Elements 4.0 "Active Camera"

I've got Premiere Elements 4.0 and I'm wanting to use the active camera effect, but when i apply it to a clip nothing happens. It doesn't change the clip in the preview. I can adjust all the properties like rate and stuff, but it doesn't do anything. I thought It might be a problem with the preview so i saved a sample and nothing. It doesn't move at all like i want it to. I check the other motion effects and none of them seem to have any effect on my clip. All other effects work fine. Anyone have any suggestion?

I don't have version 4 installed, but I do have version 7.
You wouldn't be trying to apply the effect to a still image, would you? I don't think it will do much with stills. You might try exporting the still to a DV-AVI file, or whatever might work, and then try using the DV-AVI with the Active Camera effect.
Other then that, the effect can make your video look like there's an earthquake or something.

Snap position object in front of active camera

I cannot find this function so please let me know if I am just missing it - but it has occurred to me that it would be very handy to have the ability to align any given opblect in front of the currently active camera.
If a camera Moves throughout a scene and you suddenly want to duplicate an element that is elsewhere in a scene, if you duplicate it, it s duplicated in place. Is there a way to "snap position" an object existing in a scene in front of a camera?

Why would I first need to set the origin of the camera to the center of the scene before cutting if the camera i want the object in front of it elsewhere in the scene.
You don't have to reset the camera, just the duplicated object. If you reset the camera, you'd loose any animation settings you might have.
Am I to understand that Motion 5 just defaults to placing a cut and pasted object in front of a camera only if it's transforms are reset? That seems kind of arbitrary.
I don't know that it's arbitrary, it seems to be related to this (from the motion documentation):
Drag and Drop onto the Canvas
Dragging and dropping an object onto the Canvas adds the object to the scene at the focal plane of the current camera. Dragging an object into the Layers list or clicking the Apply button in the preview area of the File Browser positions the object at 0, 0, 0.
Basically, depending on how you add objects, motion determines where to place them in the scene. This seems to be the case for copy and paste too. Copy and paste includes all of the transformations already applied to the object. The paste treats your camera focal plane like the origin for the scene, but your object has it's own transforms, that's how it gets offset from the camera focal plane. Resetting the object to the origin removes those settings and works like using the apply button mentioned in the documentation.
Here's an example to show what I'm talking about.
1.Add a camera and rotate it, make sure you can see the origin for the grid.
2. Add a shape from the library using the apply button in the inspector.
-The shape gets added at the origin, not at the camera view.
3. Reposition the camera, make sure to change the position and rotation.
4. Add the shape but this time drag and drop to the canvas.
-Notice how the shape is at the focal plane of the camera. If you look at it's settings they match what is needed to position the object at the camera's focal plane.
5. Reposition the camera one more time.
6. Now Copy and past each object while in the active camera view.
-When you copy and past the object at the origin, it's pasted at the focal plane because it doesn't have any transforms.
-When you copy and paste that was added from the drag and drop, it's offset, it's transforms have been added to the camera focal plane transformation.

Just sounds the ding, alert, can still slightly navigate the program but can not use any other tools after clicking warp text. I just have to open task manager and close the program. not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe I just need to uninstall and re install. Having trouble finding out how to uninstall and reinstall because the program came pre installed on my desktop.

It actually sounds like the warp text window is opening off screen.
Resetting the photoshop elements 10 preferences should fix it.
*Press and hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after you start the launch of the photoshop elements 10 editor
*Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop elements setting file
*Press Yes

What is a raw file?
A raw file is the unprocessed light data that was captured by your camera sensor. The only settings on your camera that apply to this file are aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. This means that any settings you may have applied to the file, such as white balance, or black and white effects, have no effect. Because this sensor data is raw, it must be processed or baked into an actual image file, that's where the Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plug-in comes in.
What is Adobe Camera Raw?
ACR interprets the raw data and makes image information out of it. But every camera has a unique sensor and thus has a unique form of raw file. Even though camera manufactures may use the same file extension each time (e.g. Nikon raw files are always .NEF), each camera model has a different way of storing information. Because of this, we must continually update ACR for new cameras. As we add new cameras to the list (over 300 now) we update our published list of supported cameras. Additionally, with the changes to ACR, newer releases will not always be compatible with older versions of Photoshop Elements.
So, will the my raw files work with Photoshop Elements?
So if you are wondering if your camera is supported by ACR or will work in Photoshop Elements, first check this list:

What if my camera is not compatible with my version of Photoshop Elements?
Supposing you have a camera that came out after the release of a newer version of Photoshop Elements, so that your version of Elements is no longer recieving updates, you have two basic options:
Purchase the latest version of Photoshop Elements that supports your camera.
Use the latest version of the free DNG Converter (for Macintosh or Windows)
You can convert your files to the universaly compatible DNG format (the files will work with any version of the Camera Raw plug-in). See In depth : Digital Negative (DNG) for more information.

What kind of PDF file it is?
Try uninstalling the app once and they try to reinstall .

Have you tried installing the Microsoft's codec pack for Windows 7? If not it is worth a try:

Microsoft releases updates for its codec packs every 6 months so it is a good idea to get them.

Is elements 8 compatable with camera raw 6.3

i have a nikon d3100 and i use elements 8 which has camera raw 6.2 and i need camera raw 6.3 but ive heard its not compatable with elements 8, does this mean that the only option i have is to buy elements 9 or 10. cheers

You have two alternatives:
(1) Upgrade to PSE 10. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your NEF files to the Adobe Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your original NEF’s as backups and for use in Nikon software)

It sounds like you aren't in Expert Mode. Click the word Expert at the top of the PSE window to go there.
For burn and dodge, click the Sponge tool and you'll see those tools in the tool options at the bottom of the screen:

in the multicam monitor.
And a litte bit of an aside here:
I searched the forum on `red frame multicam', `red multicam', and finally just `red'. But found no help on this question.
I wonder why one cannot get to the `advanced' search tools, without first trying the plain search... which appearantly searches all forums.
Then once you've gotten to the advanced search there is the nasty nightmare list to choose which forum to search from. It appears to be in no known order and is impossible to search with the page search tool (Ctrl-f). Really a bad setup. And even then still didn't find an answer.

Elements 11 Install/Activation

Hello,
I recently changed computers. I deactivated and uninstalled photshop elements from the old computer. When trying to install elements on my new computer, the redemption code ( when prompted to enter) did not work. As of now, I already have elements installed and active on one computer. How can I install elements on my new computer?

You only use a redemption code once, to obtain a serial number, which you enter into PSE. If you already had PSE installed, go to the main page of adobe.com and look for My Adobe (usually up under the search box on the upper right of the page). Work your way through the links there and hopefully you'll find your serial number. Write it down so you'll have it in the future.

Want to change the cost element for a activity type (KP26)

Hi,
I want to change the Allocation cost element for an activity type in KP26. I have already changed the cost element in the activity master data in KL02. Now i want to change it in KP26. I am trying to delete the existing line item in KP26 to create the new line item with the new cost element, but system not allowing to delete the existing one. It throws the error message ""Allocations with XXXXXXX/XXXX (Cost center/Activity type) exist ; deletion not possible". Can someone please help me to change the cost element?

Thanx for you people for helping me. i havin gone doubt here. If i am deleting the existing line in KP26 and create new line with appropriage cost element will it be cause the existing datas? I don't want to go for another activity type, because our process is a complex process exist all over the world in more than 300 company codes. So i want to use the existing activity type but want to change the allocation cost element alone. Is there any possibility to change the cost element alone?

Help Can't render with active camera

When I render a video with the active camera, all I see is the whole canvas, instead what the camera should see. What am I doing wrong? Did I set the camera incorrectly or something?

Never mind, I just found it was a problem with the scale and not the camera itself.

Custom view and active camera

i am having a block with this...
How can you make what you have set up in 3D to happen in the comp using your custom view actually happen in the active camera view??

I do not know. You just start experimenting. But check the online help system first, look for everything you can find on the ortho views and custom views. The immediate issue with trying to position the camera manually is mimicking the lens and zoom parameters. The custom views do not have any lens characteristics.
Looking at the fist custom view, it look like a simple 45 degrees out and 45 degrees up. Those are going to be geometric calculations, easily performed based on pixels. You could us e a null object in the center of your comp and use it as the Point of Interest for you camera.

Multcamera monitor - problem selecting active camera

I am using PremPro CS4 on a Win7-64 bit quad Intel quad core machine with 8GB of DDR2 1066 RAM but this problem has occurred earlier when I was still using XP-32 bit.
It seems that after a time, my Logitech wireless mouse is working fine in everything other than when trying to change the active camera view in the multicam monitor. I have to hit the left button repeatedly to eventualy get the change that I want.
I have the current and correct driver, and have confirmed that this happens with both a wireless and wired Logitech trackball type mouse.
Has anyone had this issue and if so, is there a work around as it really extends the time it takes to do the edit.

numeric keypad and the general keyboard..
It seems intermittent and not consistent at all. This is at the end of a
VVEEERRRYYYY long complicated multicam edit since what was supposed to be 90
miutes took 3 hours and the tape use and camera synch was all over the
place.
But it certainly is driving me to distraction.

Photoshop Elements 9 disc - activation trouble and program access

This also goes for my Premiere Elements 9 since both it and the Photoshop came in the same package.
I was going through technical issues where the motherboard on my Windows laptop was fried and then replaced, so I installed PSE9 on a temporary computer until I got mine back. During that time the disc got passed around amongst my family, but when my laptop came home I uninstalled the program on all of our computers - after discovering I could no longer access it on mine, and "deactivation" was not an option because the program wouldn't open for me to do it; and, on the rare occasion it did, the area was grayed out - anyway, after all that chaos and string of uninstalling, I finally got around to reinstalling PSE9 and PE9 on my original computer.
The welcome screens will open, but when I try to get into the program I get the "Activation limit has been reached" message. "This serial number has already been activated on 2 computers." Ok, I get that it's been activated more than once, but how do I deactivate something that's been uninstalled??? How do I fix this? Would taking my computer back to factory settings do the trick? I'd like to avoid that if possible, though. Please help. I'm going crazy trying to find an answer. Thank you for your time.

Cost Element Error during Activity Confirmation

Hi,
We are using assembly processing to create projects. After project is created, a requirement arises and we manually assign few internal activities in CJ20N. When we do like that, a cost element gets picked automatically in the cost element field of External TAB along with Purchase Org & purchase group though it is an internal activity. This doesnt happen in already created activities during automatic creation.
We don't need the system to bring these values for cost element, purchase org. & group. We are not using this cost element anywhere. In network profile cost element field is blank.
So whenever we confirm the activity it throws an error message. CK197, G/L account for company code / costelement does not exist.
Kindly advice.

Have your system is gone for any recent upgrade for EHP4 ?
This error is due to EHP4 please implement following said notes
1285728, 1277967.
And after that remove the cost element from activities present in external tab which are created before not implementation which are giving error.
