Elements 3 Not Opening.

I am using photoshop elements 3 on windows vista.I got it from a bundle CD from a tablet.It worked for awhile, but now it doesn't open.It loads to 'Reading Text Global Resources....Done' and then it stops loading.When I open it from the desktop icon, and use Start From Scratch or Full Edit, it will eventually tell me the  program failed to open, but when I try to open a image with it, it just stays there until I click the window a couple times and it stops responding.Thanks

Have you reset your preference file yet? Uninstall/reinstall will not fix corrupt preferences as they are stored out side of the program. 
The New doc sizes preference might be corrupt.
You could either delete the New Doc Sizes.psp file or go ahead and delete all the preferences.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements does not open after installation

    Hello,
    I have written before last week. I have bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Elements 11.
    I had a trial version of Photoshop Elements 11 and with the code I could access the full version.
    However Premiere Elements did not open after installation. I did not had a trial version so I first downloaded the full program. I went through the whole installation process and everything seemed ok, no error messages. But when I tried to open Adobe Premiere Elements after restarting the computer it did not open at all. Nothing happened.
    I have de-installed and re-installed the program for a couple of times over and over again but with not result. Also tried to download the trial version first and also this didn't work. I checked my Quicktime and updated to the latest version.
    I use a Windows laptop: Asus Intel Core i5-2430M, 2,4 GHz
    I hope you can help me out!

    Yes I saw it but PSE (refers to Photo Shop Elements??) and I have trouble with Premiere Elements..(so the video program)
    The Photoshop Elements worked.
    I am not sure what to do here also the link at your reply "working with your operation system tools" didn't work..(got the "broken link error")

    PS Elements 10 preinstalled on my new computer with Windows 8. It worked fine for a week, now opens once, then won't open again, or doesn't open at all. Adobe gives no support to fix this (they told me to research the answer on their site), yet their info says PS 10 and Windows 8 are compatible. Automatic troubleshooter gives non-compatibility message. Can this be fixed? Have spent many hours trying to figure this out. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing works so far.

I used an older version of PS Elements for years on my old computer (Windows XP), and never had a problem launching or closing the software. This problem came about on a new computer with PS Elements 10 and Windows 8. No other versions of PS Elements were installed on the new computer, nor were any settings brought over from the old computer. Again, thanks for your input. Will keep your suggestion in mind for any future troubles with Adobe products.

    Make sure your user account has full administrative permissions.  Then, at this stage of the game, I would take the following steps:
    - Re-create the Preferences file following these instructions:
    Re-create the Photoshop Elements preferences file to eliminate problems that a damaged preferences file might cause.
    Note: When you use this solution, Photoshop Elements will create a new preferences file and you will lose custom settings associated with your current preferences file. However, the file you rename in step 2 is your original preferences file. If you determine that the preferences file is not causing the problem, then you can restore your custom settings by undoing the instructions below.
    To re-create the Photoshop Elements preferences file:
    Quit Photoshop Elements.
    Locate the Adobe Photoshop Elements preferences files. In Photoshop Elements 5.0, there are two preferences files, one for Organizer and one for Editor:
    Users\[ user ]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Organizer\psa.prf
    Users\[ user ]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Editor\Photoshop Elements 5 Prefs.psp
    Rename the extension for the files (for example, to psa.old).
    Start Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements creates a new preferences file.
    I doubt that this will fix your problem, however, it is always the first thing to try.  If it does not, take these steps:
    - Uninstall Photoshop Elements
    - Run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301)
    - Reinstall Elements
    - Reinstall the 5.0.2 patch

    Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
    Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
    Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
    On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
    Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  9\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
    Now launch PSE and check if it works.
    Solution 5: Try with admin account or right click and select run as admin. or try directly from .exe

  • WebDynpro editor issue: Clicking on UI element does not open up defn in UI tree

    Hello,
    We are facing a strange issue with webdynpro editor on one of our SAP Landscape. In change mode when i double click on an UI element in webdynpro layout editor( SE80) the corresponding UI element definition does not open up in the left hand side ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER tree. This functionality works in our ERP system which is on a lower service pack.
    I recently discussed this problem with an onsite trainer ( from  SAP ) who suggested this feature was taken away in NW Ehp 7.3 onwards to avoid some javascript error in the webdypro layout editor. Can someone confirm this? I have already tried searching servicemarketplace without success. If this feature has been removed i dont want to waste time creating OSS note.

    We're experiencing the same behaviour since a couple of weeks. Did you already create a message to SAP ? If so I'll wait for you to post the feedback from SAP in answer to this message. If not I'll create one because it becomes hard finding your way in the navigation tree for large views...

  • Photoshop Elements 6 not opening jpegs following adjustment.

    I am getting the following error message: Photoshop Elements could not complete your request because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete).
    This error message has occured with images that I have imported and renamed in Bridge and to which I have made adjustments in Photoshop Elements 6.  The images which I have renamed but not resized or adjusted or touched in any way are opening without a problem. Whatever the problem it is doesn't seem to be anything to do with re-naming. This problem has occured previously but because it involved only a small number of files I just re-did them and the problem did not re-occur. On this occasion it's 40+ files so it's time to find out the cause if possible. Help would be appreciated. Thanks - Victor

    Your computer may have insufficient RAM. When adding text you are temporarily increasing the file size by adding a new Layer (the text layer) which requires more memory.
    Try this:
    Add your text, then click Layer >>Flatten image. Then save and press Ctrl+W to close the file. Then move to your next open file and repeat.

    My photoshop elements 10 and my phoposhop CS3 will not open at all they go to a black screen.Three days ago it opened. before that it had not opened for several days. Before the problem with it not opening, it would not load photos to edit them. I have tryed to look at the compatability, etc.
    I am afraid to delete and reinstall. When I look in my photos I do not see the photos that I have edited. HELP

    Start PSE to get to the Welcome screen.
    Hold down the Ctrl + Shift keys and click Organizer. Keep holding down the keys until you see the Catalog window.
    Select your catalog and click Repair.  Select “repair anyway” even if PSE doesn’t find problems.
    Then for good measure, click Optimize.
    If repairing resolves your issue then fine else repeat the above steps, but click New to create a new catalog.  If you’re able to import photos into the new catalog and the Organizer works fine, then problem can be old catalog.
    Check for Task Manager and end the "ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe" file and then try.
    - Try launching Organizer directly from the exe with Admin rights.

  • Elements will not open

    I purchased elements 11 in January and installed it on a PC. I then deactivated it and uninstalled it two days ago and was finally able to reinstall it successfully (after several attempts) yesterday on a new mac. Last night I could see the icon on my desktop and I was able to open it. This morning the icon was gone and I could not open the product. It kept telling me to install it although I could see the download from last night.

    Did you actually start the installation from the dmg file you downloaded?
    You can check whether the application installed correctly by launching Finder and going to:
    Applications >> Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 >> Support Files
    You should be able to see the Editor Application (see image - click to enlarge).

    Installed Adobe Elements last night and installed the Raw Converter 7.4.  Everything worked fine yesterday. Today it will not open the raw files. Uninstalled and reinstalled, same problem!

    Are these the same raw files or different ones?
    If using Nikon Transfer or other Nikon software ensure you have installed the version for your camera model as older versions of Nikon software can corrupt the latest NEF’s.
    Try testing by shooting a few new raw images and opening directly into Elements, without touching them.
    Also check that ACR 7.4 is properly installed, from Expert Mode.
    Help >> About Plug-in >> Camera Raw.
    Press Esc to close the pop-up.

  • Have elements 7 downloaded on my computer.  Tried to download lightroom 5 64-bit but it wouldn't download because I have Vista and not 7.  Now my elements will not open.  I click on it but nothing happens.  Any suggestions.

    Try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

  • How can I contact adobe? Elements will not open and it tells me to contact adobe, but I can find no successful way to do so

    I cannot open elements.  I get a message to restart my computer and if this doesn't work to contact adobe.  Numerous restarts have not worked and I have been trying for 3 days to reach Adobe with no luck.  I cannot get through online and when calling the customer support phone number, I spent 2 1/2 hours listening to music on hold and gave up without ever hearing a human voice.  This is ridiculous!  Can anyone help?  I really need to be able to use the software.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 not opening after agreeing to end user license agreement?

    So like the title suggests, when I try to open Photoshop Elements 8, an End User License Agreement pops up for me.  This happened just recently and in the years I've used the software it has never, ever done this to me, so I was kind of surprised when it popped up.  I click accept to proceed, but after I click accept, it doesn't do anything at all.  No matter how many times I try opening it, no matter how many times I try to only open the editor first and not the organizer or run as administrator, nothing seems to work.  I really don't understand why this is happening and what I should do.  I know reinstalling is an option, but I no longer have the installation disc so I would like to try other methods of fixing this if possible.
