Elements 9 "Gathering Info"

I reloaded Elements 9, "GATHERING INFO BAR" continues to run and will not Sinc to my online Account Catalog. Frustrated !

Can you try killing the elements sync exe from task bar and then restarting the application again?

  • HT5085 Gathering Info About your iTunes Library - Keep getting Network error

    I bought iTunes Match yesterday, and so far have not been able to use it.
    It gets to Stage 1: Gathering Info About Your iTunes Library and makes progress, but right at the end an error box appears saying:
    "We could not complete your iTunes request. The network connection was reset.
    Make sure your network connection is active and try again"
    Well I know the network connection is active as I was able to be charged for iTunes Match and have had no problems making other purchases. I went to Advance > Run Diagnostics Tests from Help in iTunes and ran the Network Connectivity Diagnostics and it reported no problems.
    Now I know how much Apple hate giving back refunds, but if people can't help, does anyone know how I can get my money back? If I click "Report a Problem" it simply takes me to the help pages. I tried contacting support but I received an email saying they can't help.
    I'm getting quite frustrated now, so I'm reaching out and hoping someone can help me?

    @ deggie, I wasn't threatening ANYONE. I was simply saying how frustrating this has become, seeing how I have been trying on my own to figure this issue out for more then a month with no results. Like I said in the beginning, I have not used any other account to purchase apps or other products on my phone. I have only ever used one account. There are 23 apps that are saying they can't sync. It directs me to authorize the computer, which I do but it doesn't change the outcome. If I proceed, I lose those 23 apps correct? Do I also lose all my text messages saved, and other things such as documents in the "notes"?

    As per title
    Just bought a new laptop and am having problems installing and using itunes.
    Running windows 8 with 64bit
    The instal seems to go fine then when i go to open itunes it takes an age to open.
    When it finally opens it finds my itunes from the cloud but i have      ! next to every tune.
    When the genius is gathering info it freezes and i have to force quit.
    And when sending info to itunes it never leaves that scrolling bar.
    Any help on this is much appreciated

    Sorry you are having that issue. Since you just installed it on a new computer I would suggest that you try to isolate the issue. The exclamation points next to the songs means that the itunes library database cannot locate the hard copy of the songs within the computer itself. You may have to find them on your computer and re-add those again.
    A good method to test with is to create a new library and add a few songs to it and see if that works - if so then just add all your music to it and make that new library your permanent one and delete the old (you will have to recreate playlists unless you want to export each one and reimport.)

    Until Bob Timmons gets back to you, first decide what you would like the Express to do. I understand you want it for AirPlay remote speakers, which you can certainly do.
    I am assuming that you are not using an Apple AirPort router; if that's not the case stop here and let me know.
    If your existing router is not an Apple AirPort Base Station, the Express:
    can "join" an existing wireless network as a client, for the sole purpose of streaming music. If that's what you want to do, do not connect it to your router with an Ethernet cable.
    can "extend" an existing wired network to serve as an additional wireless access point, which can also stream music. If that's what you want to do, connect its WAN port to an available LAN port on your router using an Ethernet cable.
    Then, "hard reset" the Express according to the instructions below, and configure it. The prompts should be self-explanatory. If you run into trouble, describe which of the above two configurations you decided upon, and the point at which you're getting the "unexpected problem".
    To "hard reset" an AirPort Base Station: make sure it's powered up, then gently press and hold its tiny reset button. Don't apply any more force than required to feel a tactile click.  Keep it depressed for five to ten seconds, long enough for its LED to flash amber rapidly. Release the reset button. Then, the LED will glow amber steadily for about a minute. Then, it will flash amber, slowly, about once every second or two, waiting for you to configure it with AirPort Utility.

    If I recall correctly, mine took around 15-20 minutes for around 12,000 tunes.

  • Genius stuck while gathering info about my library

    I decided to use Genius for the first time. I turned it on. It started to gather information about my library. I went to bed.
    Next morning, the bar had reached about twenty percent across. Itunes was unusable as it had slowed right down to glacial. I left it on for another 24 hours. After 24 hours, it had moved no further, and itunes was still glacial.
    I turned everything off. Restarted. I then had to turn on Genius again, and click on the contract, as if I had never done before. The bar immediately moves up to twenty percent again, but there it sticks, nothing happens for a day, and itunes is glacial/useless.
    I have looked in this forum, and deleted the itunes library genius file, as well as all apple.com cookies, as some people said that worked for them. But it didn't work for me.
    I am using latest versions of itunes 10 and snow leopard. 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo imac, 1GB Memory, 20 GB left on the HD.
    I'd be grateful for any help and advice.

    I've been using Genius for a long time, but mine just started doing this as well.
    It gathers info up to around 40%, then just bogs down. Then after about 10 more minutes, iTunes will completely freeze and give me the spinning beachball / marble of doom.
    I had to force quit and this ended up locking the iTunes library file, so I repaired permissions, restarted, deleted the genius database, and watched it gather info and freeze again.
    I'm on 10.6.6 and whatever the latest version of iTunes is, 2.4GHz MBP, 4 GB ram.

  • Stuck at Gathering Info...

    I seem to be having a mighty strange issue. We were getting some disk errors, so a local tech rebooting the XServe. Now when it comes up, the lower controller's NIC appears, but not the upper controller. I can ping the lower controller NIC and get in through Raid Admin, but the 4 lights go

    and the Message column never changes from Gathering Info...
    The information in the bottom panel (like Info, Arrays & Drives, etc.) never populate.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    My RAID is doing similar things. I have green, red, green, green on my RAID admin screen. If I click on the red indicator, it goes to the components pane below and the lower blower has no green light. When I go to the physical RAID and look at the back of it, the lower blower does indeed have a green light.
    The message to the right of the four shapes / lights stays on "Requesting update"
    In addition, I can't seem to add a 6th drive to a RAID 5 array. It looks like all I can do is delete the array and rebuild it. This being a Friday and the RAID is not yet deployed, that's not entirely undesirable but this strange behavior is a bit unnerving.
    Any tips from those with a RAID in service?
    I'm using RAID Admin 1.3.3 and the firmware on the RAID is 1.3.2 / 1.26a. I am only using the top controller and I have all 7 drives installed with a 5-drive RAID 5 array.

    I found a solution in case your MATCH is still buggy...
    JUST BOOT YOUR MAC HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY (until you see a progress bar).
    Then in itunes disable and re-enable iTunes Match.
    It should rescan all your library and eventually works.
    At the end just reboot your Mac normally.

  • Process Chains - Like to see elements and affected info providers

    Hi,
    I am wondering if there is any possibility to get an overview of all active process chains with their process elements/steps and the affected objects within these steps/process chains (like infocubes, ODS etc.). In principle it's a process chain detailed view (like in RSPC chart) but not as a chart and not for one PC only but in a list for all PCs. So far I took a look into various tables like RSPCCHAIN (master table for process chains), RSPCVARIANT (attributes for certain process step types of a process chain), and RSPCVARIANTATTR (certain process types) but want to avoid any further effort to combine all these in Excel if there is an easier way to get that information.
    Background of my query is that we have a certain set of high-priority process chains and I need to know all involved info providers (Info Cubes, ODS, PSA etc.) to give the Operations guy a heads-up whenever something is not fine with these providers. So having a query where I can input the set of PCs would be great.
    Any feedback is highly appreciated.

    Thanks for your replies. Transactions RCPCM and RZ20 are pretty helpful for monitoring purposes.
    Anyway, for my described purpose I have designed a query with the QuickViewer (SQVI) joining tables RSPCCHAIN (Process Chains), RSPCCHAINT (PC description), and RSPCVARIANT (attributes for the steps within a PC). When I filter for field RSPCVARIANT-FNAM = "DTA-CUBE" OR "DTA-ODSO" I get all Cubes and ODS for a given process chain (RSPCVARIANT-LOW). Only drawback so far is that I don't get the explosion of meta chains and have to select each of the included chains separately but that's feasible as we don't have many nested chains.

  • Disk Utility gathers info infinitum - help?

    I need to repair permissions on my hard drive in order to get my external LaCie 500 G back up and running (I think an improper shutdown screwed it up -- I can't get any of my macs to recognize it). The problem is, that when I try start my disk utility, the gathering information process never stops. Seems to be in a loop and I have to force quit to get out.
    Everything else on my computer seems to be fine -- this is my dual 1ghz G4 that I use for editing.
    I'd greatly appreciate any ideas or solutions. Thanks.

    To repair your permissions without access to the Disk Utility, open the Script Editor in the /Applications/AppleScript/ folder and run the following:
    do shell script "diskutil repairPermissions /" with administrator privileges
    You will be asked to provide your password. To do this on an external drive, use /Volumes/volumename/ as the path; if the disk's name contains spaces or other special characters, place \" at the beginning and end of the path.

    Where can I download elements 6?  My computer crash and I can't find a download that will work.

    No, sorry, to the best of my knowledge you won't find one. Very, very few people bought PSE 6 as a download and back then discs and downloads had mutually incompatible serial numbers and also you couldn't enter a serial number into the trial, which is what the sites that have legit downloads for newer versions make available. If you didn't save your original installation media, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

  • Genius freezes when gathering info from library

    Hey,
    I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I haven't been able to get Genius to work, during the first step (Gathering information from your library) the progress bar reaches about 3/4 full and then iTunes proceeds to freeze. I restarted my computer, "repaired" iTunes (by clicking the setup.exe again), tried to close any programs that were using a lot of cpu, but nothing helped. Every time I try to initiate Genius it gets stuck at the same place. My library isn't excessively large either, 20GB. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • HT4914 iTunes Match gets stuck gathering info...

    I have subscribed to iTunes Match and during the matching process it seems to get stuck "Gathering information about your iTunes library..." forever. It hasn't moved past that point since the 14th. Any suggestions on how to get it to work?

    How did you ever fix this?  I am having the same problem.
