Thanks in Advance guysThanks for posting the error log. Unfortunately, it doesn't tell us anything useful.
Yes, doing a system rollback can be an option, but not just yet.
The problem with games is that there is always the possibility that they overwrote system files used by other apps. Uninstalling those games would leave those system files missing. First try using the built-in MicroSoft System File Check utility:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
Run sfc with the /scannow option. It can take a while, so be patient. Even if it reports there were no files to be fixed, it really did, so reboot.

Looking for help-------"application failed to start because UID.mr.dll"
I've been having troubles with my Windows Vista PC recently and had to even system restore it just to be able to turn the computer on successfully, though it is still being buggy. However, I have been working these out and now all that remains is this error:
"PhotoshopElements.exe - Unable to Locate Component'>
This application has failed to start because UID.mr.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
I have tried re-installing and it has not fixed my problem. Is my install file corrupt or something? What can I do to get Photoshop Elements 2.0 up and running again?PSE2... on Vista... (First thing its not supported on Vista.. First PSE version supported on Vista is PSE5.0.1 and PSE7 is there in market)
Your installation completes successfully?
If yes what do you do and when do you get this error.
In the mean time I will try to get some info about the dll you mentioned.

App Server Fails to Start after Installation
Hi,
I've spent a whole day struggling with this, looking through forum discussions and trying out every single suggestion I've come across in the forums. I'm running out of ideas now and really appreciate any help I can get with this problem.
I'm trying to install SJSC2 (also tried with SJSC2u1 with the same outcome) on a new HP notebook (nw9440) running WinXP_sp2. I'm using the default installation done by HP.
My installation path is C:\Java\SunCreator2 (C:\Java\SunCreator2_1 for update 1).
After the installation the App server fails to start up and gives the below error in the server.log.

I've tried every workaround I've seen in the forums such as installing under different paths (both with spaces and without spaces), cleaning all the temporary files in the Temp directory, renaming the productregistry in the windows system directory. Each time I get the exact same error in the install.log.
I also tried installing the stand alone SUN App Server 8.1_02_2005Q2 as well as 8.2. I don't seem to have any issue with this installation or running of the stand alone server at all on the same machine.
Really appreciate any help I can get. TIA....
rgds,
KCHi,
After spending more time looking through the forum, I came across the below thread which has worked in my case (though it was suggested for Sol10x86).
http://forum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=62404&messageID=243113
This is the workaround that worked in my case.
> $ cd <Creator_Home>/SunAppServer8/lib
$ mv processLauncher.xml processLauncher.xml.trayIcon
$ cp processLauncher.xml.bak processLauncher.xml
# If you have a domains/creator/config/domain.xml
$ cd ../bin
$ ./asadmin start-domain creator
This started the app server. After that I was able to start and stop app server within the JSC as well.
Only difference between these two xml files seem to be,
processLauncher.xml.trayicon
<main_class classname="com.sun.rave.tray.RavePEMain"/>
processLauncher.xml
<main_class classname="com.sun.enterprise.server.PEMain"/>
Possibly pointing to a bug in the "com.sun.rave.tray.RavePEMain" class.
Thanks for your suggestions guys... and especially to Marco and Greg.
Rgds,
Kc

PC Suite fails to start - 'ConnAPI.DLL was not fou...
I'm running Windows Vista and PC Suite version 7.0.8.2 fails to open up due to the following message: 'This application has failed to start because ConAPI.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.'. I have re-installed several times and the same error message occurs. This started happening after I installed some other software but I'm not sure which, as I am building my new laptop and am installing a lot of software. It might have been Quicken 2008 but I'm not sure. A Google search for this issue reveals that possibly Adobe software might be the culprit. I do have Adobe Photoshop Elements and I did move the NokiaManager.mox file out of that product as recommended by others, but this didn't fix the problem. I also uninstalled 'PC Connectivity Solution' in order to try to fix the issue, since that software contained ConnAPI.dll (which I presume is also from Nokia and I'm not sure what installed that.) After uninstalling PC Connectivity Solution and reinstalling Nokia PC Suite, I got the same error. This time, I believe ConnAPI.dll is not on my system and clearly Nokia PC Suite did not install it even though it requires it!
I could switch to some other connectivity software but I have Lotus Organizer and want to sync. with that and I don't believe anything else syncs with Lotus Organizer these days.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what is the solution?
Thanks in advance.Here is the solution. BUT It does not work for windows 7 I did not find solution form Nokia!!!! ???? Basszák meg! Connapi.dll is a connectivity application programming interface (API) developed and used by Nokia for their PC connectivity solutions. The most common usage of connapi.dll is through the Nokia PC Suite software. Although this dll file is not a critical system component, if you are using phone-computer connectivity on a regular basis, you should avoid messing with connapi.dll. You can find the file online if you delete or damage it by accident, but the possibility of a corrupt or infected download is likely as you are never too sure of the quality of a dll file download. Most non-system dll file names are used by virus authors to create trojans and worms, Errors occurring in relation to the connapi.dll file are usually because of disabling, missing or damaging the particular file. The most common errors and solutions are discussed below. 1) “ConnAPI.dll not found. Try reinstalling the application” Uninstall all Nokia software, especially “PC Connectivity Solution” - the problem is caused because of it. Then, reinstall Nokia PC Suite and everything will be all right. 2) “ConnAPI.dll is not a valid windows image” Connapi.dll is not a standard Windows file, so this error should actually be ignored. If the message persists, simply delete the file, uninstall all Nokia software, and reinstall a fresh, updated version. 3) “Connapi.dll is missing and the program cannot run” The reason for this error is that you have uninstalled Nokia software from your computer, but the system still recognizes it as existing. Go to - Start > Run >type msconfig > Startup Tab – and remove any references to Nokia software. Reboot the system. For repairing the connapi.dll file, always visit the Nokia web site, obtain the latest PC Suite version, and do a fresh installation in your computer. It is best and safest way to keep your registry and system problem free.

Network: Unknown / The dependency service or group failed to start
Hello, MicroSoft tech crew. I know my issue is not something new to you, there are earlier posts with similar to identical problems to mine. For a whole day I tried everything I could find on the internet to fix my issue, but nothing seemed to work.
I cannot connect to the internet. My network and sharing center displays the following, instead of the map:
Unknown
The dependency service or group failed to start.
I am running windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
I used ESET NOD32 as antivirus. I uninstalled it the day this issue appeared.
I have no restore point.
Any other computer or device can successfully connect to my router.
Re-installing a fresh copy of windows is not an option.
These are the solutions I tried and didn't work:
I tried restarting the router (1 minute power-off)
I HAVE reinstalled my drivers for both LAN and WAN network cards at least twice each.
~ I ran the following commands in CMD as administrator over 3 times, successfully, followed by reboot:
* sfc /scannow
* netsh winsock reset // netsh winsock reset catalog
* netsh int ip reset // netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
I have checked the following in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servicel\NlaSvc has always had full control and read permissions for both SYSTEM and Administrators.
I replaced my nlasvc.dll file from C:\Windows\System32\ with one from another computer (and set TrustedInstaller as its owner)
Booting in Safe mode with networking does not change this situation.
These are some of my services. Note that I turned some of those from Manual to Automatic.
1) COM+ Event System
* Automatic, Started
2) Computer browser
* Automatic, Started
3) DHCP Client
* Automatic, Stopped
* When I attempt to start this service I get this error message:
"Windows could not start the DHCP Client Service on Local Computer."
"Error 1186: Element not found."
* Dependencies:
3.1) Network Store Interface Service
* Automatic, Started
4) DNS Client
* Automatic, started
5) Network Connections
* Automatic, Started
6) Network Location Awareness
* Automatic, Stopped
* When I attempt to start this service I get this error message:
"Windows could not start the Network Location Awareness service on Local Computer."
"Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start"
* Dependencies:
6.1) Network Store Interface Service
* Automatic, Started
6.2) Remote Procedure Call (and all it depends on)
* Automatic, Started
7) Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
* As stated above: Automatic, Started
8) Server
* Automatic, Stopped
* When I attempt to start this service I get this error message:
"Windows could not start the Server service on Local Computer."
"Error 50: The request is not supported."
* Dependencies:
8.1) Security Accounts Manager (and the RPC)
* Automatic, Started
9) TCP/IP Netbios helper
* Automatic, Started
10) Wireless Zero Configuration (XP)
* Nonexistent
11) WLAN AutoConfig
* Automatic, Started
12) Workstation
* Automatic, Started
Also, my ipconfig /all looks very strange. I am not allowed to post pictures yet, but this is the image on skydrive server:
/#cid=2168FA597AC0EAF1&id=2168FA597AC0EAF1%21107I follow your solution and found the
Network Location Awareness service
could not start.
Then I found the solution from:
http://mjmcfalls.wordpress.com/2012/04/07/network-location-awareness-service-terminated-with-service-specific-error-1073741288/
by running the commands:
net localgroup administrators localservice /add
net localgroup administrators networkservice /add
to add the "Localservice" user and "NetworkService" user
to the adminstrators group.
And the problem solved after reboot. -
I have installed Photoshop Elements 3.0 from original disk on my MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.6.8. The installation was successful. However, when I try to run Photoshop Elements, it does not start, with the message "Could not complete your request because of missing or invalid personalization information". I uninstalled Adobe Elements and deleted all Adobe files from both the System Library Preferences and from the User Library Preference. Then tried the installation again. The installation was successful, but the application fails to start with the same missing/invalid-personalization-information message.
Please adviseI am sorry Invalid Personalization but Photoshop Elements 3.0 requires a PowerPC processor or Rosetta installed in order to function. You can find the system requirements at System requirements | Adobe Photoshop Elements.
You may want to try following the steps listed at Mac OS X 10.6: If you need to install Rosetta to attempt to install Rosetta. That may still not resolve your licensing issue however as the application was also designed for Mac OS 10.2.8 and 10.3. -
Desktop Manager fails to start
I just installed DM6, but it always fails to start.
Everytime when I start DM6 it displays a dialog box saying "BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I am using Windos XP SP3. Please help.

http://troubleshooot.wordpress.com/2010/05/26/essbase-login-is-not-working/
To my ignorant eyes, this looks like some kind of *nix-centric issue.
If the post doesn't help, perhaps one of the infrastructure guys will chime in.

Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager fails to start due to Java Heap
Hello All,
I just installed Wily Introscope for the first time. I have successfully installed it from the log below:
Summary
Installation: Successfulwith errors.
396 Successes
0 Warnings
1 NonFatalErrors
0 FatalErrors
I also confirm that the Introscope Enterprise Manager is started as a service.
However, when i try to launch enterprise by following the path All Programs > CA Wily > Introscope 8.2.3.5 > Introscope Enterprise Manager....
I get the error below:
3/29/11 07:11:46 PM PDT [ERROR] [Manager.Bootstrap] Load all Management Modules FAILED.
3/29/11 07:11:46 PM PDT [ERROR] [Manager] The EM failed to start. Java heap space
I have also adapted my Java Heap from 512 to 1024 in EMService.conf file but I still get same error. This was the recommendation in this related forum post - Wily Introscope - EM failed to start
Please help!!!!Hello,
Like I said, I have increased the value to 1024MB and still not starting.

HelloWeb application fails to start
I built the "HelloWeb" demo and the Deployment Progress Monitor started, but after a while (it displayed about 80% done) the message "Failed to start server Server J2EESDK Instance Deployer..." got displayed.
Thanks for the suggestion. Although the FAQ didn't help, looking at the server log did, although it still doesn't explain the problem. I got 16 MB of messages in a few seconds, starting off with the following:

Error 1920. Service 'Windows Font Cache Service' (FontCache) failed to start
Hi,

I have tried everything I can think of, and everything on every thread I've found on related topics. No luck. If I try to start the service myself via services.msc I get the following message:
The Windows Font Cache Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some Services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!Hi micrey! It works!
1. Type “services.msc” into the Start Search
bar and hit Enter.
2. Find the Windows Font Cache Service, select
it and hit “Stop”.
3. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to “C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local”
requires admin privileges
4. Delete the FontCache dat files. (They will
be regenerated over time.)
5. Restart the Windows Font Cache Service.
Thank you! -
