for all my images is larger than my C: drive's capacity - with awful results:
    a.     there is now a copy of my folder structure and all files from the catalog in a folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs.  Not at all what I want, and if I convert the rest of my catalogs it will fail when C: drive becomes full.
    b.     my converted catalog has no ratings on any images.
    c.     my tags and tag heirarchy have disappeared.
    Each of these issues is completely unacceptable.  There are literally thousand of hours of work in all my catalogs, which I cannot repeat.  How can I convert my previous catalogs to PSE12 versions, retaining all ratings, tags and tag structure, and without duplicating every image file?
    Rob

    I had already tried optimizing the catalog, repariing the catalog, re-indexing visual simularity data and making sure there were no missing files.  Basically everything I found at: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/common-catalog-issues-upgrade-elements.html
    I also used the Mac OS X Disk Utility to make sure there were no disk errors.
    I have Parallels Desktop running on my Mac so I installed the Windows version of PSE12 and used it to convert the catalog of 63,000 pictures in under an hour.  That put the catalog in a new location so I just moved the catalog from the Windows location to the Mac location.  Now PSE12 on the Mac can access the new catalog and is working as expected.

    Please follow basic Netiquette and post the DDL we need to answer this. Follow industry and ANSI/ISO standards in your data. You should follow ISO-11179 rules for naming data elements. You should follow ISO-8601 rules for displaying temporal data. We need
    to know the data types, keys and constraints on the table. Avoid dialect in favor of ANSI/ISO Standard SQL. And you need to read and download the PDF for:
    https://www.simple-talk.com/books/sql-books/119-sql-code-smells/
    >> I need to select from a dynamic column name and save the result in a variable, but seem to be having trouble with the values being fed to sp_executesql <<
    This is so very, very wrong! A column is an attribute of an entity. The idea that you are so screwed up that you have no idea if you want
    the shoe size, the phone number or something else at run time of this entity.
    In Software Engineering we have a principle called cohesion that says a model should do one and only one task, have one and only one entry point, and one and only one exit point.
    Hey, on a scale from 1 to 10, what color is your favorite letter of the alphabet? Yes, your mindset is that level of sillyity and absurdity.
    Do you know that SQL is a declarative language? This family of languages does not use local variables!
    Now think about “month_val” and what it means. A month is a temporal unit of measurement, so this is as silly as saying “liter_val” in your code. Why did you use “sp_” on a procedure? It has special meaning in T-SQL.
    Think about how silly this is:
     SET @month_val = 'Month' + CAST(@month_nbr AS VARCHAR(2));
    We do not do display formatting in a query. This is a violation of at the tiered architecture principle. We have a presentation layer. But more than that, the INTERVAL temporal data type is a {year-month} and never just a month. This is fundamental.
    We need to see the DDL so we can re-write this mess. Want to fix it or not?

  • PSE9: Only 366 of really 56467 pics show in converted catalog?

    Problem: No conversion of PSE 7 catalog.
    Running Windows 7 on quadcore machine.
    Downloaded trial version of PSE9.
    Installed on my wife's machine.
    PSE 7 shows 56467 pics on 202 files.
    Started PSE9
    Opened Organizer
    Convert catalog.
    Conversion crashes with "insufficient memory" error.
    Investigation shows C: drive filled up, only 1 GB free.
    Free disk space on C: drive
    Uninstall PSE 9
    Restart
    Install PSE9 second time
    Start Organizer
    Convert catalog started again
    No crash
    Result: Only 366 (!!) pics
    Question: What happened to the other 56000 pictures?
    Installed PSE 9 on my machine. Converted PSE7 catalog. Everything runs o.k.
    BTW: Just found original CD(!!) of PSE 2.0! Looks like we are looooooong time users of PSE!
    Hope our Gurus (Guruines? - what is the politically correct description of female gurus?) have a solution!
    Regards,
    Alexander

    Hello Saurabh! Thanks for coming back to my problem.
    Here my replies to your questions:
    - The 56,000 pics database was always on my wife's machine (she is the price winning photographer). Her system runs under Vista, fully updated. The system always gets backed up to an external drive and runs well under PSE 7.
    - She skipped PSE8.
    - When I installed PSE9 (Trial Version) on her machine yesterday, the above mentioned problem started. I could not convert the DB to PSE. As a longtime user of PSE and computers, I guessed, as mentioned, that when I got the message of insufficient memory, that this was the problem that PSE7 did not convert to PSE9.
    I then re-installed.
    Please see my previous message for all the detail steps I made and had no luck.
    Yes, looked with File View.
    The number of files - 202 - stayed the same on both PSE9 installs.
    Right now I uninstalled the PSE9 Trial Version and really await help. I don't dare to continue on her machine!
    You mention to go to Find>By History>Imported and now please see my new message, titled "PSE9 tell me that it deletes all tags!" as this is a new grave problem, this time on my machine and I do not want to try it on my wife's as I get killed if she looses all her tags of 56,000 pictures!
    Sure hope to get help so my wife can use the new Editor's layer masks, etc.!!
    Thanks,
    Alexander

  • Error converting DOM nodes into SOAP nodes

    Hi,
    i am doing an http call using http binding activity in oracle soa suite 11g.The http call requires some header information.When I pass the header information through headers in invoke activity and invoke the http call,I get an error " Error converting DOM nodes into SOAP nodes".What might be the reason and how to solve it.
    Naresh

    Hello,
    It appears your code is trying to repeat messagePart itself. Split Joins strictly adheres to a WSDL definition for incoming and outgoing messages.
    Instead of repeating <RootElement> which is defined as single occurance in your message definition within WSDL, you should find a way to tweak the WSDL to have "repetitive node which will become single message after split" within 1 Root element.
    This will call for having need of implementing transformation within split join based on need of target input message. Below is the example:
    WSDL contains:
    <wsdl:message name="inputMessageName">
         <wsdl:part name="partInput" element="rootElement"/>
    </wsdl:message>
    What your current xml structure is(please note how message itself is repeating below while it has been defined as single in wsdl, unfortunately there is nothing maxOccurs for message in WSDL definition , although you can define multiple parts but that is not case here):
    <soap:Body>
    <rootElement>
    </rootElement>
    <rootElement>
    </rootElement>
    <rootElement>
    </rootElement>
    </soap:Body>
    What Split-Join expects(If you have existing wsdl then you need to tweak it to conform to below kind of structure then use transformation within split join to convert it into correct xml structure for outgoing):
    <soap:Body>
    <rootElement>
         <repetitiveElementSpecificToIndividualSplitRequest/>
         <repetitiveElementSpecificToIndividualSplitRequest/>
         <repetitiveElementSpecificToIndividualSplitRequest/>
    </rootElement>
    </soap:Body>
    I hope this helps.

  • Soa suite 12c fault policy invokeWS action enqueue action resolveAndrecover: error in fault resolution:java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use the new fault actions in Oracle SOA Suite 12c (12.1.3.0) invokeWS and enqueue.
    I've done the following:
    fault-policies.xml
    <faultName name="custom:MyFault" xmlns:custom="http://xmlns.oracle.com/Application1/Dummy/WebServiceB"
               path="SOA\WSDLs\dummybpelprocess_client_ep.wsdl">
        <condition>
            <action ref="default-enqueue"/>
        </condition>
    </faultName>
    <Action id="default-ws">
        <invokeWS uri="http://host:7003/soa-infra/services/default/WebServiceHandler/webservicehandlerbpel_client_ep?WSDL|webservicehandlerbpel_client_ep|WebServiceHandlerBPEL_pt"/>
        <!-- format - <Absolute wsdl path>|service name|port name -->
    </Action>
    <Action id="default-enqueue">
        <!-- enqueue uri="eis/aq/aqjmsuserDataSource"/ -->
        <enqueue uri="jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:1521:orcl#user/userpassword#USERQUEUE" />
        <!-- QueueURI format  - jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host>:<port>:<sid>#<un>/<pw>#queue -->
    </Action>
    Webservice Handler (which is the webservice to be invoked by the faultpolicy) is constructed 1-way pattern, 1 operation, 1 port and using the following schema:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
            targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/errorHandling"
            xmlns:tns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/errorHandling"
            elementFormDefault="qualified">

        <complexType name="RejectedMessageType">
            <sequence>
           <!-- base64 encoded strings" -->
              <element name="MessageHeader" type="string"/>
              <element name="MessagePayload" type="string"/>
              <element name="RejectionReason" type="string"/>
            </sequence>
          <attribute name="RejectionId" type="string"/>
        </complexType>
    </schema>
    The scenario is the following:
    Webservice A invokes WebService B
    Webservice B has defined a BusinessFault
    Webservice A has defined faultbindings using the faulpolicies from the previous snippet, for the reference of WebserviceB
    The BusinessFault is thrown by WebServiceB
    The fault policy is not able to neither enque or call the webservce to handle the businessexception
    A NullPointerException is shown in the logs
    The error is also present if enqueue os invokeWS are used in retryFailureAction of a retry action
    The error is only present for enqueue or invokeWS actions (I didn't try fileAction)
    Traditional actions (such as retry, humanintervention, temrinate) are working properly for businessfaults
    The error in logs is the following:

  • Unable to convert catalog from 10 to 12.

    I've just purchased Elements 12 and am trying to convert my Elements 10 catalog.  I have a brand new laptop running Windows 8.1 and a catalog of 16,000 photos.  I've been trying for several days to convert the catalog but the process continually fails. The conversion gets to 100% and then fails.  The logs say that the process fails because an older version of Elements is open and the catalog is in use.  I've tried rebooting and only opening Elements12, but it still fails.  I've used Task Manager to terminate Elements 10 and the other processes that are linked to Adobe, but nothing works. I've turned off Auto-Analyzer, People Recognition and Visual Search and that didn't work either. Does anyone have any other suggestions?  Thanks.

    I've tried killing AutoAnalyzer and i have uninstalled Elements 10, so there is no earlier version of the application to close. I've restarted many times and opened Elements 12 and tried to do the conversion before opening any other apps.  I did not see the FileAgent as a process running in Task Manager. Nothing seems to work.  Is it possible that there is a temp file somewhere that makes Elements think that the catalog is open even when it's not?
    (I just purchased version 12 through Costco on July 17, but have never used it because of the catalog issues.)
    Thanks,
    Melinda

    This error code is undefined. Undefined errors might occur for a number of reasons. For example, no one has provided a description for the code, or you might have wired a number that is not an error code to the error code input.
    Additionally, undefined error codes might occur because the error relates to a third-party object, such as the operating system or ActiveX. For these third-party errors, you might be able to obtain a description of the error by searching the Web for the error code (-2147352571) or for its hexadecimal representation (0x80020005).
    請幫忙解決, 是否不能用4071. (7.5 digits)
    NI PXI-4132 Calibration Procedure上面寫
    DMM :Agilent 3458A (or using at least 7.5 digits)
    4071應該解析度是ok.
    謝謝.

    Hi Peter,
    This error is being generated because Cal Exec is trying to set your DMM's resolution to 7.5 digits for a DC current measurement.  When taking DC current measurements, the resolution of the PXI-4071 can only be set to a maximum value of 6.5 digits.
    Do you have an Agilent 3458A (or equivalent) available to use for the verification process?

  • SOS: XAML binding Error: Converter failed to convert value of type '...' to to type '...'

    Hi, I'm working on a small Windows store App project using C# + XAML, and encountered a really weird problem with data binding in XAML. The error message is:
    Error: Converter failed to convert value of type 'Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' to type
    'ProgressableBase'; BindingExpression: Path='' DataItem='Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'; target element is 'MyControls.ProgressableViewControl' (Name='root'); target property is 'Progressable'
    (type 'ProgressableBase').
    Error: Converter failed to convert value of type 'Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' to type
    'IMatchWrapper'; BindingExpression: Path='' DataItem='Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'; target element is 'MyControls.MatchScoreControl' (Name='root'); target property is 'Match' (type 'IMatchWrapper').
    the XAML code snippet involved is:
    <local:MatchScoreControl Match="{Binding Converter={StaticResource TestConverter}}" />
    here:
    1) The type of the 'Match' property of 'MatchScoreControl' is 'IMatchWrapper', the type of the DataContext is 'MyMatch';
    2) 'MyMatch' is derived from 'ProgressableBase' and implemented
    'IMatchWrapper';
    3) below is the definition of 'MatchScoreControl' and its dependency property 'Match':
    public sealed partial class MatchScoreControl : UserControl
    public IMatchWrapper Match
    get { return (IMatchWrapper)GetValue(MatchProperty); }
    set { SetValue(MatchProperty, value); }
    public static readonly DependencyProperty MatchProperty =
    DependencyProperty.Register("Match", typeof(IMatchWrapper), typeof(MatchScoreControl), new PropertyMetadata(null, OnMatchPropertyChanged));
    private static void OnMatchPropertyChanged(DependencyObject d, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs e)
    // this line will never get called
    Debug.WriteLine(e.NewValue.GetType().FullName);
    } //more code...
    4) TestConverter is a dummy value converter(IValueConverter) which does nothing just to make sure the binding object and target type is as expected:
    public sealed class TestConverter : IValueConverter
    public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, string language)
    if (targetType != typeof(IMatchWrapper))
    throw new NotImplementedException("Error: targetType is not IMatchWrapper.....");
    if (!(value is IMatchWrapper))
    throw new NotImplementedException("Error: value is not IMatchWrapper...");
    return (IMatchWrapper)value;
    public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, string language)
    throw new NotImplementedException();
    When I run the app, none of the two exceptions in the TestConverter.Convert() is thrown, which is right and as expected. But the out window keeps throwing the error message as above. This is pretty weird!
    I've tried adding a parameterless constructor to the class 'MyMatch', but it doesn't work.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated!

    Good to know you have the solution and thanks for sharing the experience.
