Elements 9 will not print due to "program error"

Running Windows 7 - 64bit, 4GB memory. Have printed photos successfully. Recently added ICC profiles. Programs fails to print with either of 2 printers.  Each printer will print happily with another photo editor. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling EL9, did not help.   Any ideas?

I can't change the name in devices and printers.  I can highlight it but that's all. Is there a trick I don't know of that allows you to change or alter the name?
Open Devices and Printers.
Right-click on the icon for the printer and select "Printer properties".
Click the "Change Properties" button on the lower left of the dialog.
Enter the Administrator's password when prompted.
On the "General" tab in the next dialog, you can change the name.
From that last dialog, you might want to click the "Preferences" button and see if you can change the default behaviour to print instead of fax.

  • Your file could not printed due to an error on 6., it's not printing Excel files only

    Hi All,
I have users with a Windows 7 client running Office 2007.  The
printer is an HP Laserjet P4010_P4510 series .  The
user has not experienced any problems printing in the past, and can still print everything except the Excel Workbook.  I
    get the error message.
    The error is
Your file could not be printed due to an error on .........
    on 06:.
There are several possible reasons:  There may
not be enough memory available. Try closing files and programs you aren't using. If you use a network for printing, there may be a problem with the network connection or the printer driver. There may be loose cables or a bad connection between your computer
and printer. For more information about troubleshooting printing problems, click Help.
Like I said the client can print other word/ Power point
and any other document except Excel document.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
It's actually not the first time I have seen this issue, please refer to this thread below:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/01bbe40c-f522-4148-a7cc-86303da5416d/your-file-could-not-be-printed-due-to-an-error?forum=excel
    Here are some suggestions:
    1. If this issue only occurs to one Workbook, copy the file contents and paste them to another new Workbook, try to print and check the result.
    2. Maybe Excel is configured to run in Compatibility Mode. Right click on the Excel shortcut, click Properties -> Compatibility tab -> If Excel is configured to run in compatibility mode, untick it and click OK.
    3. There may be some corruption in the Excel install, try to repair Office from Control Panel -> Programs and Features.
I hope the information is helpful to you in this scenario.

  • Cannot print due to program error

    Hello there everyone,
One of our photoshop users has been having this issue on and off for about 2 weeks now.
Whenever she tries to print documents (Can be any random file) she get an error saying "Photoshop can not print this document because a program error occured." Now I've done some googleing and found that you can clear the cache by holding Shift+Alt+ctrl when PS boots up, I'm not sure whether this actually works or not since the issue is intermitent and it could just be that it decided to print.
She is using windows 7 32bit, alongside photoshop 32bit, the printer she uses is an epson stylus pro 7900 and has all the up-to-date drivers for both her pc/hardware and the printer.
If anyone can lend any help that would be fantastic,
    Thank you for your time.
p.s a dxdiag of the pc can be found here

It is normal. Apple stopped the PDF printer from working. There is still a way to use Acrobat via "print" but DON'T DO IT.
You have a PSD file. The correct way to convert PSD to PDF is via Save as ... Photoshop PDF.

  • CS Crop tool not working due to "program error"

My crop tool works when pictures are in landscape orientation but not portrait orientation. This is a new problem that has developed within the last week. 80% of my pictures are taken in portrait orientation. A message pops up that says "Could not complete your request because of a program error." Any ideas?

Reset the tool from the drop-down menu. If that doesn't help, reset your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ef4a07f/1
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

  • Will not print due to poor photo quality

Tried to print coupons, but, my Envy printer would not print them due to being "too low in quality to print with good results".
How/Can I override this, so that I can print these coupons?

    Hi,
You could try printing greyscale - you should find this option under print properties depending on what device you are printing from.
You could also try selecting draft mode - again, it really depends what device you are printing from whether you will have these options or not.

    Many thanks.
That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • HT1926 my itunes will not update due to an error message saying cannot find itunes.msi

I need help to resolve the fact that my computer will not update. It gives me a message about 95% way through the update that it cannot find itunes.msi and I also went to just uninstall the program completely off my computer and it gives me the same message. Help please!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Photoshop Not Saving Due to Program Error

Just had a user unable to save a document. Didn't matter is it was to a local HD, server or even a USB Thumbdrive. We traced it down to a single Hue Saturation adjustment layer and layer mask. Once removed, the document saved.
Any ideas on what could cause this?
    Thanks,
    Scott Griswold
