Elements 7 on imac

I purchased a Dell laptop for my wife awhile ago and I purchased the Photoshop/Premiere Elements 7 with it. She has never used it and I was wondering if I can use the same disc to install the program on a recently purchased iMac?
Thanks for the help

No, sorry. First of all there never was a mac version of PSE 7. Also, adobe only included both versions on disc  for PSE 1 and 2, then not again till PSE 9.

  • Problem with my Adobe Premiere Elements on Imac

    I have the brand new IMac 27inch 2013  i5.
When I'm working on Adobe Premiere ELements 9, the program is opening a message which is telling me that there's an error. Then the program closes. It ALWAYS happens when I'm trying to put a menu in my video. It is related to this action. I don't know what to do... I tried to uninstall the program but nothing changed unfortunatelly... I don't know if the problem's related to Adobe or to the IMac...
I'm also not able to install the latest Adobe Flash Player (12) on my IMac.
I really need some help please! Thank you!

  • How to install Photoshop elements on iMAC

Having trouble installing Elements disc on iMAC.  Anyone have a clue?

The directions on the box simply say to insert disc 3 for the mac version and then follow the on screen directions. When I get the initial screen listing the programs on the disc, installation doesnt start and a message tells me I have selected 1 item but have no KB left.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 IMac

Hi I have Photoshop Elements 8 and have recently changed from PC to IMac,is there anything I can do, so I don't have to buy the software again?
    Any advice, much appreciated, thanks
    Natasha

How did you get the software? If you got it with some kind of hardware like a camera or scanner, you probably have both versions on the disc, but otherwise, for PSE 8, I'm afraid you do. PSE 9 comes with both platforms if you buy the boxed version (not the download), but from PSE 3 to PSE 8, it was one platform only.
Adobe does offer a crossgrade license, but you would need to pay the "upgrade fee" since you'd be getting PSE 9 for mac. Since there isn't really upgrade pricing for PSE (it's only a rebate for registered owners, not a deep discount like you get with PS), it doesn't help any with PSE, unfortunately, since you can almost always find it elsewhere for less than MSRP.

  • Installing photoshop elements on imac with no disc drive

I purchased Adobe Photoshop elements 9 a year or so ago.  I still have the installation disc and all the packaging that came with it.  Unfortunately my imac crashed and I had to purchase a new imac.  I would like to install this program on my new computer but there is no disc drive on it.  Also there are no instructions included that direct installation without using the disc.  How can I get this installed on my imac so that I can use it again?

You can download the trial version of the software from the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Photoshop elements for iMac OSX 10.9.5

Which is the best version of Photoshop Elements to get for my new iMac 21.5" OSX 10.9.5. I have not installed Yosemite. Am using Mavericks.

While Photoshop Elements is nice and pretty good (it is a limited version of Photoshop after all) it is rather expensive for what it can do and for what it cannot do.
PIxelmator is nearly identical in function and in user interface elements to Photoshop and has more of the regular/standard features of full Photoshop for only $29.99 U.S.D. in the Mac App Store.
I highly reccommend this app over PS Elements, hands down.
Please check it out before deciding.

  • Elements Crashes iMac?

It's pretty hard to crash an iMac but Photoshop Elements seems to have contributed to the demise of ours.  Being old folks, when using the 24" Mac monitor at the highest resolution (standard graphics card, nothing fancy), it's close to impossible to see the tool icons.  Adobe e-mail response was difficult to read, suggesting someone whose first (or even second) language is other than English.  Once through it, it seemed the thing to do was to reduce screen resolution.  A couple of steps down made the tool icons usable but degraded the appearance of pictures.  Then the iMac "went to sleep".  When wakened, the cursor became a rotating color wheel when in the Photoshop screen; reverted to an arrow when outside it, but would do nothing.  Couldn't even shut down the program or even the computer.  Power it down and it would come back OK but repeat as soon as it went to sleep again.  Restoring to highest resolution let it work though tool icons were now unusable.
Worked with an Apple technician for over 3 hours, including complete reinstall of the OX (10.5.?) and Elements.  Same thing.  They wanted the computer sent back so their engineers can try to figure out what's going on.  It might be a hardware issue, an OS software issue, or some weird thing going on between the OS and Elements.  Maybe they can tell me.  Meanwhile, when the replacement arrives, I'll try changing resolution both before and after installing Elements and, before changing resolution AFTER installation I'll have an Apple tech on the phone with me when I try it for the first time.
Overall, if I could get my old Elements 2.0 to work on this machine I'd actually prefer it!

Your computer is not going to be happy at a lower resolution. That's just the way it is with LCD screens. They are not flexible this way like the old CRT screens were. What you gain in size you lose in fuzziness.
It shouldn't be crashing, though. I've never heard of changing screen resolution causing a hard crash of PSE or OS X, so my guess is that there was something else woogly besides this.
Having said that, you won't like it if you try to run your imac at a lower resolution. Many things will be weird, and PSE will not display properly, almost certainly. I don't like the high-res screens either, but until apple brings resolution-independent graphics into OS X (Leopard was originally supposed to have this), that's just how it is, unfortunately.

  • Problems with printing adobe elements and imac

elements 13 and new imac.  The printer settings are incomplete.  When I try to make adjustments to the printer settings not all the settings are there (i look on line and I am not seeing what I expect

Are you new to macs generally, or just to this mac? Assuming the former, in OS X you make most of your choices for print quality, ink, paper, etc. in the OS X print window that pops up after you click Print in the PSE print window. The window usually opens as a little stub and you need to click Show Details to expand the window. Your print settings will be in the pulldown menu in the middle of the expanded window.

  • Any suggestions when using PS Elements on iMac?

plan to use PS13 as photo editor, asking if anything I should be aware of with that and my iMac?
    thanks,
    Don

Many thanks Andaleeb - yes I have tried that and it seems only to add to the confusion - folders which in the Finder clearly show all my images are blank in PSE Organiser with the statement that they still have to be imported into PS Organiser. I guess that may be my fault because, due to the problems in locating files in Organiser I right clicked on them in the Finder and said 'open with PSE'. So in effect I bypassed PSE Organiser. But one would still have hoped that the folder hierarchy would be the same in Organiser and the Finder. Very confusing! I have never seen a program deal with folders etc in the way PSE does.
    all the best

  • I'm a new mac user. My photos transferred over from PC w/Adobe Elements to Imac with IPhoto and they're a complete disorganized mess!!!!! HELP!

I'm a new mac user. I just had my 8,000  photos that I managed on my old PC using Elements transferred to new Mac. Now half my photos are completely disorganized and jumbled together out of order in one big Iphoto album, when they used to be arranged in folders by date. I could see this taking hours and hours of reviewing and organizing, picture by picture.
What is the most expedient solution to this problem? I'm open to using Iphoto, Aperture, and perhaps even Lightroom to organize my pics but would like to avoid Elements since I read new organizers stink.
P.S.  I would love a 'Sort' function by date to keep them in order, (much more useful to me than categorizing by faces and places), however I can't seem to find a program that offers this, which makes no sense to me.
    Thanks,
    Angela

View Menu -> Sort Photos -> By Date?
If you want to duplicate your Folder Tree in iPhoto:
Start at the bottom of the hierarchy and drag a folder of images to the Album Heading in iPhoto. The pics will be imported and an Album of the same name created.
You can then create the Enclosing Folders in the iPhoto Window (File -> New Folder) and drag the Album to it. Folders can contain other Folders (Nested Folders) and Albums.
However, is your folder system date based? Then this form of organisation is a bit pointless in iPhoto when Smart Albums or the Calendar tool (Click on the wee magnifying glass in the Search Box) mean you can find the photos taken on any day, month or year at a click. With Smart Albums it's easy to find photos from specific range - say, June 3 to August 25, 2009 etc.
If your folder system is theme based - Xmas pics, Birthday pics etc, then you'll find Keywords are much more flexible, and can be used in conjunction with other criteria for making Smart Albums and searches.

  • Help! 2006 imac need Mountain Lion to run Photoshop elements

Hi, getting very frustrated : (
Have a 2006 Imac Intel; upgraded to snow leopard last year; now wanted to run Photoshop elements. Imac says NO. We needed Mountain Lion- ordered this online, computer says NO. Need more memory. So have bought and installed new memory (2gb + 1gb). Computer still says no, wont download Mountain Lion.
I just want to use elements!!
Any help appreciated, I'm not that computer savvy
    Thanks : D
    Gareth

The new version PSE will run on OS X 10.7 Lion.
    PSE 12 runs on 10.7- 10.9
Here are the system requirements for OS X 10.7 Lion.
To use Lion, make sure your computer has the following:
An Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
Mac OS X v10.6.6 or later to install via the Mac App Store (v10.6.8 recommended); you can install without Mac OS X v10.6 by using an OS X Lion USB Thumb Drive, available on the Apple Online Store
7 GB of available disk space
    2 GB of RAM
To find out info about your system
Click on the Apple symbol in the upper left of the OS X main menu bar. A drop down menu appears. Click About this Mac. A smaller popup window appears. This gives you basic info like what version of OS X your iMac is running, the speed of your iMac's CPU and how much RAM is installed.
Click on the button that says More Info. A larger window appears giving you a complete overview of your iMac's hardware specs.
Highlight all of this info and copy/paste all of this into another reply to this post, editing out your iMac's serial number before actually posting the reply. This will tell us everything about your iMac so we may begin to help with your iMac issues.
If your 2006 iMac can run Lion then you can purchase a Lion install code here.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
Before installing a major systems upgrade, it would be prudent to have a viable backup of your current system and important data in case something should go wrong with the installation.
    Good Luck!

  • Transfer of an exisisting windows liscence to new iMac

I have bought an new Apple iMac and I would like to transfer my exisiting windows-liscence for Adobe Premiere elements to iMac.

I believe you might only need to download the Mac version to your Mac and use the same serial number to activate.  You are allowed to have two activated installations.  I know this is the case with Photoshop Elements (meaning you can use the same license for both systems) but I am not sure about Premiere Elements.  Download the trial version and see.
If it turns out that you do need to transfer the licensing, here is a link that explains the process for that.

  • PSE 10 "you do not have the necessary access privileges"

I just installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my Mac which is running OS 10.7.2 (Lion) and can't open it because I get the message "You cannot initialize Photoshop Elements because you do not have the necessary access privileges". I've changed the permissions on the PSE 10 folder as well as the Contents folder inside the Adobe Elements 10 Organizer. Still a no go... Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for all your tipps.
Too bad, that didn't work for me
I tried to define the disks during startup by pressing  <Alt> + <CMD> and set the first scratch disk to my Mac HD.
But that is overwritten each I time I start it again.
I can start the Organizer but not the Editor.
Compared to a user that works I see that in
    "/Users/andreas/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Settings"
The file "Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.psp" exists with length zero.
So I do obiviously have write permission on this folder, but what else is missing?
In "/Users/andreas/Library/Preferences/Adobe" I find the folder "Elements Organizer" with subfolder 10.0
In "/Users/andreas/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop Elements 10" there's only an empty subfolder "Presets".
Permissions, however, seem also to be ok:
    imac:Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 andreas$ pwd
    /Users/andreas/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop Elements 10
    imac:Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 andreas$ ls -l
    total 0
    drwxr-xr-x  2 andreas  staff  68  8 Dez 14:54 Presets
For my working user this is highly populated.
Isn't there a way to trace or monitor where the Elements Editor fails to access a directory or file?

  • What HD camcorders should I use?

Is there a list of HD camcorders approved for use with Premiere Elements on iMac?

    Chrisdad
    Just some thoughts...
What version of Premiere Elements Mac are you using? Version 10 or 11? Is your computer 64 bit system?
I would suggest that you look into the video and audio formats offered by the camcorders, that is,including 1080i and 1080p and associated frame rates 24, 30, 50, 60. Also, look at the wrapper format of the file (.mts, .m2ts, .mov, .avi, or other).
If possible, try to get a sample video from the camcorder of interest for a tryout on your Premiere Elements in your computer environment.
