Elements 9 Videos in slide show

What format should I use for my videos to get them to show up in Slide Show? The movie thumbnail does not show up on the Organizer screen either

Thanks 99jon but it doesn't workk for me.....maybe if I describe my steps
put 29 images in an album
select all 29 images
click create slide show
select preview playback option "high"
click OK
press F11, full screen slide show starts
but no joy, pictures are not sharp and clear, as if I enlarged a 640x480 image on a 24" monitor
originlas are all 3264x2448 so I'd expect good image quality in the slide show.
What am I doing wrong.....
Thanks for any help.

  • Videos in slide shows

I have Photoshop Elements 6.  I have some photos and videos I took this summer and I am trying to make a "slide show" using both the pictures and the videos.  Can this be done, and if so, how?

I want to thank you for your time and trouble in helping me figure this out.  Barb_O from the Adobe Forum suggested I try changing the length of the viewing time but that did not work.  smriti from the Adobe Forum suggested I select the photos and video in the organizer, then select the Create Tab, then select the slideshow from the list.  Then smriti said "In the slideshow window that opens you can output the slideshow as wmv or pdf."  However I don't get the option on how to "output" it.  I get the message "The slideshowsupports only Photos, Photo Projects Formats and Windows Media compatible video files.  Your selection includes items of other types, which will be skipped."
This summer I took both of my grandchildren on vacation and of course I took pictures and videos of the trips.  Now I am trying to make a "slideshow/video" of our vacation, copy it on to a DVD and give it to them for Christmas.
Someone where my husband works suggested downloading Apple Quick Time, which we tried without any luck.  I tried to send the video back to my card so I could try and down load it again and try to change it to a wmv, but that didn't work either as I couldn't get it on my card.
I used a Canon PowerShot SX10IS camera.  I have Windows Vista, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and Adobe Premiere Elements 4.  I have no idea what a codec is.  My videos end in .mov.
Although I would prefer on long photo - video - photo slideshow in chronological order of our vacation I'm thinking my only two choices are either to run one then the other OR several little ones, start a small slide show, when it ends do a video, then another slide show and so on till they are all on the DVD.
I am open to any other suggestions you may have that might help.
    Thanks
    Sue

    Subject: Videos in slide shows
    1. The support of video files in Organizer and slideshow depends upon the codecs installed on the system. If the supported video codecs are installed the files are displayed and played properly in Organizer and slideshow Editor.
    2. If the default slideshow duration is shorter than the duration of the video, the video does not get truncated if the supported codecs are installed. I verified in E6 where the slide duration was set to 2 secs and the video duration was 14 sec and the video did not get trunated in the slideshow.
    Thanks,

  • I have the apple univeral dock and AV cables and   can play videos and slide shows on my TV but not music How do I play the music

I am trying to connect an IPOD classic to my TV to play music
I have the dock and AV cables and can play videos and slide shows but not music

Actually, i figured part of it out. When I'm playing itunes to my Apple Tv and Airport Express stations around the house, then turn on the mirroring, the itunes volume bar goes all the way to zero. I can bring it back up manually, and it will play on Apple TV, but it won't broadcast to multiple Airport Express speakers, the way it was doing before I turned on mirroring. It seems that mirroring turns off the airport express stations.

  • PSE 9 Organizer error codec trying to add an Elements audio file to slide show

I am using PSE 9 to build a slide show. When I add audio, I can use mp3's  from my music library in the slide show without any issues ...
but I am getting the following error when I try to add an Elements audio file (example " A _Taste_Of_Sicily.mp3)
This is the Organizer error message:
"Unable to add the audio file (C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ElementsOrganizer\8.0\Music\A_Taste_Of_Sicily.mp3).
The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compresser/decompresser(codec) installed."
I had PSE 8 and upgraded to PSE 9 - I noticed the error file detail shows 8.0 - Is this my problem - maybe an incomplete upgrade ?  (I've made several slideshows mixing photos and music, on an older computer using PSE 8 and never ran into this issue.)
Below is my system info in case that helps:
OS=Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an HP Pavillion dv7
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-430M Dual Core processor (2.26GHz, 3MB L2 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.53GHz
    8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5470 switchable graphics
    IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
    Thanks for any help !

Does that file extension really have a space in it?  If so, remove the space.

  • Elements 9 and a Slide Show issue - help!

I'm using Elements 9 trial and will probably buy it. One problem has to do with Slide Show.
It's a feature the family like to use. I have no problem building a slide show however full screen displays
seem to have a limit on image size......pictures show as distorted or heavily pixelated. As if I'm enlarging a 640x480 image to full HD size.
What am I doing wrong......the example of what I like is how Picasa builds slide shows, full screen images show at actual image size.
This is the only negative I seem to find in my trial of Elements 9.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Elements working with Other Slide Show Products

We've had some debates here about slide show products other than the function within Elements. Personally I opted for Proshow Gold, which I've been very pleased with.
However, it lacks in one aspect and that's locating the files you want to put into a show. That's because I rely on the E3 Organiser to make sense of the thousands of folders and meaningless filenames I have. Proshow has an Explorer like interface which means you need to know where the image is actually stored on your hard drive.
So, naturally I thought I'd see if I could get Proshow to work along side the E3 Organiser.....and it does!!!
If you open both programs you can just select images in the Organiser Window an drag them into Proshow. So now I can create a Collection of the images I want in E3 and just drag the whole lot into Proshow.
It also works with Photostory 3 so may there are others that will work as well.
It did trip up once. An image got put into Proshow that wasn't one I'd selected but had the same name. It might have been part of a version set...I haven't figured that out yet.
    Colin

    Folks....
    Back playing again....:-)
If you drop the images from the Elements Collection into the Proshow Light Box it does retain the order in which they appear in the Collection, albeit reversed, irrespective of date.
If you drop them into the Slide Show image collection bar at the bottom of the Proshow window then the order sometimes gets a little scrambled.
I'll disagree with Grant about ordering them in Organiser v Proshow. I find E3 Organiser easier to use. So I create a collection of images for the slideshow from the various folders I want, order them in the collection, select all and drag and drop.

  • Iphoto won't play videos in slide show

I've transferred a slideshow from an old macbook to a new macbook pro and for some reason the movie clips in the slideshow will no longer play.  Anyone else have this problem?  Anyone know of a solution?

I have the exact same problem.  I upgraded from an old Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro to a new intel i7 Macbook Pro.  I did a migration using Time Machine and until now, everything seems to have transferred flawlessly.  However, any iPhoto slideshows with video clips now hang at the video clip and lock up the machine.  The slide shows still run fine on the old macbook prog.
As far as the videos on the new mac, they will run fine using finder/quicktime.  They will run individually when selected in iPhoto.  However, they will cause the mac to freeze if I try and run a slide show or export the slideshow whenever it reaches the first video clip.
I'm guessing its some kind of directory issue but I would like to recover the slide shows and be able to run them on this new, more powerful machine rather than created exported videos on the old mac or attempt to recreate the slideshows from scratch on the new machine.
Any help would be appreciated and I'll try and use more than one syllable.

  • How to embed multimedia (video, youtube, slide show, gallery) into a div?

Maybe I have to be patient for all of these features to become part of Reflow, but my clients are clamoring for responsive websites like the ones Reflow creates...  so I'm asking for all the rest of the goodies asap. I'm not a coder, so the wysiwyg approach is what I'm hoping for.
Is there a timeline for this that you can share - or at least hint at?

    Hi sravner,
Right now, you can't embed video into a div in Reflow and its not a top priority for us to include this at the moment. But, your feedback that you want this has been noted and we appreciate it. As customers give us feedback and common themes emerge, this is how we try and prioritize what to add to Reflow.
    Thanks,

Photo shop elements make a nice slide show but will not let me burn it to DVD which makes it useless to me.
How do I get the photoshop slide show to burn in another program.?

Thanks so much for your possible solution. If I can pull this off , I will no longer curse adobe PSE 13.
I'm still a long was off to accomplish this goal but I will surely give it a try. H264 (mp4) is still Greek to me.

Please let me know if I will be able to up load video slide shows from Elements to Revel? I currently enjoy photoshop.com because I can share photo albums and video slide shows from Elements with my family. I am worried because I don't see any home page or tool bar on my new Revel account. It's like there's nothing there??   Am  I missing something?

    Thanks !

Currently, Revel supports jpg files only. We are adding many enhancements so this may change in the future. Reading some of our FAQ's might be helpful for you to get some more information, so I will include some here for you. Only version 11 of elements has connectivity with Revel, but you can upload files from your computer as well.

how do  create a slide show with both video and photos in elements 12

    Hi Brian
You can batch process a set of prepared slides from Full Edit (see image) using:
    File >> Process Multiple Files
In the PMF dialog you can choose filename, date, or description (caption)
Make sure you choose a separate destination folder to your source folder so as tot to permanently overwrite your originals.

  • Can video files be added to a slide show in Elements 5 or 10?

Can video files be added to a slide show in Elements 5 or 10?

I would recommend PSE11/PRE11 if you want to use them on an integrated basis. Only the current product is supported by Adobe. Or you could get PRE10 if you are not concerned about support.
But be aware that one version will not integrate with another. They will work as stand alone apps but you would loose some flexibility. For example I start in the Slideshow editor in PSE, add my photos and transitions and then click Output >> Edit with PRE. The slideshow gets sent automatically as a clip and I can do further editing, add video, add music and narration etc.

  • How to burn a slide show DVD in Elements 11?  Can only find how to burn a Video CD, which doesn't help.

I'm trying to burn a DVD slide show in Elements 11, but can find only how to burn a Video CD.  Is burning a DVD possible in 11?

Do you know if it is Vista Home Premium?
If yes or if you are not sure, look for Windows DVD Maker,
On my Vista Home Premium laptop whe I click on "All Pprograms", within the list of programs I see "Windows DVD Maker" listed as a program.
If you have this program then my suggestion is to use the PSE slide show editor to Output a file to your hard disk
    (use the
-- the "Save to a File"  instead of the "Burn to a Disc"
    and
-- the "Movie File - .wmv"
    and for slide size choose:
    DVD-NTSC if in USA
or DVD-PAL if in Europe or other PAL TV country
Save the wmv file in a hard drive folder where it will be convenient for you to reference for later use in the Windows DVD Maker program.
Once this wmv file has been successfully created, you can play it back with Windows Media Player to verify that you like its contents.
Your next step will be to use the Windows DVD Maker program to write the formats of movie files required for the TV DVD player playback to the DVD disc. I recommend closing Photoshop Elements and then open Windows DVD Maker from the Windows Start menu list.
Windows DVD Maker is a "follow the instructions on the screen" program.
However, one point of confusion is how to add the PSE created slide show to DVD Maker program.
The answer is that you use that .wmv file (from the PSE slide show editor) -- it is now in a video format and is a "video". So you can follow the onscreen directions to add video to DVD Maker.
Note 1: I recommended closing PSE before starting the Windows DVD Maker in order to conserve your PC system resources. It is probably not absolutely necessary.
Note 2: You could also produce the DVD for TV playback by adding Adobe Premiere Elements to your computer.  However just for the purpose of making the DVD from your slideshow I anticipate that using Windows DVD Maker will be simpler and faster.
Note 3: I recommend using a DVD-R disc. What brand of discs do you have?
