ELEMENTS 7 ORGANISER

My Elements 7 has been working perfectly for over 2 years. Suddenly the ORAGNISER won't open ????

The Organizer preferences may have become corrupted, needing to be automatically re-built on a re-start.
Close Elements.
Click the Start Button and then your user name (in place of mine) and navigate to:
C: 99Jon >> AppData >> Roaming >> Adobe >> Elements Organizer >>7.0 >> Organizer
Delete the PSA file (with key symbol) and delete Status.dat
Re-start the program
AppData may be a hidden system file. See the link to reveal hidden files.

  • Elements 8 Organiser will not load Photoshop as External Editor

For some years I've succesfully used Photoshop CS2 with Elements (various versions) Organiser as my photo file manager.  The Organiser allowed me to select Photoshop as the external editor and subsequently accepted/managed the edited photos from Photoshop when I closed the file there.  (I prefer the facilities of Organiser to those of Bridge; and other folk in the household prefer Elements Editor).
I recently upgraded from Photoshop CS2 to CS5 64bit.  Initially Elements 8 Organiser (which is 32bit) continued to call up Photoshop (CS5) as the external editor but has now ceased to do so.  There is still an option in Organiser's dropdown EDIT list to "Edit in Photoshop" and any thumbnails selected in the Organiser get the "being edited" label applied if I select the "Edit with Photoshop" option.  However, Photoshop does not open;  or, if I have Photoshop open already, the photos selected in Organiser do not appear in the Photoshop workspace for editing.
I cannot, either, find the "close external edit" option in Organiser. When I eventually close Organiser, it warns that I will lose any editing done with the external editor to those photos it thinks it has handed to Photoshop, even though there has not been any handover in fact.
I can chose, in Organiser, to edit the very same photos with Elements Editor, even though Organiser appears to think that they are currently being edited by Photoshop.  If I do edit such a photo in Elements Editor then close it, the Organiser becomes happy and forgets it thought Photoshop was involved at all.
Is there some switch in a config file somewhere that I can throw to get the Organiser to actually call up Photoshop and hand it the file(s)?  Or is this just an Adobe glitch?  Any help or clues would be much appreciated.

    Graham,
I have tried to persuade Elements Organiser to reconsider Photoshop as an external editor by going to the "Editing" section of Elements Preferences dialogues and specifying Photoshop.exe.  However, no matter which version of Photoshop.exe I point at (64bit CS5, 32bit CS5 or even the old 32bit CS2) Elements tells me that it automatically already has Photoshop as an external editor and I don't need to specify it as such.
On trying to exit the Preferences/Editing dialogue, Elements then pops up another dialogue box that tells me that "The path you chose for the external editing application is invalid.  Please correct the path or choose another external editor".  I need to uncheck the "Use a supplementary editing application" to stop this box re-popping.
The Elements EDIT drop down menu still shows Photoshop as an available editing application.  However, as described in the original post, Photoshop does not load or pick up any file specified for Photoshop editing within Elements Organiser.
I've also tried resetting Elements Organiser Preferences to their default.  This does not make any difference to the problem either.  There is an Organiser glitch I think.  I am begining to think it will need a Registry fix ..... but of what I have no real idea; and it isn't a good idea to mess with the Registry in a haphazard way.
Perhaps I should try a reload of Elements from scratch, after saving my Catalogue file somewhere safe?

  • Elements 9 Organiser

I have been using Elements 9 and my camera is the Nikon 7000. So far I have had no problems but now when I try to upload photos from my camera, the following mesage appears.
"Elements 9 Organiser encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information might be lost." Please advise!

What type of files are they and how are you importing?
Are you able to copy the photos from the storage card to a folder on your computer e.g. using a card reader rather than connecting the camera?
If so try using File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders

  • Elements 9 Organiser "Copy new files only" problem

Whenever I import pictures into Elements 9 Organiser it still imports pictures that I've previously imported even though in the Preferences "Copy new files only (ignore already imported files" is ticked. I have to deselect all the pictures and reselect the new ones. Never was a problem with Elements 5 & 6.
    Any suggestions..??

In the download dialog box, have set any constants like owner or copyright fields?
Once you have downloaded the image for the first time, do you make any changes to the original in PSE?

  • How do I stop Elements 11 Organiser assuming JPG when editing using PS CS6

    Hi,
I love the Elements 11 organiser but prefer to edit using PS CS6.
However, everytime I edit using PS CS6, the Elements organiser creates a JPG file.
If I save this as a PSD file, I have to manually trick Elements organiser into reconnecting to the PSD file by deleting the JPG from windows explorer and then manuall reconnecting the JPG to the PSD instead.
This is also the case if I want to just go straight into OnOne Perfect Photo Suite by setting it up as an external editing program.
Is there a way to change Elements organisers behaviour?
    Thanks
    Darren

I don't even need to do this as when you make changes and go to save, PS CS6 asks you to save and selects PSD by default (which I use).
The problem is the cleanup. The watch folder option will pick up the new photo but it does not associate it with the original as a version set so your window ends up getting cluttered. Also, subsequent edits generate a new file (e.g. photo-edited-2.psd) which is not nescessary when using PSDs due to the ability to turn layers on and off etc.
I am investigating Lightroom 4 and its organisational abilities and integration with PS CS6 and other plugins.
    Thanks
    Darren

  • Re-Arranging Thumbnails In Adobe Elements 6 Organiser

    Hi folks,
Is there a way of re-arranging the order of thumbnails in my Adobe Elements 6 organiser. When I uploaded all of my images to the organiser, for some reason they did not come out in the exact order I had them within my "my pictures" file on my pc so I want to shuffle them around. I've tried to drag them out of position but that doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas if this is possible?
    Thanks
    Ian

    Ian,
Windows Explorer (which is probably what you used to look at the My Pictures folder) has a default sequence of File Name, whereas the Organizer primarily sequences photos based on date the photo was taken.
However, the Organizer does have a choice of viewing based on
    b Folder Location
which will use File Name sequence.
So you could use Folder Location view, but I suggest that you post a description of how you want to use these photos for which you intend to modify their sequence.
The PSE 6 Organizer has a function called an
    b Album
which can have whatever sequence you wish to establish by drag and drop. Whether that is the best choice for you will depend on your intended use.

  • I have set up my photos in Adobe Elements 12 organiser and wish to download them to Snapfish in order to create a photobook, but it seems I am unable to do this.  Adobe do not provide a hardcopy photobook service

I have set up my photos in Adobe Elements 12 organiser and wish to download them to Snapfish in order to create a photobook, but it seems I am unable to do this.  Adobe do not provide a hardcopy photobook service.  Can anyone help me please?  I don't want to have to reformat all my photos.  It has taken me the whole week to do it in Adobe Elements.  I was unaware that Adobe no longer have this service as it misleadingly appears that they do.

You are in the wrong forum.  We don't do Elements here.
This is the Photoshop proper forum.  There's no "Organizer" (American spelling) in Photoshop.
    The "Elements" forum is here:
Community: Photoshop Elements | Adobe Community
Incidentally you are not addressing Adobe here.
I've been using Adobe products for very, very close to 30 years, and I have never hear of an "Adobe photo book service".

  • Elements 12 organiser shows on bottom of screen

elements 12 organiser shows on bottom of screen. how to fix?

What operating system are you using?
    Could you post a screenshot?

  • Opening Elements 11 Organiser

Each time I try to open my new Photoshop Elements 11 organiser I get a run time error message saying the programme needed to close down.

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Organizer and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer folder you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer”
    Select it and click OK
    Click next
    Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.

  • Elements 11 organiser catalog

    Hi,
I've tried migrating my catalog across several times without success, it takes people but none of the other folders...which of couse are the ones I tend to use most! Switched off face recognition in 8, ran optimise and fix etc but still the same, people folder migrates, the rest doesn't and no message from Elements 11 that there's any problem. Anybody else out there had this problem?
    Robin

    Brian,
Yes, makes tagging people a bit slower that it used to be, maybe I'll find a quicker way of doing it! Day 1 with the new package - thanks again for your help...

Hi, Unfortunately, the People and Events tas aren't quite the same as they were in previous versions. I would like to be able to have groups for each, we might see that enhancement one day. Coming from PSE 8, you will find quite a few changes - if you need further help just ask on the forum. Brian

  • Elements 11 organiser display

The lower tool bar in Elements 11 'organiser' has recently disapeared from the display on my iMac computer. I am unable to recover it even after reinsalling my disc copy. Any ideas?

    Resolution not above 1024x768.
Why not? The imac should be set to the highest setting in system prefs>displays, always. It should be hugely above that.
EDIT If you try to down-res like that, PSE won't be the only program where you have trouble, and the display will make up for showing things larger by being hideously fuzzy.
