Elements 9 Organizer crashes
When using Organizer 9 and editing RAW images in Editor, after about 20 minutes, Organizer starts to run very slowly, then stops and the thumbnail shows a 'broken' image. Without further input, the successive image thumnails also progressively show as 'broken' and the only way to stop this is to close PSE and restart. The thumbnails then reset normally without any apparent corruption. Sometimes I just get a Windows message stating that PSE has stopped working and closes automatically.
I am running WIndows 7 64bit with 700Gb freeon 1Tb HD and 8Gb RAM on Intel i5 processor
This is very frustrating as I love Elements Editor but Organizer is driving me mad!
I convert my raw files to DNG and keep the originals as my backup. You could give that a try. The Adobe Digital Negative is a more efficient way of working within Photoshop family products and for archiving. Because Adobe will never overwrite original raw files the program has to automatically create a sidecar file. You’ve probably noticed XMP files in your folders next to your edited raw images. Elements has to read these to understand your edits, which will slow things down. With DNG everything is contained within the file metadata and no sidecars are necessary. Otherwise you may need to take Ken’s tip and open fewer large files at a time.

Hold down your Shift key while launching the Organizer. This would open up the Catalog Manager. Highlight your catalog at the bottom of the window, and choose "Repair" and then "Optimize".
If that doesn't solve it, from the Catalog Manager, try creating a new catalog.
If Organizer still fails to launch, try following steps –
For Win
Delete the Organizer preferences. (Organizer preferences are located at %appdata%/Adobe/Elements Organizer/11.0/Organizer). Delete the "status.dat" and "psa.prf" file from this folder.
Navigate to folder on your machine where application is installed. Right click "PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe" and run it as Administrator.
For Mac
Delete the Organizer preferences [Organizer preferences are located at //Users/[Your User Account]/Library/Preferences/]
Delete the file “com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist” from above location and relaunch the Organizer.

Photoshop elements organizer crashing
("Adobe Elements Organizer 12 Quit Unexpectedly" continuously while trying to tag pictures. MacBook Pro (OS X Ver 10.9.5) & Elements Organizer 12.0 - both purchase Aug 2014. Is there a fix for this?

Firstly the locations in the thread I linked to appear to me to just the preferences files rather than the actual catalogues. I think my catalogues are in the default location which is "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs".
It was the catalogue itself which was corrupted and specifically the file thumb.5.cache in the root directory of the catalogue.I deleted this file and hey presto Elements Organizer will now load. Everything except the thumb nails seems to be fine so after a few hours rebuilding the thumbs I am back to where I was before the corruption.

Why is elements organizer crashing?
Since I tried to download elements and premiere elements 10 my elements organizer reports crash and will not open. the edit function does open. Also around that same time I allowed flash player upgrade and tried to go to shutterfly to creat a photo book. My internet connection is less that optimum certainly, but it usually gets the job done.
If you are using the auto-analysis options, try turning them off for a while. It often improves performance.
Go to Edit à Preferences à Media-Analysis
Then uncheck everything.

Elements Organizer crashes as soon as it starts
On my desktop I cannot run Elements Organizer. I have tried running it from PRE and from PSE and also running it directly by running PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe. Organizer starts and quickly flashes the blue start screen and then immediately crashes to the error report.
I have seen the suggestions to switch off Auo Analyzer, but this is not possible because this is an option inside of Organizer.
I tried these apps on my Notebook and everything works fine, so I am sure that my installation software is not corrupt.
I have un/re-installed. I have updated my nVidia drivers. I have closed down all other running utilities without success.
Everything else on my desktop computer is running beautifully, so I cannot imagine what is causing this problem?Okay, here is the fix that worked for me. I found this on the website.
If a photo upload to an online service fails, the Organizer may then crash every time you try to restart it. Reinstalling has no effect. To troubleshoot this, start the Organizer and let it crash. Then check the contents of the file:PSE 8 XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username [mine was Administrator]\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\v.8\Organizer\log.txt
If the last line of the text is "Initializing OLS" then you have a problem.
To fix it:
Close all open applications.
In Windows Explorer for Windows XP, Navigate to C:Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Date\Adobe\Online Services.
Delete the Photoshop Elements 7.0.0 folder.
Open the Photoshop Elements 7 Organizer. The program will re-create the Photoshop Elements 7.0.0 folder and the online services data files.

Photo Elements Organizer crashes
Downloaded the trial version of PSE 9 and opened the photo editing page. When I selected the Organizer icon and attempted to import photos from i Photo the Organizer crashed. The only was I could get out of the program was to force quit. Repeated efforts have given the same results. As far as I can tell I have never seen the Welcome Page. I have had some success with the PE page and have been able to import individual images there and have been able to edit those images. What am I doing wrong?
The best I can tell there are 7221 items in the catalog. Scrolling thru the catalog I see a lot of images that I did not originally take or to my knowledge import. You can see from the above threads that I was not able to import directly from IPhoto so I did a work around and imported all the files individually.
I would like to start over completely but am not sure how to do that. How can I just delete everything and begin the trial again?

Photoshop elements organizer crashed every time I try to open.
The first time when I tried to open photo shop elements photo organizer it shut right down. Tried 3x more times and the same thing. I thought maybe my initial install was corrupted. So I uninstalled and did a re-install. Tried to open again and encountered the same thing. I checked vis google and found out other people are having the same issue. I'm running win7 pro 64 bit. What is the solution to this problem?
I wish I knew the answer as I'm having similar problems but with the Photoshop part which will not open. I get the moving bar and then nothing but in my case the Organiser opens. I also run Win 7 64bit and have deleted and downloaded the software at least 5 times with no success. It looks like a very expensive mistake and I wish I had never seen the software.

Elements Organizer crashes EVERY time on Macbook pro i7 with 8g ram.
THis is my Third requst for help- the program doesn't work on my machine, but I meet the specs.. Program doesn't open.. get the splash creen then it crashes. Running a macbook pro, i7 Mavericks, blah blah blah
You replied in a post referencing 10.6.8 that you had 'the same problem'. Did you upgrade to Maverick AFTER installing PSE? Elements organizer crash due to libiomp5mt.lib problem
I am running Elemnts 11 on WIN7 Home Pro.
Photoshop Elements 11 Editor runs fine but when trying to run the organizer it starts, looks normal for about 2-3 seconds while it is loading folders with pictures and then a dos-window pops up saying:
"OMP: Error #15: Initializing libiomp5mt.lib, but found libiomp5md.dll already initialized.
OMP: Hint: this may cause performance degradation and correctness issues. Set environment variable KMP_DUPLICATE_LIB_OK=TRUE to ginore this problem and force program to continue anyway. for about 1 second bore this window and elements shuts down (I had to take a photo to read the dos text, i.e. it does not stay but shuts down with elements without possibility to interfere).
I have read one similar discussion here that talks about codecs but I am not aware of any purchased or other codecs that cause problems on other applications.
I did un- and re-install elements to no avail.

I'm not sure its a codec problem (! just mentioned the codec since the only adobe-discussion with reference to my problem did seem to involve codecs)
unfortunately I do not know how to verify whether my codecs are up-to-date or not. In autoruns I seem to be able to list/filter for codecs but as to their being up-to-date....?! -

the Elements Organizer 11 creates a deadlock in the wait chain when generating thumbnails for more than a handful of MTS (AVCHD) files.
After importing AVCHD files from my Canon video camera, the organizer using default settings always crashes. I was able to narrow down the problem to be caused by thumbnail generating.
After deactivating the automatic generation of thumbnails, the organizer does not crash any more upon launching .
Of course, working without thumbnails is not very practical. The next resort is manual trigger of thumbnail generation by selecting "update thumbnail".
If I manually trigger updating of thumbnails for files one by one, then it works for quite many files before crashing again.
Selecting thumbnail update for multiple files at once has a much higher likelihood to crash.
This does not seem to be related to particular file contents: a file that leads to crashing once may be flawlessly get a thumbnail created at the next attempt.

My questions:
- has anyone experienced the same problem?
- is this a known issue with Organizer 11?
- is the issue solved with Organizer 12?
I have Premiere Elements 11, Photoshop Elements 11 installed and not experienced any other issues with these applications.
Playback of said AVCHD (*.mts) files works flawlessly, i.e. I do not have any codec or performance issue on my PC.
Deactivation of anti-virus software has no significant effect. I have excluded video directories from scanning anyways.
Have deactivated face recognition, visual search and smart tagging in the organizer.
Have also disabled hyperthreading in the BIOS.
Using Windows XP compatibility settings for PSE somewhat improved the stability, but did not completely eliminate crashes.
Additionally, it signnificantly slows down thumbnail generation and a progress indication window becomes visible during thumbnail generation, which is barely noticable in native Win 8.1 mode.
Officially, Elements 11 is compatible with Windows 8.1.
There is a knowledgebase article related to Elements 6, which recommends to disable multi-threading and to enforce execution of Organizer on more than one core.
This reduces the problem a little bit, but thumbnailing more than a handful of files still leads to crashing.
By means of the task manager, I analyzed the wait chain of the process PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe:
Every time the fault occurs, it is caused by a deadlock in the wait chain.

I highlight the photos I want to share, go to Photo Mail, select the addressees and press "Next". I then get the error message: "Elements Organizer has stopped working" and I have to close the program down.
This is obviously a bug in the program and needs fixing. Has anyone else encountered it and found a solution. (I might add that the same crash happens if I try to use the "Email attachments" function.)Hi,
Are you running on a Windows system?
If so, use the windows explorer to navigate to one of the following files according to your system.
64bit system: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
32bit system: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Right click on that file and select Run as Administrator then try your email again.
You should only have to do this once.

Photoshop Elements 8 organizer crashes everytime I start it up
Hi,
I'm having a problem with the Photoshop Elements organizer (version 8) - every time I start it up it crashes right away. This has been happening since yesterday where I was uploading some photos to Smugmug via photoshop elements where it crashed for some reason, and now it is crashing everytime I open it. The editor, however, is working fine.
My pc is relatively new and I am running Windows 7.
Anyone got an idea about what is causing this issue and what I can try in order to fix it?Try renaming the folder "Elements Organizer" and "Online Services". These folder are present at C:\Users\<current user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe. After renaming these folders, application should launch without crashing.

Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer crashes
I purchased, downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac today.
I launch the program and select Organizer, it crashes.
If I select Editor, it loads fine.
I looked at the installation and crash logs but cannot determine cause of problem
I am not using any plug-ins other than what might be installed by adobe
Steve KayIt could be that your catalog got corrupted somehow.
Hold down your Shift key while launching the Organizer. This would open up the Catalog Manager. Highlight your catalog at the bottom of the window, and choose "Repair" and then "Optimize".
If that doesn't solve it, from the Catalog Manager, try creating a new catalog.
If Organizer still fails to launch, try following steps –
Delete the Organizer preferences [Organizer preferences are located at //Users/[Your User Account]/Library/Preferences/]
Delete the file “com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist” from above location and relaunch the Organizer.
Hope this would resolve your issue. -
Elements 8 Organizer crashes when opening from Editor
Hi,
on my new OS Win7, 64-bit Elements Orgenizer (EO) shuts down with an error message after the following actions:
Open EO
Select a foto and open it in Elemtns Foto Editor for editing
Return to the Organizer before or after any modifications to the foto via the Organizer-Icon in the right corner of the menu bar of the Editor
After a few milliseconds the Organizer crashes and a big white box appears telling that Organizer was shut down because of an error and asking wether an error report should be sent to Adobe.
This situation newer showed up on my old Vista (32-bit) system, where I had the same version of Elemnts 8 installed. I already sent several error reports to Adobe - no response yet. Running the program in XP (Service Pack 2) or Vista (Service Pack 2) compatability mode didn't fix the problem. I think Elements 8 has a problem when running on a 64-bit system.
Are there any suggestions or hints on how to avoid this crash or how to proceed?

Elements 12 Organizer Crashing on Startup
Hi, my copy of Elements Organizer 12 running on Windows 7 is crashing on startup. It loads the program screen then windows immediately reports that the program has stopped working stating that "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I have tried the solutions suggested here: Premiere Elements 12 Organizer keeps crashing. and Elements Organizer 12 crashes after startup and have even renamed the entire adobe folder in "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming". This folder gets recreated when I open organizer but the program still crashes.
If I simply rename or delete pas.prf then it does not get recreated. While if I remove the Elements Organizer folder It gets created with just 3 files and the OLD folder in the "Elements Organizer\12.0\Organizer" folder as follows:
breeze_preprocess_config.xml
BreezeConfig.xml
Log.txt
Please can you advise me if there is anyway I can fix this without having to do a full reinstall? I am keen to retain the current catalogue if possible as I have over 15,000 rated pictures in it.
I notice that there is no catalog files in the locations mentioned in: Elements Organizer 12 crashes after startup, so could you please also advise if there is another location the catalog could be stored in under Windows 7?

AdrianI've managed to partially solve my own problem so will outline it for anyone who has a similar issue.
Firstly the locations in the thread I linked to appear to me to just the preferences files rather than the actual catalogues. I think my catalogues are in the default location which is "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs".
It was the catalogue itself which was corrupted and specifically the file thumb.5.cache in the root directory of the catalogue.I deleted this file and hey presto Elements Organizer will now load. Everything except the thumb nails seems to be fine so after a few hours rebuilding the thumbs I am back to where I was before the corruption.
