Elements 7 "Not Enough Ram Error Message"

I have just bought Elements 7 and have found that I can edit my photographs ok, but when I save them, and then try and reopen the images once again in edit I get the message, "Could Not Complete Your Request Because There Is Not Enough Memory (Ram).
Luckily I have still kept my Serif 10 software which will open the saved images perfectly.
Any suggestions.
My computer is a Hewlett Packard Compaq Presario AMD Athlon (tm) 64 Processor 3200+

Gary,
Try resetting the preferences. You can either press and hold the CTRL,
SHIFT, and ALT keys when you launch the Editor until you are asked if you
want to delete the settings. You do. That is a bit tricky, because it has
to be perfectly timed, so here are the instructions of another way to it:
"To re-create the Photoshop Elements preferences file:
Quit Photoshop Elements.
Locate the preferences file for the Editor in Photoshop Elements:
On Windows XP: Documents and Settings\[user]\Application
Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\7.0\Editor\Adobe Photoshop Elements 7
Prefs.psp
On Windows Vista: Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop
Elements\7.0\Editor\Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 Prefs.psp
Rename the extension for the file (for example, to Photoshop Elements 7
Prefs.old).
Start the Editor in Photoshop Elements. Photoshop Elements creates a new
preferences file.
Note: This procedure requires you to locate the Photoshop Elements
preferences file by its full name, including the extension, which is located
inside a hidden folder. By default, Windows Explorer doesn't show hidden
files, hidden folders, and file name extensions that it recognizes."

  • Photoshop CS2 Not Enough RAM error message (wrong forum)

For some strange reason, my copy of Photoshop CS2 (macintosh) has started giving me an error message after program start up: could not complete your request because there is not enough RAM. I don't have to do anything. This message pops up about 1 minute after I start the program. The program works fine. I just close the window and go on. I haven't installed any new plug ins or changes to my prefs or hardware configuration. This just started for no apparent reason. It doesnt't refuse to work, it's just annoying. I've tried deleting the Photoshop prefs file and reinstalling the program from the master disc. Didn't help. I'm running OS 10.4.2 on a dual 1.8 gz processor mac with 4 gigs of RAM; Photoshop set to retain 60% of that. Anyone with any ideas about this, or should I just quit whining and go back to work...

  • Apple remote won't work with Keynote + "not enough RAM" error

Of course it works with Keynote 6.0 ('13), but not Keynote 5.3. It also works with iTunes and volume during Keynot '13 but will not advance the slide/animation.
Anyone else have the same problem?
Also, ever since Mavericks update, sometimes my Keynotes will not play due to an error that says I have insufficient RAM. Even if I close all other apps. Sometimes when I quit the app and restart it, it will work?
    Anyone else? Fixes?

Solution: Deleted Keynote '13 and the remote works with '09 again.
    Hmmm...
We'll see if the "not enough RAM" error pops up anymore.

  • Not enough RAM error while running batch command

Bug in photoshop creative cloud. When using the "batch" editing feature after 5 images being edited the same way (batch processing) an error code pops up. "Error:not enough ram" and then i have to restart which does the same thing over and over again. Running a quad core i7 1tb hard drive 16gb of memory so there should be no error code. Help please and if anyone has a fix besides and update could you email me at <edit to remove email address> Thanks! Cant post this in the photoshop.com community because of another bug. I have done everything from creating new scratch disks off of other hdd's allotting more ram to go to psd (since i can only use 3255mb because of a useless limiter on photoshop) to rebooting computer and nothing helps at all.

This error is somewhat generic.  Can mean not enough free disk space, insufficient page file, ram, or buffer error.
Best not to include your e-mail as it opens you to spam.

  • "not enough memory" error message

Ive tried to update my apps and update my iphone software through my PC and I keep getting an error message stating "not enough memory" I have over 7GB available on my phone and more than 2/3 of my memory free on my hard drive..***!

Just got the same answer. Seems this is a consistent thing really. Seemed to happen in previous releases also. When people have loads of ram free. So maybe Apple should thing about the debbuging and put a better error message in.
Not sure if this will work for you but I found that if I did the updates one at a time it all worked swimmingly.
But for Tech supports sakes, this is another user who hit this issue.

  • "Itunes library cannot be saved, there is not enough memory" Error Message

Every time when I leave my mac to play songs on iTunes in shuffle mode or when I select a few songs (such as by the same singer), this error message ("Itunes library cannot be saved, there is not enough memory") would appear after a while, and my iTunes would then crash by itself and an option to 'Reopen' or to 'Report the problem to Apple' box would pop up.
However, this just does not make any sense to me. My mac is a Macbook Pro 2011, 13" with i5 sandybridge processor, 4G RAM, how could it ran out of virtual memory when I am only playing SEVEN songs by the same singer?
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Or should I send this computer back to Apple and ask them to check it?
    Thank you!

I'm getting the same message -- "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. There is not enough memory available." It just started popping up every time I do anything on iTunes, but I haven't updated the program recently (iTunes 10.4.1.10, for the record), and have been using it on this computer (Win7) for over a year.
I checked the archived responses to this problem, and just about all of them are about its other cause ("You do not have enough privileges for this operation"), and the others are about incompatabilities with early Windows 7 (and are several years old), so I don't imagine they're completely relevant.
Please, does anyone know anything to help?

  • "There was not enough memory" error message when saving DNG and Jpeg

PC/Windows XP Pro. Pentium 4/2Gb RAM.
I am constantly getting memory errors when trying to save batches of images from ACR4 either as Jpegs or DNGs.
A couple of images in to the batch a small window appears with a list of the files and next to each of them is the line: "There was not enough memory."
These are 220Mb TIFF files that are processed in Hasselblad's Flexcolor on the same computer. I can process an entire folder full (sometimes 50 images) without a hitch in Flexcolor, but Bridge/ACR4 and CS3 can't handle any reasonable number of images.
Could it be something in my settings? For the record, they are:
In Bridge, under Edit/Preferences/Camera RAW preferences, Camera Raw Cache is set to 10Gb. Jpeg and Tiff handling boxes are both ticked.
Under Edit/Preferences/Cache, Cache Size slider is slightly over half way to the right.
In addition, I have CS3 pointed to a formatted 500GB scratch disk all to itself.
And CS3's RAM is set to 80%.
Finally, this computer is used for nothing else except image editing.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    D.

    Thomas,
    Thanks for the reply.
If you mean by "Public Beta", did I download the 10.4Mb plug-in (as per John Cornicello's link above) and install it at Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats in place of the old plug-in, then yes.
I always run ACR4 via Bridge, never via CS3. CS3 always comes after conversion in my workflow. Also, I like to give Bridge/ACR a free run of available resources. Nothing else is ever open when I'm running them.
In CS3 under Edit/Preferences/File Handling, under Image Previews I selected 'Never Save'. Not sure if this affects ACR though.
Also, as per the suggestion in the article referred to in my last post, I removed the tilde ~ to activate the Bigger Tiles plug-in. CS3's memory % is now set @ 90%.
The only thing I haven't done is to activate the Microsoft 3Gb switch. I can't find instructions that are clear enough. Also, it may be that it makes no difference when running Vista 64bit, as I am.
For what it's worth, with these fine tunings, CS3 now executes the Retouch Artist's Speedtest in 20 seconds, a shade faster than before. This is extremely fast, so my setup should not be the problem here. I hope! ;-)
Finally, is there any point in trying LR? Or is its file saving/cache setup the same as ACR's?
Thanks for taking an interest in my case. I'm very happy to be a guinea pig since I will constantly have to process large numbers of files and I'd like to overcome this problem
    Many thanks.
    D.

  • CS4 Bridge Error Message-"The operation couldnot be completed. Not Enough MEMORY ERROR MESSAGES

    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3469769
I originally posted this in Photoshop but employee thought expertise was lacking in that forum and that I should move my question to this one.
Seems very few Adobe CSx users use Bridge....go figure!
Anyway getting error messages that there is not enough memory in Bridge to continue and I must restart Bridge.
Refer to the above link for original question and all pertinant computer data.
Seems this is a very prevelant problem in both the PC and MAC environment but Adobe has felt not important enough to help(see employee comment or lack thereof).
    Any help would be appreciated.
I am not real "computer" saavy so please speak so("Idiots Guide To Adobe Bridge ; >) )
    Dan

Apparently not.  I'm still seeing it in the Photoshop Windows forum - though it's anyone's guess WHAT you'll see with this Jive Turkey forum software.

  • I am getting a Not Enough Storage error message on my iPad.  How do I fix it?

I can't sign in or even use the iPad.  It is frozen and the only message that comes up is Not Enough Storage This iPad cannot be backed up because there is not enough ICloud storgage available.  You can manage our storage in Settings.  It will not allow me to push the close or settings button to do so.  I have plugged it in to the computer and it will not allow me to shut it off.  HELP!!!

    Try this now.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up

  • Lightroom 5 "not enough memory" error message

After using Lightroom 5 for several months I started to have the message "not enough memory" during the export action. It started to appear ones in a while, then it became more frequent and now it comes in every single photo exported.
I wonder if it is related to the library size as the only thing that changed in my computer since I started to use Lightroom is that I have increased the amount of pictures.
I run Lightroom out of my hard disk and I store the raw files as well as the modified jpg pictures in an external hard disk. Both have enough space and the core memory size has not changed since the beginning. I try not to run any other program at the same time.
I have seen that there are several discussions on this subject but it goes normally to increasing the size of the memory but it doesn’t explain why at the beginning the export was done very quickly and without problem and why the problem increased with the time (and with the size of the library°
Is there a way to manage the library size?

I have found a Work Around without changing or revamping my computer.
As I have noticed that the problem came slowly after several months of using Lightroom I suspected that there was something accumulating in the memory space needed for the program. From the left menu bar where I had all of the imported files, I deleted the folders that I'm not using currently; this action didn't erase the files in the hard drive but deleted them from the program's memory.
I noticed that now the program needs less memory space during normal use (developing) and when I do an export, the peak of memory usage that is needed for the operation does not reach the available memory space.

  • Not enough memory ERROR message showing on my iPhone.  HELP!

On the 13th of last week I bought 10GB for my iPhone and my phone is still showing an error message that I don't have enough storage to back up my phone or take photographs.  SOMEONE HELP!

Added storage is helpful if you have a lot of emails, or if several members of the family use the same account (but it's best to each have their own accounts) and then back up multiple devices to icloud, etc.

Sorry but what Firefox has anything to do with Skype? Nothing. People getting this error even on fresh Windows installs (firefox is not default software). Cleaning DbTemp is not helpfull, becouse problem is in Skype itself. When you launch it will create it again. There is some memory leak and devs should know it by now. I can't believe it still not fixed people reported it even on 7.0 version.

  • "Not enough RAM" error - MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8, with 8.0 GB RAM.  I'm using Photoshop CS5 and the PerfectResize 7.5 plug-in to create some very large files (1.5-2.0 GB).  I enlarged one file, and then checked my RAM availability; of the 8.0 GB RAM, about half was inactive and there was only a sliver of free RAM left.  When I went to enlarge a second file, Photoshop was unable to do so because there was insufficient free RAM.  When I closed Photoshop, my free RAM increased to 4.0 GB while the inactive RAM dropped to 1.4 GB.
As I understand it, on the Mac, "inactive" RAM is really free RAM, and (as I said) I have 8.0 GB RAM to begin with, so I don't know why I'm getting this error.  I have Photoshop's performance preference set to let Photoshop use up to 70% of the RAM, but even at other settings, I couldn't complete the operation.
Does someone understand Photoshop, MacBooks, and RAM well enough to explain what is happening, or how I can fix this without having to close Photoshop?  Thanks!

How much free space do you have available on your boot drive?  Is that also where your primary scratch file resides?
With files in the 2 GB size range, you will need tons and tons of scratch disk space, conceivably up to more than 200 GB in extreme cases.  Photoshop moves stuff back and forth between RAM and its scratch file.
My personal rule of thumb is to figure on 50 to 100 times or more the size of your largest open file multiplied by the number of files you have open at any one time. I have seen the scratch file exceed 300 GB on rare occasions.
Perhaps you should look at an external FW drive for scratch.
I'm not saying this is definitely your problem, but without more information it's hard to guess.
Perhaps I shouldn't have replied to your post at all, given your last paragraph, since I'm not brave enough to attempt to run Photoshop on a Mac Book any more, although I did so for some time when that was my only Intel Mac.

  • Quick Selection refine edges error message.  Not enough ram??

I am on day 6 of the drial for CC.  The quick selection tool worked great for about 3 days and then i started getting the 'not enough memory' error message while refining edges.  I have cleared memory, done updates, adjusted preferences etc and although my sytem is running dramatically better i am still getting the error message!  Can anyone help please?

i'd set paging to 2x installed RAM min and max and leave it at that.
ditto same physical drive info. if you can help it, windows swap and ps scratch should be on seperate drives.
as for the EMPTY drive, i don't think so. all you need is a large contiguous block of free space. i have a drive with over 100gig free, that i keep defragged so the free space is in one big block, i use that as my ps scratch drive. the problems happen when you start fragmenting your scratch file, so that the disk heads have to jump around the drive to read and write - and i think that's what FA's advice is trying to tell you to avoid at all costs.

  • Error: Not Enough RAM to Open Small Files

    MacBook5,2
    Macintosh OSX 10.6.3
    4GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce 9400M - 256MB
    Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended (11.0.1)
I am rendering TIFF files out of Maya that are 11880 x 3400 pixels.  The file size ranges between 100 - 160 MB.  Whenever I attempt to open one of these images in Photoshop, I receive this error: "Could not complete the Open command because there is not enough RAM."
I just ran Adobe Update and I have all the latest updates.
I deleted my Photoshop preferences and restarted Photoshop.
I have my Scratch disk set to an internal solid state disk with 30 GB of free space.
    I have Photoshop's RAM set to 3000MB.
Despite all of this, I still receive the "Could not complete the Open command because there is not enough RAM" error every time I attempt to open the images rendered out of Maya.
The images from Maya are completely normal 8bit TIFF files with neither an alpha channel nor a depth channel.  I can successfully open them in After Effects, but this is useless to me.  I need to edit them individually in Photoshop.
Photoshop's error is clearly not due to file size.  I have HDR panoramas with dimensions greater than 11880 x 3400 that go up to 1GB in file size that I can open and work on in Photoshop without any problem.
Why is Photoshop not playing nicely with these TIFF images?

I still want to a solution to the above problem, but I have found a temporary work-around using After Effects.
Import the image into After Effects and then save the image as another file using Composition --> Save Frame as --> File.
As I said earlier, After Effects is capable of reading the files that are coming out of Maya even though Photoshop is not.
When I use After Effects to save the image as a TIFF, Photoshop is now able to open the new TIFF file.
This, however, is only a temporary work-around.  It is not optimal to resave the image before I start working on it.  I am probably loosing some precious data in the After Effects conversion.  As a matter of fact, the images tend to be 40MB smaller in size when I export them through After Effects, even though I am using the same file type, no compression, and still 8 bits.
Now, back to the problem: What is wrong with Photoshop?
