  • DBACOCKPIT storage information update when filesystem size has changed

    Hello Experts,
    I'm playing around with db2, linux and virtualization...
    I reduce the file system size where the /db2 is mounted on. Problem is that TC dbacokpit shows the same information under space->automatic storage -> summary  as before the file system was reduced. I understand that with automatic storage DB2 will grow as need, but
    what happen when file system is shrunk ??
    do I have to do something in order to have dbacockpit to show accurate informating regarding the real available space in the file system once its size has changed?
    is there any danger on having dbacockpit reporting wrong available space on the file system?
    thank you

    Hello,
    Validate if standard job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR is scheduled hourly, if not, schedule it in client 000 with DDIC user. Review logs too, maybe there is an error shown in job logs.
    Also, you should take a look to SAP Note 1508792: "Refresh does not work in DBACockpit" or  SAP Note 1002840: "No data or obsolete data in DB Space Statistic monitor" may be helpfull too.

  • IDCS6 Mac - Transforming in a document whose size has changed...

    In one of the plugins I am porting to CS6 I have this code that works in all earlier versions of InDesign:
    TransformInnerPointToPasteboard(PageGeometry, &StartPoint);
    TransformInnerPointToPasteboard(PageGeometry, &EndPoint);
    The context:  I am creating a box for text.  The box lays mostly off of the document on the pasteboard.  It will contain processing information for all the prepress gang to review as they edit the submissions from our customers.
    The problem:  If the document size has been changed, the box is not placed correctly.  I have monitored the coordinates that are supposed to be calculated prior to the Transform call and they are correct.  If the document size has not changed, the box appears where expected.  If the document size has changed at any time, the box is moved upward and to the right several picas.
    Is there a new step I need to be taking in order to force the program to use a refreshed transform matrix? Or is this a bug within CS6?

    @Colly –  sometimes we use descriptive variables to illustrate something. The "my" in the name is always an indication, that a variable is in play, that has to be defined elsewhere… We could debate now, if that is "good style" or not, but no. I don't do that right now ;-)
    It's kind of "dummy" code and not meant to work immediately.
    In the case of "myDocument", you could use an additional line of code to define the variable "myDocument" at the start of the snippet and leave all other incidences of "myDocument" unchanged in the code:
    var myDocument = app.activeDocument;
    or you work with index 0 in an array like fashion:
    var myDocument = app.documents[0];
    or in a collection like fashion ("documents" is a collection of single document objects, and if you want to point out that to you, use the following syntax):
    var myDocument = app.documents.item(0);
    or you could have worked with the name of an open document (amongst others):
    var myDocument = app.documents.itemByName("MyDocumentName.indd");
    There are other examples as well…

  • Since upgrade to CC 2014 Saving size has changed.

    When I was working in Photoshop before my upgrade to 2014, I would resize my projects to 2 X 2 at 300dpi, and 9 or 10 and it would save it around 240K or slightly higher. All of a sudden it's saving it as 1.0M instead. I can't load this size into my store. I have no clue what happened, as I have not changed a single thing that I do. My original 12 X 12 files that it starts out as has changed to. Please help. No clue what the heck happened.

    JPEG format uses lossy compression and the file size is highly dependent on the image content. It sounds like you are using JPEG original files since both the original and resized JPEG export files are larger. Images with more detail will have larger file sizes at the same quality setting. Here are some good examples:
    http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/jpeg-quality
    In addition images shot at high ISO camera setting that have visible noise will inflate the file size. Use PS/ACR or LR's Noise Reduction tools to reduce the visible noise when viewed at 1:1 Zoom. This will help prevent the noise from inflating the Exported JPEG file size.

  • Only my email font size has changed....it's gone smaller while everything else including ads is normal size. How do I change it back to 12 pt type?

    twice in the past few weeks the font size on my email has changed smaller. The first time it went from 12 pt type to maybe 10 pt type. Last night while I was chatting on Yahoo with our daughter, it went down to maybe 2 pt type. I couldn't find a way to change it back. This morning I opened up the computer to try to work on it again and the font size was maybe 1/2 pt type. The words look like little squiggles on the page. Both my email addresses on Yahoo have reacted the same but the ads to the right of the email on the mail page remain the same size. If I open up another window, and say go to foodtv.com, everything is normal size. I have opened up Safari and gone to my email and everything is normal szie so the problem is the Mozilla. I have also called ATT and gotten help and they couldn't help as it's definitely a Mozilla problem.

  • Mail Signature: image size keeps changing to fit window

    When adding a logo image to a signature in mail, the image is not remaining the same size, it changes in size semingly to fit the width of the window that the email happens to be in. Mostly the image is showing larger than the window itself. We are having this problem on imac (snow leopard) and brand new macbook pro (mountain lion). I have tried using PNG and JPEG files but both have the same problem. Older signatures (2 years old) show the image correctly keeping it the same size. Any advice muchly appreciated : )

    I worked it out in the end - I had 2 things too big in my image settings; the canvas size (which was 14cm long!) and he DPI (which was 300dpi) I have since changed to approx 8cm long and 100DPI and it now displays the logo in the signature without increasing the size of it to fit the size of the window. My only issue now is trying to get the image to still show in the reply thread, so that when you look down the email conversation you can see the logo in each of the previous email signatures. This one is stumping me!

  • Date Picker Size Has Changed

    Recently the size of our data pickers has changed. The length of the date picker is now the size of the window.
    Has anybody else experienced this and how did you resolve it.
    Cheers
    Gus

    Hi Gus,
    Did you recently just upgrade APEX? Or perhaps did you include some custom CSS (which is overriding the CSS for the date picker)?
    Or perhaps have you upgraded your browser (or switched to a new browser)?
    Things don't just change for no reason ;)

  • Name of Drive storing image files has changed

    I'm sure there must be a simple answer to this - but it has me stumped.
    My OS is Windows XP Pro.
    All of the images files that I have imported into Lightroom are located on an external hard drive that was labeled the "G" drive when I first installed it.
    Now I have plugged in a Lexar Media thumb drive and that has usurped the "G" dive label and reassigned an "H" label to my external hard drive where all the image files were imported from.
    So... now all my folders, key words, catalogs, etc, etc. are no longer showing up when I open Lightroom.
    How do I reconnect with all the work I have done. I have tried to figure out how to undo the drive name change, but to no avail so far.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction.
    Thanks....Randy

    Use disk manager. If you right click on My computer and select manage it <br />will take you there. First step, with the Lexar drive connected, right click <br />on it in disk manager and change it's letter to something else.<br /><br />Then remove it connect, the external drive and change it to the letter you <br />want.<br /><br />You may have to reboot between steps one and two.<br /><br /><br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> I'm sure there must be a simple answer to this - but it has me stumped.<br />><br />> My OS is Windows XP Pro.<br />><br />> All of the images files that I have imported into Lightroom are located on <br />> an external hard drive that was labeled the "G" drive when I first <br />> installed it.<br />><br />> Now I have plugged in a Lexar Media thumb drive and that has usurped the <br />> "G" dive label and reassigned an "H" label to my external hard drive where <br />> all the image files were imported from.<br />><br />> So... now all my folders, key words, catalogs, etc, etc. are no longer <br />> showing up when I open Lightroom.<br />><br />> How do I reconnect with all the work I have done. • Grid size has changed in ACR

    In ACR (CS6), when you rotate a crop to straighten a picture, a grid appears to help you get horizons straight. I've noticed that for some reason that the grid looks much finer than normal - see here:
    Beforehand it used to look like this:
    How do you revert the grid so it looks the same in the second image?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    mikeengles wrote:
    As computers become more powerful and memory is so cheap and plentiful, the trend will eventually mean that all compositing and  processing will be done on RAW images.
    I don't see why that has to follow, but I'm clearly not thinking like everyone else.  I see Camera Raw as a means to get great data into Photoshop proper for editing.  Why reinvent the wheel?  Photoshop works.  I'll be the first to say, however, that Adobe has left a number of things alone that they should have updated - functions and filters that only work on 8 bit per channel data, for example.  Perhaps they see the trend as you do - no need to work on that antiquated stuff when everyone's looking to metadata-based operations in the future.
    I think it'll be quite a few years before computers are powerful enough to process all the metadata needed to represent an end-to-end editing session in real time, though.  And so it will remain most interactive to edit RGB pixels for the foreseeable future.  Note the threads around here, for example, where people complain how sluggish Camera Raw has become.  And just try editing an image that's got a stack of smart filters of any significant size.
    The modern GPU can crunch through a lot of graphics data in an eyeblink.  I hope I'm wrong about how long it will take to get GPUs working directly on the task.

  • Changing resolution and image size doesn't change result on screen?

    I'm using Photoshop CS3. I am trying to change the resolution of several images that will be printed in a newspaper. So the current images are 72 ppi and really huge -- for example 36 x 27 inches (document size), and when I change them to 300 ppi, the image sizes shrink to about 8 x 6 inches, as I expect. But the image I see on the screen doesn't change. So, for example, when I open up the image originally, it's at 33% and the entire image is visible. After I change the resolution, and the image size has changed accordingly, the image still appears the same and it remains at 33%. Shouldn't the image shrink on the screen since its size has shrunk? Or if it remains the same on the screen, shouldn't the percentage shift? I mean if the document size is now 8 x 6, it should be able to be displayed at 100% and not fill my whole screen... I'm so confused. Thanks...

    gradded,
    The "Document Size" area of the Image Size dialog is just to indicate the size (in inches) that your document will be printed. The ppi adjustment has nothing to do with what is displayed on your monitor. Your monitor doesn't care anything about ppi. The monitor contains a certain number of pixels and after you change that ppi setting, the monitor will still have that same number of pixels.
    As long as you leave the "Resample Image" box unchecked, your image size (Pixel Dimensions) will not change. You will see no change on your monitor. If you check the "Resample Image" box, then your image size (in pixels) will change.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I change the image size by pixels

    In the older version of photoshop you could change the image size and change it by pixels independently. With photoshopcc if I change the width the height changes. How do you change the 2 values independently to get the desired size?

    You'll want to use the Camera icon to upload your screenshot images when you reply.
    But jml007 has the answer I think you want. Change the units from inches to pixels and click on the chain link to turn it off and enter your W H values independently.
    Mark his answer as correct if this solves your issue.

  • I am still having problems understanding changes in image size

    Howdy
    I hope someone can help me. I have an old record album (one that has never come out on CD). I recently recorded the album over to a CD recorder. Okay great, I now have the CD. Years ago I gave a copy of the LP to my brother. I want to give him a copy of the CD with the album cover as artwork. Okay I have a commercial scanner at my place of work so I can scan the album cover which is roughly 12 inches by 12 inches. I scanned it at 200 dpi. So I end up with this large image. CD covers are around 4 3/4 inches. I played around with the image using another program and thought I'd changed it to this size but it never worked out right. Now I have been trying to play around with the image in Adobe and just can't quite understand this. To try to understand this better I actually scanned a cd cover at 200 dpi and then opened this image in adobe. The size of the image says its 4 3/4 by 4 3/4 but it doesn't look like it would printout that way. It looks like it would print out much larger. I saw somewhere in this forum that adobe is set to something like 72 ppi and I think I sort of understand that but I guess what I need help with is the process by which I convert an image of the album cover which is roughly 12x12 to be 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 without losing too much resolution quality. Can someone walk me through this? I guess I don't understand how to resize the larger image to 4 3/4 by 4 3/4 inches so that it actually prints out at that size. This is driving me crazy!! Thanks.
    Joe

    Joe,
    Try not to get too bogged down different resolutions - not least because monitors display images at a different resolution to printers.
    The good news is that you have a scanned image that is larger than you require which means downsizing it is doing to be easier.
    Go to the 'Image' menu, select the 'Resize' option, select 'Image Size' from the sub-menu.
    A dialogue box should appear on screen. At the top is a section entitled 'Pixel Dimensions'. No need to worry about these, but for a 12" x 12" image at 200ppi, the measurments on my screen show an overall file size of 16.5 MB with the width and height each showing 2400 pixels.
    Focus on the section below it entitled 'Document Size'. Hopefully it displays the sizes you have mentioned: 12" wide, 12" high, 200 PPI resolution.
    Firstly, click in the box where the units of measurement are given and change them to 'cm' (CDs are 12 centimetres square unlike their predecessor LPs that were 12 inches square). The corresponding values in the sizes will change automatically to reflect your new choice of measurement. On my screen, where it did show 12 inches, it now shows 30.48 cm. Click on the figure alongside width and change this to 12. If the 'Constrain Proportions' option is ticked, the height will change automatically too. You'll notice that the resolution increases automatically from 200 to 508. Just click OK and your image size has been changed.

  • Importing Multi-Page PDF. Problems with Image Size Changing.

    I am working with CS4 on Windows XP.
    This has happened to numerous files...
    I open a multi-page PDF using PhotoShop using Grayscale. There are crop marks indicated on each page, so I will use the crop tool to crop each image accordingly. Then I convert each to a bitmap and save it as a .tiff file and close it. When I re-open the file, the image size has increased. It seems like it increases the same amount each time (maybe about 25%??) for each file.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    I'm still unclear why you are bothering to open these PDF in Photoshop only to crop.
    Acrobat can do this most easily. Placing the PDF files back in InDesign can also do this.
    Photoshop is the last tool you'd want to use as it is rasterizing the vector elements/text and producing a larger file.
    If you have neither Acrobat or InDesign, look to a free tool to crop PDF.
