Elements 3.0 help

I had Elements 3.0 installed on my home computer. My computer crashed and everything had to be re-installed. I can not put my hands on the disc for 3.0 but I do have my serial number. I downloaded PSE 10.0 and every time I try to use it, it shuts down. I found that I only had 512MB of RAM so I upgraded to 2.5 gig. It still crashes!! I get the following Windows error. Elements 10 Organizer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you where in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous. That's going to be a ridiculous waste of money and energy.
First of all, the current ATI drivers don't support multiple GPUs, so at the moment even a single 4870X2 would be only a 'normal' 4870 (which is quite a speed beast already). GFX drivers evolve rapidly, so things might look different next month, but when it comes to Linux and hardware there's one Golden Rule: stay away from the newest stuff and wait for proper support to get coded.
I also wonder what power supply could possibly cope with the differences between idle and full load; that's way beyond 400W. But then, I'm one of those "quiet&green" types where >100W idle is already a bit much.
I kind of understand that you want to get it done and not worry about hardware for the next 10 years or so, but that's simply not how the hardware world works and never did. At least not for the average consumer.

PhotoShop Elements 5.0 Help file

Greetings: I am not able to access help from the HELP file in PhotoShop Elements 5.0. Message says I need file ahc.exe and suggests that I browse for it. If I search for it on the Internet, all I see are offers of help which require me to signup and pay for this file. Recommendations? Happy Holidays,

The help application for pse 5 should be in:
(if you open the folder you should see the ahc.exe)

I have a page cover I'm trying to design. Started it a few weeks ago maybe.
1. How can I get all the layers to show in the edit column so I can alter them?
2. Why don't they unlock if you press the lock, or anything else for that matter! ?
3. I even tried to start over again out of frustration but the new page shows up checkered. How do I get a blank white page?
Thank you! I wish whoever developed this made it more coherent and user friendly! It's so darn frustrating, you get to hate it and regret ever buying it. It's like the developer was not only a foreigner but from a different planet - someone who didn't understand the human brain or how to make something user friendly.
Sorry for my rant. It's just so frustrating trying to get anything at all done without an Elements 9 advanced degree or phd. It's just not user friendly! And by all means something as UN user-friendly as this should come with a manual.

I split this into a new thread since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the editor busy error.
1. If there are layers they will show in the layers panel. If you saved in a format that doesn't allow you to have layers, like jpg, you don't have any layers anymore, which is why you can't see them. Likewise, if you merged or flattened your layers, they're history.
2. The lock doesn't work the kind of magic you want. (It would be nice.) The lock merely prevents certain kinds of edits from happening to the layer in question. It doesn't mean that many layers are locked into one.
3. Checkerboard means transparent, so that area is blank when you put on another image. It doeoesn't mean you have a checkered background. If you want a solid white background, use the pulldown menu to choose that:

My adobe photoshop element 11 has been working great since I have installed for awhile now....all of a sudden one day...when I used the day before with no problems....it wont open now....gives me a runtime error and wants to shutdown....what is this ...and how do I fix ????

.jpg extension in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 please help

I am currently using Photoshop
Elements 7. When I went to save a photo, the .jpg extension has been dropped in the save as
dialog box. The only option I have is JPG 2000. I have installed the most recent update to Adobe. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the software and the extension is still not there. I have gone to the patch area, reviewed the forums, and can not find a fix. Is there a place in photoshop where I could have turned off the option? Or is there a patch/update I have not seen? Thank you in advance for the help!

What type of file is your source file? Make sure it's no more than 8 bit.
If using layers e.g. to add adjustments or text you fist need to click layers > Flatten Image and then save.
It’s possible the image is just too big - try to re-size.

Unable to download Adobe Photoshop Elements 13, please help?

Hi,
I am unable to download Photoshop 13. I have bought it and have an activation code but the download just isn't happening.
It starts to run, so I click 'Open/Run' when it appears on the bottom downloads bar, then nothing happens.
Even when I go in the downloads folder on my pc and select the download itself in there, nothing happens.
I have plenty of memory on my laptop as most of my stuff is on my external hardrive.
Norton antivirus keeps telling me it is safe so it isn't being blocked by an antivirus program.
I am really confused, please help.

I can not open raw files in elements 12 any help please?

I can not open raw files from my Nikon D610 in elements 12. (I have already downloaded raw converter 8.3 but to no avail) any help please would be appreciated.

Can you confirm which Camera Raw PSE 12 is actually using by loading the editor and going to Help -> About Plug-in -> Camera Raw.
If you do Help -> Updates it may install the latest camera raw of 8.4 - not on XP or Vista systems.
Do you use any Nikon software to download the images? The older versions have been known to corrupt the files.

Photoshop Elements 2.0 Help Please!

I just installed Photoshop Elements 2.0 and when I go to open it I get an error message saying that the program "Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the scratch disks are full. This is definately NOT because of my computer's processing power, which runs off of XP has 3 Gigs of ram a 1.5TB hard drive (for my C: drive) and runs off of a 3.2 GHz microprocessor (so it's fairly speedy). I used to have photoshop on my old drive, now my backup (D:) drive, but I recently uninstalledit and reinstalled the program, using the disc, onto my new drive. I've tried cleaning up (using CCleaner) and defragmenting my drive, but nothing seems to work. Please help me out here.

P.S. I don't know if this is an occuring problem on any of the other editions of Elements, but if it is, I'm sure it can probably be solved in the same way, so even if you don't have the 2.0 edition, any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Elements 2 is a very old program but you need to ask in the Elements forum.

Elements V4.0 HELP doesn't work

I'm using Windows XP with a ton of RAM and a ton of hard drive space available.
Having used Elements V2, I downloaded and installed the V4.0 TRYBUY. The installation seemed to work fine. However, the "Help option" in Elements V4.0 would not work. It's kind of hard to learn a new version without a manual or online HELP files!
I searched the Knowledgebase and forum messages for help on how to get HELP with the new V4.0. I DID find Knowledgebase Document 330621 that seemed to be applicable. However, "Allowing blocked content" in IE did NOT help. I then received error message "ahc.exe not found." I then searched the downloaded file TRYBUY for the HELP PDF file, but alas no such file was included in the TRYBUY download!
I have now uninstalled Elements V4.0. It seems I can't ask Adobe for help since I have to register Elements 4.0 before I can contact them - but wait, I don't want to buy and register before trying it out!
I'm willing to once again download TRYBUY and install again - buy first I'd like confirmation from someone that the online HELP function will work before doing so. Otherewise it is a waste of my time.

Failing to disable Anti-Virus during installation has caused many seemingly good installations to have problems.
If you don't find another solution I would strongly recommend that you uninstall, track down and delete every left over folder, disable everything running in the notification area (systray) except the clock and reinstall.
I don't have 4.0 but the stray folders in 3 are C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements and C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 3.0.

Photoshop elements 10 install help

I recently bought Photoshop elements 10. I have tried installing on my desktop and it won't read it and is treating the disc as if it were blank. I put the cd in my laptop and my laptop ran it fine and was allowing me to install. I have deleted and updated everything adobe to see if this is the issue. If anyone could give me some help it would be appreciated

Copying the files from "program files" won't help. You need to copy the installer files from the cd.
As pointed out by 99jon, follow the procedure:
Go to "My computer" of your desktop and choose to view the content of the cd after putting the disc in
copy everything in the disc to a thumb drive
insert the thumb drive into your laptop and run the file "setup.exe" from your thumb drive. It should install the PSE10 to your laptop.
If you can not follow the above process, you can download the PSE10 instalation files from http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l on your laptop and install. Just a word of caution, the installer is huge(1.5 Gb). So it would take a while to get downloaded

Change data element in search help

Hi at all,
how can i change the data elemte of an parameter in the search help?
The selektion method of the search help is a view and the data element comes from the DB.
Maybe it is possible to change the length of the parameter in the result list? That would help, too!

Is it helpful? In search help show full name, but in parameter, only 8 first chars. Is it what you want to do?

The layers - which are clearly separate in photoshop - are compressed in elements, thus unable to edit.

Adobe Elements 11 Failure, Help?!

My Adobe Premiere Elements 11 will not open, when I click on the program there is no error message and nothing pops up, I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the program 3 times and I'm out of ideas...Need help!

Welcome to the forum.
As John T. asks in his reply, the video driver is probably the main cause for PrE not launching. It is not the ONLY cause, but probably easily #1.
I would manually check with the nVidia, or AMD/ATI Web site, to see if you have the latest video driver. If not, then download it, install it, and test. I would not rely on Windows, or any driver utility, to tell me if I have the latest version - just go to the mfgr's. Web site, plug in your card's model, and your OS, and check the latest driver version against what you have installed.
That is for a PC, as Mac's should update the video drivers, when one does an OS update.
