Elements 7.0 won't launch - please help?

Neither Photoshop Elements 7.0 nor Premiere Elements 7.0 will launch on my laptop. I have a Sony Vaio running Vista, which is up to date. I have tried running disc clean up and also 'sfc /scannow'. I have also tried updating drivers but they seem to be up to date. I have used both applications successfully in the past - please can someone advise me what's going on and what to do. I can't reinstall from a disc as the applications were pre-bundled with the computer. HELP!

Please check Task Manager for any PSE or PRE related exe and End the process.
Restart your system.
Now go to C:\Program Files or Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7 and try running PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe by right clicking >> Run as Admin. Does that work?

Mail & iChat won't launch - Please help

Hey guys
So I was trying to make a clone of a HD from another computer using Carbon Copy Cloner because I was going to wipe it out and install Tiger. I wanted to make a backup copy to my computer so I used Target Mode to bring my computer's HD to the host computer and make the copy. This was the first time I used CCC so instead of making the HD an image file I selected Choose Target or something like that, then it started making a copy of it directly to my computer's HD. I stopped it when I saw it was copying all the files and folder to my computer's HD, I mean, I thought it would make a separate folder with the name of the HD I was trying to make a backup of and put everything in it. But no, I was wrong. Then I was able to make it an image file. Backed it up, everything ready for wipe out. After finishing with the backup I erased it, and then installed Tiger without a problem. Going back to my computer I encountered a problem, Mail and iChat won't launch. My guess is that when CCC started making the clone to my comp's HD it messed up something somewhere on my computer affecting them. So I'm asking you guys if you can give me a hand on how to fix this problem. If anybody knows how to make them work again please let me know as I need them to work, they're part of my work's tools.

I would restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod on your computer and start over. It appears the iPod is associated with another account. Any media that came with the iPod does not belong to you and di not transfer with the iPod hardware.

Thanks for the update. I don't know if you have tried this, but I would next I would try removing and re adding the mail account from the phone, then testing the issue again:
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

Photoshop elements 12 freezing on 'initializing'. Please help!

I bought of DVD copy of Elements 12 in june and has been working perfectly until very recently. I use a wacom intuos pro (small) graphics tablet and have been using it perfectly with Elements 12 (and CS5) for the last 2 months, until I updated the driver for my tablet (both cord and wireless). Since updating the driver for the tablet, neither Elements 12 or CS5 will open. They launch and freeze on the startup image when it reached 'Initializing', everytime for the last week without fail.
I've done everything I can think of to fix this problem, from changing the permissions of the SLS Store and Adobe PCD folders, uninstalling and re-installing both soft-wares (which resulted in Elements 12 telling me it was only a trial version worth 30 days, and asking me to lisence the software when ever it successfully launched) and restoring the computer to an earlier date.
I've only been able to open the programmes when I didnt have my tablet plugged in, and then it would crash after a few minutes (or immediately when I plugged the tablet in). I've rebooted the tablet multiple times and have finally got it working properly, but Elements 12 and CS5 still refuse to launch.
I'm running on a 64 bit version of Windows 7, with 8 GB RAM and up to 3.1 GHz.
Please help!

PSE 8 Editor will not launch-Please HELP!

I purchased PSE 8 and installed it to my computer, which meets all system requirements.
After everything was installed, I opened and Adobe ID account. When the welcome screen appears and I click on "Edit" the screen says "Launching Editor" for about 3 seconds, stops, and then nothing happens. I read the "Read Me" section that comes with the software and it mentions a problem with the Editor Launcher having trouble initializing. The instructions are to click "Edit" from the welcome screen, then click SHIFT+ALT+CTRL (or whatever order, I've tried everything) and then click "YES" for rebuilding editor launching preferences. Well, when I click "Edit" and SHIFT+ALT+CTRL, NOTHING happens!!!! I don't get any kind of response.
I have unistalled, reinstalled... I am so frustrated. I have used PSE 3 in the past and have never had any trouble. I have already wasted 2 hours on this program and I haven't even used it!

Since you have used an IP in the EM's URL, there can be one more possibility besides this that the EM service has been stopped(as suggested by others already) . It may be a reason that EM service is not up because the IP address has been changed due to a machine reboot. As 9/10 times, the IP addresses are assigned via DHCP on home laptops and desktops, if this IP address is no longer there, the EM service won't be up. But before we shall come to know about this that whether this is indeed the reason, try the command-emctl status dbconsole and if it says, not running EM, emctl start dbconsole. Post the output of the commands.

Elements 11 has stopped working. Please help?

Yesterday my computer shut down while I was working in Photoshop Elements 11. Now when I try to get back in, it reads error message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 has stopped working. Windows is trying to find a solution". But it never does and then Editor just closes. I looked at the forum and tried a few things people posted but nothing is working. Please help.

The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. This is because PSE saves your settings each time you close the application. Problems can sometimes occur if you don’t let the program close properly or if you launch another application too quickly whilst closing down Elements. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts. To begin, close Elements.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. After a few seconds release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Alternatively hold down the three keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys for a few seconds; then release. You should get the settings option.
When you see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.

Itunes 10 Installs but won't open - Please Help

I had Itunes 10 installed working on my computer. I installed a program which also installed an older version of Quicktime which I think was version 6.5. The next time I tried to open Itunes it said I needed verion 7.5 of Quicktime to open Itunes please reinstall Itunes. Now comes the problem. I have installed and uninstalled Itunes about 10 times, everytime it install ok but does not open when I click on the icon. The itunes.exe file opens in task manager for a few seconds then closes. I have searched a few places for solutions with no avail. I have tried the correct order of removing apple programs and deleting temp folder and internet cache. I have tries msconfig but can't find any of the programs which have affected other users. I have tried creati9ng another user account for windows but Itunes still won't open. Can anyone please help. My computer is Windows 7 32 bit. Thank in advance.

No, the program I installed was Winavi MP4 which coverts video to ipod psp format etc.
Ack, that one's just as bad. It's been causing this sort of grief for iTunes users for over five years now.
What it has probably done here is drop old versions of QuickTime componentry in unorthodox locations on the PC (usually down in your operating system files). So we're going to go looking for that.
First we'll adjust some view settings on the PC.
1. From the Start menu, click Open.
2. In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
5. Click OK.
Now, in Computer, open your C drive (or whichever drive your operating system is installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "System32" folder.
What files or folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the file or folder name? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Photoshop Elements continues to crash upon opening - please help

I continue to get the message that the program must close down two seconds after I open it. I held down shift when I clicked on organizer and the management screen came up. I repaired, I optimized and the program continues to show down after two seconds. It will not give me enought time to click on preferences and change the back up option, which is a suggestion I read on another post. I am desperate to get into elements. Working on a thesis project and need to write captions for images and upload to website using Dreamweaver. Please help me. I have PLUS and it says I have 19.0 GB of online storage capacity left. I don't understand why the program is suddenly refusing to stay open.

Hello. I appreciate your message below. The problem is I cannot use the Elements organizer at all. As soon as I open it, three seconds later, a message pops up that says the program has encountered and error and must close, and then it closes, immediately. The organizer was working perfect for approx two months until I used a corrupt font in Premier Elements 9 on a video title. This corrupt font was one of Adobe's program fonts, I did not go import a font, I merely used the Adobe program font selections. When I tried to apply the font change to my video clips, I was unable to finish on all of the clips, the font was behaving very strange, and the next day, I noticed my elements organizer crashed each time I open it. I need an Adobe technical person with experience in these matters to tell me what needs to be done to make my elements organizer work again. I tried to remove the program and reinstall it, and that did not work. I followed all of your previous suggestions, and none of those worked. As for the suggestion you give below, I can only open the program under edit since the organizer crashes immediately each time I open it. When I open the editor and to go EDIT and PREFERENCES, I do not see any option about auto analyzer in any of these options, under Editor. Also, since my organizer worked perfectly until the corrupt font issue happened, I doubt seriously if the crash issue is related to auto analyzer. That was not causing a problem before the corrupt font issue occurred. I paid a lot of money and bought four Adobe programs, Elements, Premier Elements 9, Flash and Dreamweaver, and I need the Elements Organizer to work and not crash each time I open it. What do I need to do to accomplish this? I have an enormous amount of photos and videos in that program at this point since I am completing a thesis project for my Master's Degree. Hello Apple Discussions. I've been having trouble with my iTunes account. Every time I try to open the program it tells me that an error has occurred and has to close. I've been reading through what other people have tried to get around this problem, and this is what I've tried so far. I tried checking the disk, nothing. I tried opening the Quick Time player and I'm getting the same message that a problem has occurred and has to close. What do I do? Please help. Thank you for your time.

The Quick Time player is a BEX error.
I'm afraid that malware is the worry with that ntdll.dll/BEX combination, scotty. (Often people who get it also can't get their Adobe Reader to launch either, although that symptom isn't universal.)
I'm not sure which particular beast (or beasts) is the culprit at this stage, but the free version of Malwarebytes has been doing a good job of fixing it for a lot of people.
Download and install Malwarebytes from the following page. Update the Malwarebytes definitions prior to running a scan with Malwarebytes:
